Great authentic Chinese-American food. Fast service and easy pickup with lots of free parking. We had the orange chicken, crab rangoons, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, and mushroom beef. The orange chicken had a little spice to it which was very good with a nice sticky sauce on the chicken. Rangoons were nice and crispy, not greasy, with green onion in the filling = lots of flavor. We also had fried rice which came with a boat load of shrimp which was great because the kids tend to eat the shrimp more than the rice. There are a few reasons why I'm giving the Mayflower a five star ratings. The first is the specials. They have both lunch and dinner specials. Both are so large that I always have leftovers and I am a big eater. The second is the family meals. I game with friends and when we get tired of ordering pizza, we get the family meals from the Mayflower and again, there are always leftovers. For those not using either of those affordable options, they often have menu coupons for things like free eggrolls or free crab ragoon. If not getting one of the specials, I tend to get the beef chow fun. read more

Around lunch time the place was full with a short wait. We ended up sharing a large table with another party. Ordered off the dim sum menu and loved everything! Just moved back to Chicago after suffering for five years in the culturally depraved Pacific Northwest, Tacoma to be exact. Who would ever believe that on the west coast, in a city of 250K people, that it would be impossible to find a simple Chinese take-out joint. What passes for Chinese food out there is simply indescribably horrible. Nothing tastes right - nothing! With extremely few exceptions (Korean and Vietnamese), the entire food scene there is a joke. I know Chicago doesn't play fair when it comes to food, but I digress... My wife and I have had three meals in the last month from Mayflower and man, all I can say is THANK YOU JEEZUS! Tonight's dinner was Beef Chow Fun, a couple of eggrolls and one of my litmus tests for Chinese food, a small Wonton soup. When my wife came to the car she said, "they made the soup to order!" and with that I knew I was going to be happy. It was really really good. The Beef Chow Fun was incredible, smokey with some of the thick noodles stuck together as they should be, a generous amount of beef with just perfect and simple seasoning. The portion sizes are extremely generous and overall you can just tell that they have pride in what they're serving. It's so good to be back home in Chicago and thank you Mayflower. read more

We've been getting food from Mayflower for YEARS, maybe ? 20+ years. It's quick, delicious, a great amount, and prices are completely reasonable. Tons of parking, as it's in a plaza with several other businesses, including a Jewel food store. Lunch/dinner specials are unbeatable. There are a couple tables, but really, nobody eats there--business is almost ALL takeout. Combo appetizer is a great deal, and ribs are divine. My favorite dish is the YuShan Beef! read more

I go to pick up the order there was no soy sauce packets in the bag and when I ask for some, they only give me ONE soy sauce packet for both orders. The fried chicken wings were a pass, nothing spectacular. General Tso Shrimp was good also, but I should have asked for the sauce on the side to avoid the sogginess. We tried 3 places before this and they all were god awful. My husband likes the Gen. Tso chicken and I have a few veggie dishes that I have the option of consuming.
