Queen's bbq is a nice little gem in Galveston Texas. They've been around about 50 years. Their chipped beef baked potato is delicious. I asked about their barbecue sauce because of my food allergies. It contains no wheat flour for sure and is gluten free apparently. I know it doesn't make me sick and gluten does some damage to me. So it's safe for me. This isn't the deep smoked style of bbq. A friend of mine compared it more to Kansas City style bbq. Don't know if he's right; all i know is that it's good. I usually get a stuffed baked potato. Their pork ribs are also very good. They have a sandwich called a "turkey cliff hanger". It's smoked turkey, chives, cheese, and some sort of ranch dressing on a hamburger bun or jalapeño bun. Of course i can no longer eat it because of my allergies. But back in the day when i could.....wow. The sides don't stand out to me at all. But the sandwiches, baked potatoes, and ribs are all very good. Happy to have this place in my home town. Highly recommended. read more

I'm thoroughly convinced this day that there is absolutely NO good BBQ on the Island. I personally feel that ANYBODY residentially or commercially can not que a good rib is not worth trying anything else. Locals told me not to eat here so I went TX Pit Stop BBQ smh sorry not going to cut it! So feeling like BBQ today as a treat for a good day Ubering and being disappointed from the first place I gave Queens a try. First off let me say eating BBQ for a lot of us is a delicacy because the high price long wait etc, so when you do find the money and time to enjoy some BBQ you want to enjoy looking at it eating it and sit back pick your teeth and reminisce on the experience. Too much maybe so but that's what BBQ mean to me. Even tho on this rib plate you get 3 nice sized ribs, my first gripe is the sauce bath that they are soaking in. If you're going to use sauce then glaze the rib not drown them in it! Especially if the sauce is mediocre seriously. Second no distinctive smoke ring at all and with that no signature flavor not even smoke! How is that possible. Third and most depressing they were not only slide off the bone which is ehh ok but with all that sauce they still was dry as sand no exaggeration for as bbq standards. And that was from the first bite. And the potato salad was bland at best. So disappointed and full but 0% satisfied smh if I ever come in to a large sum of money I'm heading straight to G Town and the BBQ places there are going to have problems straight up no fear of this type of competition at all. I only had the ribs and potato salad with bread even tho soft in the middle had that yeasty fermented smell to it that low quality Walmart bread has. Prices are very reasonable compared to CA. Got the 1/2 chicken ($6.25) and spare ribs, comes with two sides. Chicken was good sized but lacked BBQ (smoke) flavor. Ribs also lacked BBQ (smoke) flavor but meat did fall off of the bone. BBQ sauce was thinner than I like. Potato salad was good but needed more flavor, maybe black pepper and celery salt? I brought some friends of mine to Queens because I remembered this place from my childhood, having grown up on the island. I was embarrassed with how bad the food was. The brisket looked horrible from the moment I laid eyes on it and the pork ribs weren't much better. They added their sauce to it automatically which wasn't very good. I rarely get the urge for BBQ but this is a great hole-in-the-wall BBQ place on the Island. I get the Smoked Turkey Breast on Wheat and it is delicious. This place is so cheap which is great for poor college students. They have a limited beer selection but it is really not that big of a deal. read more

Horrific. Beef is sliced thin, like roast beef. Zero fat. Baked in an oven. Zero bark, smoke, fat, crust, flavor, rub. Drenched in horrible sauce. Chewy. Tastes like boiled, artificial, meat-product. Pork is presauced and looks to be boiled or baked as well. Edible, but not by much. Ribs are the best thing here, and they're dogfood. Awful, awful "BBQ." I dare you to smell or find any "smoke" at this place, because there is nothing burning at all. If this is "BBQ," then a piece of horrible meat placed into an oven is "BBQ." OMG this place is freaking off the chart!!!!!! It was recommended to us by the hotel clerk at Scottish Inn & I honestly didn't think much as I figured he got some sort of referral fee or something. But was I wrong! It's a hole in the wall place in a residential area. You order at the counter & pick your own trays up when ready. Every local in there was quick to tell us how great the food was - especially the Smoked Turkey Cliffhanger and the stuffed potatoes. 9 of us got 9 different things - and every item was excellent. Good slow cooked meats, great flavored, cold beer, just a really, really good non-fancy meal. The potatoes are huge & lots of fab stuff you can order in them. But that turkey cliffhanger - I will dream about that one for a long time to come! read more

There is limited parking at this location. If you park in the residential 2 hour parking they will give you a parking pass inside. We all got the loaded bbq potatoes. They were fair with the meats and toppings but they had grease coming thru the bottom of the tray. My only major complint was they do not have bbq sauce on the tables. You have to ask for it and they give you little plastic cups of it. I am use to there being self serve sauces or a squeeze bottle on the table. read more
