The staff was prompt and helpful, the food was extremely abundant (and should stretch through the next two or three meals here at home!), and I will go here again sometime if I've got the urge for standard Mex/Gringo-type food. We were there for lunch it was so good and very reasonable. I had the Taco Salad with Chili Verde there was so much meat I couldn't finish it my husband had the lunch special burrito it was huge even he couldn't finish all of it. Great margaritas too. read more

Love it .... Been going for a couple years now and very pleased every visit. The food is very good , the staff is wonderful. It's family owned and many of them work there all verry humble . Santiago the owner always makes time to stop and say hello. Also u get complimentary chips salsa and dip . And at the end of ur meal u get a cinnamon chip dessert and a tequila popper. highly recommend puerto Vallarta on Hartnell avenue if ur looking for a great place to go with the family... I heard about this place back in school from a guy who is from the area. It was pretty good. We happened to go there on cinco de mayo so there was a dj outside and the place was packed. We had to wait a bit but it was a special occasion. I was pretty happy with what I got, the taco plate. It was pretty standard as far as what comes with it, beans and rice. Free chips and salsa too. All of the servers were very friendly. They were giving out free tequila shooters to everyone of drinking age but it was funny because they gave us the drink at the end, right before we were going to get into the car and drive home. Well they weren't full on tequila shots at least but yea that was just funny. Definitely will go there again. read more

This place is better than Casa Ramos but not the best in Redding. I am a Mexican American and grew up in East LA so I know about authentic and its good however Mexico Lindo (Fast Food ) at the food court in the Shasta Mall is more authentic and better tasting plus there prices are better. I do recommend Puerto Vallarta if you want good Mexican food plus if you want a restaurant setting then this is best in Redding. read more

Love this place! Been coming here almost every week for four years or so. Love the friendly "family" ribbing. Food is outstanding. Order Mexican style pork carnita tacos. Add extra guacomolie! I love Mexican food, but this was the worse one I have eaten. I ordered a Fiesta bowl like meal. The lettuce looks like it has been frozen and way too much for the bowl, the tomato was one thick slice of frozen tomato (still had ice crystals on it), the chicken was shredded nonseasoned and very dry. The compliment chips and refried beans were delicious, but I did not care for the salsa, tasted more like enchilada sauce. My niece also was unsatisfied with her cheeseburger. The waitress was a very nice lady, so I tipped based on her. I will give this place a star just because of the friendliness of the waitress. But. I would have to say, I will not be going to that restaurant again. read more

I love this restaurant my fav Mexican restaurant in town. The prices are fairly cheap for the big portions they serve. You can easily split them or have lots of left overs. Personally I love the Mexican pizza, taco salad & fajitas. The chips & salsa/beans are delicious. The staff is super friendly & attentive. I would rate them higher than some of the other more popular Mexican places in town for sure. However I am not mexican, but the complimentary tequila poppers & desserts are for sure a nice touch at the end of your order. read more

Holy guacamole! This place NEVER let's me down. The service is ALWAYS amazing even when they're busy. The food is equally phenomenal. I felt adventurous and ordered something new and was far from disappointed. I ordered the Steak Vallarta it was the juiciest, most flavorful steak I've ever had in a restaurant, even at a steak house. The peppers and onions were marinated in a whole lot of delicious. Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Always the best customer service and hospitality. The food is amazing and perfectly priced. I have always had not just an average, but amazing experience there. The staff at this location all deserve the highest amount of appreciation, for its incredibly obvious how hard they all work. I've eaten at the Eureka Way location a couple times and never had a bad experience, but the Hartnell location still blows everyone out of the water. I just moved to redding. And this is a comfty little restaurant. The people were so nice and friendly. The food was delicious. The plates were big. The margaritas I got was delicious. At the end of our meal they gave us a little desert and to top it off a shot of tequila with sprite, It was very smooth and tasty. I guess they do this to customers all the time. This used to be my husbands favorite place in town..... No longer. Went this weekend and the food was awful! I had a tamale and he had the crab enchiladas. My tamale was so bland and very doughy, absolutely no flavor! The crab enchiladas were from a can and the meat tasted as if it'd been left out for to long. Insanely fishy tasting. Needless to say when I left I ended up dry heaving in the parking lot. On a good note, their rice is the best I've ever had.... the workers are very nice, and the atmosphere is very fun. read more

This place is always delicious. Whenever I come here I am just super happy and walk away thinking why do I eat at other Mexican restaurants. The service is 5 star 90% of the time(I have eaten here over 40 times in 10+ years), the food is alway really good and tastes like why you ordered and no fatty meat in it which is my pet peeve. And you get beans and salsa with your chips. I'm not sure why the beans they make for that little plate are 10x better than when I try to make them at home but they are.
