They do keep the place very clean and spotless. The food is sooooo scrumptious. My roast beef and cheese was mmmmmmmm delicious. That nice bun gave it the perfect touch with pesto sauce. I don't know what you call the buns. But the buns are good. I originally ordered the pesto on the side. Because I wasn't sure how it would taste. But it was great. The menu is a little limited. Normally I would give a place like this 3 stars at best, but I can't get myself to give anything less than 4 due to excellent service and awesome vibe. The whole place has old train theme and other vintage pictures & artwork on its walls. It has a very relaxed, cozy feel with old-fashioned customer service. Everyone seemed like family and treated customers the same way. I give extra points to the staff for being friendly to my kid. That's a big plus in my book because I know how annoying little kids can be. This place seems very kid/family friendly and even has a toy pony outside by the entrance that kids can ride. It's for slightly bigger kids (maybe about 4 or 5) but it's comfortable to sit and moves forward when you push down on the foot rest. For smaller kids an adult would have to push it forward. The food is pretty standard sandwich items, all pressed in a panini grill. Even our breakfast croissant sandwiches were pressed on a panini grill. They are definitely on the pricey side but does seem to use good ingredients. This place uses Boar's Head meat products and Lavazza coffee. My wife and I ordered Wake Up #1 (eggs, Boar's Head prosciutto or sausage, Havarti cheese) and Wake Up #2 (egg whites, spinach, mozzarella) croissants. Both tasted pretty good and ingredients were fresh, but at $6-$7, it is definitely pricey. My wife said the coffee was ok but weak in flavor. I know my review is definitely more emotional than logical but I am totally digging this place. The brick building with the old school charm and vibe is very inviting, and I definitely want to return here with my family for a weekend breakfast. Rail Side Cafe is on the southeast side of the intersection of San Dimas Avenue and Commercial Street. It's right on the corner of the brick building and has outdoor seating that's dog friendly. I actually get my teeth cleaned close by so after my dentist appointment one morning I made it over to this cafe for some breakfast before heading to my office. I ordered a Mocha Latte and an order of Organic Oatmeal with strawberries. I actually couldn't decide what to order... a Cinnamon Roll? A Breakfast Wrap? I love the mugs and bowls they use. After my first sip of my beverage, I knew I was a fan. I ordered a small sized latte, but the mug it came in was huge. I thought the oatmeal was just okay. I'm glad I got the strawberries to go with it. It was quite peaceful sitting on the patio and there were a few dogs out there with me. A mixed Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, and French Bulldog. First time coming here. Cool, hip, quaint little cafe in San Dimas. Everyone was super welcoming and the service was great. I wasn't sure what to get and the woman helping me was super helpful in suggesting what's to get. I ended up with a large mocha latte and a wicked good railside croissant, which was boar's head sausage on a croissant smothered in gravy. The Coffee was amazing, really my only complaint is that the large couldnt be bigger! I needed more lol It tasted like they took chocolate covered coffee beans and used them to make it. It was so delicious, not too sweet with just the right amount of coffee flavor peaking threw. So silky! The croissant was delicious, the gravy was flavorful and the combo with the sausage on that fluffy croissant was the perfect combo. 5 stars across the board for this cool cafe. Very Cute! Selection is nice. I had my Montreal bagel modified! Instead of the vinegarette, I replaced it with pesto and added an egg. It was yummy and messy. I do not know what my boyfriend got. My fiance and I wanted to do a date-day brunch, so we chose downtown San Dimas. Such a cute little cafe with outdoor patio seating. The only downside was the tree we were sitting under that kept rudely spitting sap on us. Dog-friendly and they even provide sidewalk chalk, which an adorable little girl enjoyed! I ordered a strawberry smoothie with their sausage croissant soaked in gravy. The croissant was toasted to perfection but the gravy could've used a bit more flavor. My fiance ordered the prosciutto panini due to his newfound obsession for prosciutto. The olive flavor is pretty strong, so if you're not a fan, I'd advise against it. The bread could've been tastier in my opinion as well, but if you ever do take it to-go, it'd pair perfectly with a bottle of wine. I ventured here for brunch with a friend around 1pm. There was no line at the order counter and customer service was sufficient. We decided to sit outside and table service was exceptionally fast, which was great! However, the sandwich and drink I ordered were subpar quality. There are quite a few tables with umbrellas in front of the cafe, with minimal seating inside the cafe itself. So, best to sit outside in my opinion for the fresh air and to avoid being uncomfortably cramped while enjoying your drink or sandwich meal. A nice atmospheric undertone was the inclusion of "French cafe tunes" softly playing from the establishment's speakers, creating a Parisian-like cafe ambience. I regret wasting over $9 on a panini at Rail Side Cafe. A cold, unappetizing turkey panini that was not warm at all when delivered to the table. The panini bread ('grilled' ciabatta) didn't look grilled nor fresh tasting. The sandwich tasted like it had been prepped the night before and not made-to-order. The dirty chai latte (I asked for a shot of espresso to be added) was initially good, but towards the end of sipping it, there was a clump of chai tea powder which wasn't mixed well enough into the hot latte... leaving an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth. What could've been a stellar dirty chai latte turned into an average one at best, if they had only remembered to mix and stir it completely! Side items such as the seasoned pretzel (an addictively tasty herb garlic seasoning, couldn't get enough of their in-house flavored pretzels) and the Yelp check-in offer for a free pastry (only redeemable if you buy a panini meal with a specialty drink) were superb, certainly upstaging the drink and sandwich I ordered. I opted for a cinnamon roll as my free pastry. Packed with oodles of thick, rich frosting and an abundance of aromatic, irresistible cinnamon flavor, this was an amazing pastry experience, practically in the vein of Cinnabon's products. No qualms on the choice of pastry since it was free and actually wonderful tasting, compared to wasting over $16 on the former menu items. A disappointing panini experience and somewhat lacking latte has deterred me from coming back for lunch and for their specialty drinks. However, I may possibly try their breakfast on a second visit or occasionally drop in for their scrumptious cinnamon roll or an iced coffee. read more

The Shanghai Bullet is delicious when it's cool out and the Nitro is awesome during the hotter months. Add a coffee cake to either of those and you have a perfect post ride snack. Whenever the owner is there when I come in he recognizes me and it feels very welcoming to build those type of relationships at your favorite place. They are a family owned business. They are following safe procedures as well and have outdoor dining available. I often see them showcasing new coffee drinks. My favorite item on the menu is the London Bagel. I also enjoy their Nutty Nitro Cold Brew. They usually have treats for sale by a local baker (Hey Batter Batter) and her ube crinkle cookies are amazing. First time coming here. Always excited to support a local business. We were warmly greeted by the owner and her son upon entering. After mentioning it was our first time there, they introduced themselves to us and shook our hands. Such sweet people. The interior of the cafe is really cute! A lot of cool vintage posters plus some plants here and there. After taking some time to look over the menu, her son recommended the hot chai tea latte. He said it was what they were known for. I decided to go for it since I've never had it. (Spoiler: It was really dang good.) We also ordered the turkey panini to share. Our food and drink came out quickly and everything was delicious. I was in the area, and needed to kill time, what better way than with breakfast and a latte? I searched for locations that sold coffee, and right away Rail Side popped up! Glad it did. The owner and his mom were there, super friendly, and I love the fact that the owner is there.... and his mom.... and the occasional drop-by from his wife and babygirl!! It feels so "homey"!
