Really wanted to check this place out so we showed up on a Friday night with low expectations to actually play. It was really busy, but we didn't have a problem getting in the door and the bartender still welcomed us instantly and we had a drink after a couple minutes, even though the bar was packed. We got on the list to play pool and it was a 2 1/2 hour wait but I wasn't really surprised with it being in Los Angeles and such a lively spot we played shuffleboard to kill some time we had dinner and drinks it was pretty damn expensive. I probably spent a little over $200 between Pool, shuffleboard and drinks and food for just me and my girl. But once again it seems normal for Los Angeles. The staff was very attentive and very nice even though you can tell people kept bugging them about wanting to play. I even saw a guy offer the guy money to get pumped on the list and he was shut down. It's very clean inside in the bathrooms were always available. We'll definitely be back. read more

Very nice experience! The waitress was sweet and friendly and the bar offered good selections of food and drinks. Players were polite to each other and made us feel good. We played for well over an hour and the manager didn't charge us for overtime. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and soft music background. The seven tables on the Wilshire street level are okay, but the tables are better on the upper floor. The private lounge on the upper level has a bar and two billiard tables of top quality and several dining tables for the witnesses of a big stakes game, whenever it comes. Last but not least is the big parking lot in the back of the building where a comfortable parking space is assigned for disabled people near the back door. Went to watch a world cup game and got terrible service from our waitress. She came to our table twice just to get orders. Continuously rolled her eyes and wouldn't respond to any of our questions about the menu. We ended up serving ourselves plates, silverware, and water from the bar after our waitress left for 30 minutes. If you come to Qs and your server is a blonde woman with a half tattoo sleeve on one arm and full sleeve on the other, you're better off going to a different bar. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Q's Billiard Club, which basically means that even though everything about this place should make me hate it, I always end up here for some reason. Yes, the food is awful. Like much worse than typical bar food. Yes, it gets entirely too crowded on the weekends. Yes, the wait to get a pool table can be longer than the hour you actually want to spend playing pool. But the drinks are reasonably priced, the atmosphere/crowd is fun, and the bartenders are on top of it! All in all, you have to take Q's for what it is--a sports bar and pool hall. If you skip the food and come for the games and drinks, it'll be a lot of fun! I'm not a fan of places where you just stand around and drink in a "cool environment", dropping extra money to sit in a "vintage booth" and sip on overpriced "craft" cocktails, so a more casual place like this with pool tables and arcade games to keep me busy is ideal for me! 4+ I've been coming here for over 20 years now. I wouldn't say frequently, but definitely been here many times over the years. Just a great sports bar with plenty of TV's playing whatever sports are going on at the time. Lots of pool tables and great amount of space that continues to the second floor. I would say the food is solid especially in terms of bar food. The vibe here seems to be chill most of the time as in I never really got a sense of pretentiousness from the folks here or other patrons for the most part. The drink and beer prices are always more than reasonable. You're not going to find super high end bourbons/ whiskeys, but definitely a solid selection. Definitely leans towards a UCLA crowd which makes sense given the location. Also, a reason I've been here so much is because I go with friends that went to UCLA, haha. There's plenty of parking in the area and have been able to find parking relatively close by or by my buddy's apartment when he lived in the area and just walked over. Come to find out they do last call an hour early and don't let any other customers come in 10 minutes after 1 o'clock when service hours end at 2 AM. He's intentional with his service, always attentive, mb this sounds cringe but he refills your water--without you having to ask. Q's is a giant two-story sports bar with a bunch of billiard/pool tables where all football games are playing at the same time, and all of the Sunday patrons get along even though they're rooting for different teams. It's a beautiful thing. You'll hear random claps and cheers from around the bar when their team scores. There's extra camaraderie when you see someone in their gear rooting for the same team, and the chill youthful staff does a fine job. Although they don't allow substitutions on their burgers, if you're lactose intolerant and don't eat bacon, they'll let you put the blue cheese crumbles and bacon on the side for the Cobb Salad ($17) that also has the basic romaine, hard boiled egg, grilled chicken, diced tomato, avocado slices, and ranch dressing. A nice spot if you're looking for a casual sports bar in the Santa Monica neighborhood. We've been a couple times when there's a game on since it's a pretty spacious bar with two levels. The first floor has plenty of billiards tables you can hop on and you can order some food at the bar if you're looking for a snack to nibble on while you root for your favorite team. I've been coming to Q's for over 10 years, and sadly, this will be my last time. First off, it's Los Angeles -- home of the Rams -- and this bar has about 30 TVs. Yet somehow, they only had the game showing on two of them. When I asked if they could switch a few more over, I was told they couldn't do it. Not exactly the kind of atmosphere you'd expect for a Sunday football outing. We moved to another section and ordered the chicken nachos. What arrived was basically chips, cheese, and some chicken tossed on top -- dry, bland, and disappointing. Honestly, some of the worst nachos I've had at a bar. The service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either -- just forgettable. And the whole place felt dead. It gave the impression that nobody was really managing the place. As someone who has supported this bar for years, it's sad to see how poorly run it's become. I won't be back for Sunday football again, and judging by how empty it was, I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way. read more

Compared to other establishments in area, Qs mixes the sports vibe of Thunderbird (which is a tad too "contemporary" for me, with the traditional old man bar feel of Mom's. So, if you don't feel like going further west to Sonny's or O'Briens this is a great choice for drinking or watching. Needed a place to find the Tennessee-Gamecocks game (I wish I skipped it... Vols lost to South Carolina? Seriously?) and found Qs -- which was kind enough to give me a screen as the rest of the patrons were there to watch UCLA vs USC. In addition to their kindness of tuning in the game, this is simply a great place to watch a game as well as just to bend an elbow. Good selection of IPAs, though I'd like to see them add a porter or stout other than Guinness. Food was surprisingly good, and was served quickly considering how busy it was. Very cool bar staff. Door guy rejected my REAL ID. Actually embarrassing the direction the establishment has gone in recent years. Just wanted to go and play some pool with my cousin, who also happens to be 6 YEARS SOBER (100% of age). I don't know it was a really uncomfortable interaction, I even offered to show the man my passport and he said "no get the fuck out of here" so then I responded with similar aggression. Was so glad to walk in here on a Friday night and find plenty of options for seating. Seating at the bar was pretty packed, but we were a party of 5 so we were okay with the space. The waitress came right away with menus and was very friendly. We ordered drinks and appetizers, they came out in a respectable time, then we ordered food and asked about pool tables. She let us know she would put our name on a list and it was $14 to play. She did say it would be about a 1-2 hour wait. (gah). We added our name to the list and enjoyed our appetizers, and then our food. The food is typical bar food, burgers, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fries, other friend stuff, chips & guac/salsa, etc. The chips and guac were not too shabby, and I really enjoyed my cowboy burger with sweet potato fries. A couple of the other girls ordered chicken wings/chicken tenders and asked for a side of parmesan garlic fries and we wish the waitress would have suggested a shared side. When you know portions are large, it's okay to put it out there that they are sharing size!! :) So we were getting through our meal and still waiting for a pool table. Then we finished, asked for boxes, another round of beverages and we are still waiting for a pool table. Then we ask for another round of beverages and a couple of us take the food back to the car, and we are still waiting for a pool table. At this point we sent someone to ask about our wait and the waitress said there were 2 people ahead of us. I didn't expect it to be a 15 minute wait, but we were already hitting the 2 hour mark of waiting, and we were getting antsy. Finally, she called our name, and she takes us to one of tables upstairs, thankfully it was a solo pool table with lots of space to sit around it, so we ended up being somewhat secluded from others, and it was nice. We decided that the location was primo and were okay waiting for that spot. The upstairs bar was a lot quicker with drinks too, but the waitress still came up and checked on us! I think tables have an 1.5 time limit, and we got ours a little bit after midnight and stayed until close. :) It was a good time. We closed out the night and were overall appreciative of such a chill first night of the weekend. Even with the couple of sloppy drunks here, I would happily recommend this place to folks who are coming to this area. read more

I rarely leave reviews like this, but Qs made it hard not to. Walked in hoping for a chill night left wondering how this place is still in business. The staff felt completely checked out. Slow service, no acknowledgment, and an attitude like you were bothering them just by ordering a drink. Tried to play pool, got charged more than what was listed. When I asked about it, the answer was basically a shrug. The whole experience felt like a place that's coasting on reputation but no longer cares. Great establishment with an awesome vibe -- would've loved to leave a higher rating. Unfortunately, our experience was really affected by the bartender upstairs named "Ten." She was noticeably rude and treated male guests very differently than female ones. We watched as at least 8 parties were served before us, even though we'd been waiting longer. When we got here tonight we were in a fantastic mood. We sat down at the bar and the bartenders and us clearly made eye contact several times as they were all hanging out, and yet nobody came to say hi for a strange amount of time. Finally the guy with a mustache and black hair came up and we asked him if there happened to be any cinco de mayo discounts and, instead of being kind with good service, or at least saying some thing at all (basic adult communication) he just shook his head and threw a menu, literally threw a menu down right in our faces and walked off. I came on a Thursday with my registered service dog that is a small dog that helps me with my Tourette's disease and was denied of entry. I tried to show their security guard, my dogs identification, which then brought over the man who was a blonde hair Lucia Z. Who would not even look at my dog ID nor give me the time of day.. as a local of Santa Monica and somebody that has a serious condition and was willing to take myself out one night while a friend was in town. I was very much let down as we wanted to play pool.. I tried to show this person my identification for my dog and they denied me. I tried to show all the proper identification in this establishment decided to deny me and instead showed me nothing but hate and discrimination against my dog. I understand that there are bigger dogs that helped people with service vets, but they have a sign that literally size service animals only and I literally showed them the service animal identification, and they denied me. I understand that establishments are supposed to decide who and allow what customers are allowed to be inside however, I felt this time was seriously something that had nothing to do with other than how small my dog was whether or not they decide my dog was observed as that was not for them to decide and I feel that this is something that we need to work on. I do have a problem and I really do take my dog with me and this was a big opportunity for me to go out with the people that I really like tonight and have a game of pool It's really unfortunate because I ended up just going home. read more

This pains me to write because this was my and many of my close friends' local bar... but once it sold out to Barney's, it's been a dumpster fire. Prices for food are out of control, you can get similar price points at BALTAIRE, a near 5 star restaurant with edible, well cooked food. Service is nearly non existent now, it's nothing but a revolving door of servers that would rather not provide service. Sports bar? No. If anyone has been here in the calendar year 2024, you know that they have more TVs showing infomercials and IFC than sports. Came here to watch the LA Kings, on a weeknight... they had everything but on.. including a Nebraska volleyball game. I've spent my last dime here, save yourself and go get a real experience at Auld fella next door or Thunderbird...they actually WANT you there. read more
