Can always find what I want and need love oysters. Love supporting my local small businesses in my community. I recommend to my friends and family, great customer service ....

Building facade. Looks like they kept the murals and windows boarded up after the 3/31/2020 riots.

It's been a very long while since I've been to Rainbow Seafood Market. Really--last time was when they were located on Long Beach Boulevard, which was over 4 years ago. What brought me here today was two different seafood markets were out of oysters. I also just happened to call ahead and confirm they had a case available. Lucky me, I claimed their last box. I like this Pine Ave location better than their Long Beach Boulevard store. There's a lot less clutter and miscellaneous merchandise. Beware this place is also very small and tight inside. Markers are on the floor to enforce social distancing and masks are required to enter. One wall is a complete array of sauces and spices. Produce availability is limited to your basic cilantro, tomatoes, lime, onions, etc.. I came specifically for the oysters, and they had it. Quality was fresh. Not a single bad one in the bunch. A case is 60 count for $60.

We have been a long time customer of the seafood market, prior to them changing ownerships. We had purchased small bag of oysters and we notice half of the oysters was bad after we cooked it on the grill. We had contacted the market and they demand that we bring the bad oysters back to them same day. We explained to them that we had made the purchase and was not able to bring back the oysters due to the event we were attending. They said they were not able to do anything since we did not bring it small day. We wanted to let them know that the batch they had received was bad. They were unprofessional on how to deal with the situation. They should know that bad seafood cause a bad reaction to our health.

Only if I can give them zero stars horrible and oysters are bad and taste like shit and smell so bad

Everyone was super nice. One of the employee employees from the back explained why they didn't have Dungeness crab and he was super sweet about it. There's limited parking in the back of the building and only big enough for smaller compact cars. They have several buckets of fish sitting on ice chips, lining the middle of the store. A couple live tanks against the wall. Decent variety. When I was choosing my fish from their ice buckets, I thought they looked a little extra slimy but against my better judgment just gave it a shot anyway. Took my catfish to the kitchen to request it be fried. Within a couple hours of eating, I got the worst food poisoning I've had in a very long time. This was such a disappointing experience and now I'm sick as a dog. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

If you want fresh seafood at a reasonable price, this is the spot. For first timers we took it easy. I went with the fried fish and scallops. My wife chose the fried fish, shrimp and scallops. Besides fried product, they also have a grilled option. They offer outside seating, picnic style. It's not a fancy seafood spot. It's a grab your food, find a table, enjoy your seafood and beer, while hanging out solo or with a group of friends kind of spot. We'll most definitely be returning

If I could review individual people , Carlos and that person would get 5 stars. I walked into the place 2 hours before closing and I got stared at by two employees like I had just punched someone , it was wild. Like two high school bullies that disliked you simply for existing. I felt like they were about throw me into a toilet or something. We got past that and were eventually seated outside and that was my decision. I ended up not really liking it , the table was a bit wobbly and it was warmer outside than I had anticipated. So, I asked very nicely and considerately if I could be moved somewhere else, and the server looked at me like I had just asked him to flip the entire continent upside-down . He then looked around and found me a spot. During that , a new person came to me and asked me in a very pissy tone, sorry dude, I'm not in the mood to sweat while I tear up this fish. Younger guy , reddish hair. I find my new seat and proceed to be abandoned for 35 minutes. I had ordered my drinks at the old table and it was as if I was being reprimanded for making a request. My older server just left and began washing cups at the bar, and keep in mind he made the switch, so he knows where I am. He's super accommodating to everyone else, but because I asked to be moved, I just stopped existing, it was insane, he wouldn't even make eye contact with me . Millennial dude , hair spiked up. Finally comes in Carlos, who noticed that I was left on the side of the road who asked if I had been help and to which I responded , not really, because I did have my drink order taken , but no food, which he quickly handled. Apparently my drinks just grew legs and walked into the ether, so Carlos reordered them for me along with my food. Following that it was all uphill , the food was great and Carlos really saved the night for me. If I had come in 30 minutes before closing , I'd be mad as well, but it was 2 hours, get a grip dawg. Overall a fairly passive-aggressive atmosphere , with the exception of Carlos and the aforementioned employee. Those two are lighthouses in a sea of angst. Thank you Carlos for almost single-handedly compensating for all of that negative. Ask for Carlos the next time you go.

My favorite items are their BIBINGKA and TAHO. Bibingka is a thick coconut rice cake with a cream cheese center. Their bibingka is baked and flavored to perfection! It has the right amount of sweetness and texture when you bite into it! So delicious! I typically eat it warm and pair it with my morning coffee. Taho is a sweet dessert made from soft tofu, brown sugar, and sago (tapioca pearls). You can have it warm or cold. Very simple and tasty. The bakery also has other options for desserts and serve fresh pandesal (sweet bread) daily. If you have a craving for Filipino dessert I highly recommend San Honoré Panderia!

Unfortunately, one employee, Marisol, consistently provides poor customer service. She comes across as combative, takes no accountability for mistakes, and makes resolving simple issues unnecessarily difficult. My daughter called in our usual order for pickup. When she arrived, she immediately noticed something was wrong because the total was much lower than expected. When she politely brought it to Marisol's attention, instead of acknowledging that there may have been a mistake, Marisol insisted the order had never been placed that way. She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.
