Few places I've tried have lived up to my current leader (Blues BBQ) And I have yet to still try Buz & Neds... but anyway... Q BBQ passed the test. I favor Carolina over Memphis, but they had both options available at the catered event I went to. They also had an assortment of sauces. The mac & cheese was GOOD. Real good. I wasn't crazy about their bbq pulled chicken. I think it was the texture. I didn't try the beans (beans beans they're good for your heart.) The guys who were working the catering party were real nice and wanted to make sure you enjoyed it. I had heard good things about Q and was kind of excited about trying it out. It really looks like the new fad is having your order at the counter and then going and seating yourself, with them bringing your food to your table, finding you with they little red number they give ya. Sometimes I like this, sometimes I don't. For some reason I wasn't a big fan of this at Q. Maybe because I had to let 3-4 people by me first while I was trying to figure what I wanted from their menu overhead and behind the counter. I went with their salad with one meat and a small drink, which came out around $11.00. Me and my buddy sat outside, which I like they have outdoor seating. After a while the lady brought out our food, think it took her a minute to figure out we were actually outside. It looked like a good size portion, but when I started eating it, I realized it was mostly fluff. They cut up some Romain lettuce in big chunks and made it look bigger then it was. There were 2 cherry tomatoes that they cut in half and 5 slices of cucumber.. that's it to the salad. On the top in the middle they put an ice scooper of BBQ. The Pork BBQ was pretty good. Overall I thought it was good tasting, but for a $11 salad at lunch I felt it was way overpriced for what you actually got. I like Q's but the problem with this location is CONSISTENCY. I waited awhile before Yelping about this location and since then I've been to this location several times during different times of the week and what I found was that Friday afternoon is the worst time to eat there. Maybe someone is colored blind, maybe they are sacrificing quality for quantity, or maybe someone doesn't know what they are doing. The food, especially the ribs, were overcooked and dry. HOWEVER, other days that I've eaten there the food was a lot better. Of all days you would think they would pay extra attention on Friday afternoon. So I grew up eating Carolina Bbq. And while I do still love their Bbq, I have definitely fallen in love with Texas style Bbq at Q Barbeque. They give you a generous portion and it is amazing. They have different combos and sides you can choose from depending on how hungry you are! They also have diet Dr. Pepper lol, which makes me happy! I also love their potato salad, which was a complete surprise to me as I don't like any restaurant potato salad. It is made up of red potatoes I believe and is somewhat of a mixture between white and yellow color. It's absolutely perfect! And if you're looking for dessert, their coconut creme pie is to die for. We have eaten here 3 or 4 times now. Usually during the evening hours between 5 and 7pm passing through on our way back home from visiting a historical site. Seems like they are almost always out of brisket and burnt ends, when we stop for something to eat. The pulled pork and ribs are always delicious! And so are the sides, I always get the potato salad and pineapple hot dish. Hubby always gets the onion rings and pork n beans. The corn bread is delicious also! We went to this place mainly because Mission BBQ was further than we wanted to travel. I'm so glad we did. This place is amazing! I had the burnt end sandwich with coleslaw and the brazed greens. My girlfriend had the pulled chicken and pulled pork sandwich. We split the wings. Everything was fantastic! The meat fell off the bones of the wings and every bite was full of flavor. The pulled chicken was delicious and wasn't dry. Burnt ends and pulled pork were the star of the show. Service was fantastic as well. Everything came out within minutes of ordering. One of my favorite bbq places. Never disappointed in the meats. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes their side dishes are not consistent with flavor. For example, one week the corn pudding can be really tasty, and then the next time it's taste like it has no seasoning in it. However I've never had a complaint with the meat flavor. read more

Well I own a Food in SC and have been wanting to try this place out for awhile since I watch Tuffy all the time on TV. It's hard for me to understand how can you judge all this BBQ and Brisket and the food at your place is mediocre at best. This was actually really bad. The ribs were CRAZY salty to the point where I couldn't eat them. Chicken wings were bland. The pulled pork sandwich was tender but bland. Nice, clean place with friendly staff. You simply order at the counter and they give you a table placard and bring it out when ready. Ordered the sliced brisket and burnt ends. I'm a sucker for burnt ends and these didn't disappoint. The sliced brisket was tender and flavorful too. I liked the collards but they were a tad to vinegary for my taste. The Mac and cheese was good but nothing special. Cornbread was excellent. They have 4 different types of bbq sauce that are on each table. Sweet, hot, traditional and Carolina vinegar. The wings were good. The brisket was dry and a bit salty, and ribs were dry and forgettable. After paying 40 plus, we were left feeling hungry and a bit jipped. While driving north from North Carolina I wanted to try this bbq. I put the address in my (stupid) iPhone and proceeded to follow the route which lead me to a different bbq place. I had to find the correct place and then put it into the phone again and drove to this place through a residential/ small business area. This is my favorite BBQ place! My favorite is the pulled chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese and fries. I add their vinegar BBQ sauce and it makes it even better. We stayed in a local hotel by this eatery. We read the reviews and smelled the delicious aroma coming down the street. We walked into a very clean dining area with nice tables and a large order bar. The menu sign was easy to read and prices were good for bbque. Every employee was nice and helpful. The portions were very good for the cost. We were allowed to bring in our own water and share a plate for lunch. We don't like to eat heavy while traveling so this worked great. The food was delicious! We were very pleased with all of it!! Exciting to find out that this place is local and not a chain. The inside here is very clean. There was one TV on that had Saturday college football in the corner. My wife and I decided to split the pick 2 meats and 2 sides. We had brisket and pulled pork for our meats and beans and pineapple breading for sides. Splitting that meal I felt decently full. I was not impressed by the BBQ sauce and I thought the meat was a little dry. Beans were OK and my wife was not a fan of the pineapple breading. When you walk into Q you will typically be greeted quickly and with a smile. This is an order at the counter restaurant and they bring the food to your table. I have had the pork and the chicken barbecue and they are both excellent. I have to admit my favorite is their wings. For about $12.50 you get 12 delicious wings, they seem to be smoked and some sort of hybrid dry rub with a light brush of sauce at the end. Fantastic! I put them up there with some of the best wings I have had. You have to get the blue cheese with them, I believe it's made in house.
