Not a bad place to get your boba fix, which I had comin' on strong prior to driving home from work. They have a pretty decent menu including food. I ordered the white peach oolong milk tea, 50/50 honey boba and pudding, 50% sweet, less ice. The tea was delicious with the perfect amount of sweet balanced with tea flavor. The boba were not as consistent as some balls were chewier and others were mushier. Overall a solid 3.5 stars, but I'll round up because they fulfilled my craving! It's been a while since I've written a Yelp review so I apologize for not having a more exciting intro prepared. Suddenly, I appeared at Pure Tea Bar like a wild Pokemon. I was on the way back to SoCal after visiting my family in Vacaville (yuck) with my gf and our now 4.5 month old German Shepherd fur baby. We needed somewhere to stop briefly so she can go popo, pipi, and eat her comida so a boba spot with appeteaserz sounded like the best option. As new parents, we did the usual dance of "Ok who's gonna take the baby, who's gonna order, and how do we decide what we want?" After a best of 11 game of rock-paper-scissors, I went in to look at the menu so I could relay my order and take over puppy-duty. However the Asian brotha working behind the register called me up to order. I wasn't ready. Shit. I asked him a few questions to try and stall as I continued to be indecisive, but finally admitted my full story like I was some guilty suspect, that I was just trying to figure out what I wanted so I could tell my gf who's outside with our child. The guy surely sensed my anxiety and told me it was totally cool if we brought our baby in so we could both order together. I unclinched my buttocks and heartily thanked him. However, one of the root problems still existed. I had no idea what I wanted. This is where I blame Pure Tea Bar - they had so many options that sounded good, but they also had so many pictures of their drinks that compounded my indecisive ass. Our total order ended up being just the Crispy Chicken Bites (or some similar white-washed replacement name for popcorn chicken), Spicy Edamame, Prom Date drink, and Milky Way drink. We had to be a little needy and ask for a cup of ice for puppers so that she could enjoy some cool beverage to survive her journey home. The (now two) Asian dudes were super nice and even asked if we wanted a cup of whip cream as a tasty dessert for our child! They were obviously dog lovers and wanted to pet our beautiful-ass baby, but they never asked to probably because it was COVID-season and they didn't want to scare us or perpetuate any dumbass stereotypes that Asian Americans are sickly beings. But I digress, the taller of the two Asians definitely wanted some puppy action as he peered over the counter in envy, kinda like that white kid holding his breath with veins popping out of his head meme. Ok I'm way off topic. So we waited outside for our order for a few minutes as customers started to slowly form a decent sized line. I went in and our order was surely ready. Despite how busy it was, they both made sure to ask if we needed a bag for our stuff. I obliged because I was trying to carry like 4 things into a packed car, but of course I was an idiot and immediately spilled some of my drink into the bag. Smooth. Luckily they didn't see as I stole like 15 napkins to try and soak it up. Even during that time, the tall-AZN began asking me questions about our pup like how old she was, what type of dog she was, etc. It was sweet, and I didn't think he was hitting on me at all. When I got back to my car, I realized I didn't get my cup of ice. They were busy though so I didn't wanna interrupt, but we thought of the possibility of our pup dying from heat exhaustion so I ponied up to go back in from the side door, ignoring the line of like 5 people. The tall guy immediately acknowledged me as I tried to politely ask for a cup of ice. He apologized for forgetting and hooked me up. No harm, no foul. And off we went. Oh, the food: POPCORN chicken = 4.5/5 Spicy Edamame = 5/5 Prom Date drink = 4.5/5 Milky Way drink = 2/5 (I have to admit tho, it was because I hastily ordered this without really paying attention to what it really was because I had way more time than a normal person would need to decide on their drink and I still wasn't sure so I picked a random one. It wasn't that bad, but it was just a bit coffee-ish and I don't drink coffee at all. It was my fault. Like always.) read more

Want a fly with your boba tea? I read the Yelp reviews on this place and was excited to try it. So, after having dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant, we dropped by Pure to try their boba teas. As my son and I were sitting on our couch at home watching the Warriors whip the Trailblazers' butt and finishing our boba teas, I heard my son yell "yeeewww". Lo and behold, he had the dead body of a fly on his finger. He thought it was a tea leaf from his boba tea at first so he spit it out. Yeah... Not a tea leaf. It was extra protein courtesy of Pure. I love pure tea bar! It is the perfect place to get milk tea with your friends and just chill. My favorite drinks are the winter romance, and I usually customize a jasmine green tea with strawberry. It tastes amazing! Customer service is a big deal to me, and pure tea bar gets a 10/10 on that! My favorite employees are Sara and Nick. Nick is always very friendly and professional. He always comes to your table to check on you and to make sure everything is okay. That little bit of care and welcomeness goes a long way. He was enthusiastic even though it felt like a sauna in there (AC off day?). I got the pure special, half sweet with grass jelly. I really wanted to like it, I kind of liked it, but I probably won't be getting it again. It's a bit too sweet (even though I asked for half sweet), the ice cream on top was nice but it lacked the tea flavor that I look for in milk tea drinks. i used to come here all the time and always had great service until today. wanted to get some boba before me and my brother headed back home so we stopped by here since it was on the way. ordered my usual "the black tie" (got 2) and the lady couldn't really hear me bc i had a mask on so i repeated it along with 3 other drinks. after paying i needed to order 2 more so i did another transaction. my first orders were ready and as i went to get it, i asked the guy what these 2 drinks were and he said its "black ice". told him i ordered the black tie and he said thats not what i said (w/ an attitude). how do you know what i said when you weren't the one that took my orders??? anyways, the lady said its ok and went ahead making the drinks i wanted. as the guy starts throwing stuff in the sink (hella loud noises) while making the drinks then kinda slams the drinks on the counter. we put the drinks in the bag and was standing there waiting for our 2nd order as he stares at us not knowing why we're still standing there. told him we placed an order for 2 more drinks and he grabs some random drinks and firmlys places them on the counter. i looked at it and told him these aren't the drinks and it moves them to the side and firmly places 2 other drinks on the counter next to us. by then, we didn't care anymore and just took the drinks and left. turns out one of the drinks was wrong and most likely belongs to the customer standing behind us. to the guy that was working there when i came in, if u don't like working there then get a new job. no need for the bad attitude. if it was such a big deal, i would've paid for 2 extra drinks that i didn't order in the first place. not like it's going to break the bank. read more

Went to this place on 6/17 at around 12:15. I tried the lychee tea and it was the worst tea I ever had. There was almost no ice in my drink and I can barely taste the lychee, it was 80% green tea. On top of that, I was double charged for my order. Later in the afternoon, I talked to a lady over the phone and she said that she would contact me again to see what happened. I never heard back. The next day I contacted my bank to reverse one of the charges and my bank said that they will put a claim out to this place to reverse one of the charges. Overall, not a good tea place to visit. Been here several times only when I'm in the area. It's not a tea shop I'd go out of my way for, but it's a tea shop I wouldn't mind settling for if I was thirsty for tea. Wow, could really end my review with just that, but to give a little more detail, this tea place similar to all other tea places and nothing really makes it stand out. I will say that they do offer more food/snack options here, granted a short rib sandwich is $7. Drinks only come in one size and they do offer split cup drinks, but only on select flavors. They have all your basic teas and some more specialty ones too such as peach oolong, white grape oolong, and butterfly pea tea. I love the oolong series because you can really taste the peach and white grape without any extra added artificial syrup. Pearls taste good and they also do hot drinks. Just your average tea place, but kind of leaves something to be desired. They also sell macaroon ice cream sandwiches too. read more

Overall: Good drinks! The tables are clean and they have my favorite game, Connect 4!! Drinks: I had the Milky Way which was not too sweet. The black spheres(boba?¿) are easy to chew and swallow. The Potted-Plant tasted like CookiesNCream and was one of the more unique drinks I've had. Although it did leave a weird after taste. Mango Green Tea with Crema is probably my favorite drink. The Crema is slightly salty and the mango is not too sweet so it's not overpowering. Perfect balance! Since opening, I've gone numerous times to find that they finally have good staff with excellent customer service and consistent products. I can't have caffeine, so their winter melon and taro based drinks are delicious and their boba always perfectly chewy. Their spring rolls are made fresh to order and are very filling (they give plenty of peanut sauce too). Sometimes I come by when I have my baby with me in the car. She falls asleep during the car ride so I will call in my order here and they will actually bring my order out to me in my car. The staff who go above and beyond to provide this superb customer service are much appreciated by this new mom. I sometimes see them bring the drinks directly to the customers sitting down in the establishment too. The great products keep me returning and the great service leaves a lasting impression. A solid boba place. I always enjoy the boba but for the very best 5 stars customer service has to be enjoyable and it's just serviceable.

I had the Milky Way which is a black milk tea with pearls topped with whipped cream and crushed almonds. It comes in either hazelnut or caramel flavor, so I went with caramel. The drink was not very good. It didn't have any tea flavor to it... It actually had a weird flavor. I couldn't quite figure out what... It didn't really taste like caramel nor black tea... It was just a weird watery milky sweet drink. The boba was too mushy, with a sticky texture to it. I did like the almond topping it, though. It sinks and mixes into the drink as you drink it. Since the drink is so sweet tasting and the boba's so mushy, the almonds gave it a refreshing crunchy texture and a change of palette. Probably wouldn't come back for this drink specifically, but I might be willing to give the other drinks and the snacks a try on the future. Note, there's an $8 card minimum btw. read more

I came here for white peach oolong and it was incredibly diluted. It tasted like water. I do not want to pay $3.45 for a drink that tastes like water that has the slightest hint of flavor. Also, I asked for no ice which while I understand makes up a good portion of the drink, I still expect a FULL drink. Not a drink that's missing an inch worth of tea. And I went up to this man who I presume is the owner and told him upon getting my drink that it's not full and he looks at me and tells me it's because I ordered no ice. Okay. Yes. I ordered a drink without ice. HOWEVER. never have I ever got a drink that's not filled to the top. And I told the man this before even touching the drink. He looked at me and didn't even offer to add more tea to it. I just looked at the man and he proceeded to make drinks for the other customers. Like. Excuse me. How rude. Also, my brother ordered a drink with less ice and apparently less ice means getting a drink that half way filled with ice. Then what does regular ice mean?? The entire cup is filled with ice?!??
