The service is what dropped the star rating. We had a young lady who had the absolute worst attitude in all languages. She didn't want to be the ere let alone serve our table of 6. Ultimately we were able to get served food drinks and all. Music was nice with the videos playing. About 4 birthdays were celebrated so it's nice but I wouldn't say it was an authentic Colombian experience. I don't think I will be back.

I took my mom and family to this establishment for Mother's Day, and we had an absolute blast. We had a large party, and made sure to arrive early on a Sunday because as you can imagine it gets busy. When we parked, I was glad they had valet, which takes the guest work out of arriving and leaving so that was cool. We were at the door and sat promptly, which is also nice, and despite the crowd celebrating moms on their special day, the service did not suffer on the contrary everything from the taking of the order to the delivery to the follow up was on point . The food was amazing per usual for this location and moderately priced, considering the amount of servings and the quality that went into the ingredients . The first thing you noticed, when you walk in the wall decor in the ambience, which gives you so much to enjoy while conversing and eating . There were 'trobadores' which are pretty much entertainers that go to the table singing in a folkloric vallenato style about the folks at the table. They don't roast you, lol don't worry. But it was the highlight of the meal and definitely added to the authenticity and experience at the restaurant. Anyone who has traveled to Colombia knows that these folks live to liven a party. Was a fantastic experience, and I highly encourage anyone to go and try the food whether it's a special occasion or not

Pueblito Viejo, muchas gracias por la experiencia! Even with my limited Spanish, I laughed with the crowd during the performance by the two funny and talented musicians. Everyone looked happy and relaxed. Some customers stood up and danced. What a lively and fun atmosphere! I took so many photos inside and outside the restaurant. However, Yelp only allows 10 to be posted. The moment you arrive, you'll see colors and details that make this place unique. The traditional look and the unique pieces they have on display make this restaurant a standout. I got busy taking in all the details from the ceilings to the leather chairs and all the things that reflect their culture and traditions. Truly remarkable! The service is fantastic. They're very helpful with recommendations and are patient and very friendly. Hats off to these guys! I loved the cocktails which came beautifully made and tasted strong, tasty and refreshing. The fish stew was absolutely delicious and so was the everything in the huge plate of pork, sausage, plantains and potatoes. We couldn't finish the bandeja, it's too big so we had to get it to go. I'm looking forward to visiting Miami again and dining out at Pueblito Viejo again. To anyone looking for a great dining experience while in Miami, check this place out!

The place is very nice and unique! There's all type of decorations on the walls and even the ceiling. We went on a Saturday night and the wait outside was about 2 hours before we got seated. But it was worth the wait with how yummy the drinks were and the food! However, our waiter did not make it the best experience. Had an attitude and seemed to be irritated with anything asked or suggested. Her name was Veronica and she was lucky that tip was already included if not we were not going to leave her 18%. We were a big party and I believe that's when the best service should be provided.

Loved the decoration all over the restaurant. The service was up to par...very nice and helpful. They play music all the way time but in the weekend it's better cause they have people dancing and performing. The arepas were yummy, the Gordita with plantain, cheese and chicharron (omg one of my fave). The bandeja de carne was the hit in my table. We had salad as well and kids had nuggets with French fries. I can't wait to go back again

Pueblito Viejo is a staple of the Miami Colombian cuisine. We absolutely love this place and every-time we visit it's a whole different amazing experience. For one, the ambience in here is unmatched. The decor and art in here is unique, legendary, epic, just absolutely phenomenal. The service is top notch and they're never missing a beat even with a full house. Everyone that works here is super respectful and very polite. The food is always amazing I never have any complaints. Traditional Colombian plates and bites. Natural juices and a good selection of alcoholic beverages as well. You can't go wrong with el Pueblito viejo. Only way to describe this place is "one of its kind " . I've ate here dozens of times and in our last experience here they had these two gentlemen that go by "The Paisa Boys". What a night. They literally had every table in the restaurant laughing hysterically with their performance. That was top tier entertainment and better than TV. We had a blast and look forward to returning this year! Happy New Year Pueblito viejo y Que viva Colombia ! And anyone reading and wondering about this place..... I promise you will absolutely fall in love with this restaurant. Whether it's a for a special occasion with a large group or simple dinner date for two, they will not disappoint. I love this restaurant! I've been coming here for years and still my favorite restaurant in Miami. The food is excellent (the churrasco might be the best in the city) and the vibe is next level. I'm always driving by this place and noticed it's always packed, so I headed over there on a Sunday to give it a try. At first when I went in I didn't know what to make of it, it is a highly-decorated place with deliberate low lighting. On a side you have a little dance floor with a jukebox, I didn't get to see the jukebox up close so can't say if it's functioning or also part of the decor. I ordered the bandeja paisa which was large and generous, I only got to eat about half of it. The food was ok, our waiter was very nice and always attentive. This is my go-to place when my family is here from out of town. Impressive decoration, excellent food, good music, live shows, definitely a place to impress your guest. From the minute you get to this restaurant you know is special, the greeting from the valet, the outside decor, perfect for pictures gives you that good vibe to find out whats inside. Once inside, you are amazed by the incredible decor at this place, ceilings, walls, bathrooms, bar, even the staff wears traditional Colombian(Campesino) outfit. The food is really good, authentic Colombian taste, starting with empanadas is a must at this place, the gorditas are tasty as well. The Bandeja Pueblito Viejo is the signature dish and the one i always get rice and beans, fried pork belly, steak,egg, sweet plantains and arepa a big portion so don't eat too many empanadas for appetizer so you can enjoy it. Shots of aguardiente and aguila beer through your meal are highly recommend it, and if you happen to be there for los "Trovadores" show on the weekends at 4 p.m and 8 p.m get ready to get roasted in front of everybody, is an unforgettable experience. I have been here multiple times, for birthdays, dates, and family reunions and never had a bad experience. The place turn into a nightclub late at night on the weekends. Este mi sitio favorito cuando mi familia viene de visita. Fascinante decoracion, muy buena comida, musica, shows en vivo definitivamente un lugar para impresionar tus invitados. Desde que llegas a este sitio te das cuenta que es especial, el recibimiento en el parqueo, la decoracion afuera perfecta para fotos, te dan deseos de conocer que es lo que hay adentro. Una vez adentro te quedas asombrado con la decoracion, los muros, el bar, los baños, el techo hasta los empleados con el tradicional traje de Campesino. La comida es muy buena, autentico sabor Colombiano, empanadas para comenzar sin discusion, las gorditas son muy sabrosas tambien. I ate lunch here today and the experience was bittersweet. For starters the parking is valet which is an actual scam for money. I'll elaborate on that at the end. I was supposed to take photos of the food however, my family started picking and eating while I found the restroom to wash my hands before eating. We were a party of three, seated promptly. Our orders were taken quickly I just didn't realize there's one person in charge of drinks and another in charge of food. We ordered a long island, a maracuya drink, a pink lemonade, a bandeja pueblito viejo, 2 steak chuzos, chicken empanadas and steak empanadas. The empanadas with the accompanying green salsa were great. The steak chuzos were also really good. The meat was very flavorful, well cooked and tender. The bandeja paisa was mostly really good except the steak. I really wish the steak on this dish would have been the same cut used for the pinchos. The steak on the bandeja was gamy-er, hard to cut and hard to chew. The rest of the dish was great. All in all my experience with the food was good. The bill was received promptly as well. The valet was $6 per car and it is not optional. Valet service means your car is parked for you and brought back to you. Upon leaving the establishment when I gave the ticket back to the valet guy, off course new school cuban-meaning lazy by cultural design, basically insinuated that I can go retrieve the car myself because it was at the front of the parking. So I was basically obliged to pay for a half ass service. I could have been really nasty and demeaning by telling him what I was in my right to say given that I paid. But I did not, I'd rather maintain my integrity as a person. I took the keys, walked over to my car and left. I nor anyone else who actually works for their funds, would appreciate this and given that valet is not optional in this establishment, I would not return to pay for this to happen an additional time. They lost a star due to their valet service and another star for the quality of the steak on their bandeja pueblito viejo. UPDATE: the situation with parking is now worse with the manager's response notifying me valet is optional. The second car of our party was not notified; they don't like to valet their vehicle. The person in the second car parked it themselves AND the $6 was still collected. Truly amazing. The valet guy basically scammed us for $12 then instead of $6. Wow. read more

It is sad to see how much the quality of food and service has declined at this restaurant. We ordered the pork steak which was hard and dry, and the tostones were soggy. I told the manager about the pork steak and immediately he thought I was complaining to have it removed from the bill; his reply to me was "well, he ate most of it, I'm surprise it wasn't good" I was very disappointed with this reply. Great Colombian food. The atmosphere is very kitchy in a good way. Lots of atmosphere, all the diners seemed to be having fun. Covid safe. The empanadas were delicious as were the arepas. My wife had the Bandeja Pueblito which comes with Red beans, rice, fried pork rinds, grilled or ground skirt steak, fried sweet plantains, fried egg and arepa. It's been months since I haven't had such a fine steak, super fresh, triple juicy, cooked perfectly medium as requested, honestly melt in your mouth quality. Lately I just haven't gotten my monies worth when it comes to quality steak, Rut is over. I got the skirt steak with yuka and roasted potatoes YUM salad with avocado, delish, arepa with white fresh cheese. My steak was huge, enough for three! I think the prices in this restaurant are a bit too ridiculous. If you want them to sing someone happy birthday they charge about $20-$30! The food is good but not out of this world I usually order the cazuela de frijoles. It has a bit of everything. Before they would put the beans in a small cazuela, which was super cute, but not they just serve it in regular bowl. Not that it matters but it added to the experience I guess lol My main disappointment was that the empanadas were burnt. read more

This place has been on my places-to-go list for some time. I thought my graduation would be a great occasion to check it out. What a hit with my family and I! Food was amazing and the atmosphere was spectacular. The decor is beautiful, unique and truly extraordinary. The Pueblito Viejo Bandeja was the most delicious bandeja paisa I've ever had. The carne asada was moist and cooked to perfection. The Gordita appetizer was soooo good. It has chicharrones, plantains and white cheese sandwiched between two arepas. If you're looking for a legitimate Colombian food experience in South Florida this is the place . It reminds of of Andres de las Carnes In Bogota. Upon arriving we noticed that parking was limited but the business has done a great job of managing the traffic and this place has tons of traffic they have a great Valet set up so you don't have to worry about parking. When you walk inside you're immediately taken by the whimsical and fun atmosphere. The ceiling is filled with dolls, flowers , caricatures and knickknacks. it's tons of fun to have a cocktail and just take everything in. We enjoyed the gordita appetizer( arepa stuffed with white cheese , sweet plantains , and pork rinds ), this was one of the most original arepa concepts I have ever had. For dinner we had the Carne Bandeja which comes with white rice , red beans, a fried egg , an arepa and grilled steak all well executed. For dessert they had a homemade Quatro leche , which was indeed homemade it was so fresh creamy and the right amount of sweetness . One of the best things about living in Miami is being able to indulge in worldly cuisine that would normally not be locally authentic. Don't miss your opportunity to have some delicious Colombian food. read more

It saddens me to write this review, Pueblito Viejo was hands down my favorite Colombia restaurant in Miami. Apparently they have a new chef and their dishes have lost authenticity, (no disrespect to my Venezuelans brothers and sisters, much respect and love for them) Colombian arepas are NOT fried, paper thin and stuffed, they're supposed to be flame grilled a bit thick and cheese goes on top. Chorizos are not supposed to be dry as sand paper, not to mention their portions are half the size they used to be. Maybe the restaurant is now a Colombian/Venezuelan fusion but what it is not anymore is my favorite Colombian restaurant in Miami. read more

How many times do you want to hear the birthday song? This is a great spot to go celebrate your birthday on a Saturday night. Their comedy shows and live music is great. The music played on the speakers full of nostalgia. The atmosphere here while overbearing to some I find fun to look at. All the figures and trinkets hanging from the walls and ceilings are amazing. The only thing that makes this a 4/5 and not a 5/5 is the change in rules. I have literally made a reservation over the phone and I get there and they tell me they don't have reservations for those times. Well then why did they make one for me? It seems like if the hostess likes your attitude, you will be seated first or maybe if you are a regular, which defeats the purpose of first come first serve on a show night. Btw 235 is the answer to the birthday song question. ****been to this place countless times, the hostess situation is a common thing not a one time occurrence. One time they told the lady in front me they don't do reservations, yet they took mine that I made and took me to my reserved table. The hostess must have not liked that lady. read more

What a cozy girls night we had at this Colombian place. We had the sangrias as a beverage and the picadas as appetizer/dinner (the portion was plenty for 4 women) and it was delicious!!!! They got live music every weekend such as baladas singer, mariachi and more. There is a professional photographer inside, he gives you some cultural stuff to put on for the pictures (if you are celebrating your birthday) and then the staff come to you table to sing happy birthday, really nice! Went on a Saturday. There's a $30 cover to just come in. IT WAS DEAD INSIDE! Only like 3-4 tables were occupied. Drinks were bad- how you mess up a Sangria is beyond me. Food was horrible!!! Had dinner here last night and although the food is always great, I have to complain about the service. The waiter seemed completely uninterested in what he was doing. He was basically acting as a body put there to take an order. People be beware of the 15% included tip in all the checks!!!!!! Hence, the lack of good service. When I asked for my check, the server did not bring the itemized bill. Only brought the final amount without listing items and without letting me know that the amount already included a 15% tip. This is just wrong!! If I wouldn't have asked for the itemized bill I would have ended up giving him a 30% or more tip. And to top it off the server seemed bothered that I asked him for the itemized bill. Guess he was expecting a double tip, but not from me. read more

SO BAD!!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. WORST PLACE EVER!! It's a trap. It's valet parking only...literally you are obligated to pay the valet parking which is $6. The service is super slow and terrible. Also, they didn't had a lot of the food available. Food was cold and very bad. The server and manager were rude and had the worst attitude ever and didn't try to make things right. They didn't care at all. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE. TERRIBLE! Never been to a place where not even the manager had the decency to do something about it or to try to make things right with the client. First time visit to this restaurant. It looked very intriguing with the decor on the marketing pictures. The food was average. Empanada shells were a little bit hard but they were OK. The service was actually very accommodating with my parents who are elderly. They did not have menus and the QR code did not work. When I asked about prices, the waiter said that he doesn't handle price. They asked me to look online for pricing and they said it was accurate. That turned out to be false. we had a Sancocho de Res, Carne Asada plate, and a grilled chicken breast with 3 empanadas, 1 Corona and 2 bottles of water. The bill was $98. Online pricing completely different from my receipt. The place is definitely different than most other Colombian restaurants that I've been to in Miami. Its more if a tourist type place and it's really loud with very tight seating. You can hear the conversations from nearby tables because everyone has to speak loud to hear each other. so for me it's not a restaurant I will be going back to. We went last night to celebrate my daughter's 19th Birthday and it was wonderful. We needed 2 tables (6 people on each) and Carlos, the Manager, was VERY accommodating and helpful given the fact that reservations are not allowed now. The wait staff that helped us, Alberto, José and Christopher were wonderful, very efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant. The food was delicious. We came here to have lunch today (Sunday) as soon as thet opened and we are super happy to have found this place! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and rather large, yet offers a warm, homey feeling. The food was delicious and authentic, made to perfection. The service was excellent! We were helped by Mervin, who immediately acknowledged us and sat us down. He brought a high chair for my son and asked if we would like to put his order in first (great idea!). Juan (another server) was also very kind, checking in on us and refilling our drinks. The place started to get pretty full quickly, depicting how much people enjoy having lunch/dinner here with their families. I highly recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be back! The food here is really good, served real fast and the ambience is extremely fun. They sometimes have live performers. The prices are a bit high and most of the plates are meant to fill two people. They have the most interesting decorations, all very traditional. It is one of the most popular places, so make sure to get there before the crowd does. Parking is extremely small so that is one con. I celebrated my birthday here. It was my first time visiting the restaurant and I had the best night! The food was amazing, the drinks were great and the ambiance is like nothing else in Miami. The servers were so nice and even with a large party (17) they were attentive, quick and friendly the whole time. I have a hate love relationship with this place. The food is good, over priced Colombian food, but good. Those Colombian carne empanadas are amazing! And make sure to have them with the spicy sauce it comes with! We order as well a "picada" which brings pork meat, chicharron, arepas, fried yuca, and ribs. It's $29 but more than enough for 2 people! If you're thinking of going on a Saturday night to enjoy the music and dance, make sure you get there like before 6 pm! It gets extremely packed and people don't leave, they stay to see the shows, so the wait times can be up to more than 4 hours! On the downside, it's extremely loud, you can't even hear the person Infront of you, or the waiter! The service isn't great, it's a very fast paced location, so it's understandable, but if you're looking for amazing service you're definitely not going to get it here. If you don't care about the music and just want to go to eat, then lunch or Sunday nights would be a better option for you. More relaxed and less people! I was recommended to this restaurant by multiple friends and family. Upon arrival, my wife and I were greeted by the owners who were extremely friendly and gracious to us. The decor was exciting and reminded us of a friendly neighborhood in Columbia. We helped ourselves to multiple appetizers, all of which were amazing. The chicharron (pork belly) was perfect; each bite crispy and flavorful. My wife ordered carne asada=10/10 I ordered churrasco=10/10 The beef was so tender and perfectly cooked. About another 5 minutes go by and they bring out my order horribly covered with some aluminum foil. In the car I grabbed an empanada to have a taste and it is all burned inside and out. When I got to my gathering I removed the aluminum foil and about 10 empanadas were in the same badly burned condition. These empanadas cost a little over $2 a piece! I paid $90+!! I understand Saturday was the Colombia game and they must have been swamped, but if you can't provide quality product, don't overwhelm yourself by taking on more than your kitchen can handle. The oil must not have been the right temperature cause the empanadas were extremely greasy. Luckily we were able to place them on some paper towels to soak up the grease and most of them were consumed. Everyone said that the taste was decent, but they were definitely over fried. I have no idea what their food and service is if you dine in, however I highly recommend not ordering out. There's much better Colombian places.

Man! Where do I begin?? I'm a huge fan of this restaurant. I think it's essential for anyone visiting Miami to leave the beach and downtown to visit this place!! First off, the decor -- you walk in and its a sensory over-load from the music, colors and decorations that run wild in the place. It's a complete thrill The food - UNBELIEVABLE!! The best Churrasco to be had! The steak is massive and comes served on a wooden plank with the most delicious sweet plantain. I order the steak medium - and it's also right on point. Never chewy or undercooked. The beans - what do they use? The seasoning is unbelievable also. I can't get enough of these. They're perfectly salty and thick. The drinks -- refajo! Anyone from Colombia knows what this is -- traditional beer (Aguila) with Colombiana (orange soda) and it is BOMB! Also, their fruit juices are delicious -- sweet and fresh. The music -- during the evenings on friday and saturday it becomes more of a dance bar/lounge atmosphere and I'm not complaining. It's completely thrilling. Everyone dances between cocktails and bites from the delicious empanadas and picadas. It's great to see a venue like this! I had a disappointing experience at Mi Pueblito Viejo 2. They charge a ridiculous $30 just to sing "Happy Birthday" and put hats on the guests--completely absurd! Their "Picada Colombiana" dish is outrageously priced too: $40 for a portion that serves two, and $80 if you add meat. For these prices, I expected something much better, but the food was not very tasty or authentically Colombian. On top of that, the customer service was terrible. This has to be the worst Colombian Restaurant I have ever been to! The food is nasty the hot sauce is garbage and the steak is so thin it feels like you are eating a piece of ham. They charge 10 dollars for a kids meal that has a tiny piece of meat rice and beans. Valet is 6 dollars and the cocktails seem to be made by someone who has no knowledge in mixology. From the authentic decor, to the delicious and authentic food, down to the amazing service this restaurant was a five star experience across the board. They also have an impressive wine selection and the our server Cesar gave us the best recommendations. We were so happy with our spanish dinner and wine that no doubt we will become regulars at this fabulous restaurant.
