This is a nice edition to the actual restaurant next door and you can buy fresh seafood and some food to sit at their patio and enjoy. They had multiple good options but it was way too pricey to have in a market. The same price as eating inside. I had the mermaid bowl for a whooping $27... small piece of salmon and some rice and green beans. It was very tasty but way overpriced. We also had the fish and chips which comes with their awesome sauce. Perfect bread to fish ratio but still overpriced for a market. They should have cheaper items or at least smaller portions for less if you are not eating in the restaurant. They guy behind the counter was very nice and tried his best but seemed a bit overwhelmed as he was basically doing everything what the server inside would do but also making sure all customers got their order and also served them food. We often come here after a beach day, always go for the fish & chips which are good portion of fresh cod and beer battered chips, the fries are a good touch! The tuna poke nachos are a hit! The crunchy chips, and hint of spice. So good! Service is a hit or miss if you're going to their market side, often customer service is sparse with no recommendations or friendly greetings. While the service is a hit or miss, we love the outdoor seating where our dog can sit next to us and we're able to people watch while enjoying our food. read more

Our monthly date night turned into a spontaneous food binge. After biking off the beach to the main street to find some food, we conveniently stopped right in front of Roe. We opted for their more casual takeout service, their market side. Shared their Blackened Mahi Sandwich, which came with kennebec fries with their Roe Sauce ($20) - such an amazing sandwich! Fish was cooked perfectly, the ciabatta soaked up as much of the sauces as it could, fries were out of this world with the additional sauce on the side to make all your taste buds work. The food was superb, and I can't wait to try more! Service, on the other hand, was cold, hoping for a warmer welcome on the other side of this eatery. read more

The chowder was good, and I will say the presentation was fun, the chowder being poured into the bowl table side from this vessel that looks like a tea pot with a long spout. The outstanding dish was the fish and chips, which got this restaurant the extra star. The fish was light, flavorful, and the breading was perfect; extremely crispy, light, and served extremely hot. Unfortunately we were seated for dinner and given menus but the waitress didn't even stop by to greet us or bring us waters for 10 mins. Wonderful ambiance trendy vibe. The service is super friendly and prompt. The patio area was chilly but the heat lamps kept it comfy. The food was wonderful. They had multiple menus, lots to choose from. The Happy Hour has wonderful pricing. We had the crunchy roll bowl, seasonal oysters and ceviche - all good! The fish and chips were perfectly cooked- the fish was flakey and the outside was not too thick and crispy. It had 2 dip choices but was delish without dipping. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the pappardelle came with lots of tender short rib meat! We are picky about our fried rice and would have liked it to be a bit more authentic- but still good. Definitely a place to come for great drinks and good foods (prices maybe on the high side). But great location and near home so can't complaint about that. They do have a great menu of drinks and the bartenders are great of making it consistently. Our servers are wonderful and great on checking on us to see if we need anything else. They do have both indoor and outdoor so it's nice to be inside during cold or raining days and outside for ocean breezes during hot days. Love it here. read more

I ordered from the Roe Seafood Market. The food is expensive as costs continue to rise. I ordered the blackened mahi fish sandwich - $22.00. The fish was dry. It is served on a ciabatta bun - it was hard. The overall flavor was ok but the sauce makes the bottom of the bun mushy and the top stays hard. You can't eat it without the sandwich falling apart. The fries were hard as well. I like the Roe sauce that comes for dipping. It is harder and harder to have a good take-out experience. When costs rise, you expect you will get a superior product. Sadly, that is not usually the case. The service is fine and the market is ok. Overall, I think I need to come up with dishes I can make at home. read more

FYI: There's two Roe. One is the seafood market at the corner and attached right next to it is the restaurant itself. Only street parking. I didn't know the restaurant existed until I left the seafood market. Anyhoo, we ordered the Captain Platter, Crispy Chicken Sandwich and Fried Fish Tacos. Out of 3 items we ordered, I would say the captain platter was the best. I think everything on the platter was good. The chicken sandwich was MEH and so was the Fish Tacos. The fish tacos tortillas were crumbling and falling apart. It's quite hard to eat the fish tacos while trying to hold everything together. I will try the restaurant next time when in the area. I was so excited about eating at Ro seafood market because we love seafood. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic. Please note this review has absolutely nothing to do with the brilliant service. One person in our party ordered meat while the remainder ordered seafood. The person that ordered the short rib dish loved it. I ordered the salmon and the other person ordered the linguine. We both experienced intense food poisoning. It was a rough long, long night. In addition, sadly, after we finished our meal, a rat scurried across the outside area where we were eating bummer. They say location is everything! I've been taking strolls down 2nd street for years but this was the first time I ate at Roe. As much as I like the shops, bars and steak houses Roe is properly on the outskirts (better yet the end) of 2nd street. Live Jazz, awesome menu filled with plenty of seafood favorites, a welcoming and knowledgeable staff plus Happy Hour! Definitely a true gem. So how did it taste? Grand Manier & Coke - I normally don't comment on my drinks especially a simple one. However, the bar tender did all the little things. Asked if I wanted it neat, on the rock, with a wedge and even what type of glass I wanted. If you're like me, those things matter. Definitely took the guessing out of it and I couldn't have been more pleased. Ciopinno - this California original dish had all the things that you want from a stew. A great bite, a good blend of wine and tomato paste in the broth and a selection of crustaceans. I just with there were a few less shells to highlight the fish and a bit of heat. The sourdough roll, though abundant, was a bit much without a steak knife. Awesome to sop up the broth once the seafood is gone. Peruvian Scallops - though chilled, they pack a nice punch with (what I believe is a wasabi lemon mixture). Not a bad first bite. If you're in the area and want a different pace of a night out, Roe did not disappoint. 28 Dec 2025 My friend James and I have been regulars at Roe for several years. Sunday Brunch. Always very, very good. Today we were given a new Brunch menu. Lots of great new items. James chose the Shrimp and Grits and we were told that today was first day it was the on menu and he was the first to order it. James is from the South and he couldn't stop telling me how wonderful the grits were in texture and taste. The three very large shrimp were seasoned to perfection. The presentation was everything and we both will order this when we return in a few weeks. Check out Roe you won't be disappointed at all. Plus, the staff treats everyone so special. We recently ordered two fish burritos for takeout through Postmates, which came out to $48. Unfortunately, both burritos had barely any fish inside mostly just rice and filler. We called the restaurant to speak with a manager and share our feedback, but no one ever followed up. Came to the market for lunch at 3pm on a Thursday. The service was incredibly kind and helpful! We were served promptly and our food came out very fast! This is the more casual section of Roe, and I was able to quickly be in and out since it's pay at the counter. I highly recommend the poke cevichos! You won't regret this order. Lastly, the food is surprisingly filling. My partner and I were hardy able to finish the poke cevichos and the yellow fin tacos. read more

Really awesome fresh seafood! Unassuming from the outside and right over the Naples bridge, this is my new go to fish spot in Long Beach. We started out with oysters and some raw scallops on the shell with a top of Japanese citrus and wasabi, the server chatted with me about oysters and was knowledgeable and went in depth. My date enjoyed a Caesar in which she like but wasn't a fan of the polenta croutons. I ordered the market fish; a whole delectable sea bream, while she ordered their Fusilloni giganti. Fish was epic, cooked with care de boned and served with fresh blue corn tortillas and sides for the best fish tacos you'll ever have. I went to the sit-down restaurant side of Roe (instead of their fish market, which I do plan on trying eventually) for a nice dinner during the weekend and it was a nice experience. Located on 2nd Street, it's definitely very busy, so don't expect to find parking immediately - I came on my electric scooter, so they were kind enough to let me put it behind where I was seated. There's indoor and patio seating, and on this particular day, I opted for patio given how nice the weather was. I ordered the fish and chips, as well as the Peruvian scallop (one piece). The portions were decent, however, it felt like the food was a little bland overall, hence the one less star. The standout dish was certainly the scallop, although I was a tad disappointed it was only one piece for the price - my fault; I should have asked before ordering it but I had some serious scallop cravings and don't regret getting it. The hostess, waiters, and servers are really friendly but not in a hovering kind of way, so definitely appreciate that. If you're in the neighbourhood and craving seafood, I'd give it a shot - I hear the happy hour food and drinks are worth it. read more

After participating in the Yelp Elite Experience at Foodologie across the street, my wife and I decided to check out Roe. I didn't realize it was a place on my Yelp list of places to check out so it worked out nicely. After mistakenly walking into the restaurant side, we were told takeout orders were placed at the fish market next door. We were pleasantly welcomed by the young lady at the cash register. After perusing the menu, my wife chose the fish burrito with raw (poke style) salmon while I selected 2 of the fried fish tacos. I would have given them a 5 star rating but we found after returning home that they had made the burrito with grilled salmon rather than the poke style which we had ordered and confirmed with the girl who took our order. It was tasty but not what my wife wanted so that is always an irritation when restaurants make these types of mistakes. I did enjoy my tacos which were made using blue corn tortillas. They probably would have been amazing if I had been able to eat them right away instead of 35 minutes later after driving back home. Still, they were very good. I was impressed with the quality of the tortilla chips that came with our order. Thick, crunchy, and tasty. Much better than the Tostitos types of chips of chips that some restaurants give you that are thin and fall apart when you try to dip them in guacamole or even salsa. The cups of salsa that come with their food were flavorful and had just the right amount of kick that doesn't overpower the food. Parking is readily available on Claremont rather than 2nd street. Claremont is one way so you won't be able to turn onto the street from 2nd. You'd need to enter from south of 2nd street. read more

The environment here is absolutely the best in 2nd street. Not too loud, furniture is cozy, various seating arrangements from interior booths to bar to outdoor seating. They have live music sometime too. The food is great. Portions aren't that huge. And drinks are MUAH! Sooo good. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Love it. Parking is classic 2nd street stuff but not impossible. Park in the surrounding neighborhood and you're good. read more

I love this place and today I was served by Lissie and she was amazing. I loved her hospitality. One thing for sure is I have been coming here for 5 years and always greeted by the manager Justin. Justin is very kind. Everytime I come which is every 4 or 5 months he is here and takes care of me and company. Checking on us. Well today for the first time I came with my husband. We had the clam chowder, fish and chips and he was surprised at how good the food was. He was also shocked because they actually had his Favorite hard to find Liquor El Dorado from Guyana! Dined at Roe on a Sunday around 2pm. We were surprised to learn they were only offering brunch food and had live music. We were seated quickly but had a long wait before a server came over to greet us. We ordered chilaquiles and ceviche. The chilaquiles were not authentic one bit, with the sauce being more of a tomato sauce than salsa. The ceviche was delicious. The live music could have been nice if the volume wasn't so loud. This made us have to lean in across the table and raise our voices to have any sort of conversation. With so many other restaurants options on 2nd Street, I don't see myself returning to Roe. Pro tip: Do not plan a brunch date here because it's way too loud to have a conversation. read more

stopped by roe seafood market for a quick bite for lunch. the market is small but fortunately dropped by for $5 taco tuesday. the friendly person behind the counter recommended the grilled salmon taco. i thought it was okay. i coupled it with a cup of clam chowder which had a sweet cream taste to it. not sure i would come back. street parking was easy to find. dined inside. there was a little bar seating by the window which was perfect for a party of one. ate in peace and bounced quickly after. read more
