Apple fritter and a free donut hole!
    Steve F.

Date of visit: November 22, 2024 I've always been a sucker for a good apple fritter, and I'd been curious to try Rainbow Donuts' version seeing how I pass them every time I visit my fiancee's neighborhood. A couple of weekends ago I finally had the chance. For $3.50, I got a very large apple fritter with a free donut hole thrown in. Much more expensive than what I normally pay for at my local donut stores in San Diego... but I ended up splitting the fritter in two due to its size, and each half made for a delicious part of my breakfast over two days. Plus, that donut hole was also pretty good; might have to get a few more of these on future visits. I was taken aback a bit at how small Rainbow Donuts is on the inside, but the service is nice and as I left, several other customers were coming in. I can see myself coming back to try more of the donuts offered.

I've probably been coming to this donut shop for over 20 years now. Sad to know that the previous long time owner sold the store a couple years ago, but just want to mention that he and his family were always kind and super friendly. Always enjoyed the quality of donuts here as well as my kids who grew up on these. Ordered half a dozen today and had to get my old fashioned maple. So so good. The new owner threw in some donut holes to fill in the gaps in the box. Ok, I think we can be friends.

Super cute little donut shop and the donuts are delicious very friendly customer service and extremely helpful

i love the donuts here! they have the style i like which is yeast or raised type of dough. these are much fluffier and easier to eat than cake donuts. other than the buttermilk old fashioned, i haven't tried their other cake ones because i always just go for the chocolate, sugar & glazed twist or circle donuts, maple bar, and apple fritter. the old fashioned buttermilk is great and buttery here. it's not dry like many other shops. the owner seems very nice. i've never had bad service here. it's your simple donut shop with the mom and pop feel. this is your friendly no fuss local donut shop.

We got these for our early morning meeting today. I usually try to stay away from donuts. The blueberry old fashioned was so delicious and fresh! They have a nice variety. Friendly and good selection.

Blueberry glazed old fashioned donut ($1.75), sprinkled donut ($1.5), and half dozen donut holes ($1.75)

Super cheap mom and pop donut shop! Only $5 for a Blueberry glazed old fashioned donut ($1.75), sprinkled donut ($1.5), and half dozen donut holes ($1.75)! + Blueberry glazed old fashioned donut ($1.75): strong artificial blueberry flavor and a bit too sweet for my liking. (6/10) + Donut holes: very plump, fluffy, and airy! She threw in an extra one for me too :) Loved being able to quickly stop and pick up some donuts on the go! Would definitely return to try other donuts.

Looks soo tasty someone pickup one already ^^ Ham, egg and cheese on croissant sandwiches

Wow Rainbow Donuts did an awesome job making delicious breakfast sandwiches. 20 croissant ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches which feed 40 peoples because it was cut in half. I had to pick up before 7 am and it was ready. They put the sandwiches in aluminum tray with aluminum foil to keep it warm. Very thoughtful. The owner, manager & staff were very friendly and professional. Everyone loved it !!! Visually and tasty !!! I heard lots of happiness thanks

Thank you Lynn for Excellent Customer Service taken all my 8 dozen donuts to be prepared for Friday March 1 st for my son funeral. Thank you Pin & Phiek owners, partners, husband & wife all made sure all the donuts orders prepared perfectly. Not mashed up together or squash. Prepared nicely on big white boxes. Excellent presentation to all our family & friends. Was so fluffy like, how my son Shawn loved. Inflation increased what we remember prices but still yummy & delicious. We just call prior to ordering to be prepared how much we're ordering, so enough to get the selections all the selections we wanted to serve. Thank you again Lynn , Pin & Phiek for caring.

Just cruising through town and wanted some coffee and donuts at 4am and came across this place. Variety of Donuts are too cute & good & soft! Even had Vietnamese coffee so great! And the man who helped me was very nice and had a good attitude. Also can't forget it was really clean in there too. Yes I would come here again.

    Nice selection of tasty donuts!

I thought, what about a sweet potato cake. Found two Korean bakers that had sweet potato cakes on the menu. It was kismet this bakery was just down the street from a restaurant we chose for his birthday dinner. I called and the owners took down my name and the fact I'll be there around 7 at night. Didn't even take down payment info or number. I got there a little after 7 & saw they had sweet potato cakes left. Reasonably priced too! $40 for larger and $30 for smaller. I thought $30 would work for just 4 of us but for $10 extra, my partner thought we should splurge. The owner remembered me from the phone call and addressed me by name. While his wife was ringing me up, her husband came up to me with a bag of bread to throw in. That was so sweet. With their service, variety and price point, we'll be back. The cake was delicious too. Not sure how cold their display is but the cream filling in the middle was just cold enough to taste like soft serve ice cream. Intentional or not, it was delicious!

Needed a place to get some work day and Outpost Coffee really came in clutch…read more There were plenty of parking available in a plaza which is shared with other businesses. I went on a weekday before noon and had no issues with finding a spot. For ordering, they had a kiosk inside with pictures for reference as well. It does accept American Express. After ordering, it only took a few minutes before it was ready. As for the atmosphere, there were a few other people, but they were mindful of noise. The music was also moderate, so I was able to focus without any earphones. There was plenty of seating from the center table to seating at the wall and even window seats. There were outlets available near seatings at the wall. There was also free WiFi as well. At first it indicated you would only have WiFi access for 1 hour. However, after the hour, I reconnected and it refreshed the timer. For my coffee, I decided to get an iced Dalgona latte. They provided many pieces of Dalgona. I did ask to get this at regular sweetness and ice. Overall, after the Dalgona dissolved with the ice, it felt like a good amount of sweetness. It was decent, but I've come back to try other drinks!

It appears that they are still in their transition phase as there are still signs of "the Mugs" throughout, including the same menu and company info poster. I got the Banana Caramel latte and it is so good! Slight sweet banana flavor but doesn't overpower the espresso so it still tastes like a coffee drink. Plenty of seating for working and just hanging out. Parking is plentiful, staff is nice, just wish the noise of the refrigerator case wasn't so loud so I could enjoy the background music.

I recommend it to anyone visiting the United States or California as a little adventure and a must-try destination for baked goods. I have never been disappointed by the quality of the food. Ever. I've purchased my daughters' birthday cakes here for years, as well as edible gifts for friends and family. Everything is beautifully made and always feels special. Their house iced milk coffee, however, isn't my favorite. I keep thinking it's going to grow on me, but it never quite does. Still, it's a good reminder that nothing is perfect. My favorite times to visit are in the morning and the evening. In the evening, the selection can be a bit sparse because the bakery is so popular with the community, but that's also part of the fun. You're encouraged to try things you might not normally choose because there are fewer options available. Evening visits are especially memorable because the bakery feels intimate and beautiful when it's lit up. My children call it "the magic garden." One thing I feel obligated to mention: if you're particularly sensitive to social dynamics (as I can be at times), you may notice that Black and Hispanic customers aren't always treated as warmly as others. In my experience, the difference is subtle and not overt, but it's something I've occasionally noticed after visiting for more than a decade. That said, I refuse to let prejudice stop me from enjoying something I love, and I don't think others should either. I was raised with manners and respect, and I make every effort to treat people the same regardless of race, religion, social standing, or background. Please don't let that observation discourage you from visiting this delicious hidden gem. It remains one of my favorite places, and I genuinely believe it's worth a 40-50 mile drive. If you enjoy thrifting, there's a great Goodwill next door and a plaza filled with specialty eateries nearby. Make a spontaneous day trip out of it with friends or family. If you have friends visiting from abroad, this is also a wonderful place to bring them so they can take home pictures, memories, and a story to tell. I honestly can't imagine most people being disappointed. And if you are, well... you might just be a sour grape.

There were only a handful of tables, and almost all of them were occupied when we arrived. Everything we tried was amazing. The hot dog roll was crispy, savory, and super satisfying. The ham and cheese pastry was also incredibly crispy with that buttery flaky texture. My favorite pastry was probably the strawberry lemon creme croissant: fruity, bright, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. For drinks, the Korean plum gochu lemonade was unexpectedly addictive. It was refreshing and citrusy with subtle hints of spice that made every sip interesting. Overall, a great spot to grab pastries and drinks while taking a break from shopping. Definitely coming back to try more items.
