This review is only based on ordering delivery! First off, I loved the bagel and cream cheese. How can you go wrong? Bagels have magical healing powers, they can cure things. If you didn't know. But what was an extra surprise and a special fun treat is that they have homemade dog treats which my picky dog actually loved! It was so cute. I loved this concept and was so excited to purchase these! Also, because ya girl loves a dessert... I ordered a brownie which was suuuuper fudgy and delish! Can't wait to order from them again!

Note - the drink and seating here is from/at Colectivo across the street (a good pairing!)

I always look forward to my weekend walks to R&A for a quick bite to eat! I've tried a variety of options off the menu here, including breakfast sandwiches, build-your-own bagels, and the cinnamon roll. I really like the "Big Bird" and occasionally customize it with additional veggies or pickles. It's a great spot to pick up food, with a convenient walk-up window and order ahead option available. I wouldn't recommend counting on being able to grab a table in their outdoor seating area on a busy weekend morning or afternoon.

Stopped in on a Saturday morning - staff is really nice. It may take a little while to get your order and the daisy dogs take 15-20 minutes. Seems like a lot of people ordered take out which may be the move. We got the heeebster, youngster & daisy dogs. The bagels were delicious - I really liked the youngster, would get that again. Hot honey bacon was nice on it. They also have a little patio area outside and are dog friendly!

Excuse me as I eat the vegan bagel of my dreams. I Doordashed bagels multiple times during my visit. I love the sourdough as it wasn't as heavy as normal yeast bagels. They use Violife cream cheese for vegan sandwiches and it is amazing. There were soy-free options although there does seem to be some cross contamination, so allergy friends take note. I appreciated the team taking the time to answer questions. It is worth a stop for a quick meal!

Delicious lox bagel, maybe the best in Chicago, or at least one of them. I got a cold brew with vanilla syrup. The staff is friendly, and the patio is beautiful - a great place to sit, eat, and relax. The flowers outside make it even nicer. I really love this place.

Recently crossed another spot off my Chicago bagel journey, this time it was R&A Sourdough! I noticed they now have a River West location (I believe it's mainly for delivery and catering), which is way more convenient for me than their original Ravenswood shop. So, naturally, I hopped on DoorDash and ordered breakfast. I went with two bagels: The Youngster and a cheddar jalapeño bagel with chive cream cheese. And wow both were incredible. The Youngster is a loaded breakfast sandwich stacked with thick egg, hot honey bacon, and cream cheese. It follows that classic Chicago bagel theme, but it absolutely nailed it. As for the cheddar jalapeño? Perfectly baked, flavorful, and paired so well with the chive cream cheese. No complaints at all. R&A really surprised me in the best way. Between the flavor, convenience, and price, this might just be my new favorite bagel spot in the city. This Jersey local gives R&A a solid stamp of approval!

One of the best bagel shops in town. If you love sourdough this is your place to go! R&A bakes their bsgels and loaves fresh each day ! Have decadent flavors like Asiago bagel with poblano cream cheese or get a lox bagel. Totally worth your carb cheat day ! Sit outside and enjoy it! Service is fast and friendly and it's cool to see them do their work to make your breakfast / lunch .

Best bagel and lox sandwich in the city. Period. I ordered it on the everything bagel and it was absolutely amazing. Cute little to go shop with some picnic style outdoor seating for a warm day . It's hard to find a good bagel in this city - this place nailed it!

What a great local place to have a variety of sourdough breads and bagels. This location is one of a kind and if you're traveling, street parking is plenty or it's easily accessible by the Brown line. There is a good amount of outdoor seating, but that's about it. There isn't anywhere to sit inside, so plan accordingly. They have a walk-up window as well and are very dog friendly (a huge plus)! Service was fairly quick for a weekday and the worker was very friendly. Even signed up for the rewards because it did seem worth it. My friend and I ordered a side of the sweet potato latkes and I will definitely be getting these again and again! When it came to choosing what to order for our main, we wanted a bit of a brunch vibe. I went with the big bird and was impressed with the quality and quantity of each ingredient. The sourdough bread was so fresh and each bite had great flavor. My friend had the Keister sandwich and said she enjoyed it quite a lot, too. I wish there were a few more options for coffee, but that's such a small thing. I'm definitely going to be coming back here to try their sourdough bagels! Glad to have a local shop so close in the area :)

The Keister sandwich for $16.95....barely any pastrami...but it was the best pastrami I've ever had.

Finally visited and was worth the hype! You can tell they take pride in their products. Bagels are as good if not better than in New York per my NYC friend. The Pastrami....apparently I was eating processed / fake pastrami all my life because I had a life changing experience here!! Only gripe though was the amount of pastrami for the price ($16.95) is just not a good deal. I saw pictures on here and thought I'll have 2 meals out of this but ate the entire sandwich and still hungry. Not sure if the portion size went down or they were out of Pastrami but not worth the value.

See if you can grab the QR code on the window right outside the door or just walk right in if they're open

I walked in without knowing exactly if I would find this little tiny business of a commissary or all the bagels are made for this great sourdough business. I know I would meet the owner in there and was able to not just pick up my TooGoodToGo order , but I ended up ordering a simple turkey sandwich with in-house roasted turkey on a simple bagel with some delicious cheese before I left. Bonus was given a couple sweet brownies . A delicious day.

Daisy Dogs..one is regular and one is cheddar. I got two because..Research.

I have been dilly-dallying on ordering from here and my goodness that was stupid. I decided it was a treat yo self kind of day..so I got my favorite combo I try and order to judge all bagel sammiches equally by; Onion Bagel toasted with Chive Shmear and B.E.C. It's comfort food at its finest and I've had good, bad and ugly.. My bagel sammich was SO FREAKING DELICIOUS. The bagel..HOW DARE YOU MAKE SUCH A DELICIOUS AND BEAUTIFULLY TEXTURED BAGEL!? What..how? This bagel was absolute perfection. Do not get me started on that cream cheese. The texture..I've never had such soft and beautifully textured cream cheese. This isn't your store bought thick paste..this is soft and creamy and rich. The egg..egged and the bacon was a nice compliment. If I was Keith Lee'ing it.. I'd give this sammich a 9.1 out of 10. I also ordered some daisy dogs that I will enjoy later..but I'm posting a pic so you can see how adorable it is..I'm sure it's gonna be fantastic. The jist of this post is this..don't sleep on this place like a big dummy (note to self) get your bagel and get it now.

Delicious bagels !!!!!!! R&A is small on the inside, so plan on ordering to-go. If you are there in the summer, they have a few tables outside that you can sit at! The staff were super friendly and our bagels were ready in less than 10 minutes! I ordered a garlic bagel with veggie cream cheese & added cucumber, capers, tomatoes & onions. They had lots of unique bagel & cream cheese flavors it made it hard to choose a combo, but made me excited to go back to try more things from their menu!!!!

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

Thankfully they still had their famous breakfast sandwiches by the time I ordered (even though they normally stop selling them at noon). Got a couple drinks- Ube Latte and the Corn Maiz Tea Latte. I'll preface by saying that the Corn Maiz drink was my favorite thing I got from Kasama. It has a strong corn flavor that blends perfectly with the milk tea. This is a 10/10 no notes. Ube latte was also tasty. For food I ordered a ton of things: -Longanisa Egg and Cheese Sandwich w a hash brown: was surprisingly just okay IMO. Egg is very uniquely fluffy, more like a steamed egg than a scramble! The rest of the sandwich was tasty but nothing special. -Filipino Breakfast Platter w both meats: the Tocino is delish! IMO the better of the two breakfast meats. Garlic rice is good, but i always love garlic rice. -Italian Beef Eggrolls: so crispy and delicious with the gardeneira dipping sauce! Weekends only item- be sure to try! -Lumpia: so crispy and flavorful, they really fry things well here. -Matcha Pandan Eclair: the choux was pipped on top, and was so fluffy and delicious. The crispy rice inside the shell added a fun texture. This was my favorite pastry! -Truffle Croissant: lamination was good, flavors were a bit weird. Was overly sweet from the rock sugar + honey, so much that it overpowered the truffle IMO which is hard to do. -Guava and cheese ensaymada: very fluffy brioche with yummy filling. This was good, really wanted to try the ube one but they were out :( -Ube and Huckleberry basque cake: very rich! Was suggested this instead of the ube ensaymada and it was definitely more huckleberry than ube. Tasty though. Overall this spot was good and certain things (corn maiz drink, pandan eclair, Italian beef eggrolls) were worth the wait while others are overhyped. I would definitely order ahead next time for take out or sit inside- cute indoor and outdoor seating options!

Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. I bought 3 and my friend got 2. Calamansi cream + pistachio paste danish was my favorite. The Calamansi cream was the perfect texture and density with a fragrant citrus note. When I took a sip of coffee afterwards it made my coffee taste like I was drinking fresh orange juice. The pistachio is more cake like inside than full paste and isn't too sweet. Flaky dough, soft pistachio center and creamy top with a sharp citrus cut. Peach + raspberry Melba danish. The peaches were soft. I'm not familiar with a Melba dessert but the center of this was almond paste which is not my favorite but if you like almond and tart danish it would hit the spot. Raspberry espresso cream cheese cinnamon roll was a fun fruity twist to a cinnamon roll. Couldn't really tell there was espresso though. Blueberry lime cheesecake danish. I also liked this one because of the lime. It really cuts through the heaviness. The fruits on top were also fresh. They also have one day old blind boxes. I grabbed a 6 piece day old box to go and it was actually 6 different pasteries, half sweet and half savory! It only repeated 1 of the pasteries I had originally tried so I'm excited to try more, especially the savory ones. It's an amazing deal if you just want to try a variety of flavors. Tried the Hot dog danish - really good! Upscale pigs in a blanket vibes. The tiny fried are seasoned perfectly and add a fun crunch. The splashes of Dijon cut through and it doesn't feel oily at all.

I've been on the hunt to find the best bakeries in Chicago and had been dying to visit Fat Peach…read morefor awhile after seeing rave reviews! Let me tell you, it was all I hoped it could be and more. The storefront was pretty small with a few tables- between the size, hours, and popularity (they were only open a few days a week and closed at 2pm), I suspected that the shop sold out often. I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection. Sadly, I don't get to the area often, but I will 100% be back asap to try more of the menu. Run- don't walk to pay a visit!

I have a huge sweet tooth and let me tell you the savory pastries are my favorite. I will not visit without getting at least one miso mushroom pastry. I absolutely hate eggs and the jalapeño popper pastry is so good, I barely noticed the egg in it until I'd eaten half of it This place is the TRUTH. Every pastry is flaky, every bun is fluffy and the flavor combinations are so unique. Let me stop typing so I can go stand in line!
