found these on a whim because i was craving noodle soup and was tired of eating the same rotation of noodle soups in the area. the house potato noodle was sooo delicious -- very mala-y and full of veggies. the wood ear was a lot softer than i expected but it was a nice addition to oiliness of the other dishes. the wheat noodles were pretty mid in my opinion but it was refreshing i guess. the BEST dish i've had in awhile was the chicken bone jerky. everything about the marinade and the amount of seasoning was soooo perfect. texture, flavor, and value was 10/10.

This spot is low-key hidden in San Gabriel Valley, They only serve five things, but every single one hits. You have to get the potato noodles. they're super bouncy, elastic, kinda chewy in a way that's actually fun to eat. Way better texture than regular noodles. broth is flavorful, and it doesn't make you crazy thirsty after, so I'm guessing they don't load it up with fake seasoning. Just clean, solid flavor. Also, do not skip the chicken breast -- the street-style fried kind (街边炸鸡柳). The seasoning is special ! Crispy outside, juicy inside, exactly how it should be. Try the grilled chicken bones. Yeah, actual bones with some meat on them. I was skeptical too, but they're packed with flavor and weirdly addictive. Service is good, friendly , place not big , but super clean , an interesting place for small groups to grab some quick food

Parking is located inside the building which you can access from the side or you can park on the street. The price of this place is phenomenal and the portions is huge. I love how much comes in the bowl and that you could add more things for extra if you'd like. I think the included ingredients are already very tasty. I feel like Chinese restaurants always do different styles of the same dishes but the wood ear mushrooms here are packed with flavor. I got the potato noodles with seafood and I enjoyed how chewy the noodles were and all the ingredients. They have Chinese TV in the background that has English subtitles so if you're curious you can tune in and read. I will definitely come back again!

Located in a two story parking structure, this restaurant can be easily missed. There is plenty of parking. It can get dark with some dim lighting especially in the stairwell. The restaurant itself is small with only 4-5 small tables and a few counter seats. Ambiance was good with Chinese music playing from the TV. There appears to only be two employees. A guy took our order pretty quickly. There isn't much on the menu. We got the special homemade potato vermicelli ($13) with the homemade meatballs. You can choose the spice level. It was in a big ceramic pot and you can tell it was freshly boiled cause you can still see the soup bubbling. The noodles are super chewy. The meatballs were disappointing with questionable texture. The frozen ones taste better than theirs. It comes with a big portion of noodles, some enoki mushrooms, bokchoy, black fungus, seaweed, and tofu skin. The broth was super clear but also savory.

Came here on a whim after dropping my car off for an alignment. We shared a potato noodle and the fried chicken bones. The noodles were well priced and was pretty decently sized. It was our first time trying potato noodles. The texture was interesting, but quite tasty. Good chewiness to it. We got mild spice and was a lil spicier than most other mild places. Nose was running a little. The fried chicken was meh. I think a lot of people order it, but it wasn't our thing. It was on the sweet side, which I don't prefer my fried chicken to be. Also it was way too bony and hard to eat. But for me, it was the taste. Did not like the taste. Maybe that's how northern chinese people like. Would not get again. Tried eating it but ended up tossing the rest of it. Couldn't force myself to eat it. Would come back for noodles, but not the chicken.

Good noodles, if you like Chinese food-- you must be try. To be honest, the main customers of this restaurant are Chinese people living in the United States, which explains why they have little comments on Yelp. Because they use other Chinese takeaway software. If you want to try this restaurant, then you should really try it! This is the authentic Chinese taste.

Ya'll, this little shop is so good! I found this place on Yelp a while ago but due to very little reviews, never tried it. Today I was feeling adventurous and decided to stop by and it was the best decision ever! I thought it was going to be a smol shop with little to no customers but to my surprise this place was PACKED for lunch on a Wednesday. I ordered the special handmade potato vermicelli with meatballs, mild spicy. Portion is generous - I filled four bowls of noodle and soup. Potato noodles were delightfully chewy and delicious. I found the mild to be pretty spicy haha. Everyone around me also ordered the qq chicken bones and it smelled amazing! You do have go wait a bit for your noodles - I waited about 20-25 minutes. Super small shop, located in a structure that has plenty of parking. Same structure as Edible Arrangements!

Like others said, this place is in a sketchy plaza, but everything changes once you enter the store. You are greeted by the warm and cozy feeling of a small restaurant with nice decor and happy people. I went in around 6:20PM and had to wait a good 30mins before being seated, even though there were empty tables. I ordered a a potato noodle bowl, shenyang QQ chicken, and a what gluten noodle. You are able to somewhat customize the noodle bowl with toppings and spice levels. The noodles are sooo chewy, but the broth was one dimensional. The toppings and noodles are also plentiful, but I don't recall there being any protein in the base order I ordered. The Shenyang QQ chicken was definitely the star of the show due to its flavor, albeit the meat quantity was small due to the amount of bones. For your protein fix, I recommend ordering this dish, as it adds a different flavor and texture. Service attitude could've been better, as our server appeared rude when seating and taking our order. They were dismissive and after every item, kept saying "and then what" in Chinese. Overall though, given the limited choices of potato noodles, this place is a decently priced and portioned spot to go to if you're ever craving that texture.

I've been waiting for ages for potato noodles to make its way to SGV, so I was incredibly excited to try JCHF. Note that the menu is very limited. It's a small shop that is evidently family owned and run by women (from what I could tell). I ordered a steamy bowl of potato noodle with all toppings. For $13, the portion was quite large, but I do wish there were more toppings. The house made noodles are satisfyingly chewy. I would have preferred soup a bolder soup with more depth, as it was kind of one dimensional. However, adding black vinegar helped elevate the dish a bit more to a hot and sour type flavor. WARNING: they do not accept credit cards; only cash, zelle, and Venmo All in all, I'm glad there is a dedicated potato noodle shop in SGV, but would only recommend to those who are partial to the northern Chinese palate.

OMG what a find! Looks like this place quietly opened in San Gabriel. When I saw this place on yelp, I was just hungry and wanted noodles and thought this looks interesting. I ordered the first item on the menu and did not have any expectations. When the bowl came out, it was bubbling. The noodles are chewy and its mixed with long dried tofu strips and dried kelp. The broth is similar to the spicy mala broth in hot pot. It has texture and flavor. So delicious! YUM! Their menu is really small and their staff speaks Chinese and a little English. Free parking in parking lot.

The food is so authentic and delicious.

JCHF Potato Noodle is a solid spot for noodles in San Gabriel and they have phenomenal fried chicken! I never had potato noodles before and was interested to try when recommended to come here by a friend, I was definitely not disappointed! The noodles are very different from wheat noodles and they are very soft and "QQ". This did make it a bit difficult to eat as I either had to take big mouthfuls or try to bite off the noodles which took a bit of effort but it was definitely worth it! The toppings that come with it are solid too, I liked the tofu skin, bok choy, and bit of seaweed! I didn't really like the meatball though and would recommend the fish balls instead. However, the main attraction was the fried chicken which was absolutely delicious! It has a really nice fry to it as it's crispy but flavorful and really supported the sweet soy taste it had! Definitely try the fried chicken if you go! The service wasn't too bad, it's a small restaurant and there aren't many workers which makes service slower than other large restaurants. We also ended up waiting around 30-40 minutes for a table since they only had around 6 that were all full and around 25-30 minutes for our food plus an additional 15 for the fried chicken to come out. Honestly wasn't even that bad of a wait but just something to keep in mind. The restaurant itself was small like I mentioned before and only has around 6 tables to sit at so it does feel a bit tight. They also have a small bar seating area too for solo diners but I'm not sure it gets used much since nobody was on it when we were there. Overall, I'd say to give JCHF Potato Noodle a try and definitely try the fried chicken, you won't regret it!

Tried JCHF Potato Noodle for the first time today and it was SOOOOOOO GOOD. I'm not saying I'm a hot pot connoisseur but I've eaten at my fair share of hot pot restaurants and this place is top tier!!!!!!!!!! The menu is pretty simple--I got the potato noodles and added beef. The noodles come with preset veggies and ingredients but you can add more that you like!! And OMG the soup is SO deep and flavorful. The ingredients are also super fresh and the potato noodles are especially so chewy and bouncy -drool- loved every bite!!!!! I got it for takeout but I'm really excited to go back and try it in person!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLEASE GO PEOPLE!!!

Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. We ordered the Hu Tieu Thap Cam (large noodles), Banh Bot Chien, and Dau Cha Quay as an appetizer. The Bot Chien came out first after about 20 minutes. My soup didn't arrive until 15 minutes after that, and the Dau Cha Quay? We had to ask four times before it finally showed up -- by which point we were nearly done eating. As for the food itself, my Hu Tieu Thap Cam was a disappointment. A large bowl that was mostly noodles, with just two shrimp, a single slice of liver, barely a teaspoon of ground beef, and a few thin slivers of chicken. The veggie toppings were just as sparse. For what's supposed to be a hearty noodle soup, it felt like a bowl of afterthoughts. I hate writing reviews like this because I genuinely used to love this place. But the combination of slow, uncoordinated service and underwhelming portions makes it hard to recommend.

I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

I know they owned Killer Noodle and brought it back for a day or so during some weeks, but still. I feel like I can partly blame those who can't handle spice, numbing or not, and or people with generally normie tastes. Anyways, enough of that diatribe. Parking can get horrible and fisted here, even though there's parking in the pit. The best bet is to just park at the 99 Ranch Market across the street and walk over. This restaurant also gets super busy too and there's limited tables and seating inside for how popular it is. They did collabs too, like the Naruto one. There were instructions on how to properly eat tsukemen and staff was friendly and polite too. I know they tried to make the ambiance a bit nicer and fancier, but with the constant slew of customers and people, you can only do so much. Since it's a tsukemen restaurant, I always just got tsukemen here. I'd get the spicy chashu tsukemen. Comes with a generous portion of chashu pork and is made with their homemade spices. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, a slice of lime to squeeze in for taste, green onions and a sheet nori. After dipping the noodles, you can ask for soup wari to eat the rest of the broth in. It's a delicious and hefty portion and sorta justifies the $30 for a bowl of tsukemen thing. Flavorful broth with a depth of delicious spices. Nice thick noodles that absorb the broth nicely. I like that you get a good amount of chashu. Adding the lime makes the noodles a bit more refreshing if you get a bit tired of the taste. Spicy doesn't make it spicy at all, but at the very least gave a bit of heat to it. There's other Tsujitas out there, just now a bit farther.
