Absolutely delicious food, impeccable service, and convenient Orland location! I've visited this location several times when visiting my parents. After living in Hawaii for seven years, I'm very picky about the quality of Vietnamese/fusion cuisine. I've never been disappointed at Q! Every dish is packed with flavor and you can tell that they don't skimp on the quality of ingredients. For example, the summer sea rolls include the freshest vegetables and the hoisin sauce balances perfectly with the sweetness of the seafood. The chef and servers are very knowledgeable about the food and will gladly chat with you about any aspect of the dishes. I love learning about the inspiration behind my favorites, like the spicy sea. For those who might have concerns about the prices: you get what you pay for! The quality of the ingredients and the masterful concoctions of flavor mean that your meal will be exceptional. Great drinks , nice quiet atmosphere, modestly sized dining room. Clean and beautiful bar area. We got the fish cakes and some other apps and cocktails to start all delicious. We hadn't been here in years but remembered the French steak was great so we shared that and the sea bass in the pineapple curry, both were outstanding! Arrived early to our reservation so we all could try multiple martinis before eating, only to realize there is one waitress and one bartender for the entire restaurant. We tried the Cucumber, Pomegranate, Mango, Manhattan, Lemon Drop, Dirty and Lychee martinis- all were good except too much mango purée. For food we ordered the Malaysian Satay, Nem Nuong, Beef Lemongrass Spring rolls, Baby Q Ribs, Lemon Chicken, Seas Bass and Yellow Curry Chicken. However if you have ever seen the Seinfeld episode of the soup nazi ask the owner to omit a ingredient from one of her dishes and you will meet the Thai Nazi. If you have a food allergy don't eat here. Or if you have a ingredient you do not like don't eat here. We have been coming to this restaurant pretty much since the day they open their doors. It is owned and run by two sisters. The food is absolutely fantastic! I wish I could recommend one thing in particular but we have pretty much tried everything on the menu and everything is amazing. They have the most extensive martini list I have ever seen. Celebrating our anniversary at Q was phenomenal! The restaurant is very cute. They are practicing all the COVID related policies and we felt very safe dining indoors. Q has become a special occasion restaurant for both my husband and me. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Q is a high end restaurant in both service and quality. That being said, I was also trapped by Nosheen and his children- screaming, phone flash lights and rice thrown everywhere. Their presence almost ruined our dinner then fortunately, they left . In addition , he spoke rudely to one of the owners in public. It was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Nosheen, your kids are too young and poorly behaved to be at such an elegant restaurant. I strongly recommend a pizza place until the children are better controlled. Try to remember that adults go out to unwind after a long week and enjoy their companions on a Friday night. How have I not written a review about this place yet!! It is one of the only restaurants in the area that I would encourage my friends from the city to come out and try. Not only is the food delicious, the drinks on point, a nice date night decor but the owners are just fantastic. They are involved in every aspect of the business from cooking, hospitality and killer drink making. Once a month they have live music that always is a ball. If you've never been to Q, you're missing out! It's one of, if not the best restaurants in the South/Southwest burbs. Being back in town for our anniversary, we knew there was no better place to go than Q. The cocktails and martinis are fabulous, but their entrees are second to none. Over the years, I've had almost all of the entrees on the menu and you can't go wrong. This night, my wife and I shared the Sesame Duck and Sea Bass. The Sesame Duck is a Vietnamese take on Duck à l'orange. I could drink the orange cognac sauce that comes with it. The Sea Bass comes over a pineapple curry that is to die for. I cleaned the bowl because there was no way i wasn't eating it all. For dessert we split the chocolate mascarpone cake and a pumpkin martini. The cake was very good and not too sweet. The martini is made with whisky and a homemade pumpkin puree. It's sweet, creamy, and warm with pumpkin pie spice. The owner was incredibly friendly and recommended several similar options in Southern California, where we now live. read more

The lady at the front was very nice, even though I didn't have a reservation and probably wasn't appropriate dressed, she said it's ok you can sit down and eat. Visiting this restaurant was a family project. My oldest daughter found it on Yelp and my youngest went with me! We loved it! The restaurant is very chic and classy but understated. The furniture is modern but comfortable and the tables are nicely spaced, you have room and privacy. My daughter had a hearty soup and I had a delicious chicken dish with rice. I loved every single grain of food on my plate! My daughter adored her soup as well which surprised me, she tends to be very picky. When we tried Q Restaurant last night on the rave recommendation of a friend, the first thing our server said to us was, "This must be your first time here because I don't recognize you." That's a sign that this Vietnamese-French fusion restaurant that opened in July already has some regular customers, which is good because I really want this place to succeed! The cuisine is as excellent as anything you would expect to find in a high-end restaurant in the city, and it's always nice to see something different like this in the southern suburbs. The chef, Quee (hence the name of the restaurant, although it's pronounced more like "Kay"), is all of 26 years old and was trained at Le Cordon Bleu, while her sister Quan (aka Ellie) and her brother-in-law run the dining room and the bar, which carries a good, decently-priced wine selection and some interesting martinis. The menu is mostly Vietnamese with a few Thai and French dishes, also.(The French influence, of course, comes from that period in history when colonization used to be all the rage.) After the hubby and I split an appetizer of Mayonnaise Seafood Rolls coated with crispy panko breadcrumbs, I had the Seafood Lover entrée -- a mixture of crunchy vegetables and fresh seafood such as scallops, shrimp, crab meat and calamari in a spicy brandy red curry sauce, surrounded by a corona of crispy noodles and garnished with a flower. My husband went with the French Beefsteak, which was actually a high-end version of steak and eggs that turned out to be a family recipe from the sisters' grandfather -- a juicy filet mignon and two sunny-side up eggs swimming in a sea of brandy-accented jus. (Ellie said her grandfather used to slurp up the excess juice right from the dish, but since we're not used to doing that in a restaurant, she kindly put it in a container for us to take home.) Dessert was a luscious banana bread pudding with white chocolate and raspberry coulis for me, and tiramisu topped with an interesting green tea-flavored mascarpone for the hubby. Like many suburban restaurants, Q Restaurant is located in a strip mall, in this case behind a Starbucks on 159th Street, just west of the intersection of 159th and Wolf Road. The décor is understated yet elegant, with contemporary furnishings and Asian touches in the decoration. Our total tab for the night, including the gratuity and a bottle of 2010 Terrazas Altos del Plata Malbec wine, was $166, which is a bit pricey by suburban standards but hey -- you get what you pay for. If you want cheap food, there's millions of other places to go. I thought it was worth it for the first-rate cuisine and service. We'll be back! read more

We were little surprised. . The whole entire time, they had a very rude tonality when asking questions. I had no problem with the questions but it was asked in a very aggressive/rude way. Finally, when we asked them to split the check for us, one server just walked passed us saying she had to help another customer. (hmm...) And when we finally got to our server, she outright said 'no' to splitting the check amongst our party. The food honestly was sub-par and definitely not something I would rave about. At least they could have made it up with better customer service if they were offering a higher price for typical food menu. I understand this is a private business and they can do what they want. But as a customer who can choose to "vote with their dollars", I have no plans to return to this restaurant and won't recommend it to others who is considering. I hope the restaurant improves. We came with our friends who live near by, we had no expectations; from the outside looks ok, nothing extraordinary, it was kind of empty and we thought it was a bad sign... we could not have been more wrong! We were seated immediately and received our appetizer and salad not long after ordering. The appetizer and salad were excellent. But... we waited over 45 minutes for our entrees. We understand and accept that there are unforeseen incidences that may cause a delay in food preparation. But... not once did our server or the owner (who also waits on customers) stop by our table to let us know why or to apologize for the delay. The entrees were average at best. The next day we contacted the owner by e-mail to let her know how we felt ignored and that this was not good business practice. We are 70ish in age and do believe that may have been part of the problem - we didn't matter. We never heard a word back from the owner with an explanation, apology, nothing!
