If you drive a little bit past shark club there is a little street there where you can usually find parking if you're early enough. Admission is usually free if you come before 10PM and sign up for the guest list, either on their website or Facebook or one of their other avenues. When you're on the texting or email list, they will usually text or email you an offer for free admission before 10PM. At around 9-9:30PM, they usually have a drag show, and on the times I went it was hosted by Adore Delano, the drag persona of the American Idol contestant and the guy that's going to be on/is on RuPaul's drag race. During the show you will see plenty of guys dressed in drag, I believe lip syncing to various songs, and you will hear Adore's jokes and entertainment. I found the show to actually be pretty good and entertaining, and my friends and I sometimes just come to see the show and not really dance. Afterwards, there is an area to relax and talk in and then there is the dance floor. The relaxing room has a mini bar/stand and people tend to smoke there. The dance floor itself is pretty spacious considering it is in OC and is offering a pretty crowded gay night. The people there are a mixed bag, I felt there were a lot more girls there than at other gay nights/clubs and it seemed there were some straight guys there too... I'm guessing trying to hit on the girls. The dance floor usually has a few go-go dancers and on themed nights there are sometimes drag performances and other dancers there. The stage has various lighting effects from the screen and I believe there was some sort of fogging device. The bar I felt was lacking, especially on their drink specials. I had one of their $5 drink specials before and it tasted super watered down and weak to me. I felt the pricing on the other drinks were also pretty high, especially considering the drink specials VLVT has (though I didn't do a side by side comparison or anything). Overall the drag show is pretty awesome, the crowd is okay and the dance floor is nice for being in OC.

They have a great happy hour, and they also have Taco Tuesday deals. They offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays as well. I haven't tried brunch here yet, but it's definitely something I'd like to try one day. The atmosphere during happy hour is pretty chill. They always have music playing, and they also have trivia nights. Some nights they have DJs playing, and the music is always great. The place has always been clean whenever I've visited. There's street parking right in front, plus a parking structure nearby, which makes it convenient. Steven and Kelly are awesome! And when I decided it was time to play some pool, I got the stick and cue ball and got to playing. When there was a tiny issue with the table, Jackie was there to support! It's so anazingt to be able to receive 10/10 service at the bar and in the rest of the bar when it's needed. Then when the DJ came out, I expected service to decline but it was just as good. These guys are working hard the entire time they're behind the bar or on the floor. Steven and Jackie definitely stepped it up in their service; either pouring me drinks or taking my empties and watching over us patrons. I had to call them out twice because I kept seeing them all night, so I also had to ask their names! With the music going and the games on the TVs, sipping a beer or six, there's no better place to be on a Thursday night!

The tiki drinks were delicious and had a beautiful presentation--almost too pretty to drink! Their happy hour is a fantastic value, and we also tried the chicken skewers, which were very tasty. I ordered the Zombie, which was really good and came with a cool zombie hand. We also had a nice time talking with the bartenders. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working that night, and it was really hot inside. We sat in the corner at the bar, and one of the bartenders was nice enough to turn the fan on the bar toward us. I appreciated the effort, but at that point it was basically just moving warm air around. We also ordered French fries, but they never came. We asked about them and were told the kitchen might be backed up. After we finished our drinks, we were ready to leave because of the heat, so we asked about the fries again. They went to check, but there still wasn't an answer as to when they'd arrive, so we canceled the order. I don't want to be too hard on the place because the drinks were good, the bartenders were friendly, and the broken AC may have just been an unfortunate situation that night. We actually went to Twisted Tiki because Mission Control wasn't quite what we remembered, so I'm not sure I would make a special trip just for Twisted Tiki based on this visit. The high ceilings, rustic exposed brick, and massive bar setup make for an electric atmosphere when it's packed out with a rowdy crowd. Even when they're slammed for game days, the kitchen holds its own. The duck fat fries are pretty much mandatory for the table--super crispy, well-seasoned, and easy to pick at while drinking. Their empanadas, lumpia, and burgers are also solid, easy crowd-pleasers to pair with a huge craft beer list or one of their whiskey cocktails. Because the energy is so high during watch parties, service can understandably take a little longer than a normal quiet lunch, but the staff handles the game-day rush really well and keeps the drinks flowing. Parking in downtown Santa Ana can be hit-or-miss with meters, but slipping into the Sycamore parking structure right across the street saves you from driving in circles.
