This is a wonderful little cafe stop for enjoying a midday snack or specialty beverage while strolling through downtown San Dimas. It's close to the Metro station, dog-friendly, and offers outside dining on their spacious, shaded patio where you might even find some live musical entertainment (if the time is right). The servers are friendly and quick to offer suggestions or field any questions about the menu. Also, though you order inside, they promptly deliver your food and/or beverages while you enjoy the fresh air and take in the local scenery. If you enjoy breakfast or lunch paired with a bit of people-watching, this is a place you should consider visiting.

Coffee and a breakfast bagel, it doesn't get any better than that. If the coffee is good and the bagel is fresh you are off to a great morning. This place delivers that. I enjoyed my iced vanilla latter and breakfast bagel with egg and sausage. This place was exceptional. Plenty of outdoor seating. Great service as well. Definitely will be back to visit .

So this is an update to my previous review.. they have added a LOT of things to the menu now. The day I came, it was so packed, it was at least 30 min until we could get our food. Maybe if there more ways to order, it would be faster since now we have to order with the one cashier, who also needs to take in phone calls. I think they do have online option, so I may have to do that next time if I don't want to wait. I still like the outside seating, as they play really chill music, and now there is even a small play area for kids either a giant connect 4. The ordered the London Bagel and the Belgium Waffles this time. Note that if you want pretzels you need to add $1. The prices did go up from before but it is expected, and like I said I do like that they have other options. I wished that the bacon that came with the waffles were bigger, they were on the smaller side. I do like that the owner or the owners mom goes around to ask how the guests are doing. It makes the experience that much more special and the want to continue to support the business. Looking forward to try some of the new food next time. Until then !

Stopped by a local favorite and decided to try the peanut butter mocha. I'm not usually a mocha person, but for this drink, I definitely could be! The blend of peanut butter and mocha was spot-on neither flavor was too overpowering. I'd definitely order it again!

The was great. Quality over quantity rules here. I had Norway bagel which is "lax" plus pesto sauce. Great combination. Their waffles with bacon was ok although Norway began was better . Interior was amazing super kids friendly. Connect 4 giant game outside and kids books Even restrooms were kids friendly in design. Parking wasn't that bad but limited at north side of store . Amazing experience for an early morning hand out . Definitely great for date night ( morning )

Meeting a girlfriend for brunch. This is a cute place. Seating is mainly outside with a few small tables indoors. Perfect day to be outdoors but I love that there are umbrellas for good shading on sunny days. You order first and then food is brought out to your table. Servers are friendly. The food was good but the portion was smaller than expected for the price we paid. I wished my croissant came with something more substantial than a small cup of fruits. I love that there was live music (not sure if this is an daily thing) and that we were allowed to sit and chit chat for a few hours.

Our whole family loves coming here. The food is great. The drinks are delicious and the owners are wonderful. They have an outdoor patio that's like sitting at a French café somewhere in a beautiful land landscape of England. All the staff are personable and genuine. It's run by a mother and her son and having conversations with them is always fun. The food is delicious. They have a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options and have no issues with substitutions on any of their menu items. If you want a really chill vibe with great energy, delicious food and yummy handcrafted coffee, and lemonades. This is the spot. Bring a book or do that FaceTime meeting, or if you like me, treat your mother to an amazing day with a yummy lunch at railside Café! Cheers!

Got the matcha, wasn't very good. Friends got the chai, not very good. Also got the waffle and was absolutely burnt. I would normally excuse this but the man taking our order was so rude for no reason lmao. Never seen someone so terrible at just acting like a decent human being but obviously the people here can get away with it since there's so many mentions of terrible staff. Oh well, not my circus. Super mid, wouldn't recommend but this place already has 4 starts for some reason so this'll just get drowned out by some poor soul looking for the next aesthetic cafe.

I unfortunately think today is the last time I go there. The front staff is incredibly uncaring of their customers- it's a bit crazy & I found a piece of hair in my food. The girl in the front welcomed us with silence and a airpod in her ear. She misheard me multiple times.... I wonder why. She didn't get my order right and was unpleasant to see in front of this restaurant. The food here is good which is why my rating isn't lower. There's live music sometimes, which is great. I think this restaurant just needs a new person in the front of their establishment.

i love this place! small business, great drink selection with so many options for coffee as well as teas. I like to stick to their regular iced latte sweetened with either hazelnut or vanilla. so yummy. their food is alright, nothing too crazy or special. something you could easily whip up at home so i don't think it's worth the price but hey, it's not bad either! overall, 5 stars for their delicious and yummy cofffee! read more

I come here every Thursday morning with my mother for over a year now. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Drink are so great especially the chai tea latte and matcha latte. The menu is really great, I recommend the bagels or avocado toast. Great croissants as well!!! read more

Real disappointment. Drove an hour to meet a friend here at 2:15 PM today because their website said they closed at 4 PM. We were told they close at 3 PM on Sunday but hadn't updated the website. That was too bad but here's the worst part, when we went in to order they said they don't take orders past 2:30 PM. We, along with three other parties of people, were turned away. I pointed out to the man behind the counter that it was only 2:20 PM and he told me to have a nice day. If You own this business you should be aware that your staff are turning away customers 40 minutes before closing. At least they had no problem recommending other restaurants in the area that would be willing to serve customers. read more

This place is adorable and the staff are a dream! Kind people and adorable family. Love this place I'm not surprised to see how many 5 star reviews there are here. Hopefully all "Karen's" will stay away from this establishment because the people are always helpful. The food is yummy, avocado toast is my go to, and the jasmine/mint green tea. The coffee is amazing and I hope they add lavender syrup to the menu because it would really compliment the roast. If you like sandwiches and coffee this is the place for you. Try it for yourself and support this family owned business, shout out to the girls who helped me, you made my day! I hope all people are as nice to you as you were to me. read more

Cute family owned cafe. Delicious food and drinks. The highlight were the personalized drinks with images. The kids enjoyed them so much. Friendly staff, especially owner Jordan. He often checked the patio seating outside to make sure it was clean. Tables were nicely marked for social distancing. He even took the time to ask us how everything was tasting and chatted with us for a bit. It was a little busy given it was breakfast on a Saturday but luckily we called in our order and it was ready for us when we arrived. We'll definitely be back! read more

Not a fan. I went there for the food and coffee. When we got inside, place was VERY small and it smelled like sandwiches being heated up. Like a starbucks. I was so not a fan. I told my partner that we will try it but not the food! Only the coffee.... That was the bad idea or choice. The cappuccino tasted like a latte or more like milk with a little coffee. Not only that but it was FLAMING HOT! Both of us disliked it to the max. We tasted our drinks less then 20 mins later. I would like to try it one more time but I need a while to get myself to do that once more. read more

This place was incredible and I'm glad I was in the area to check it out. They are currently open and their seating is outside to allow appropriate distancing. All employees were wearing masks and I think did a great job of keeping everything clean! Strongest but best mocha I've had in a very very long time. I also really appreciated the little smiley face that was added to my mocha cup, so cute! I also got the wake up #2 add sausage and it was sooo tasty. By far the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a very long time. Overall super quality and if I'm in the area again I'll be sure to stop by!! read more

Great location!Great service! Great ambience! Food: I ordered the London Bagel. Definitely a must try with tons of flavor on a toasted bagel. My wife got the pancake and waffle combo that was also great. My son ordered the stuff waffles with bacon. Also good! Drink: Coffee could have been hotter but there fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious! Environment: Service was excellent and the location is awesome. They had scooters for kids to ride around in and blankets if you were cold. Definitely coming here again. Great place if your looking for something low key on a Sunday morning with no Waite line read more

Once you come into this small cafe, you feel the warmth and true welcomes of everyone! They are always so kind! I love that they are open a bit later on Sundays now! They have the best chai lattes!!! Great deals as well! The sandwiches are delicious with their pretzels that have so much flavor in them! The hot chocolate is Tasty too! Small family owned business that does a great job of putting out delicious food and drinks. Had the wicked good croissant( delicious) , Montreal bagel, waffles and three different flavored coffees. Not sure how this has such high ratings. Bacon is pre-cooked and heated in the microwave. Not crispy and not fresh. The waffles taste like they're possibly frozen Krusteaz. Great little coffee & sandwich shop. Owners are delightful and employees really take the time to get to know you. Sandwiches & soup are great. My fav is the USA panini with the Turkey capers a close second. I'm not a coffee expert, I like it as much as any other coffee place. They have a selection of Pattie's but I haven't tried them. Seating is a bit scarce but I've never had a problem getting a seat. Overall a quaint little place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch & chat with friends. read more

This place is pretty good. There is a lot of seating outside and when the weather is nice, it turns out to be a great place to enjoy brunch. Their food is pretty good. A manageable variety. I have it 5 stars because this past Sunday when we had brunch, I ordered the avocado toast, a norm for me, and they used older avocado's. You know what I mean, when the green turns to a gray shade of black. We tried tied to take it back and the guy said the avocado was ripe. Yes, we understood what a ripe avocado looks like, but the slices you gave us was more than several hours old. Honestly, we I would normally give a rating of 1-3 stars. But out of the 5 times we have been there, this is the only time we had a issue. read more

I've sampled chai lattes all over the world and NOTHING has ever compared to Rail Side. A hot chai latte with coconut milk is my usual order, but I recently ordered it iced with soy milk and was NOT disappointed! Lovely atmosphere. The front patio has ample shading and cute tables. The interior is smaller but adorable decorated with train-themed pictures and items. Love this cafe! Their chai and matcha lattes are delicious! Creamy and flavorful. If you get them hot, they usually put a cute design in the foam, free of charge. I just recently had the London bagel, that flavor combination was perfect- tender roast beef, cream cheese, pesto, on an everything bagel. They have really good scones too! I just love the ambience while sitting outside. They usually have French music playing that really makes you feel like your sitting outside at a cafe in Paris. Trying this new place tonight. Cozy little cafe located in San Dimas. At first look it's small only 4 to 5 tables. All kinda sandwiches n drinks. Food is really good all made to order. After our hike at Bonelli we decided to have some coffee. We googled nearby places and found this incredible gem. Wow, not only were the food, coffee and pastries incredible, the location is perfect with an outdoor patio for eating, relaxing and enjoying the great morning atmosphere with other early morning riserThe service was excellent. Breakfast was alright it was a really bougie place . The plates look very tasty and good but the amount per servicing was very low their was not much that they gave . Perfect small town cafe vibe just minutes from the city buzz of the freeway. This atmosphere is the primary reason this restaurant earns 5 stars. The food is less amazing BUT the menu is as advertised. When you arrive you know exactly what to expect. Photos and reviews provide very acurate information. NO gimmicks or funky menu items to desperately attract customers. Rail Side knows and embraces their branded identity and it feels "hometown". Also, the restaurant is directly underneath power lines. If you're eating outside, you can hear the crackling of the power lines (not sure how safe this is). In general, if you're craving a hearty brunch and don't mind a lively atmosphere, this spot is definitely worth checking out. I'd happily come back--maybe just a little earlier next time!

I asked my table neighbor if their eggs came out how they ordered and they said no but because it tastes good like me they don't say anything. I know the place gets really busy and I do enjoy coming because the vibe is good. The coffee and other drinks are good too. I will return because it's worth it and I enjoy coming . I just had to vent a little about the eggs. It really is a wonderful place to spend time and enjoy the food and drinks. I like supporting small businesses and I am happy that this place seems to be doing well.

Their Yelp page, voicemail, and Instagram all say they open at 7:00 AM, but on Saturdays they don't actually open until 7:30 AM. Showing up based on the hours they advertise only to find out they're closed is a waste of customers' time and completely avoidable. The food is decent (better than traditional fast food breakfast) but a little overpriced, and that doesn't make up for repeated order mistakes and inaccurate business information. These are basic things a restaurant should get right. We may give them another chance because the food has potential, but they seriously need to fix their posted hours and improve order accuracy. Right now, the inconsistency outweighs the positives.

Their seating is outdoor on a huge sidewalk under trees and umbrellas. They play old European style music that transports me to being at a cafe in old Europe. The owners are the kindest people, the food is yummy, and the jasmine green tea is my favorite. The food here is really good and they have a lot of healthy options.
