My experience with public storage and the Del Amo location has not at all been positive. As I'm reading other reviews I've had similar experiences with extreme rate hikes. When I started renting back last March I was paying $227 a month for a 10x10 and within a few months the rate increased $100 a month to $327 a month. Yet when I go online the lower rate is available. I've called customer service and the location manager to try to get a rate adjustment and they have informed me that they have in the contract that they can raise the rate at any time apparent. Apparently the rate they advertise online is just to get you to move in and then they quickly raise the rate. Additionally they charge a $50 a month late fee which a very large percentage of the monthly rate. This place is a total rip off and they're taking advantage of people moving into storage and not wanting to have to move it again! Additionally the customer service is poor and they don't return phone calls! Don't rent from here unless you want to be overcharged. read more

Ok...... it's late......been driving for hr's.......hit the Sepulveda pass around 5:15 pm...... yeah you know....... hoping for compassion and a bit of luck as I call this location knowing it closes at 6pm and I am a new client I am also a former sales floor supervisor for Public Storage back in 01-06 at their corporate offices in Glendale. Now I don't blame a PM who stop's answering the house phone at a 1/4 til. because 6pm is SOP. But God bless the ones that do and go the extra mile to not only accommodate you but to not make you feel rushed even though you know your on their time. Yenny did that. I have been a customer here for a very long time. They are far superior to other storage facilities I have used in the past. Excellent customer service - Shay is top notch! The facility is always clean, other tenants are very friendly and respectful, pricing is excellent, we have never had any issues of any kind. read more

Very disappointed in Public Storage. After only 6 mos., our rent was raised 10%. Called front desk and was told that they raise rent on a regular basis between 6-12 mos., which tells me, it is every 6 mos. read more

I use to work for Public Storage. I am going to make this quick and simple. They do not care if your things are damaged and the insurance is not worth it. I was a little skeptical about renting a storage unit because I was afraid of hidden fees. They had a promo of $1 for the first month, so I thought that they'd try to scam me somehow. However, I was wrong. Yenny & Juanito made the process so easy and were both amazing to work with. They did not charge me extra fees (other than the required monthly insurance and first time set-up fee that all Public Storage places charge). We only needed our unit for 1 month and literally only paid $1. We will be back whenever we need a storage unit in the future. Stay away! Within 3 months of getting a unit they raised my rates by over $55 a month saying it was for upgrades, there were no upgrades made at all! Tried talking to the manager left multiple messages with no reply. They wait for you to move your stuff in and then raise your rent knowing its a big pain to move your things not to mention if you no longer live in the same state. Ive never written a bad review in my life but felt i had to. If theres one positive thing i can say is Shay the young lady who works the front desk is very sweet and helpful,to bad her supervisors are not.... TRUST ME STAY AWAY! I could write more about how i reserved another unit also had a time and day to move in and when i showed up they gave the unit away to someone else. Like i said stay away! read more

I wanted to praise the property mgr, Breanna, at the 4460 Del Amo Blvd, Torrance, CA address! I have had my things at the property for 2 yrs and not once have I had to worry about anything being stolen. I also like the property as a security property so that I don't have to worry about not feeling safe while I am there! Thank you for having a secured gate!! Breanna is always kind, willing to go the extra mile and very professional. She and her staff have been supportive & I appreciate their work ethics! She keeps her property very clean and I have not had to worry about any trash or unwanted critters, be it 2 or 4 legged ones! I have been in customer service for almost 40 yrs & even though she is NOT from North Carolina like me, she has the heart from the South!! They charge for the full month even if you give notice and vacate before the month is half over. Not right to charge for services that are not being used! read more

Yenny is a great manager, always sensitive to any needs or concerns I might have with my unit at this location. I've had this unit since 2010 and overall, I've been very satisfied with my experience there. The location is very clean, quiet and accessible. The manager has gone out her way, on several different occasions, to accommodate me. I always feel that the property is a very safe place to store my belongings because of her management of the property. read more
