Rae G is located inside a business center and you can spot the cafe by the red sun umbrellas that peak out. The cafe is spacious and when you walk in you are greeted warmly by the staff. The daily specials are just under $16.00 and you get the featured entree, a choice between pasta, potato salad, chips, green salad, or fruit salad, and your choice of a drink (fountain, canned soda, or tea). Cute cafe hidden within the business buildings in Torrance! Easy to find parking in the morning alongside other workers. The workers were nice and welcoming, giving me time to browse the menu. Office workers seemed to come in and out to pick up breakfast orders, and the cafe staff were very polite and seemed to know them by name, which was sweet to see! I ordered a sausage breakfast wrap, which was a lot bigger than I expected, and half of it was enough to keep me full for a while! I found out about this place from my friend, we meet up here for morning coffee. This is a great spot since you can have a conversation and hear yourself and your friend, the coffee is great and the employèes are nice. The interior is clean and welcoming. I don't know if they usually sell this but this morning I saw Baklava at the counter for $11. They looked giftable so I got one for someone and I will exercise restraint and try to eat no more than 2 a day, they are very good! read more

What a hidden gem tucked away in a business park. I've been here numerous times and everything I have ordered was so delicious! Sandwiches, good. Salads, good. Ngl I thought some of reviews sounded odd because they were praising the food in general instead of specific dishes. Now that I've tried it, I completely understand. Everything IS good. And such a good value and portion size. Even little things like the side potato salad are top notch. A hipster sandwich shop could make it a signature thing. I have been wanting to try out this place for quite a few years. I have a tendency to find myself across the street staying at the Miyako Hotel, and I love sandwiches and cafe vibes. Rae G has the sandwiches and vibes that I've been craving. All the workers were friendly and helpful, and it was cool to see "the regulars" come in and everyone knew them by name. This place is tucked away in the middle of the commercial area buildings. Had I known that it would have been easier to just use the driveway off 213th St, or just walk from the hotel to the cafe, I would have done that. So, yes, it is pretty hidden away. We tried a wide array of sandwiches and a wrap: The Turkey Club, The Pastrami, Chicken Pesto Panini, and the Cobb Salad Wrap. And then the sides of the potato salad and the pesto pasta salad. The potato salad is next level good. There's only a Small hint of mustard, but there's bacon in it. The pesto pasta salad has a great balance of the oil and herb base without being too heavy. Both options are very fresh. The Cobb Salad Wrap is literally the salad stuffed into a tortilla. They have a few tortilla options, and we went with the tomato tortilla. The pastrami was perfectly balanced between the meat, the veg, the cheese, and the mayo/mustard. It is served "cold", but the cheese did have a bit of melt to it. So good! I think my fav was the chicken pesto panini. I took my first bite and got a good mix of the chicken, peppers, and creamy pesto sauce. I didn't even have a chance to chew and swallow. I just kind of sat there in silent astonishment staring at the sandwich. It was amazing. I let my boyfriend try a bite right after me, because as he saw my face, he had to try it. Yup, pretty much the same response from him. All of the sandwiches are fresh and the quality is top notch. It would be dangerous if I worked in the area. If you know where to look, there are hidden places that can surprise you. I'm not sure when they opened up, but I'm glad I found them... Location: Feel like going on a treasure hunt? You can't see this place from any of the streets surrounding it. It's inside an office building and one of the entrances has you walking past storage shelves on your way in. The easiest way to find this place is to come in from 213th street and look for the green awning outside the office building. You can also look for the signs on the buildings and driveways to point you in the right direction. Food: I came here because I wanted a chicken pesto sandwich that was close by. I think I got more than I hoped for. The Pesto Chicken sandwich was generous with the meat, just enough mayo and not over powered with too much bread. The sandwich also came with a 1 side so I picked the fruit. You can also pick your choice of bread if you so chose. I added hot sauce to mine. Summary: I need to come back to try other things from here. They're open early and close at 4 pm. They have a large menu and drink selection and even serve breakfast so I'm guessing it's because of the office workers who come in early in the morning. Quick service spot that's great for those coming off the night shift or coming in to work, but don't want fast food or a sit down restaurant. Service was friendly and personable. Prices aren't bad with a large selections of coffees and drinks. Guess they figured out people need an afternoon pick-me-up with the caffeine shots. Torrance Food Crawl #343 This restaurant is in the middle of a business park and can't be seen from Torrance Blvd or Western Ave, but there are signs on the roads advertising the place. This seems to be the sister location of another Rae G Cafe in Vernon, based on the name of the place and similar menus. On Monday afternoon there was a line of five people when I got here shortly after noon. The menu has a wide of sandwiches and lunchtime dishes as well as coffees and drinks. The daily special was a Banh Mi Sandwich, with spicy bbq pork, red pickled daikon, carrot, cilantro, cucumbers, a fried egg, jalapeño, and siriracha mayo on a ciabatta bun. Like most banh mi sandwiches this was a nice mix of meat, crunchy vegetables, and a mix of tastes. The ciabatta bread was a little on the tough side, which I guess is true of ciabatta bread in general. Otherwise, an enjoyable sandwich. The daily special came with Tuscan Bean Soup or Chicken Tortilla. I wasn't sure if the Chicken Tortilla was a tortilla or a soup, however, I chose the Tuscan Bean Soup which was a classic Italian bean soup. Nothing fancy, but good. The easiest way to find the restaurant is to enter from Western Ave on the road between the business park and the Miyako Hotel. Then park in the parking area at the south side of the business park and you should be able to see the patio outside the restaurant in the middle of the businesses. read more
