This restaurant is a hidden gem! It's not so famous and well known as other Halal restaurants in the Bay Area. Anyways I was driving past and was hungry, so I checked HFSAA's website to see if any restaurants in Richmond area are certified and found this restaurant, (I only go to certified restaurants) so I went there and Boy I was in a for a surprise. Q's Halal Pizza: A hidden gem in Richmond. One of the best halal pizza and gyro spots in the bay that has lots of variety. My personal favorite is the Mama Mary's pizza, which comes with lamb gyro, pepperoni, and red onions. The value and size of the pizza is excellent given the affordable pricing. I'm also a major fan of the quesadilla, which has a nice Desi twist to it. Located down the street from Masjid-al-Rahman in Richmond, I visit this place pretty often and have tried many of their items, which almost never disappoint. The restaurant management is very friendly and have always been open to customer suggestions for improving the experience. Oh and did I forget to mention that they're HFSAA Certified? I was coaching at a basketball tournament at Salesian, and had a couple hours in between. Did a quick search on Yelp and lucked out in finding Q's. Looking for the place and then a spot to park, it's a little bit sketchy of a neighborhood. But that's where some of the best restaurants are situated. When I got there, the owner and his daughter were working. I told them it was my first time and what would they recommend. The daughter recommended the chicken gyro, the dad recommended the beef/lamb gyro, so I went with that. I told them I wanted to see if it was really 5 stars, if it was, I would review them and if not, I wouldn't, because I don't wanna be the guy that ruins their perfect rating lol. Well to my pleasant surprise, I was able to confirm it was a legit 5 stars. Very high quality ingredients, fresh, attention to detail in the preparation and presentation. Even the waffle fries were really good, which was an afterthought while ordering. I told them I've traveled the world, had Mediterranean food in Greece, Turkey, Halal food In NY, LA and SF. Their food is right there for authenticity, and deserve to be recognized. To top it off, the people are so warm, genuine and friendly. You can tell they have real character and are in the business because they want to make people happy. That's what it should be all about, but sadly,'only a few really get that. I'm excited to try their pizza and wings next time, and other items on their menu. Always a solid reasonably priced meal. We like the lamb gyro as a wrap or a salad. The falafel wrap and plate a very good. Tonight we had their mango lassi for the first time (I think it is new) and it was a good lassi. If you order a wrap as a meal, you'll get waffle cut seasoned fries and a can of soda. The food is always plentiful and fresh. A meal will fill up someone with a hearty appetite. The service is friendly. They recently expanded into the space next door so there are plenty of tables if you want to dine in. The pizza is not my favorite. I prefer a thin crust east coast style which this is not. The crust isn't thick, but it isn't thin either. The upside is that it won't go soggy. If that is your style of pizza, they'll make a nice pie for you. Ordered a Large Extra cheese with 1/2 Pepperoni and OMG. The Large is a beast of a pizza(20 inches). This is how it should be done. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate the pizza a 7. Passing through the area and looked for high rated, budget conscious place. This came up accompanied by lots of reviews. I decided to order a small, since reviewers said it was huge. It is. Asked for the combo. It was made to order. I agree with other reviewers that it definitely needs more sauce. It was moderately high with cheese. Flavor was good but average. They offered us Parmesan, chili flakes, and ranch dressing. There is ketchup and hot sauce on the table. But the bottles haven't been washed in ages. They'll stick to your hand. The crust is a bit thicker than thin and could have been cooked a bit longer as only the edges were crispy. The center was droopy and I prefer a crisp crust through and through. Lamb has good flavor. Would prefer smaller dice more evenly spread on top. Pretty spartan pepperoni. I felt like I ate a ton of cheese. Staff is super nice and checked in to see if we needed anything regularly. I would consider returning to try a gyro, but the bread looks too thick for my liking. All in all, it's not bad. And it's worth supporting. But Rosso in Santa Rosa and Petaluma hold the title for best pizza in the country to date. read more

This is my new favorite "go-to" pizza shop. Had a pizza craving and didn't feel like any of the usual options (Round Table OR Pizza Hut) so checked Yelp out to see what was in the area. I was shocked to see 5 stars and had to try it out. This is hands down one of the best pizza's I've had in a while. Crust is thin and perfect, ingredients are fresh and pie is cooked to perfection (no burnt ends). We've had the Veggie Delight and the Smoky - both were delish. Ordered a medium veggie delight pizza. It was really big for a medium. I read a few reviews and thought this pizza would be good. My family and I thought the pizza was dry from the cheese down to the sauce. I had to open the pizza to see if the sauce was put on there. I ordered Q's Halal Pizza for an event at UC Berkeley and I've got to say this is the halal pizza I've had in the Bay! I ordered 7 large pizzas (2 veggie, 2 chicken, 1 gyro and 2 pepperoni). I was able to snag a slice of the chicken, pepperoni and veggie and I have to say that the chicken was DELICIOUS. Everyone at the event loved the chicken pizza and people took seconds and thirds of the pizza! This place is IT! Halal with tons of options! So far we've tried the Gyro salad, wings and lamb philly The lamb Philly cheesesteak was so amazing and mouth watering. I was in love! The fries were good too. Salad had a lot of meat and was also very good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the wings (give me BBQ wings any day lol) but hubby enjoyed it. We will be back! I've passed by this small hole in the wall many many times before but I won't try a new pizza place without a review. Yelp to the rescue as usual and as a small business owner myself who knows the value of Yelp reviews I want to share the love for this yummie new find. My favorite pizza is pepperoni mushroom and pineapple. The crust is the right amount of dough and crispness! A flavorful mix of cheese and had to stop myself from eating more than half the small pizza, which was quite large and a value compared to the prices I've paid elsewhere lately. The shop is small and clean and the owners are very cordial. They also cook from scratch middle eastern food that's looks delicious and can't wait to experience the rest of the menu.
