First time going here, came on a Sunday (around 8am) morning to get a dozen donuts. Saw tons of donuts on display, they all looked so good! Ordered 3 chocolate, 3 glazed, 3 sugar, 3 sprinkled. Paid and left. First thing I felt was that the box was not warm. That's fine, I can eat donuts room temp, would of been better if they were warm though. usually after my looooooooong night out, i am on auto drive home. this dount shop is right by the freeway exit on my (sort of ) way home. At 4 a.m. i see the inviting red "OPEN" sign.. i walk into the shop and the dount guy comes out. without a workd, i point to my apple fritter and a maple bar. he puts them in a white paper bag and i hand him $2 and he hands back some change. he walks away into the backroom and i into my car. yup...yup what a perfect way to start my weekend morning. read more

Terrible service. The vietnamese lady behind the counter tried to overcharge me. A day ago (and a nicer employee said) the donut holes were 3/$1. Today she changed the price to 3/$1.50. This is one of the best donuts shops ever! Please go...I always enjoy seeing the owner there early in the morning. I hope Rainbow Donuts stays forever. Walked in here to pick up some donuts before heading in to teach. It's your typical small-town donut shop, which in my opinion is a good thing. Small seating area with a few tables and chairs, filled with the regulars no doubt. The donut case stocked full of delicious looking donuts. the owner was very nice and greeted me upon walking in. I got four donuts and he suggested I get 5 for $4. The only answer was yes! One of these days I'll get around to trying their donuts (as today's visit was for my students). I see want people are talking about with overcharging. She claims she is throwing in free doughnuts. In reality I only asked for 12 doughnut holes and got charged $2.50. She gave a lot extra but I didn't want them. I highly doubt I have ever paid $2.50 for a dozen doughnut holes. The maple bar my son got was good but the doughnut holes were meh. read more

no matter what city I'm in if the craving strikes not just any donut will do. I compare every shop to Rainbow. They've been around forever. Yeah the prices have crept up over the years but what place hasn't done that. Your best bet are the glaze or chocolate frosted raised ones. The maple are good too if in the mood. Got the ham and cheese croissant. I always get the ham and cheese croissant at a donut place. At this place it wasn't that good but its still a ham and cheese croissant so it was definitely edible. There was little cheese and little ham as the ham was roll towards the center and the guy toasted it a bit too much as the croissant was nearly burnt. SMH. Anyways the place is a nice like cute donut place tucked down underneath the sushi place. Kinda cool of a spot. read more

I am not sure what happened to the wonderful and hard-working man that used to own this place. The donuts were the best on the planet. I was saddened today when I visited and realized they are now under new management. I came from an hour away to get donuts because they were that special. LOOOOVE this place! I've been coming here since high school (them good ol late start days) I always get a dozen donut holes, which use to be $1.50 but I'm not sure if the prices have gone up and an occasional glazed old fashioned donut. I've never gotten a bad "batch" of donuts; they're always fresh and fluffy. After my first few trips here the owner began to recognize me and would ask if I wanted my usual. Yay! I've always wanted to be a regular somewhere. The owner is super nice and I love going in and seeing a crowd of regulars just making small talk with him. Although I do like Krispy Kreme, this is the place to be if you're a local here or even just passing by. read more

i just happened to be driving by Rainbow Donuts today when I had the urge for a doughnut. I was met by a woman who clearly did not want to be there. I ordered one buttermilk donut and one raspberry-filled donut. When I started to eat them, the "buttermilk" donut continued to fall apart as I ate it. I have not seen a donut do that before! The other one wasn't even filled with anything! I am not going back! I guess the one positive thing was that she offered me a donut hole when I first entered the shop (but when I asked her what flavor it was, she would not tell me). read more

I love this place - to donuts are so light and "fluffy" for lack of a better word. I wish they had better hours, but over all, I think that this place is fantastic! Try rainbow donuts if you are ever in the Diamond Bar area. They have good coffee, and always though a few donut holes in with your order. Prices are good, and the staff is friendly. The blueberry donuts are awesome. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were! I was a skeptic thinking that they were being way overhyped and expected them to be dried out and lacking flavor. But oh how wrong I was! If you've ever had Entenmann's donut holes from the box, these blueberry donuts are kind of reminiscent of those but with a hint of blueberry flavor. They are softly glazed and have a nice, moist interior with bits of blueberries peeking through the fluffy, crumbly inside. YUM! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back! I regret not getting more of those rings of glazed goodness!!! They taste so light and heavenly :) The lady working there said she was new and didn't know what other people recommended but was nice and we found out that she gave us free donut holes in our bag for an extra sweet surprise! read more

We just moved back to CA after more than 15 years in MN and we missed the old fashioned donut shop. In MN all the donut shops are in the grocery stores. We had a business meeting and it was a good excuse to try a local donut shop. I went online and found Rainbow Donuts. We got there the next morning at 6:00 a.m. The owner greeted us and was very pleasant as we chose two dozen. We had a long drive so we asked if he could please pack them so they will still be in one piece. He did a wonderful job packing, the donuts looked delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy them. By the end of the meeting all that was left was an apple fritter (woohoo, good fortune for me) so I figured I would give it a try. It was the best I had ever eaten. It was almost crispy when biting into it but then soft and fresh on the inside. I know it was a ton of calories but it actually felt and tasted light. I would recommend this shop to anyone going through Diamond Bar and have already gone back myself. read more

I don't always eat donuts, but when I do.. i eat them here. I would pick these donuts over kirispy Kremes any day. They are the right amount of sweet and the dough they use is good by itself! Its cash only.. which can be a bummer, but that would be my only complaint. If your smooth enough and ask for a bakers dozen or just flat out use your charm and ask for a free donut, the owner sometimes gives it to you. Its AWSOME! BEWARE! SHADDY PLACE. Asked for two dozen donut holes, $2 a dozen. When she rung me up, she said $5, I gave you 3 dozen. She said it with a smile like she was hooking me up. I said okay fine and paid. Went home, counted the holes and only got 29. Forced extra on you and didnt even have the decency to give you extra like she said she would. NEVER coming back. I always pass by this place, and ever since I saw the stellar reviews on yelp, I've really wanted to come here. I went on a Saturday at about 1 pm, and decided on getting 2 donuts: the crumb and the chocolate chip bar. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE crumb donuts, especially the Hostess ones they sell at grocery stores, and I've never seen a crumb donut at Krispy Kreme, so seeing a regular crumb donut really made my day. It was a little dry compared to the Hostess donuts, but it made me really happy. The chocolate chip bar was also good. The chocolate icing on the top was delicious and there were plenty of chocolate chips sprinkled on to make my day! The chocolate chip bar is pretty large, and all the prices for donuts are just great. The lady working at the counter gave me free donut hole samples and even threw in a few in my bag, so I ended up getting like 6 free donut holes. :) She was just so so so nice, it makes me want to go again. One of the donut holes was just the regular glazed, and it was average. The other had sprinkles, and this I really enjoyed. The donut was just more soft and more moist than the regular glazed one, and it reminded me of a birthday cake! The only problem I had was eating all these donuts in one day!
