Hands down the WORST food ever. Go here for some imitation Mexican food that only looks the part. Guacamole tasted watered down. I usually don't add salt in my food, but for this i had to. Tacos tasted like rubber. I brought my mom here because we wanted tacos, but was super disappointed and embarrassed by the whole experience. This was the worst experience I have received in a long time. I was seated very rapidly. Before I could place my backside in the chair I was questioned about what would I like to drink. The wait staff aprons were extremely nasty, there were dead flys in the window covered with dust so encase they get cold, The chicken tacos were dry, and extra tough. If you enjoy chicken jerky these tacos are for you. The manager approached our table and advised we would receive additional water with at the current time has not arrived. There were dirty dish rags under our table and once we broth this to a managers attention the raged stayed put under the table. Went to reach for some salt and the Inside of the container was very disturbing. Our table asked for items which were never delivered to our table at anytime. It' looks like an old, refurbished gas station. Walking in on a Friday night it was pretty busy, I immediately was drawn to the section where they had "opened up" the garage doors for a semi outdoor dining experience. The decor was hip and I really liked the layout and was very comfortable as they tried to accommodate our larger group. The place was pretty loud and they way I was sitting I had wished they had some sort of shade for the open area because the sun, as it was setting was pretty bright and I could hardly look at my friends during conversation. Chips were OK, and the salsa was freakin' hot! I normally fill up on the free chips and salsa, but I must say this stuff was too hot to handle. I ordered 3 chicken tacos where were served on corn tortillas, with rice and refried beans. The taco's were tasty but not very strong which got messy and I had to hand back my "man card" and eat them with a fork & knife. The rice and beans were basic, nothing extraordinary. This place is really convenient as its 5 minutes from my house, it makes a good lunch/dinner spot when you're craving Mexican/ishhhh food! Ask for the pineapple infused tequila shots before you order anything! They're about $2.00 & will definitely get you in the mood! Service is a bit slow whether they're busy or not. The menu is limited -- even the specials were just cheaper versions of the same food offered on the regular menu. The food is mediocre. I had the quesadillas which were covered with quacamole & sour cream. The guac & sc were all I could taste. My husband's chicken & cheese enchillada was bland. The chicken in my daughter's taco was dry & tasted like it had been marinated/cooked in ketchup. Service was horrible. As I watched my waitress chat with her friends at the end of the bar & then have an ice-throwing fight with the hostess at the front door, my initial thought was that this restaurant was a good candidate for the show "Mystery Diners" on Food Network. She was inattentive, not overtly rude but no where near friendly, and obviously felt that her job was an interruption to her social activities. Overall, not a pleasant experience. read more

My parents took me here on a visit home, and I loved it! While the atmosphere is kind of wacky (top 40 hits with retro American decor + Mexican food), the food definitely made up for it. I'm a vegetarian, so my choices were VERY limited (maybe two items on the menu?), but I enjoyed a great huevos rancheros. I'd come again, but with hopes of greater menu diversity. read more

Great Mexican is tough to come by in Gwinnett, but Pure has it nailed with their own unique spin on Fresh Mex. Fajitas, tacos, pescado, even the chicken soup is amazing (not to mention the margaritas). Friendly service too. I've known that Pure Taqueria has been in downtown Duluth for some time - just never tried it. A month or so ago my wife and I stopped in for lunch and we were very satisfied with our meal. Since that time I've gone back to Pure three or four times. Each time I received consistent service and the food was always excellent. My absolute favorite is the Puerco (al pastor) tacos on soft corn tortillas. The pork is very flavorful and the pineapple adds a perfect touch. You may argue that 3 tacos for $11 is a bit on the pricey side (and I won't disagree with you on that) but you certainly feel as though you're being served high quality, made from scratch food. It's also good to contribute to the local community. The margarita's at Pure are awesome. Good beer selection as well although the beer is sort of pricey. (Pop over to Best of Brews across the street and grab a growler when you're finished with your tacos!) I'll be back for sure. read more

The service wasn't so much their not rude but the waitress that me and my friend had seemed like she wasn't all there tonight she kept coming back to our table and kept forgetting what we ask for and she only had four tables that she was waiting. Nice atmosphere in downtown Duluth. The drinks were good, but if you're expecting great food, don't get your hopes up. I would consider it bar food with a tex-mex twist ? We had the tres ceviche for an appetizer. It was adequate, maybe a little light on the lime. For our entree' my wife and I both ordered fish tacos, the grilled and the fried. The fried fish tacos were very mushy and lacked flavor. The grilled fish tacos were dry and also lacked flavor. But we were mainly there for the margarita's. Had their soup special last Friday, Pablano and Queso. A bit thin but pretty good. Their Skinny Margaritas were great. Went with a couple friends. Really enjoyed ourselves. Great service and food. Very busy and tightly spaced and a bit noisy. Do not recommend children going during busy hours. Right by the train tracks which I love. The whole place is boxed in by glass garage doors. I've been a big fan of Pure since the first time I went to the Alpharetta location. This was my first time at the Duluth location. While I love the food - the Margi's are out of this world - it's pretty small and fairly noisy inside when the place is packed. But it is worth going and I will be back! read more

Food was good but the staff was obviously pissed they were at work. Especially the hostess/bartender (Vickie?) who I bothered so much by the waiting to be seated, like the sign at the front says. She only had to be flagged down 3 times by a BoH employee before she sat me with a bad huffy puffy attitude. Hopefully I just caught them at a bad time. My wife and I decided to try Pure after the Duluth festival. I had the Cuban sandwich. It was excellent. Then again, I have never had a bad Cuban sandwich. My wife had burritos. She liked them but daub that they were not good enough to rave about. Service was good, could have been a little faster. No problem though. All in all, a very good experience. Been to Pure several times. Yes it is your "American" version of Mexican, the food is good, and the drinks are great! They don't skimp on the food and they use "real" fruit juice in their drinks. This in my opinion stands out from the typical Mexican restaurant that usually uses the "cheap stuff" in their food and drinks. Friday and Saturday nights are always "happening" and a great place to hang out if your in that 30's to 40's genre. read more
