My complaint concerns overcharging fees by Rainbow Paint & Body Shop located at 3500 NW 24 Street, Miami, FL to my insurance company State Farm Insurance company for repair of damages to my car Tesla model Y, that was scratched on or about 8-17-25 on the right rear part at the parking lot of Fresco Supermarket located at 9565 W Flagler St. Miami, Florida. On 8-19-25 I took my car to Rainbow Paint & Body, under the instructions of State Farm Insurance. Two days later they sent the estimate cost of the repair: $10,126.27. On 8-22-25, or about it, I called Rainbow Paint & Body and asked them to give my car back, that I would take it to another body shop, they refused it and said that I have to pay $900+ for the work already done and "restocking charges" (Tesla takes about 2 weeks to deliver the parts and Rainbow was not even close to receive them, there is not restocking). My Porsche was hit somewhere in Miami while I was parked and I filed a claim through Progressive. They steered me to Rainbow, which appeared to be on a sketchy block near the airport - I was skeptical. Turns out that the the block isn't that sketchy, just very "airporty" with lots of airline cargo and support companies all around. And, at the end of it all, I couldn't be happier with Rainbow's service: polite, professional, fast and efficient. Their coordination with the insurance company, as well as Enterprise Rent-a-Car, was flawless and saved me a ton of stress. Their communication was great and they even have an online tracker that keeps you updated on your progress. They delivered my car a week ahead of schedule and the work was perfect. Accidents are traumatic events, we can all agree on that, fortunately there is an amazing paint and body shop at the end of the Rainbow. This shop is thee best especially for Teslas(they're certified Tesla technicians). The staff is friendly and professional and of course they do get the done, and they're excellent at their craft, I simple drop off my wrecked vehicle(2so far), Marisol keeps me updated via txt, Alberto consults with me about what needs to be repaired(parts and labor). AVOID!! BEWARE of THE UNNECESSARY STRESS AND LIES!! I got rear ended on the turnpike on Feb 24 2022. After reading the "positive" (maybe fake) reviews, I decided to take my car to this shop as it is the closest Tesla "certified" body shop to my home. They told me they had to order parts and the earliest availability was in May 9, with time to order and receive the parts. Ok, no problem- not their fault. Everything is working in my car so I can survive until then. I dropped off my car on May 6 to start work on May 9. It took 52 days to fix the damage. The lies these people told me are what no one should deal with and warrants the 1 star. It would have been easy to underpromise and over-deliver, but starting on the 2nd week they started with excuses. The parts that had arrived no longer had arrived. New parts had to be ordered due to the "significant extent of damage" (see the extensive damage in the attached picture). Initially, they never followed up with me, so I had to call. Albert or Martin would say the car would be ready soon. When it wasn't, it was a game of "I don't know who told you that" and blaming each other. "The rain doesn't let us paint it". They are pros at these lies -- read the other reviews. On June 28, they finally call me at 8am saying that my car is getting washed and would be ready "soon". By now I was used to Marisol's "it will be ready in a couple of days" -- a couple of days being 2 weeks in their world so I didn't pay much attention. "Hey, another customer has had their new 2022 Tesla here for 5 months, yours isn't that bad" pretty much sums up their game. How that is supposed to be reassuring - who knows. They finally said on June 28, 51 days after my car was dropped off, that it was getting washed and waxed (I don't think so) and would be ready "soon". It took more than 24 hours to wash the car (this is normal as we have learned they are extremely slow) which ended up dirty when I picked it up (dirty carpets under the "clean" drivers seat paper, etc) and they did NOT fix everything. Some debris that flew and dented my hood was not fixed, and they blamed the insurance. THEY NEVER COMMUNICATED ABOUT THIS, which I could have solved by calling my insurance or paying for it and later claiming. At this point, whatever, I just want to pay and leave these scammers. I have found out through friends that there are other, better Tesla-certified repair shops. Please go ahead and research those before setting up an appointment with Rainbow, because of the unnecessary stress and lies you will get from them. The money you will spend ride-sharing to drop and pick it up will vastly make up for the lost time. Rainbow body shop sucks. There is no way anyone should have to deal with this. I don't understand why Miami has so many terrible body shops. They need better, HONEST competition. Had they been straight up with me from the beginning, it could have been a better planned situation. READ THE OTHER REAL NEGATIVE REVIEWS. Even with a complicated insurance claim, a lot of back and forth and extensive damage, they were able to handle everything The communication from the team on the timeline of repairs, estimated pick up date and status is unlike any other shop I've been to. I had an accident earlier this year, several body parts replaced including 1 head light, 1 side panel, the front bumper and the hood. TALK ABOUT A DIRTBAG EXPERIENCE. I feel like being a female at this place is their license to treat you like you're stupid and BLIND. BUYER BEWARE! Have had my car for a long time and the WORST quality repairs I've ever seen. They are so lazy they blame these inconsistent gaps in the fenders on a gapping tool and say it passes. Please notice the huge difference in the gaps and that some vendors even rub so hard the paint will rub off after I drive it for a week. The paint color also doesn't match. Zero Fs given at this place. Lazy techs with bad attitudes and the "supervisor" isn't better. Avoid Martin if you have any respect for yourself, you'll have to have a lot of patience - he definitely has experience getting away with what he does and doesn't care because of it. He'll also just transfer you to someone who will care as little as him and act just as unprofessional. It's like arguing with toddlers. If you have a luxury car or care anything about quality repairs, if you're depending on insurance, I suggest you pick a professional repair company and not these crooks. They've contacted me 3X to tell me it's done - trim pieces we're not attached, falcon doors were misaligned and not flush with the vehicle, fenders too tight or gapped too far apart, paint doesn't match or blend, vin plates weren't even onsite let alone the fact they weren't attached, stolen parts anyone? IN MY OPNION, BASED ON EXPERIENCE, THIS COMPANY IS NOT PROFESSIONAL and does not deserve any one's hard earned money. Last year, I crashed my 2011 Nissan Juke on a concrete post in parking lot and was so upset that my first crash was my own fault. The accident scratched off layers of pearl white paint and left several dents on the side of my car. I thought that since my car was a relatively new model and its odd shape would make it a difficult car to repair. I have to say that Rainbow Paint & Body Shop exceeded my expectations. When I picked up my car, I was more than happy. It looked like my car was brand new and never had been crashed. The pearl white paint blended seamlessly into the rest of the cars paint.
