No need to haggle -- they gave me the lowest price upfront. I had already bought my own parts, and while many shops either refused to do the work unless I bought parts through them or quoted me significantly higher labor costs, Quality Automotive welcomed me with no issues. What really stood out was that I ended up getting both my bearings and brakes replaced here -- and I still paid less than what other places wanted just for the bearings alone. I actually made an Excel sheet comparing prices, shop policies, and whether they accept customer-supplied parts, and this place beat everyone. If anyone's curious, I'd be happy to share that breakdown. I also made a mistake and bought the wrong brake parts from AutoZone. Since my car was already being worked on, I had no way to get there -- but one of the mechanics offered me a ride. That kind of thing doesn't happen at most shops. Like to give Francisco love for being honest, timely, and informative as he serviced my vehicle. Initially, I took my vehicle to Santa Monica Lexus where they quoted me $9000 to replace my head gasket and rear brakes! I got a second opinion of the diagnostics of the vehicle, and it turned out the head gasket did not need replacing. All that was recommended was replacing the spark plugs and ignition coils and the rear brakes. The second shop quoted me $1400 for spark plugs and coils plus $560 for rear brakes. This quote seemed way over priced too. I called Francisco at Quality Automotive and he quoted me $1000 for coils, spark plugs, and new rear rotors and brake pads. i've been taking my cars to Robert at Quality Automotive since 2004. Having four teenagers driving old beaters meant we became regulars there, and Robert joked that he singlehandedly maintained our "family fleet". Robert always took excellent care of all the vehicles to keep them functional and safe, and though the years worked on no less than twelve or thirteen of ours. Every time he gave us a spot-on diagnosis, and a repair or replacement that never failed us. His price was always fair and his workmanship his best advertisement. I was frustrated at my local Midas car shop--my car would have trouble starting and despite me trying to address this issue with Midas, they told me my battery was fine. Probably 2 weeks later, my car wouldn't start so I had it towed to Quality Automotive per a friend's recommendation. Didn't take long to find out the starter was the issue. Now I go here for all my routine oil changes and other fixes and I'm curious about the detailing service! Francisco is patient and good with keeping an open line of communication of updates on your car status. Really great service, I would highly recommend! On May 24th. I was at QUALITY. I asked how much it costs to change the front brake pads. The employee told me $160. I had brought new brake pads. I was able to wait right away and two employees got to work. One probably had some problems changing and it didn't go ahead. I saw brake fluid leaking out from under the car for a long time. After a while they were done. I wanted to leave and noticed something was wrong. the brake pedal could almost be pushed through and it was soft when pedalling. I said something is wrong here. did they vent properly? there is air in the system. the employee told me. we do not vent. just change that. I would have to pay another 80 dollars to bleed it. that's rip off. Bleeding is necessary when changing the brake pads. just for safety. after a discussion they did the vent for $40. I had to sign first. that they do not assume any guarantee after venting. in the end i paid 200 dollars. a very bad workshop. it's all about the money. and safety doesn't matter. I thought it might be the transmission and I expected having to get rid of the car soon anyways. Francisco made time to get my car checked immediately without any appointment. Within a couple of minutes I got the diagnosis. While waiting, Francisco gave me some valuable advice of which cars to get and which I should avoid at my next purchase. As I don't live far, I went back home to get my pink slip and Francisco took care of the rest! He gave me $100 for the car (which he would get from the junkyard later) and called the company to pick up my car. I got everything out of my car and Francisco insisted of Louise driving me back to my house as he didn't want me to walk all the way home with two bags and a backpack. My experience here was amazing and I am so happy that I found them! They are upright people and fast and professional mechanics that know their cars well! This place is amazing. The first time I came here was for an oil change and a tune up. They explained things and let me know when I could pick up my car (they offered to drop me off at work too!). They were accommodating as I came in right as they opened with a lot of cars waiting for them. Recently, I planned on taking a road trip and dropped my car off super last minute to ensure everything is smooth. They let me know they'd need to work on and Francisco would be willing to wait a few minutes after closing to let me pick up my car. They are so amazing! They destroyed the upholstery on my car door while trying to fix the window. I took my car there for 2 things to be fixed. They only fixed one of the 2 and still charged me the full amount. Francisco was rude and unprofessional about not fixing both issues and still charging for both. It was only after I left that i noticed that the upholstery on my door was ripped. This is not going to be an easy fix, and it will be expensive. I didn't want anybody at this car repair shop to touch my car ever again, and I despised seeing Francisco again, so I never went back.
