I got a Rose tea with strawberry hearts. The drink was absolutely delicious! My issue is with the "package" of the drink. The straw is too small to suck up the strawberry hearts. My friend and I ran into the same issue and we had to scoop up the hearts with a spoon, not very fun. The other issue is that the plastic circle in the lid that you poke through to insert the straw actually ends up in the drink. I felt the plastic in my mouth! I could have easily swallowed the plastic piece on accident, which is pretty dangerous. Overall, the drink itself tastes fantastic but the straw/cup aren't good. read more

A cute hidden spot in the Castro that is definitely comparable to Boba Guys nearby in the Mission (especially the Strawberry Matcha Latte). DRINK: This time, I ordered the Dirty Panda or a Roasted Oolong Creama in other milk tea locations. This one is topped with a sprinkle of Oreo Cookie crumbles which adds a light flavor of childhood to my regular. I'm aware of the two ways to enjoy creamas but the staff suggested to mix the tea, cream and Oreo before drinking. Before mixing, you can sample the tea (just satisfactory) itself and adjust how much cream and a but Oreo you get by the tilt. After mixing, it was quite a different drink. My only complaint is the extra cream and boba in proportion to the tea at the end of my drink. PRICE: The drink itself is $5.50 while a regular Roasted Oolong Creama in the Bay is would come out to a maximum of $5. Add an topping and it comes out to $6. It's pretty much the same pricing as Boba Guys. I'm not a huge fan of the egg pudding (too firm) and the boba (too chewy). I'd check in with Yelp to get the free topping instead. Not bad, not great. I wouldn't put it as my top favorite boba places, but if I needed a spot around the Castro area, it would do the job. I got the matcha latte and it was okay, the powder definitely wasn't completely dissolved yet and had many chunks on the bottom. My friend got a normal jasmine milk tea with boba. Qualitea has some quality tea! (I had to) Good amount of seating indoor + outdoor, interesting tea combos, and there's also a few board games to play. They're particularly good at fruity teas and use real fruit, but their milk teas are also tasty. Alternative milk options such as soy and almond are available in place of cream or whole milk. They're a tad more expensive than your average boba shop, but not obscenely so. Think Boba Guys pricing. read more

Went to QualiTea after dinner tonight and tried the Dirty Panda. It was really good! I'm not used to the salted Cheese but it was a nice touch to balance the drink out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, they even were helpful with suggestions of what type of drink to get. The environment was relaxed and they had some games to play if you want to just hang out. So disappointed. I've been wanting to come here for so long too. I got their deluxe punch which straight up tasted like fruity orange soda with boba and a hint of mango from the mango stars. If I knew the orange slices would overpower the whole drink, I would had probably asked for no oranges. My bf got the pink sparkle and immediately regretted it after trying it and throwing it away. I had a couple of sips and I agreed because his drink just tasted like strawberry sprite. We were actually debating if we should had gotten the matcha blossom and jasmine milk tea instead which would had probably have been a better choice. I'm so excited that this place has opened! I do my laundry at the Sit & Spin behind this place, and I don't drink coffee, so the past two cafes that were here didn't get any business from me... I love that I can do my laundry and get boba while I wait. Not to mention that the customer service is great (they happily redid two peoples drinks just because it was too sweet while I've been sitting here) and the shop is a cute place to work. I ordered the Pink Sparkle from their menu on my first visit. Although it was a little sweet, I liked that they used sparkling water for the strawberry tea. The drink had chunks of strawberries, making it very refreshing. I would definitely order this on a warm day! I also got to try two other drinks: The Deluxe Punch and The Taro Kisses. I liked that the Taro Kisses included chunks of real taro at the bottom. I thought that the Deluxe Punch will probably my go-to if I don't want dairy in my tea. Qualitea offers new takes on classic tea and milktea flavors. Their menu includes Matcha Blossom (a crowd favorite) and Rose Petal (instagram-worthy). Last Sunday, I got to try their Matcha Blossom. It is similar to Boba Guys' Strawberry Matcha Latte, but they are able to adjust the sweetness level (unlike Boba Guys). A boba spot in the Castro was sorely needed and i think that QualiTea is a great addition. The place opens up at 12pm and I was warmly greeted by the owner. The logo of the place looks very similar to another recent entry in the SF boba market Urban Ritual but these two places are not related. I got my standard milk tea with boba and had to wait a couple minutes for the boba (which was not a problem). I enjoy the sealed plastic cups just because they are easier for transportation however this place has the hard plastic covers a lot of the newer venues are moving to. The owner indicated that they cook their boba every 3 hours which is good and keeps the boba fairly fresh. 100 % sugar here I feel is like most places , however I usually like mine a little sweeter so I was pleased to hear the owner ask/offer to adjust if I needed any.
