Found this adorable cafe after meeting at Butter which did not impress us. So down the road and happily went in for breakfast with the family. Great eclectic menu but please put some menus on the counter, gave me a head and neck ache looking up. Food was good, Locomotion and a Berlin Bagel, tasty. Chai Tea was good but the straight up coffee was better. Their coffee is good and strong, 50 cents for a refill. Sat outside and it's got a nice vibe with French music playing. Service is good, friendly staff and owners are hands on, even got to cuddle their son! The napkins are too thin and small for the juicy sandwiches. But all and all a new fav for my family and friends. read more

My wife and I ate here this morning. She ordered the protein bowl...it was good and ordered the G.O.A.T sandwich. The G.O.A.T. sandwich had three tomatoes about 1/4 inch. 3 slices of cucumber maybe 1/8 inch a light spread of goats cheese and 2 basil leaves. The Ciabatta bread was not warm or grilled (that was my fault) but the fact that I paid 8.69 for this was crazy. I understand that restaurants have to make a profit to stay in business. but this sandwich was ALL bread. I could understand 6 to 7 large tomato slices. 6 basil leaves, and more cucumber. In their defense, I have eaten here before, and it was great--but this time is really sucked. I worked as a chef in a Greek restaurant many years and I would not be happy serving what they served me. read more

First time here and it's a great little cafe! There is a lot of outdoor seating and tables are spaced out well. Chai tea latte is probably one of the best chais available locally, I tried the hot and iced and both were very tasty. I really recommend this drink especially if you're not a coffee drinker! Price is reasonable and they have pastry specials, so we ended up getting the blueberry muffin and cinnamon scone. They were delicious and were even served with fresh blueberries. Love love love Rail Side Cafe! Normally my husband and I like to go sit outside with our dachshunds to enjoy a wonderful hot latte with breakfast. I'm so glad they are open during this tumultuous time. The gourmet goodness of their menu makes us feel comforted during these trying times. This morning I ordered the Wake Up Breakfast which is a croissant sandwich of scrambled eggs, sausage (or prosciutto) with Havarti cheese which was so delicious. My husband ordered the Breakfast Wrap and he wished he had ordered 2 because it was so good! We can't do caffeine due to Hypertension so we ordered decaf caramel lattes with almond milk and we savored every sip. At Rail Side Cafe, the folks there are friendly, helpful and serve with a smile. The food is is excellent. We feel like we are at a cafe somewhere in Europe when we go to the Rail Side Cafe with the perfect lattes and fresh gourmet yet wholesome sandwiches, soup and other treats! read more

Great service and delicious food! Perfect spot for breakfast and brunch! It was our first time there so they were super patient while I was trying to figure out what to order. They came over several times to our table to check how we were and whether or not we needed anything else. This seems to be a family owned business and the owners are super friendly and attentive! We ordered a turkey panini (per Sam's recommendation), blueberry scone, eclair cream puff, chai tea latte and a white tea. Everything came out great! Second time here, first time got the locomotive and Belgium waffles , delicious. Today we got the protein bowl and the wrap. The wrap was so good too, the protein bowl was good, had good flavor but would be better if hs potatoes (I know it defeats the name of the bowl) overall , love it. And the lattes are good. My girl friends and I ate breakfast this morning, the servers and the cashier who I think is the owner were friendly and accommodating to our request to split our bill. We order avocado toast, caprese panini and a gluten free sandwich which all delicious, the tea and coffee were really good too. We sat under a beautiful tree outside and the tables are set up so nicely, they checked on us often, I really enjoyed my food and my time here. The indoors is so nicely decorated too!! read more

My review is for the breakfast since that's what i came here for. I was coaxed away from another breakfast choice by a fellow yelper due to the demographic (age). Okay always up for something new. This place has good reviews and it appeared dog friendly enough. So i took Louie for a drive and parked between Rail Side cafe and my favorite wine bar. Walked over for breakfast and no breakfast meals...sigh :( So i got the strawberry waffles. Not bad if you like Eggos, but I'd leggo of this dish for a good plate of bacon and eggs. The coffee was good though. You can see my old dog Louie hasn't learned to keep from wrapping himself around a chair. No stars deducted for this. That's on him . This dog needs to get out more. So this is more a coffee and snack stand. Wouldn't recommend for breakfast. More a rest stop after a walk or bike ride. read more

Great breakfast place. Great yelp reviews which led to us finding this place. It's a European style Cafe. I felt like I was in a French Cafe only missing the cobble stone floors. The service was great. It's small enough that you get to interact with the owners. They make you feel at home. They actually help serve the food and pick up. Everyone is helping out which is a great way to get the food out. Great area to chill. The food is different and not your typical breakfast food. You need to come check it out. This café has been on my yelp bookmarks for months and I finally decided to try it earlier this week and WOW I am impressed! Rail Side café is now one of my favorite cafes to go to! Everyone here is super friendly and they check up on you often to ask if you are doing okay and to clear any dishes. The employees also make great conversation and have a great attitude, so customer service is an A+ from me! They have breakfast all day, coffees, and teas. All of them are super good. I had the #1 breakfast sandwich that came with a side of strawberries and it was delicious. The latte I had was nice too. Not too sweet, but not at all bitter like some lattes I've had elsewhere. It's a nice spot to bring your homework and study. The scenery is really pretty; there are train tracks, a park, and some nice townhomes in the area. Plenty of parking and seating (AND DOG-FRIENDLY!). Overall, the food is great, drinks are great, and customer service is amazing! The only drawback is that they close early (4 PM), but that is easily overlooked with the service you get! read more

I thought had written a review, but I think that was on Instagram. I didn't know I lived so close to one the best tasting coffee places I've ever been to. The first time I went I just got a regular cup of coffee (it's how I judge a coffee house) and this was truly one of the best cup of coffees I've ever had, a very rich and bold flavor. I went back and got a white mocha, again amazingly delicious, you could truly taste the espresso and the white mocha flavor did not over take the espresso. It is a quaint and quiet place for coffee and breakfast in the corner of Commercial St. and San Dimas St. It offers good seating outdoors under red umbrellas surrounded by big trees. My family enjoyed our breakfast primarily because of its relaxed and casual ambiance. We ordered The London Bagel, Wake up #1, Locomotive and Kid's waffles. The London Bagel is a must try. Wake up #1 has an option of prosciutto or sausage, and a side of fruits. Kid's waffles has an option of bacon or sausage. I wasn't a fan of the gravy being on the croissant for Locomotive. It removes the crunchy texture that should be enjoyed with the croissant. I hope they revisit this menu. The staff is courteous and accommodating. The service is efficient. The price is more expensive considering a single dollar mark on Yelp. But it is all worth it since the coffee is tasty and strong, the food has a big serving for its price, also delicious. Coffees are served in to-go cups for now so no latte art from previous reviews given the pandemic situation. All in all, enjoy a cozy morning breakfast only served in a local business like Rail Side Cafe. read more
