    The hour long wait...
    -Marvin W.

Stayed at the hotel and wanted to do breakfast. They had 2 employees, a waitress and the maitre d. The backlog and wait was horrible. My suggestion is open up both rooms and hire more floor staff

Horrible. Second attempt to get dinner first one was a stupid rare steak that broke my plastic take out fork. Second was room service banh mi "sandwich" and it's in quotes. Do you like fat? You will love this sandwich

Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing restaurant and bar in Dallas. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing - everything I've tasted melted in my mouth. John makes the best cocktails in Dallas and Denis makes everyone feel at home. Highly recommend!

Came in a couple minutes after the kitchen closed & sat at the bar, I had a really bad sweet tooth & Oscar the bartender was able to snag me every flavor of ice cream they had! Even made me a special dessert rum chata drink! Service was beyond exceptional! The atmosphere is very relaxed & quiet & perfectly well lit! Oscar really mad a regular out of me.

We ordered room service while staying at the hotel this restaurant is located in and really liked the food! The fish and chips really surprised me. The batter was crispy and the fish inside was so flaky and tender. The edamame hummus was also really good and a little spicy. The pita that came with it wasn't great though. It wasn't toasted or heated up at all. It also came with long pieces of English cucumber that were really fresh and crispy. The shishito peppers were good, not the best I've ever had, but good enough. Would have been better with some rock salt flakes on it.

Striped sea bass from the NYE pre fixe menu.

I came here with my boyfriend for New Year's Eve 2015 dinner and Xmas Eve 2016, but the review below was for NYE. For New Year's Eve he made reservations and it turned out to be a pre fixe menu, which saddened me, because it's usually not as good anywhere you go. At best I have salivated over something on their regular menu, which now I can't have. Oh well it's often the case on holidays. From the minute we walked in they were very warm and welcoming. It had a nice ambience and they had New Year's Eve hats etc at the tables. The appetizers were ok, but my entree was great. I ended up going with the fish.

Fancy spot! You wouldn't mind if I review it, would you? Eating out in Dallas can get really…read moreexpensive, really quick. Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

We ate every drop the beurre blanc we could scoop up with the bread! - Fried wings - 10/10 - Velour Ceasar + shrimp 9/10. It was over dressed, but the dressing was good and it was a great portion for 1/2 sized. I normally ask for it on the side so that's truly my miss. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with making decisions for our meal and drink suggestions for my friend. This gem sits in Victory Park and has both in and outdoor seating options. On to dinner they had us in a room with a heavy curtail pulled over the opening, it worked well to isolate the noise, but the food was not aligned with the prices. I had eaten poke earlier in the day at another restaurant so was ready for more as an appetizer at JW. This ahi tuna crudo didn't have the best taste and while I won't say it wasn't fresh, I won't say it was either. I ordered a steak and it was ok but in a city where we can get great steak, this was not in the top 30. They at least validated valet parking.

The deviled eggs, dragon…read moreroll, and pigs in a blanket were all tasty, and that's honestly the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.
