    Turkey torta(half), drink and chips
    Sylvia F.

Ordered a turkey torta for lunch. It's big split it with my Mom. Bread is fresh and toasted, fresh ingredients too. It was delicious! The staff is friendly too. We will come back again. Highly recommend this place.

    Torta

I have consumed lots of tortas luckily in my life . From asadas to carnitas to everything in between. This morning I was craving a torta; and figured I'd look in my new neighborhood. The tortas and menu at this place aren't super traditional so I was a bit confused . I decided to order the "Que torta" Confusion over . Just get that . It's so good I may even name my first son "Que torta"

This place has sooo much to offer ! From a quick bite to desserts, smoothies, fruit juices, Tortas... they have something for everyone ! Definitely recommend. They place Spanish music and it's pretty mellow.

Walked in to find very friendly staff and a very clean restaurant. I ordered a small acai bowl and I customized it with no banana or strawberries but added pineapple. The portion was large and the pineapple was fresh and delicious. They also have the lowest prices I have found in town for Acai Bowls.

    Strawberry/banana/pineapple smoothie-very refreshing.

Brought my lovely wife here for a quick lunch, because she pack a lunch. I've been here before for smoothies and fresh fruit, but never had a torta before. Smoothies and fresh fruit are always fresh, but nothing out of this world. Tortas are their specialty and boy do they make them right. Service-Good, not amazing and not bad. Not much to say about employees. Decor-Basic Mexican fruit joint with fresh fruit case and large menu on wall. It's located in small strip with other restaurants and easily missed if not focused. Food-Fruit is always fresh and their smoothies are pretty good, but their crown jewel is definitely the tortas. We ate "Que Torta", their special if you will. It was awesome! Packed with flavor and a great mixture of salty meat with the right balance of veggies and chipotle sauce. It is also huge, easily shareable between two people. Bread is toasted just enough and everything else is perfectly blended. Tip-Share a torta and get fresh fruit to finish meal.

Just got this açaí bowl home and 2 bites in, I pull this out....
    Leah S.

Pulled a hair out of my açaí bowl this morning. Disgusting. I dug around making sure it wasn't just sitting on the surface and possibly came from me, but no. As I tried to show in the photos, it was partially buried under the honey and fruit and I really had to pull it out. So gross. What a bummer, I liked them

How good was my experience at Old World Meat Company? So good, I cried. I grew up eating Balkan…read morefood and my first bite of the cevap (minced meat sausage but there is no casing; just the meat hand-formed and grilled) tasted like "the olden days" and tears started flowing because of the happy memories and flavors it brought back. Bosko and his family own, operate, and create the menu at this restaurant and they are friendly and welcoming and passionate about the food and service they offer, and it felt like coming home. The Food: I had the Mixed Plate, which comes with grilled minced meat sausage, grilled pork shoulder and a side of coleslaw (prepared the Balkan way with oil and vinegar). I chose the Balkan toppings, so the meat was served on a naan type bread topped with the Balkan toppings which consists of white onions, kajmak (feta cheese/cream/butter spread), diced bell peppers, and ajvar (bell pepper and eggplant spread). The sausage is perfectly seasoned, the pork shoulder tender. A friend and I also shared a half-order of Balkan Fries with sausage topped with Balkan toppings. The combination of the fries, sausage and toppings is a tantalizing, mouth-watering marriage of flavors. Bosko brought a sample of the chicken since we hadn't ordered it and it was full of flavor and oh so tender. If you've never had Balkan food, you are in for a very delicious treat. The first time you eat here, I suggest you get the Mixed Plate with Balkan Toppings. Ask them to add a side of chicken to your plate so you can sample that too. I think you'll find you've died and gone to Balkan heaven. If you want to know what every person of Balkan heritage grew up eating, this is what we were eating. The Drink: They offer a good variety of beers on tap, both local brews and name-brand. Soft drinks and iced tea are self-serve. Nice. The Ambiance: The restaurant is located in an older, tiny little shopping mall almost at the end of East Valley Parkway. Bosko's father bought the building back in the 70s so this is a location that is near and dear to Bosko's heart. As you first walk up to the restaurant, the first thing you notice is the wonderful smell of the smoker filling the air with the unmistakable scent of good-meat-things-happening. Taste buds, get ready for a grand ride. There are picnic tables outside but it was a warm day and we wanted to sit inside. Inside you are greeted with a clean, open and welcoming space, newly decorated with bright white tile in the kitchen and service area, and rustic wood boards on the wall. Seating is at either picnic-style tables or taller tables with stools. Two TV sets were airing sports programs, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The ceiling features open duct work that's shiny and new and there's corrugated metal sheet on the bottom half of the walls, which all together makes the place feel fresh and warm and comfortable. The menu is easy to read and straight-forward. While we were there, a softball team was hosting their end-of-year party. The place was full to the rafters but we never felt like it was too many people or too loud. Value: The prices are extremely reasonable. Let's just say my eyeballs didn't pop out of their sockets like they do at some restaurants. Everyone in my party was pleased with the portion sizes, and we all felt like we got more than what we paid for in terms of the quality of the food and the taste of the food. Catering: Bosko was telling us a little about how he came around to opening the restaurant and we learned that before this he did catering, serving whole roasted pig, lamb, sausages. He shared that they are going to cater for an event that will have 1,200 people!! The softball team I mentioned in "The Ambiance" section had their food catered in-house by Bosko. They had hero sandwiches which looked fresh and delicious and fully loaded with deli ham, turkey and toppings. These were served with fries and a green salad. Old World Meat Co also caters the traditional Balkan foods they serve at the restaurant, which would make any party a hit with guests. Bosko is passionate about his food and culture and is eager to share it with people, so if you have a party coming up, give Bosko a call and see what he can do for you. Take Some Home: You can purchase a package of frozen sausages to take home with you. I forgot to ask if they come pre-cooked or if you grill them yourself. But either way, they would be a great addition to any meal you serve at home. Final Thoughts: Do yourself a favor. Come and partake of this oh so delicious food and I think you will find yourself wanting to come back again and again. The food. The ambiance. The value. The nicest people you'll ever meet. Old World Meat Company is the whole package. A five-star experience for sure.

Brgr Shack has almost perfected the smashed burger grilling and I appreciate the unique style of giving you a selection of variations of a the Brgr to choose from. 1) Shack Brgr: very tasty and the grilled onions was a nice addition. The Maillard reaction still produced a very juice Brgr with a soft tasty bun. The juices soaked into the bottom bun making it a soggy mess. A little salty, but, good. 2) Mushroom & Swiss Brgr: wife ordered this, but, got full on the Beef Loaded Fries (more on that later). Yet, she brought it home and reheated in microwave and she loved it!!! The Brgr reheated well. She said it was still juicy and well seasoned. Must have been good because she ate the whole thing!!! 3) Beef Loaded Fries: well, my wife also loved this and ate half at the Shack. The fries are thick chips, topped with crumbled Brgr, grilled onions, cheese and pickles. This was a favorite for us. The meal was good and filling. Something happened with the order and the kitchen didn't get the order slip. Had to go up and asked and the cook profusely apologized for the mixup. He quickly put our order together in a little over 5 minutes and the counter person also apologized for the inconvenience. Brgr Shack comped an order of plain fries which turned out well because we used those chips to scoop the toppings of the Beef Loaded Fries. The fries underneath got soggy quick. And there was no forks to be found. Stars subtracted for lost order and no forks. Will try again of course. The dining room was clean with ample tables and chairs. They have a wall full of studio quality pictures of the menu items. There is lots of parking in an older (the surface of the parking lot were full of cracks and pot holes) strip mall. Definitely a return visit call!!! Returning on a Wednesday to take advantage of the Crazy Cow 50% Discount on 2nd Brgr. Yes!!!

So often we have problems when ordering. So about 3 weeks ago we tried to order (we do carry-out). Usually when my wife does it online, I pay when I go into the store. The option wouldn't allow us to do that, but we had to put in a credit card number. My wife did that, but the system wouldn't accept it, and go to the next screen. So we went to Papa John's down the street instead. Well, we received an email about 2 large, 2-topping pizzas for $7.99. I told my wife I'd place the order in the restaurant, since the online didn't work last time. Imagine my surprise when I went in and they said "You can only do that online." First, NO WHERE on the email coupon, does it state that. I explained all the problems and they said they've had problems with their computers lately and are changing them soon. So I called home and my wife placed the order online. But seriously, if your computers don't work, then shouldn't the "customer be right" and since I showed the coupon on my phone, honor it.
