Stay away from this store. I made a phone order for a rhino rack pioneer platform with the backbone system and low profile bases for my Jeep. Paid in full. It came in and I showed up for my install on time this past Monday. 5 hours later the store realized they ordered the wrong bases. Their manager Victor was told about the issue. The installer who assembled the pioneer platform rack and backbone system told me the store manager would get the correct parts and have them ready for an 11am install this Wednesday. I showed up around noon on Wednesday to give them cushion to be ready. When I arrived to the store, the parts were not here. Victor forgot to pick them up. He showed up at 2:30pm with the parts. Another few hours later the rack was installed. On my drive home I was hearing noises of what I thought was debris falling from the sky onto my roof. To my surprise, all the bolts came loose from the rails and collected on the roof. Now it's Thursday and I'm back at the shop being met with 2 week employees with the worst attitude and the worst customer service. Imagine you pay for items to be installed poorly and the store's response is attitude and a lack of accountability. Find a shop with qualified techs that know how to tighten bolts (the bare minimum of experience it seems is just lacking at this store). Let's see how they address this now. I truly hope the store owner sees this and takes some serious time to train their employees on (1) how to properly install parts they sell and (2) training on improved customer service. A paying customer should never be in this position. Truly a shame. read more

I came here on an emergency situation because someone lost my skybox key. I called them and they were SUPER friendly. They told me to come in and warned me they may not have the key in stock but come in and see. When I got there. I thought, wtf... Why is the whole parking area in the front taken by what looks like hardcore customers? Ends up that there was an event and these customers were demoing their equipment. They also had free lunch for the event When I went in, they handed me the master key set and off I went. Found what I needed and they had it in stock! I bought a retractable truck bed cover from this business. I spent three months going back and forth with product or installation issues. I was there six times and waited a total of 18 hours waiting for the installations. Finally, I was there last month for the last visit. A new bed was installed and the same problem persisted as the tail gate wasn't closing. This was the first issue from the beginning. When I expressed my frustration to manager Liam, he told me he did not want I quote, "deal with my shit". He spent another thirty minutes adjusting the side brackets and tested the tail gate; by violating slamming the tailgate when closing it; terrifying my wife who was inside the truck. Not only was my experience absolutely dreadful regarding the product/experience, I find Liam's ending comments and actions to be unprofessional, unacceptable , and frankly, tortious. I was ready to call Pasadena Police Department if Liam's conduct was to escalate beyond slamming the tailgate against my truck repeatedly, or beyond his verbal outburst. Please note Liam is the store manager!!! This was my experience with Rack Attack and I will never go back. My ikamper needed to be adjusted. I showed up at to my scheduled appointment time and Turk and Alex started right away. They did an amazing job. My roof rack left little room to get their tools under to tighten the bolts. With ingenuity, patience and a lot of elbow grease they were able to get the ikamper adjusted and securely in place. But when it came to the one thing that would actually attach my Thule bike rack to the hitch, namely a missing hitch bolt, they were entirely flummoxed. Couldn't tell me where to get one, don't carry them, mumbled something about a special kind of "threading" that would make it very difficult to find a replacement, shrugged and threw up their hands. Now I'm $600 sunk (their markup is insane) with an un-attachable bike rack leaving for the holiday bike-riding weekend with my kids (which I'd emphasized with urgency regarding getting this rack on the car). Recently purchased a Thule Canyon XT rooftop basket from here. Easy to purchase online and pick up in store was a breeze. Assembly of the basket itself was simple enough. Once it came to mounting the basket onto the crossbars I had the most difficult time. It seemed like I had tried for the whole day before I decided to give up after much frustration. My business partner pickup the Yakima CBX 16 new in the box for my weekend trip to SD. When we opened to box the cargo box had a pretty big area where touch up paint was used. Several other minor scratches were on the side of the box. This is not the first cargo box I've used so I know eventually I will have scratches. New in the box I expected more but this is not a review about Yakima. I took the box back the next day as one of the latches would not lock. Cesar the store manager helped me. He tried the locks several times and then I told him about the touch up paint. He felt it was unacceptable a brand new box would be in that condition. He took several pictures and videos for Yakima. I have purchased from them a Thule WingBar Roof Rack, a roof track for the roof rack system, a Thule cargo carrier, 2 Kuat bike racks with accessories, and a Thule kayak Hull a port. but when my Kuat bike rack had a damaged lock, instead of helping me replace the part I needed in a timely fashion, Brianna and the other sales reps jerked me around for over 3 weeks, lying to me about when the parts would come in and be available, then when the parts did arrive telling me they would repair the rack even though they do not do repairs, but then ultimately not repairing the rack as they stated they would. I have spent thousands of dollars with them and They just kept jerking me around and treating me like I didn't matter. Won't be using them ever again. HEY GREGG, business owner! Last time you jerked me around you had the excuse of COVID supply chain issues, so I gave you a pass and a second chance. Overcharging to the extreme at all the stores in this chain. I ordered a tow hitch here (without doing my homework - my fault) and found that they had charged me about 30% more than other vendors around town. To install, they wanted $200 more than any other place I looked. Uhaul quoted the same hitch installed for less than rack attack's price without installation. I complained when I picked up the hitch and was basically told "too bad." They do have great equipment here and they certainly know their stuff. I can practicality guarantee you'll be badly overcharged though. read more

I recently called these people disappointed with the Chain's L A branch on Lincoln Blvd. (They have become very unhelpful and money minded, downright an inefficient bunch.) But Caesar from the Pasadena branch was unconditionally helpful, even tried to fix my problem with the Yakima Full Tilt which had come unstuck for some reason.
