I am pleasantly pleasantly surprised at how savory raw vegan food can be! I stumbled upon this place because I was searching for gluten-free food to go for lunch. I've perused this area of Burlingame before but never noticed them! I stopped in and just picked up some nori rolls. Everything is convenient made and packaged which is just what I need because I wanted something I could pick up fast and eat at the office during my busy work day. My disclosure is that I am not vegan; don't hate me but I love meat! So I was incredibly impressed that these nori rolls with mock tuna paste tastes just like a real sushi roll with fish in it -- but it's not meat at all! And the portions are perfect: I was satisfied and not groggy either. No post-lunch daze for me! I will have to come back and try other goodies. read more

Wow! The food here is fantastic! I shared a bunch of food with a friend and everything was delicious. We shared the nori wrap with faux tuna. It has organic almonds and sunflower seeds, tahini, celery, red onion, parsley, lemon, garlic, kelp, nori, avocado (when available), carrot, arugula, romaine and salt. It was $7.99. We also shared the Thai wrap, $8.99. It has organic romaine, red cabbage, walnuts, red bell peppers, dates, green onions, carrots, celery, cucumber, sesame seeds, ginger, spearmint, cilantro, Tamari soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, tahini, sesame oil, garlic and red pepper flakes in a raw dehydrated coconut wrap. The no bean hummus is also very good. It's $3.79. It has organic walnuts, zucchini, sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon, garlic, cayenne and salt. The mint chocolate chip cheesecake was my favorite thing, $6.99. The crust was made of organic almonds, dates, cocoa powder and salt. Filling: Organic cashews, almond milk, coconut sugar, coconut oil, cocoa powder, sunflower lecithin, peppermint flavoring, vanilla and salt. The chocolate torte was $5.99 and made of organic almonds, avocado, dates, cocoa powder, coconut sugar, coconut flakes, salt and vanilla. It was very good but not as amazing as the mint dessert, in my opinion. For my drink I had the banana kale smoothie. I know it sounds weird but it was amazing. It was sweet like a banana. Came here for the first time the other day. And was happy I found a place where I could literally have everything in the store, with me having such severe allergy issues this place was perfect. There were three ladies working there when I walked in, and all of them were very friendly, and helpful. I got to sample four different items. I guess everyone loves the mock tuna pate, but I wasn't really a fan. I ended up with three different items... Curry Carnival-$6.50 This was delicious, kind of pricey, but I dipped the tamari crisps in it, and it was so good. Beet Salad-$5.00 This was very good too, I liked the spearmint in it. Tamari Crisps-$4.00 I liked these so much I wish I would have gotten a second bag. They had a nice kick to them with the cayenne. I gave it four stars, because of the prices, and the hours. :/ I go to school, and on very rare occasions am going to be able to come over here. Really cute grab-and-go spot with lots of vegan options! We picked up: -- Almond Milk and Strawberry Smoothie // So silky, simple and delicious! Almost had the consistency of a milkshake. A nice little pick me up without the guilt! -- Gazpacho // Packed with flavor and a great light lunch or snack. Perfect for a hot day. -- Bloom Kombucha on Tap // One of the best kombucha drinks I've ever had. On tap is always better since it has that nice carbonation and a bit lighter on the funk. -- Kale, Tomato, Avocado Salad // Again, super refreshing with a nice acidic and lightly sweet dressing. Everything we had was delicious, fresh and satisfying. The cherry on top is everything is prepared right there so you know it's as fresh as can be. Prices were a teensy bit high on items that I don't think require as much work as others (salad, kombucha) but I didn't feel robbed by any means and I know vegan / raw ingredients are not cheap. I'm sorry but for the price, the food items here always disappoint. I ended up spending over $25 for a small chia pudding, a "burrito" with tiny amounts of walnut filling and tiny and dry "scones". I appreciate the effort but vegan food has come such a long way and this ridiculous bird food is an old school version. I miss the amazing vegan places in nyc with hearty, creative dishes that are satisfying and while a bit pricey, you get your money's worth in the form of big salads, bowls and wraps filled with delicious hearty ingredients, creative sauces, etc. I hope the owners take note! read more

My wife and I were in town for a fitness conference and I was lucky enough to find this place on Yelp (thank you yelp!). I hustled over and ordered the Poquito burrito and the mock tuna Nori roll. They were both amazing but I think flavor and texture profiles of the burrito, and vegetable-based wrap changed the way I think about raw foods. I'm a big veggie fan. But I can't really live without cheese, milk, or eggs, so it's a stretch to eat vegan, especially when vegan food can be more processed than plain vegetarian food (seitan anyone?) I sorta like my food cooked as well...so I was really skeptical of this place give that it is both vegan AND raw. The store itself is just a take-out counter, with a little glass shelf where you can see what the day's selections are. You can also eat them making the food right there. After trying the mock tuna, I ended up picking up the nori rolls, alfredo linguine, and a piece of NY cheesecake. First, I need to remember that pasta is NOT raw. So, the "linguine" is really just a bed of nicely chopped cucumbers. Second, cream is NOT vegan. The "alfredo" is pureed nuts and avocado and all sorts of veggie goodness mixed together. However, this dish was delicious! It definitely tastes better than on first sight, and I can eat it as a creamy salad any day. The nori roll consists of mock tuna and a bunch of other veggies. Unfortunately nori tends to get soggy over time, so it was quite difficult to bite into. The mock tuna was wonderful, but overall the rolls were a bit dull and can get boring after a couple bites. It needs some more sauce I think. And the NY cheesecake...I personally think it's a crime to substitute graham cracker or oreo pie crusts. Also I had it sitting in the fridge for around 3 hours before getting to it, and it was looking more like jello than cheesecake. Ergo, not a big fan of this. Overall the food was good (minus the dessert), way better than I thought possible. If you're into that whole vegan/raw food thing, I can imagine that this is one of the best places possible to grab a bite. However, since I have more choices than this, I probably won't be back often, considering that each item is pretty pricey, and you have to get 2-3 items to get full off it. read more

Okay. I happened to be in the area during work so I decided to try Que SeRaw SeRaw. I'm a vegan on the journey to become fully raw. It's definitely been a challenge. Anyways, I ordered the coffee swirl cheesecake, pesto pizza, overnight oats, raw naan, and hummus. OMG. EVERYTHING is AMAZING. My favorite is the pesto pizza and the coffee swirl cheesecake. This establishment is what makes eating raw easier and ENJOYABLE. I cannot thank them enough for providing such great food. I wish they meal prepped!!! Amazing!! I've been a customer for 9 years. Delicious no doubt. During lunch today I picked up 3 items, Pesto Pizza, Thai Wrap, cucumber soup and by far the pizza was my favorite. I am a fan of the KALE SALAD! I probably get it about once a week - either from Que seRaw seRaw or from Earthbeam next door. Today, along with the kale salad, I picked up the savory fruit salad...ugh. Ingredients list: organic romas, mangos (sic), grapes, sesame/sunflower seeds, salt, long pepper. Sounds good, right? But it's ucky. The too-much salt and peper only serve to bring out the tomato taste. The mango is cut into itsy-bitsy flecks. I counted 10 of these tiny pieces. C'mon. I just bought a bag of Manila mangoes for $1.00/mango. I was able to pick out the grapes and rinse them since they were left whole (thank you for that). Cut back on the pepper and salt, up the portion of mangoes, and let the flavors of the fruit speak for themselves. please. In the meantime, I'll stick to the kale salad - yum! read more

Love this place! My favorite is the mock tuna nori roll or mock tuna Pate. Go when they open and any leftovers are slightly cheaper. Do note that the salmon and tuna alternate days. My other favorites are the Pequito burrito which has the right amount of crunch and spicy. I personally do not like rice in my burrito or the flour tortilla as it makes me feel sick but this one is light, flavorful and delicious. If you are lucky the no bean hummus is amazing. It's spicy and filling but a bit watery. I like the dragon crackers but just tried to tamari crackers which are way better. I'm not a smoothie fan but the strawberry one was delicious and thick, almost like a milkshake. The mint chocolate cheesecake was my favorite dessert as I am a huge fan of mint. I can't wait to try to soups and other items. This is a great place is you are doing a keto diet, just no desserts, salad (honey in the dressing) or smoothies (unless kale only). Apparently neither I or the BFF did our homework on our after-yoga eats because we walked into Que SeRaw SeRaw expecting a sit down place. To-go orders only..okay, we can roll with the punches. The cashier let us sample about half the items on their menu. We decided on: - kale salad for the BFF (i hate kale!) - veggie lasagna (zucchini strips with a tomato sauce, arugula & the "cheese" is made from macadamia nuts.) Taste was a little boring, would not order again. - tamari crisps & almond cheese pate--So good. I could probably finish two servings all on my own! - white chocolate mocha cheesecake for the BFF which melted before he had a chance to eat it. I'm not in this area often enough to be a fan of QSS. Plus, I prefer Cafe Gratitude so that's where you'll find me when a raw food craving strikes. The one thing that irritated me a little was when we asked for a bag (we'd ordered five containers worth of food), the cashier told us to "save the planet" & kind of refused to give us one. I'm sure if we insisted she would have given us one but pushing her opinion on us is part of the reason I probably won't return. Whatever, I know everyone is on this "green" kick but if I want a bag so that I don't drop the food I just paid for, I'd rather have the bag than a self-righteous hippy telling me what to do. The Fantastic-4 walked around the busy Broadway Strip of Burlingame. We found this cute little healthful vegan place off the strip that specialized in fresh gourmet and organic items. This is another one of Yelp's favorite with the sticker on the main glass door. As we stepped into this little shop, the busy lady who might be the owner gave us an educational and historical background lecture on promoting the world to healthy food. She'll know that the healthy process will be a baby-step process and everybody will be eating healthy and live a long life. As evidence shown by looking at her and revealing her age to us, it can be possible for us. But me, I need my weekly burrito and eating healthy will come around eventually. The lady gave each of us a sample of her Kale, Cauliflower and Cabbage salad. The mixture of the leafy green vegetables might sound repugnant, but surprisingly it didn't taste all that bad. Maybe I should promote my kids to eat more green vegetables than eating a cupcake or fro-yo with dad. After her inspirational story, we were encouraging enough to purchase two of the Almond-Milk with Banana. The $4.50 drink had Almond-milk, banana puree, taste of cocoa and other healthy ingredients including soy in a 12 oz. coffee cup. That thick and healthy drink tasted like a smoothie. If only I can obtain the recipe from her, it's a drink we can definitely drink happily everyday and not feel guilty. We also bought a small container of Vegan Coconut Macaroon. For $4.00, you get four Coconut Macaroon made with the freshest "organic" ingredients. Yes with the unique taste, they were healthy and tasty. Yes, I paid our healthy snacks with cash, but assumingly this healthy store does accept credit cards. We also gained a free advice on a healthy life. Now we're thinking about it. read more

It is rough... Really it is a love hate relationship. Let moi explain: So after eons of trying to get in here, I finally tried out what could very well be and probably is the only vegan 'restaurant' in Burlingame. +1 for that. Then the paradox(es)- Being especially hungry today, it was easy to gripe to myself about the small portion sizes; however looks can be deceiving. In this case they were. Despite it all, I was stuffed and satisfied. This was after a pesto pizza, mock-tuna pat and two macaroons. + 1 And these prices are killing me, them and everyone else. It is conflicting though. It is worth the price, don't get me wrong. In this case you get what you pay for but healthful, compassionate eating should not be exclusive to those who can't afford it. In turn that mentality has made health in America a luxury. Perhaps this in not a gripe about this place especially... but rather in general. +1 Aside from that and despite my objections this is a solid and well executed establishment. A word to the owners/management would be that the points mentioned above should be considered and not met with resistance. The only inexcusable offense is their over use of plastics in their packaging. Besides being harmful to ones health, a meal from Que seRaw seRaw generates quite a lot of waste. Paper containers or the option to bring your own would be healthful and much more sustainable. Very good, though. read more

I heard this was the place to try raw food without having change my life. It was true. . . but the food was so good it made me WANT to change! I'd never had raw food before, but heard it was all natural, great for me, pretty expensive and time intensive to make. I had to go out of my way to come to Que SeRaw SeRaw, and it was SO worth it!! I had promised to share my experience with a group in San Jose. So I ordered one of everything in the cool-case. I did so one at a time after having the adorable counter gal tell me in mouthwatering-enthusiastic-detail what was in each item. She was obviously excited and proud about the food and it was a pleasure working with her. When I got lunch to San Jose, four of us shared each item. All of us loved every morsel. We had fabulous everythings including "BLONDIE" macaroons which were amazing. It was obvious the ingredients were extraordinarily fresh, lots of hand preparation created the wealth of flavors and someone proudly put lots of love into each dish. Our foursome included an 83 year old woman from Missouri, an 81 year old man from Latvia, a picky 46 year old meat-a-tarrian linebacker and a curious 45 year old woman. I go here about once a week after yoga, decked out in my stretchy pants and ready to keep my mellow rolling with some raw foods. Yeah, apparently I've turned into one of those people. But anyways, early-midlife-crisis aside, Que SeRaw is awesome. Be aware that this is a grab-and-go place, meaning that there is no real seating to speak of, but there are tons of tasty things to take out the door, and for raw food, it's pretty reasonably priced, with salads and lunch items around $5-8 each and desserts around $3-6. My favorites so far are the nori rolls, the cheesecake (I tried the mocha flavor the other day...WHOA, deliciousness!), and those bags of little chocolate chip cookies, which I buy thinking that I will bring home but end up scarfing down wildly in the car like a hippie cookie monster fiend. The hours here are limited but if you get there too late, you can go to the little health food store next door, which carries a bunch of their stuff in the cold case. read more

I. Am. Still. Hungry. Yes, the "pizza" was very fresh- great flavor, awesome ingredients, but the portions! My gosh. I found myself playing that CitiBank commercial over and over in my mind.. the one where a cute couple goes to a fancy-shmancy restaurant that serves them "elf food", only to find themselves buying two bags full of twinkies, ho-ho's, and cheetos to fill their hunger afterwards. That was us. The boy and I ate dinner at 5pm that night. I would have needed THREE of Que seRaw's pseudo-pizzas to be satisfied. And at $7 a pop, um..my lunch would have been $21 + tax. Kinda steep, huh? Although I very much enjoyed the freshness of my dish, I couldn't help but think that I was essentially just eating a large walnut/flaxseed cracker with zucchini/pesto topping. And then I questioned whether or not eating three of those large crackers would even do it. Hm. Still, if I could afford it, I would definitely eat more raw vegan cuisine. I felt so much healthier (albeit hungrier) for the rest of the afternoon. Bring extra lunch money people, or suffer the consequences of that couple from the commercial. *Just a small irk I had with the packaging: the pizza container was a large plastic snap-lid box that could have fit 3-4 times the amount of food- an enormous waste of plastic IMO. Check the price of Chemo from pesticides and GMO's if you want expensive. You have to pay to make sure you get something that will not kill you and you know what is in the food. Back in the area visiting and my good friend took me to lunch here. (Hi Jennifer Tran!) I wanted a healthy option and I just LOVE the name of this place. So clever. I really enjoyed the Kale salad and the "Chocolate Chip cookies". The cookie is not a typical cookie, so don't expect that. It's kind of a squishy, cold, almost cookie batter type cookie. If you're not Vegan or typically don't eat Vegan, just don't expect a regular cookie. It's one of those places where the portions look tiny and the price tags look big, but the food is fresh and you don't leave feeling sluggish or tired. It's a perfect place for me to lunch! Easiest to just find Earthbeam Natural Foods (at the corner), then find parking and then walk to find the small store front. It's small inside, set up deli-style. I'm not a raw vegan by any stretch of the imagination. However, I was very pleasantly surprised when I had lunch here. The food was flavorful and all the ingredients are listed on each item so you know exactly what you're eating! Fast Food Gourmet Raw Food..heck ya! They make Raw DELICIOUS, this isn't just your TGIFriday's house salad... the "not-so-cheeze" is broccoli, yams, cashews and other deliciousness pureed to taste like a creamy cheese dip has fooled ALL of my hardest critics (ages 4-31) I purchased a whole "cheesecake" (the white chocolate mocha) for my birthday which as every guest excliamed "OUT OF THIS WORLD" AND completely RAW.. Pretty much anything you get from there is amazing, the only one thing I wasn't a Huge fan of was the pumpkin pie/cheesecake... I think it's mainly because I LOVE pumpkin, and I think they use sweetpotato.... not sure, but texture was off, i wouldn't want that to be your first experience and then not like it...
