I will start this post by saying that I know I have a RBF. But to have a manager pull me to the back of the restaurant away from my family as we are waiting for a table, to accuse me of being rude and cussing the staff is an entirely different story. First of I never even talk to any of the staff. Then when I tell her that I don't appreciate being accused of something I didn't do, she tells me she is not accusing me of anything, she is just doing what she was told to do. I told that she is accusing me of it and that I would not be eating there and I was was leaving. I just walked away from her and told my daughter as I left that I would not be eating there. Things may have gotten ugly outside.... But Purple Onion in Cabot needs to get there facts straight before they approach someone with an accusation! read more

Excellent Cajun inspired food with a huge menu. The breakfast is great and you certainly won't leave hungry. Some of our lunch/dinner favorites are the fish street tacos, blackened chicken Alfredo pasta, and the swamp basket. They have a wonderful brunch option with mimosas. Give them a try! read more

We went for our anniversary. Sorry we went. Screaming babies. Terrible service. Steak was literally raw. Bloody mary was not what was described and pictured online. Broccoli was barely warm. Baked potato was barely warm, the butter did not even melt on or in it. Chicken fried steak was barely warm. We ordered 2 appetizers. Asked for them to be brought prior to entrees. Did not receive them. When asking for drink refills the waitress took 10 minutes to get them. When the waitress asked if everything was okay and we told her what was wrong she sent the manager to our table. At this time we still had no appetizers. Manager offered to reheat food. Told her I did not want it nuked. She then went to get appetizers. Ten minutes later she came back with 1. We again had to ask for the 2nd. Personally, for the amount we pd, the service we got and the quality of the food I will not go back . read more

We had a nice meal here. I tried the peanut butter jelly and bacon burger. It was made with half and half ground beef and bacon. The bun was a nice fresh roll and the fries are fresh cut. The PB&J burger is not really my thing, but it wasn't bad and I just had to try it. My mom had the pulled pork sandwich, which might have been a little dry but still tasty. The server was friendly and helpful and the God did not take long to be served. Decent little spot to get something to eat. read more

Excellent food at affordable prices. The Cajun Street Tacos were very tasty. You can get two or three with your order. They are big tacos, so two did me just fine. It also comes with two sides. I chose the red beans and rice twice. They were excellent too, and I had enough food leftover for lunch the next day. Our waiter, Mikey, was highly attentive and did a great job! Food is very good. Service is always spot on. I have tried the burgers, tacos, and a few other dishes which were all very tasty.

Do you want your kids to eat raw chicken strips? Does the thought of mushy catfish sound appealing? What about a little food poisoning? You do? Well then, Purple Onion is for you! Literally our sons chicken were completely raw. It was like they put them in just long enough for the batter to get crisp and figured. . . looks good to me! They only thing our waitress said (when we pointed it out) was, "yeah, that's raw." No s**t. Didn't apologize. Nothing. Just offered to bring something else. The catfish was the worst catfish we've ever had. It was like it was frozen for way too long. . . and then left to thaw for way too long. There was no texture it at all. It was more of a fried catfish paste. One bite and we were done. And then the ignorance of the whole thing was, the waitress seriously asked if everything tasted good? . . . No. No it didn't. From the disgusting food, to the overpriced menu (for what you get), oh and throw in a little food poisoning for good measure, I urge you to stay away. This place is completely overrated. The problem in this area of the country is, small towns don't have good restaurants, so the bar gets set really low. All of these positive reviews are from people who have set their bar very low. Do a taste test between this place and any good restaurant, and those 4 and 5 star ratings would drop really fast. Don't set your bar low. Have standards Arkansas. 1st time back since they reopened the dining room. Disappointed! My usual drink was very weak. Our fried pickles were overly salty. The fried alligator tail was cooked way too long. I ordered grilled shrimp, with no rice. Rice came out with the entree. Only highlight was hubby's catfish. read more

I had the Pasta New Orleans. It tasted like a tuna fish sandwich and was gritty. I tried to pick through it but it just made me nauseous. The waitress was inattentive to us but plenty to other waitresses and when she came to get our plates she didn't give me a chance to express the issue. Had lunch here on Saturday 8/22/2020. Myself and son had the steak and eggs, my daughter-in law had the the flat bread with egg and bacon. We all enjoyed our meal and will definitely go back. Went on a recommendation from a friend. Was not disappointed. Other than the somewhat awkward hostess stand the place is really nice. The food it moderately priced and definitely won't leave hungry. First time visit for my husband birthday dinner with family. The service was awful. We had a party of 8 and the waitress was not friendly nor attentive. My biggest complaint was the beverage refill we had tea and Waters and each time she would bring a new glass instead of just filling up the water or the tea very inconvenient a waste of dishes very cluttered table. The food was really good appetizers were plentiful and the fish was good. The etufee was wonderful as was the Italian dishes.. But it's hard to enjoy good food with bad service. Omg. We just moved to Cabot, and everyone told us it was great. It did not disappoint. Brunch is also amazing!

Had a great meal there. I ordered the meatloaf, and it was delicious and plentiful. I recommend you try it.

I really enjoy eating here the food is always good and the bartenders are so nice. I like this place much better than their sister restaurant Firestone. The cook at Purple Onion is much better, what I have had has always been good and very fresh. All the staff are very friendly I will definitely be back. We had brunch here recently and had a good experience! I had the Sunday Funday tots and the mimosas, both of which were very good! My husband had the frittata and said it was great. He had a bloody Mary and his only "complaint" was that he wish there was a wider selection of bloody Mary mixes, but he overall enjoyed the drink. Overall, great service and food! read more

Cabot desperately needs some Yelp action so I ventured forth into the unknown for the good of all. I'll try to be brief. To small a parking lot for number of seats inside. Wasn't a problem though - it was pretty slow for a lunch place at high noon on Tuesday. Great, new building, "country/sports bar-esque" feel. Super friendly hostess met and seated me promptly and I had a water quick. My server was very friendly but could've been a little more attentive during my 25 minute + wait for food. Half and half iced tea was perfectly adequate. Blackened fish with creole sauce was good and cilantro rice was the highlight of the meal but not enough of it for the price I thought. Fries indeed seemed home cut but lacked anything extra special like salt or pepper. The ketchup in squeeze bottle had been sitting on the table to long and had turned so it didn't help the fry situation. Server was apologetic about the wait and the ketchup and I didn't ask for anything to make up for it. Those things happen sometimes. I know everywhere isn't perfect. Which in summary is how I feel about Purple Onion : it ain't perfect but will get you better than just plain fed. Looking forward to trying other things in the menu. read more

Now that I've spent the better part of the last half hour throwing things up I ate four years ago. I can finally tell you how awful this place is. First, our horrible in attentive waitress. Second, overly salted, over done garbage disguised as food. And third, the utter lack of parking. The first point needs no explanation. She should go back to beauty school. Waitressing isn't her bag. The food. Ugh. The food. First our "queso" and chips. Stale, old, heavily salted chips. And what I'm guessing is velveta and some pepper melted. I rarely eat pork. I mostly hate it. Never eat bacon. Medical reasons I cant have high fat contents or I get sick. Like I am now. I digress. I thought by it being a "50/50" burger it meant fifty fat fifty meat. Like most beef if labeled. I had a shit week and decided to get the burger. Ill live after 50% fat. Maybe have a small stomach ache. But. No no. It's fifty percent bacon. Fifty percent beef. So more like 75-85% fat. The two MOD stopped by our table. I was polite. Explained I had misunderstood. And that we were very unimpressed. I was a little off put when after telling the guy our chips were stale to have him reach over and grab a chip to eat and see. Ok, I was horrified but I'm a germ freak. But he was nice. And apologized. I sat my check up, credit card up to show we were done only to have our waitress totally ignore us. I had to flag a manager down after twenty minutes to get my check taken. My husband and I come here multiple times a week the brunch menu is amazing and I would absolutely recommend the make your own mimosas with pomegranate juice. Their regular menu is also amazing there's no way to go wrong. I've tried almost everything at this point. Tender shrimp, amazing étouffée which they include in their other dishes and enhances them. My go to dinner is their Cajun catfish plate, the. Mashed potatoes have étouffée instead of gravy on top which is amazing. Drinks are very cheap for the area and they have an amazing happy hour even if the hours are limited compared to the usual (3-6 &9-close) Everything is perfectly seasoned and I recommend this restaurant to anyone I meet! read more

As I first walked into the restaurant, we were welcomed into the establishment by a VERY attractive man and dimmed lighting. Which to be honest, was pretty good . But then we were seated down and very shortly approached by our server. She was very nice and she gave some good incite to what was good and she made sure to be thorough with her explanations. We then ordered drinks and decided to also settle on Chips & Queso. I will say the chips are VERY thin but you dont feel as though its lacking too much. The queso could also be better but I'm not too concerned with starters. Moving on to the entrée/main dish. I ordered the Surf and Turf Quesadillas. They were EXTREMELY delicious and I wish I had more room in my stomach to finish it. The prices on the meals weren't even that bad as well. Overall, the experience was great start to finish. Service was impeccable :) I almost wish I ordered a dessert to REALLY seal the deal. Cute, new restaurant, & nice friendly server. But they have some kinks to work out, I had to ask for my soup and it was still brought with my meal, I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known that. Kitchen was very slow to get food out but again they just opened. Same owner as Fire and Stone which is MUCH better. Great restaurant and bar atmosphere. Food was good however the serving sizes of the appetizer(s) is quite small for the price. Staff was really friendly and attentive however the host was not present at the front for a couple minutes after we arrived but after that hiccup it went really great. I love Purple Onion. It's hard to find fish dishes in a small town and even harder to find fish that's anything other than battered and deep fried. Purple Onion has a nice selection of entrées for the fish lover. As for the bar, everything we've ordered has been exactly as we expected.
