Qdoba is a great place for quickly prepared food. I'm usually in and out within 10-15 minutes. It's nice how they prepare the food. I guess you could say it's "Subway-style," because the food is made to order. They mostly have burritos but also serve quesadillas, chips/salsa, and I believe tacos, but I've only had the burritos. My favorites are the Queso and Ranchero Burritos. The only thing that sometimes bugs me is that there will be 1-2 other workers there who may not acknowledge you as you wait for service... But I think their food is yummy so it's not that big of a deal. Plus, they have their own version of a rewards card that you have them swipe when you pay for your food. I hate writing anything bad about a place, but when I saw the average rating for this place was almost 5 stars, I had to say something. Being from southern California, and growing up in a city with more hispanics than whites, I know good Mexican food - and this is not it. While the staff is indeed very friendly wonderful [based on the 3 times I've been], the food is just not up to par with their obvious competitor, Chipotle. First off, they steam their tortillas, giving them a pasty texture that is both bland and uninviting. Their carne asada [steak] is lacking flavor and has been dry both times I've had it. The chocolate chip cookie was boring and stale. The Dr. Pepper was flat, which is the highest offense for me - and admitted Dr. Pepper addict. :) So, if you want something that will fill you up while not having to wait all that long, eat here. Hands down worst service at any Qdoba. Every time I asked for any items on my burrito he would literally grab the item and throw it on the burrito. Then when I asked for more he grabbed a tiny pinch and put it on the burrito and looked at me sarcastically. Then he kept trying to roll up the burrito every time I asked for anything else and would tell me to hurry up and choose. I will not visit this location again under any circumstances. read more

Finally a fast-food Mexican food place on Mercer Island! For fast Mexican food, this place is much better than taco time or taco bell. The food is fresh and put together on the spot by friendly staff. The restaurant is well lit and includes al fresco dining. Great taste and friendly employees. However, sometimes they will put a ridiculous amount in my burrito and do an ass job of wrapping it cos they have no way of properly securing it from leaking. I'm constantly having to pick food out of my burrito because it is overflowing with food. Yes that is a good thing cos the burritos are big but come on, don't try and wrap a burrito you know you can't do properly right in front of your customer. For a company meeting this Qdoba location catered and delivered a taco bar for 15 people. There were only 12 people at the meeting so a taco bar for 15 people should have been plenty of food. That was not the case! We ran out of everything except the tortilla chips. Even the hot sauce container was scraped clean. I spoke to the manager and she claimed that we received the amount of food that we should have. I am not happy with her response to my complaint. I have gotten catering from Qdoba before and have never had an issue. Unfortunately for them they have lost my catering business. I grew up in Los Angeles and lived in Eastern WA for 5 years. I know Mexican food and can cook Mexican food. This place is not it. It's very similar to Chipotle. It's Americanized Mexican food. You know it's not legit when they put sour cream and cheddar cheese in the burritos. So this is what I had: Beef nachos ($7). It was actually of decent size and didn't tasted bad. But they didn't give all that much meat. Double meat burrito. Seeing that they didn't put that much meat on my nachos, I asked for chicken and beef in my burrito. Still they were light on it. They stuffed the burrito with rice and beans. By the way, the rice wasn't all that good. It tasted like Uncle Bens, with cilantro bits. If you don't care about authenticity and like Taco Bell type Mexican food, then this place is for you. I know going out to eat isn't always about the food. Sometimes it's about the company you're with. So if my friends really want to go, I might tag along. Otherwise, I wouldn't go back there. read more

This qdoba location is better than a lot of others. The prices have gone up but they are not completely unreasonable. The quality of the food is fairly high and the establishment is consistently clean. Staff are hit or miss, sometimes greeting you and being prompt with your order, other times they are awkward, clumsy, and unwilling to make any sort of social exchange. Can get extremely busy at times such as the weekend dinner rush, but overall the establishment and food are good. read more

Dearest Qdoba, I have given you many chances in life to wow me with something, something! Anything. But time and time again you have let me down. I want to like you, I really do! If you look at my review track record I always try to find the best in every place I eat at. But I honestly can't say that I enjoy anything that you have made for me. Burritos needed more spice and flavor, your guacomole didn't have enough salt or lemon in it, your nachos made me feel sad eating it - not enough cheese, sour cream guacomole or salsa. I do remember lots of cheese though. I cleaned up the top and what remained on my plate were 2/3 of the nachos, bare and alone. If you could put more salt and pepper and lemon in your guacomole, I swear anything with it will taste doubly as good. Your quesadilla is quite up to par, cheesy and warm. But let's face it, it's not hard to mess up quesadilla. It's tortilla and cheese. As I am still trying to find that one thing that will wow me, I will say that your location is great, there is convenient parking, nice people, clean bathroom and free water! Heh. This location REEEEAAAAALLLY needs to train their employees how to roll a proper burrito. Hell, I'll teach them. It honestly looks like they just crumple the whole thing into a coin purse shape and try as hard as they can to wrap it in tin foil. What are you doing?! Have you ever even seen a burrito before?! Fold the sides in, then roll. It's not hard. Next time (if there is a next time) I'm gonna request I roll the damn thing myself. I've been here a total of 3 times in the past couple of months and each person who makes my food messes it up some how. Managers, GM's, District Manager, franchisee, if you're reading, demand that your employees watch a YouTube tutorial on how to roll a proper burrito before they're allowed on the line. EVERYTIME my girlfriend and I go we just watch the line cook..... can they do it? Can they do it???? Nope. They cant. AT ALL. And then I laugh out loud and they look at me like I just saw a murder. Well I did. You just murdered my perfectly fine burrito. I'm sure you're wondering "well he probably gets too many things in his burrito, that's why they can't roll it properly". HAH! Nope. I don't. I get the normal amount of things in my burrito and it's still a half open, dripping mess. I'd advise who ever is reading this, opt out of getting the burrito and get a bowl instead. Love everything about qdoba, I frequent qdoba a lot and have no problems with the staff or the food but don't understand why the doors to restaurant rah time hey close sound like a bomb is going off and it is shaking the entire restaurant, you need to get some bumpers or some of those things that make the doors close slowly. I'm a little disappointed with this Qdoba because I have had better elsewhere and I love their concept. The burritos are usually jammed with rice, beans, meat and cheese rolled with a soft flour tortilla. I get tired with the attitude of the girl that always makes my burritos, she doesn't listen well and is on automatic pilot. Sometimes my order lacks the spices and flavor I've had elsewhere. However the gentleman at the register I don't know if he is the owner or manager but he is great and tries hard. If you really want to see something cool go to this location just for the soda dispenser. It's awesome! It's all touch screen and offers all kinds of flavors to add in your everyday soda to add a zing. I like the coke with lime. It dispenses lime juice in your coke making it a green tinge. read more

The food that is served here is really quite tasty, so we visit here when we are in the area. The reason that I didn't rate it higher is because of the Qdoba Rewards program. In the past, you used one of their branded cards to accumulate points. Now, you have to count on a purchase code being printed at the bottom of your receipt in order to register your points online. Not a major inconvenience, but in my last several visits to this and their other locations on Mercer Island and Seattle, I have had to BEG for a code because the register does not print them out automatically. The manager has been very accommodating in trying to resolve the problem, but he admitted that he isn't sure why the code doesn't appear and he isn't sure how to generate it. I will probably still visit Qdoba in the future, but it always nags at me when I look at my receipt and the code isn't there. I have pointed out this problem to Qdoba customer service when I fill out their surveys and have asked them to call me back several times. They never do. I tend to frequent Taco Time a little more often now because their rewards program is far superior and their food is just as good. read more

I asked for steak burrito and the crew member didn't even make an attempt to wrap it. He said I can't and but it in a bowl. I work in the fast food industry and was able to wrap it myself once I got home. I wouldn't be upset if the person tried an attempt but was LAZY. The manager there was just glaring at me like crazy, giving me dirty looks more than once. I feel like I should announce that I am a big Baja Fresh fan. I like Chipotle, but not as much. I think what I like about Baja compared to Chipotle is their rice and the fact they grill the tortilla with all the ingredients in it so their cheese melts whereas Chipotle adds cheese in front of you. Qdoba is like Chipotle where it's like a Mexican Subway and you build your burrito right in front of you. They have a lot of interesting items like a Pesto Chicken Burrito, but make sure you specify that is what you want because the workers there are like in robot-mode and just make every burrito like it's normal. Their meat is so-so, kind of burnt and weird in spots, so I often get the vegetarian burrito (same at Chipotle). They have good guac, okay chips and GREAT brownies! How weird, huh? There are still a lot of items I'd like to try, but for the most part you can really make it work into some dish you'll like. Same priced as either Baja or Chipotle. read more

Manager was not polite or helpful when we still didn't have our food, almost 1.5 hours after the delivery was supposed to be made. We have now paid for a company lunch that is ruined.
