Came to Purrfect Auto after seeing their ads in the mailer. With their location being conveniently located at the Santa Anita Mall (near Sports Chalet) my family and I stopped by around 5:45 pm. The owner Amir was gracious enough to accommodate a smog check for me even though they were upper busy and I got there late. I truly appreciate his understanding as me having two young children and a smog deadline quickly approaching, Amir could sense my urgency and went out of his way to help me out. Smog was completed in the time he promised with no problems. Even the service tech was very friendly. Waiting room is clean and comfy. But you have the mall right there which makes it even better. I was recommended to visit Purrfect Auto Service from a friend who spoke highly of the new management. An oil change is a simple enough process and should never really cause any headache, and this place was a great example. The owner happened to be on site and really took the time out to ensure I was in and out, and satisfied with the work in a timely manner. Yes, we probably should have kept our belongings with us, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. After kindly notifying the managers, they just brushed it off. Sadly, as consumers we already assume that mechanics are out to cheat and steal from you, but PURRFECT AUTO takes the cake by literally taking cash out of your purse and god knows what else. The only thing good about this place is the fact that they're located next to the mall. These guys messed up my car so badly, I will never go back. They literally didn't put the tire all the way back on my car and it almost folded underneath me on the way home. On top of that, I lost a hubcap because of the wheel problem and now my mini-van looks ghetto. I thought these guys were trustworthy. I had actually used them several times. One time they talked me into over 1000.00 worth of random work including new tires, transmission service, all these things they explained to me that I needed -- and needed now. When I had the incident of the tire almost coming off, to be safe, I had the car towed to the Ford dealership because even though my car was no longer covered under their warranty, I still had honest friends there. They explained to me what happened was because of the work that was done. They even got on the phone with Purrfect Auto and them and explained to them what was wrong and they denied that they had anything to do with it, but Ford wouldn't back down. Eventually fixed it for free even though they claimed it was not their responsibility. I'll never go there again, and I beg any of you reading this to not go there either unless you know exactly what you need. If they try to talk you into additional work, get a second opinion first! I come here for 2 things: oil/filter change and tire rotation. That's it. That's all I recommend anyone do here. The owner Harry - will try and sell you on at least 3 more services. Say no. He asked me about: 1. Weights in my wheels? Never heard of that before 2. Brake Fluid change? I drive a honda and it only has 50K miles on it...I asked him do I need this? Some time ago, the Ol' Hungry Polar Bear's Ice Mobile had some car troubles. You see, I couldn't pass the smog check to renew my registration, and that is very important to me because I don't need my home melting any further. So what seems more perfect than a place called Purrfect Auto? I mean, we all love kittens, but this bear was certainly fooled. In retrospect, I should've read the reviews on Yelp before coming here (the wi-fi in the igloo is a little wonky sometimes). However, no one typically walks into a business expecting dishonesty. This place is run by con artists. For $500, I was promised that the work they were going to do would allow me to pass the smog check. I reluctantly agreed, they did the work, and our car still did not pass. Begrudgingly, we came back to Purrfect Auto, curious as to why their guarantee failed. Their new solution? Pay them an additional $900 dollars to fix "the real problem" not previously diagnosed. Wow, someone was going to get a bear claw. And not the sweet kind you would find at a donut shop. Long story short, I took the vehicle to Pep Boys and they fixed the smog situation for $200. Unreal! Purrfect Auto is a poster child for fraudulent mechanics. And to mention names - Joseph and Neil are the epitome of slime. If you have ever been ripped off in your life, PLEASE LISTEN to these reviews on Yelp and boycott Purrfect Auto. Intially: Came here on a saturday after notice a nail. This was the closest place while I was able to catch lunch at the mall surrounding this place. They quoted me $25 for the repair which is general market price and he assured me due to having to dismount the tires. It took them more than an hour. Everything seemed good. 2-months later: We had some really hectic weather here (freezing/rain/hot/rain/etc..) I have a habit of checking my tire pressure. More than a few times I had top with air. A few days ago as the temperature reaching 90s I was losing about 5-Ibs of pressure daily on this same tire. I finally sprayed with soapy water only to discover a leak from the plug. I had hoped when they dismounted they would patch from inside of tire, but was not the case. Came in today (Sunday) and they were not open as Yelp suggest. Took to 3 other shops, no one would repair only replace new tires. Which cost me $480 to replace my fairly new 80% thread tire....I've plugged several tires in the past and they always lasted the life of the tire. Advice to other for tire repairs, ALWAYS WATCH THEM WHEN THEY ARE DOING THE REPAIR.Patching tire usually BETTER than just plugging. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION. Really wish that I had visited Yelp before going into this place! My boyfriend had been needing to get an oil change for his car, and while he has a place he likes near his house and I know a few spots near mine, we happened to be near the mall and this just seemed so convenient! So very wrong -- stick to who you know, people! Oil changes take 20 to 30 minutes at the most. Even then, I feel like we were pretty patient, not grumbling about it too much, even though we had somewhere to go. They gave a 30-minute estimate for time and it took them over 50 minutes. The mechanic even gave some attitude when my boyfriend was surprised that it wasn't ready when we got back from killing time at the mall. Seriously? Get over yourself. The guy at the front was nice enough, a tad curt when explaining the pricing, but I figured it was just a busy day. Fine, they upsell you. Even the dealer and your local mechanic will do that a little. But they push the same transmission fluid crap to every person who walks in there (I know, I overheard the mechanic giving the same scripted line to the people next to us...sounds iffy). At least change it up? Now here's the worst part of this experience: As soon as we got back on the road, it really seemed like something was wrong. In all the oil changes I've gotten (and the ones my boyfriend has gotten for that car), I've never experienced such a loud engine afterwards. It revs up really weird now, and my boyfriend has now decided to go to the dealer to check if any harm was done. We wouldn't be thinking any of this if it wasn't such a weird experience and if the place didn't seem so shady. It could be something harmless or something far more serious. If this turns out to be a more serious issue, I'll definitely be reporting this place. I would've waited to write this review until he gets the car to the dealer, but I just needed to warn people. They automatically grant you 1st time customer discounts without you mentioning it; this speaks well of their quality assurance. My hybrid car needed a full car service and John Fu, Manager, gave me the upmost care. I had difficulty with my credit card at the time as welk but never did he make me feel uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, it was the opposite. At the end, I felt more valued as a customer then when I came in. To top it off, he gave me an added discount for next visit. I had a bad experience at the Purrfect Auto Service in Glendora, where I was quoted one price but after the car was finished, the lady at the counter added on $10 for some silly reason. But here in Arcadia, the price given up front is fair and stays the same. Not to mention I'm usually in and out in about an hour, whereas it took America's Tire almost an hour and a half for a tire rotation. Top notch service all around! I made an appointment for brakes. They got me right in when I showed up. They did a free inspection and Sergio did an amazing job explaining everything to me that needed to be fixed. It would have been easiest for me to leave my vehicle over night until parts came in the next day but I was unable to do that due to prior obligations. He was willing to put everything back together for me but noted it would be unsafe. He went above and beyond to make extra calls and run around for parts to get me on my way today. This place is horrible and a bunch of crooks i have always gotten a oil change from here and evertime they tell me sometime is wrong with my car. I bought a 2014 kia a year ago from a Kia Dealership. I brought it here to get the 1st oil change and they said you need to change the the transmission fluid and they would ne happy to change it. i found that odd as ibhad the car for a couple months so I took it to the dealer and Kia told me the fluid is good. So today i took it back and they told me i can only use synthetic oil. I have had this xar a year and never ever used synthetic oil oer the Kia dealer i didnt need to use synthetic. So i was told basicly that if i didnt use Synthetic they wouldn't change my oil.. i will never come here again read more

I was STOKED about the idea of having my car worked on while I shopped/ate/watched a movie/went to the gym, so I was really excited about bringing my car here. After about half an hour, I received a call telling me I needed XY&Z fixed and it would cost $1200. I said "wait, WHAT?" and the guy said "but we'll do it for $800." That sounded fishy. So I said, "no, thanks, I'll come get it soon." The guy said I needed to come back so he could show me the parts of my car that needed to be fixed. I said "no, I'm not a mechanic so that wouldn't do anything for me." I repeated "I'll come get it soon." Imagine my astonishment when I arrived to get my car, and it was IN PIECES. I said "whoa, wait, what's going on? I said 'NO' to the repairs!" The guy repeated that he "needed" to show me the parts that needed to be fixed. And I, again, said "no, I'm not a mechanic so that wouldn't do anything for me. Didn't you hear me say that on the phone? I need to leave now, what have you done?" He was as calm and cool as humanly possible (how annoying) and said "but don't you have 5 minutes to wait while we put the parts back on?" Well. DUH. I didn't have the OPTION of NOT waiting for the parts to be put back on! How absurd, unprofessional, and ridiculous! Did he really think that childish behavior was going to change my mind??? YIKES! Worst auto "service" ever. Please, RUN don't walk from this horrible place. I'm surprised it's still in business, if they treat everyone the way they treated me :( read more
