A classic Gaithersburg watering hole. Somewhere between a dive and neighborhood bar. This place has been here forever and definitely has a strong presence of locals who frequent often. The staff know many customers by name and are quite friendly. My brother tended bar here for many years so I've visited 4-5 times. I don't drink so I generally hang out and crush some wings and pizza. The location is easy to get to, right off of 124 with tons of parking. The restaurant has a bar area, a dining room, and outside seating. I've tried the pizza, wings, tater tots, French fries, and steak salad. All the food was decent but not mind blowing. The pie can be a bit floppy but if you ask for it well done it's pretty good. I've ordered plain cheese, pepperoni, and sausage and onion. I'd imagine if you're sitting at the bar crushing brews this pizza would do a good job at soaking up some of the booze. I'm not an expert on wings, rarely order them, but I thought they were really good. Juicy, meaty, crispy, flavorful. Buffalo, blackberry habanero, and Quincy Sauce (honey mustard BBQ) all hit pretty hard. If you want to go the healthy route the steak salad with dressing on the side was great: quality greens, excellent flavor on the steak, and it was a decent size meal. I think the food is probably a 3-3.5 but the service and "at home feel" caused me to round my overall rating to a 4.0. If you're looking for a chill place to catch a game and don't feel like venturing out too far this may be your spot. read more

After a couple of intense laser tagging games (yes, I am a late-twenties female who just went laser tagging), I came here with 2 friends for a nightcap on a Saturday night. There was a live band playing indoors which made it too loud for a catching-up conversation so we sat outdoors in the patio. There were no servers serving the patio so we had to order our drinks from the bar and then bring them outside. The patio was full of smokers, which I am not used to since I've grown up with all of the new banned smoking laws. Call me naive or spoiled or whatever, but I was surprised and annoyed at the atmosphere of cigarette smoke that permeated the cool evening air. My clothes reeked of cigarettes when I came home, a problem I never thought I would have this day and age (...in America). I couldn't enjoy my time here due to the smoke smell. Perhaps the food/drinks/service inside the restaurant is great, but I don't think I will check it out anytime soon. read more

Awful. One of THE WORST restaurants I have been to in the DC metropolitan area, based on more than 1 visit (gave them chances, and they failed each time), and only giving one star because can't give less. On the most recent visit, my son and I sat for nearly 15 minutes after being seated before anyone even came to ask us what we wanted, then another 10 to just get drinks. I finally told the (second) server that we were leaving based on the lack of any attention whatsoever, and rather than make any effort to apologize, or even get us to stay, he was just dismissive and couldn't care less than his restaurant had lost business. I haven't been back since, and never will. I have no plans to go to the Potomac location, since I can't support a business with such pathetic service. read more

We all know what this place is. It's a bar. If you want to go somewhere for some kind of beautiful family dining experience, that may not work out for you. But if you're looking to knock a few back, enjoy some surprisingly good pub grub and watch the game, this is the right place. They do have a restaurant section (it's partitioned off from the bar), and it's an OK place for kids during the days or for an early evening. The food is good, especially the pizza and some of the rotating specials. The bread and butter, though, is the bar. It's full most nights and packed to overflowing on weekends or big game days. The room containing the bar is kind of small, making it hard to move around, but it's not the end of the world. The bartenders here are really good at what they do, and they turn out the drinks quickly even when it's crazy inside. They're nice people too, as are most of the clientele. This is a place that understands the value of atmosphere. It does get chaotic sometimes, but it never feels dangerous or truly out of control. It's also open very late, which is unusual in Gaithersburg. Bottom line: if you like real authentic watering holes, where the beer's always cold and the shot glasses slide down the bar top, this is your place in this part of Montgomery County. read more

I'm sure the people writing positive reviews on this place are probably still drunk. We arrived here at 7pm, the place isn't crowded AT ALL but we have somehow managed to wait 58 minutes for one appetizer. We ordered two. Waiters have been inattentive and just returned to my table to let me know that the crab dip wasn't started although it was put in an hour ago. Ordering from dog fish head ale house and will pick it up and eat at home. This is just crazy because I had a completely different experience at Quincys in North Bethesda. I went here on a Saturday night. There was a bar tender behind the bar named Peter. He was yelling at a customer and was being very arrogant, disrespectful and unprofessional. I left in disgust. Went to dinner on a Friday night got there at 815pm sat down about 820pm the waiter said he was sorry that the kitchen closes at 830pm on Fridays but the bar is open till 2am. The plaza is going downhill. I went there for a Skins-Dallas game on a Sunday there was a good crowd at the bar for $2 beer. The bartender took 20 min to notice me, the asian. Anyhow a friend came by with a child and the bartenders told us we couldn't sit at the bar so we moved to a table. Later a cop sitting there welcomed his wife and infant they were sitting at the bar so my friend asked why that child is allowed. Quincy's is one of a handful of bars within walking distance of where I live, so it tends to be one of my usual stops. It has a very laid-back atmosphere, and it's a good place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. The drink options aren't anything special, but the prices are decent which is a definite draw in this area. The food isn't amazing by any means, but it's not bad either. It's fairly standard bar fare for the most part, nothing all that special. I wouldn't particularly go out of my way to go there for the food, but if you're looking for something to snack on while having a few drinks, it does the job. Service tends to be a bit hit-or-miss. While I go there fairly often, I'm not quite there enough to be considered a regular. I've definitely noticed difference in service from people who have waited on me before vs. ones who haven't (and presumably assume I'm new). It doesn't happen all of the time, but it's happened enough to draw my attention to the matter. read more

This is one time Yelp reviews led me wrong, I should have definitely done a deeper dive looking into the actual reviews. Maybe this place is good for alcohol drinks but with food definitely we did not find anything remotely good on our visit... I guess when you see completely empty dining area, it should have been my obvious run don't walk out of there unless I want to have drinks. Everyone was in the bar and it's loud but not loud enough to drown out the profanity... I was hoping it could at least do bar food good but it didn't do it for me. The onion rings are flavorless and do not look beer battered as described, $5... I don't think better restaurants charge that much for a side portion. Pretzels were mediocre and in our case served burnt. The tator tots seem to be extra deep fried frozen stuff, not everything fried is worth it. The sandwiches were not to good either. After the horrible treatment we got at the 555 lounge across the street... Quincys could have served us dirt and been better..... good thing they didn't. lol I loved this little spot. Small but nice. Gives a sports bar look. My friends and I really wanted to check out the bar (pub) area, but it was too crowded, we opted for a table instead. Great service and food. I got the sliders, though after seeing the pizza at another table... I think I ordered wrong. Drinks were ok. No drink specials, which sucks... but the live music makes up for most of my very small complaints. Good band. I wish I would have stayed longer. What a terrible experience. I was meeting some clients from the nearby NIST campus there, I didn't have my phone with me and failed to Yelp it. My first mistake. My second Mistake was staying longer than the 10 minutes it took to get the attention of the disinterested bar maid. Once we did get her attention she was very impersonal and you would have thought we had disturbed her from some higher calling, the bar only had a few people in it so I could not comprehend what the issue was I am not going to drone, so trust me when I say, the choices are limited, the food taste like it is microwaved and the folks taking $5.45 for a draft yuengling are not very appreciative of your business. read more

It's hard to describe Quincy's. My friend and I had dinner there last night (Saturday). They had a live band (which was really good btw) and the food was not bad (their waffle fries for dessert rocked it!) I like the atmosphere although those who smoke sit/stand outside the entrance so you have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get in/out of the place (most unfortunate). Wish the owners could tweak that. The age range for patrons was 20's -50's on a Saturday night. It was kind of fun seeing everyone getting along and sharing a commonality. Even though I live in Manassas, Quincy's is still my "local bar". Many of the patrons of Quincy's are the same from O'Leary's/Blue Fins when they were open, as is one of the bartenders, who I am very close friends with. I have been to Quincy's many times, and it's the one place I can go pretty much anytime and am guaranteed to see someone I know. But I have never reviewed "The Q" (as some of us call it) because I typically just go there to drink, and it's tough to fairly review the service since I know the staff and ownership. This Saturday, I met my close friend at his house and went up to Quincy's for our fantasy draft. On the way, he rhetorically asked which new menu item he would try that night, and indicated to me that they had a new head chef and new menu that had some great new items and had been well-received. When we ordered, upon his suggestion I tried the Italian Beef sandwich, a tribute to the Chicago classic. It was fantastic - the beef nice and juicy and dripping with it's own juices. I opted for the cole slaw side, but tried a few of their fresh hand-cut fries - also a winner. Later in the evening I planned to order a Mediterranean plate to help soak up the beer, but lost track of time and missed the kitchen cutoff for the full menu (which is midnight). They were still offering fried foods, and ordered 20 Chesapeake wings. Some of the best wings I had in ages - perfectly cooked, plump and juicy, with a nice crispy outside. Other entrees suggested to me were the pulled pork tacos, chicken and waffles, and the homemade mac and cheese entree, served with italian sausage. They also have a nice selection of burgers, hot dogs, and salads. It's not quite "gastropub" fare - Quincy's is a bit to casual for that. Rather, it is well thought out and executed comfort food that suits the casual, dive bar-ish atmosphere of Quincy's. The beer selection is about what you would expect from a neighborhood bar - the typical domestic and import selections from a "pub" - Guinness, Harp, Stella. Flying Dog beers are featured on tap and in bottles and cans, with the classic Doggie Style Pale Ale and Ragin' Bitch IPA being the on-tap selections. I was a bit surprised to not see any Heavy Seas / Clipper City beers available - the owner said he had heard some people asking for them and may be something they look into bringing in. Quincy's is very much a local neighborhood pub, so it has it's regulars and it's cliques like any local bar does. That type of atmosphere can intimidate or annoy some ... if you're one of those types, you're probably best suited to go elsewhere. If you're looking for a neighborhood pub with good food and good beer and understand the give and take of a neighborhood bar, definitely give Quincy's a shot. read more

Can't say I've ever had the food here but the drinks are always good. Cheap beer and mixed drinks. As far as the mixed drinks, they tend to be strong, as they should be! They have a wide selection of beer, also. They have a nice outdoor patio for the warmer months but plenty of space inside, as well. They have live entertainment on the weekends and it's usually pretty good. They also have a bouncer after a certain time to keep the crazies out, which is nice. I tend to come on Friday/Saturday nights but have been during the week, as well. I've had a great time every visit. It's a nice (cheap) place to hang out with friends and have a good time. read more

Not quite a dive bar, but not too far off if you remove the dining room. The food here is average at best as nothing will wow you unless you've enjoyed several drinks and decide to add a ton of seasoning to your dish. That said if you love Wings (which I do) I can tell you they have some of the better ones in the Gaithersburg area. They are crispy, flavorful, piping hot (temp wise) and really the only thing I would order again. Are they the best wings in the area? No. But if I had a short list of places I wanted wings from (locally), they wouldn't be at the bottom. What got me as a surprise was happy hour special $3 beer on draft was actually $8 per glass. Don't know how my co-worker only paid $3/glass! Winglets were good but at about $19.95 for 20 pieces. Excellent, reasonably low priced American fare with excellent red and white pizzas! This is my favorite American place to go to in Gburg when I'm with my extremely picky family. Quincy's has a very laid back environment with a friendly wait staff to accompany it. I'm sure this place has plenty regulars. The most promising aspect of this restaurant is that they are constantly improving... much better than it was 10 years ago (back when it was Ernie's). Mom always gets the steak and cheese with their awesome, relatively new, fresh-cut french fries. My only wish is that they would bring back their hot roast beef open faced sandwich (my old go-to) and my dad wishes they still carried their knockwurst. Met both of the owners (family run spot) who were both friendly, had no interaction with the wait staff. Its a Blue collar bar - if you want yuppie feel good - go down to bethesda or dupont. Bartender was knowledgeable about the food and suds on tap.(they've got PBR & Natty Boe cans for $1.50-$1.75) Its got the locals "Cheers" feel to it - still waiting for Norm to walk in the door. Lots of "industry workers" frequent Quincy's (ie. servers & tenders from other local spots). Live music comes weekly. The 3 times I've eaten here each selection was good and filling - you pay for what you get. The Cookie & ice cream desert was good too. Being that its in a shopping center its got ample parking. It is NOT trying to be a local irish pub, it IS a local family owned Bar & Grill with sports showing on each flat screen aruond the bar.
