This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. We went there for dinner. They had everything Chinese. Hot Pot, sushi, dumplings, fried rice and seafood. We ordered a few things. Shrimp fried rice, dumplings and sushi. People next to us had the hot pot. They said it was fantastic. Our fried rice was the best we've had in a long while. I wish we were here longer. We would definitively have come back for another meal. The service was excellent. Our waitress was always available and very helpful. I can highly recommend this place.

We wandered in here after seeing a sign knocked over by the wind advertising their happy hour and happy it was. The staff was friendly the service was quick. The drinks were absolutely a win. I got the Naruto cucumber roll and the crab rangoons and they were heavenly. I felt like I got my monies worth and more. The vibe is absolutely everything that this place needs to be.

I've never....EVER....been WOW'd by a Chinese restaurant as much as I was WOW'd by Q Restaurant. We were recently in Boston for a couple days and were looking for a restaurant with good Chinese food. The concierge at the hotel had one recommendation: Q Restaurant. The five of us made our way to Q, not having the slightest idea what to expect. It was a Friday evening so we naturally anticipated having to wait for a table. We didn't. We were taken right in and seated towards the back of the restaurant and almost immediately greeted by our server, Johnny. Johnny was, in a word, AbsolutelyFreakingAwesome. He was funny, he was helpful, he helped us navigate the GINORMOUS menu...and he was generally very cool. He also kept our drink refills filled. I'm not exaggerating when I say the menu was ginormous. I'm guessing 12 pages with every possible kind of Chinese(ish) food you can think of. Sushi. Hot Pots, Traditional Chinese. Sashimi's (I'm always glad I don't have lisp when I write that word). Dumplings...everything. There were five people in our party and we can be a handful. Just deciding on an appetizer can be a task, so we ended up with 3 or 4 that we shared amongst us. For my entrée I decided on Beef with Hot Peppers (not knowing how hot those peppers were going to be). I don't recall what everyone else had. Johnny said that the Beet with Hot Peppers was his favorite item on the menu. Our entrees came out about ten minutes later and everything looked and smelled absolutely delicious. I couldn't wait to dig into my entrée. Chopsticks in hand, I dug right now. Yea...those peppers were, indeed, hot. VERY hot. Good, but VERY hot. The beef was very tender and tasty. I could handle some of the peppers, but not all...and that's saying something because I LOVES me some hot peppers. Our entire party loved our entrees and we had an absolutely awesome time during our visit to Q. The staff was constantly on their feet delivering food, refilling drinks, cleaning table, and welcoming new diners. Top to bottom, our visit to Q and our time with Johnny was 100% awesome.

My second time here; food is fresh and delicious and service is very efficient. One of the few places where you don't smell strongly of hotpot when you leave! Lots of broth variety, including veggie, chicken, and beef-based soups. We got the beef platter (thinly sliced beef, shabu style) and mala beef (very tender and marinated in a spicy sauce), seafood platter, veggies, and some quail eggs. Prices were fairly reasonable given the variety, quality and amount of food

Loved this place, would recommend grabbing a reservation as it can be pretty busy. The lychee martinis were super strong but so worth your money and delicious. We did a sushi roll, avocado bomb and hot pot which were all so delicious. The menu is fairly large so there are options. It was a full and lively restaurant and lots of seats.

This is a nice Asian themed restaurant that specializes in hot pots. They have cozy boothe They have an extensive menu that includes Chinese dishes as well as sushi and Korean. Lychee martinis were incredible. The shrimp pad Thai was delicious and full of large shrimp. The calamari was the star and you HAVE to get this. It is outstanding. The soup (don't remember name) was enough to feed a family and it was sooo good! The servers were so nice and helpful even though we showed up near closing time. I very highly recommend.

A truly delightful experience. Hao Mikkie provided exceptional service and wonderful drinks !!! The crab Rangoon was the best I ever had. So light. So flakey/crisp.

This was my boyfriend and I first time getting hot pot! We did this on the whim around 8:30. The host squeezed us in and sat us at the counter top which was fine with us!! A reservation is recommended! You could see the chefs making the sushi! Everything smelled amazing. The waiter we had was so helpful!! He explained what broth was and what it was used for. He suggested a protein 2 veggies and noodles. We got crab Rangoon's to start..omg YUMM! The steamed soup dumpling had a good flavor as well although they don't specialize in this. We got the beef tray. This was an excellent choice! We got noodles which tasted amazing after in the sauce. We also ordered scallops that were fun to cook in the hotpot. The waiter even took the time to explain the soy sauce and add ons! We made our own sauce with the add on to dip our cooked items in-Delicious!! Cook Times the Waiter Told Us: Scallops: 5 minutes Noodles: 3-5 minutes Beef- 15 seconds medium rare 30 seconds well done Broccoli- 2 minutes although we let ours get a little softer! Keep stove 6/7 level go lower if bubbling!

Stopped into Chinatown around lunchtime today with no wait, always a win. Karen, our waitress, was engaging and personable. The spot was clean, and the vibe was on point. We did half tonkatsu / half Szechuan hot pot; broths could use a bit more personality. We didn't wait long for them to bring out our food. I ordered the seafood platter, vermicelli, veggie platter B, chicken, and bean curd. He got some kind of red meat (maybe sirloin?) and really liked it. You can also order sushi and traditional dishes if hot pot isn't your thing. Drinks and desserts looked good, but I didn't try them. À la carte came to about $100 for two. Bonus: parking garage next door and it's next to the Theatre District.

Great place to enjoy some fine dining. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The spicy tuna roll I got was a classic and satisfied my craving for sushi. The steamed chicken dumplings was a little bland but when mixed with my noodle dish it was delicious. I got the Mala noodle soup. It had a great distinct flavor and spice. It was light and refreshing to eat. Finished the entire bowl! It was affordable with it being in the city. Would love to come here again to try their hotpot

Went for lunch, my daughter got 3 hand rolls which were very good. They have a system where they have plastic wrapping in the hand rolls and it is removed before you eat in order to keep the seaweed crispy. Very appreciated and well thought out. Soup dumplings were amazing, with great sauce. Soup was a little plain but very delicious. The restaurant was very clean overall with very efficient service and the server was very kind and attentive as well.

Do they offer private events or full restaurant buy outs?

What is hotpot, and are the raw meats meant to be eaten raw, or do they cook it in front of you?

Hot Pot at restaurants allow you to pick a soup base, your food comes raw BUT you cook it in the boiling soup you picked out :)

Is it all you can eat hotpot or based on ordered dishes?

It's based on each broth and item/tray you order. Tons of options.

How safe is it for people with celiac disease( very severe gluten intolerance )to eat here ? What safety precautions are taken like separate utensils for cooking, separate ingredients?

It's not safe to eat here under any circumstances! This food is dangerous for your tastebuds! You'll wish you never tasted anything here!

Is the restaurant open regular hours again and is there a time limit for indoor dining?

We were there late November, and they were open and didn't rush us at all. I would call to be certain; but we were delighted to be back at Q, one of our Boston favorites!

Are there a lot of gluten free options?

Yes. Many of their dishes are just naturally gluten free, but they also have a separate gluten free menu. One of the most allergy / dietary need accommodating restaurants around.

How long does it take to eat here?

Hello, usually guest spends about an hour to an hour and half for their meal. It also depends on if you are doing hotpot or regular Chinese cuisine/sushi. But an hour and half is usually the most guest spends here.… Read more

Do they still offer lunch special?

4 pages long in the menu and just had it last week - yup!

Would Q Restaurant take a reservation for 10 on a Saturday night?

They typically only accept walk ins but maybe for large parties they would make an exception

Shanghai Classic Pork Pan-Fried Buns上海生煎饅頭: I was instantly hooked! It's hard to imagine finding such good pan-fried buns in the US. Almost every table ordered them, so they were all freshly made, piping hot. The bun was made with unleavened dough, making it chewy and refreshing, with a light, crispy bottom--not oily or hard. The meat filling was substantial and tender, with plenty of broth (see picture). It was sweeter than salty, incredibly umami. The chili oil was also very fragrant, and dipping it in Zhenjiang vinegar enhanced the flavor and cut through the greasiness. Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup雪菜肉絲麵: The noodles were thin and round, with a soft, mushy texture. While the noodles were clearly machine-made, this isn't a problem in the Yangtze River Delta region; the issue was likely overcooking. The shredded pork were well-stirred, with tender meat, but the noodles lacked flavor. They had to be eaten with the pickled mustard greens雪菜 to be slightly salty, and the umami flavor was severely diluted. The tableware is all disposable, and tipping is not mandatory. It's quite affordable.

Both Cantonese and Mandarin were seamlessly spoken. Shrimp Rice Roll / Egg: It looked very appealing. However, the soy sauce was ridiculously sweet, much sweeter than in China, completely exceeding the standard "umami and sweet" of the authentic Cantonese cheung fun腸粉 (rice roll) soy sauce. The cheung fun skin was somehow overcooked, so some parts without egg at the bottom were soggy from soaking in the soy sauce, making the whole roll quite greasy. I have to admire my culinary acumen: I managed to preserve most of the skin's basic texture with the extra egg. Fortunately, the shrimp were fresh enough, six in a serving, with a crispy texture. Oh well, since I'm in America, it's tolerable. I must say, I would never have come here specifically for this, never in my life. Spending $10+ on a plate of cheung fun after traveling so far, will make me feel more like a sucker than ever before!
