You're greeted by the maître D who escorts you to your table. Angel was our server. He was attentive and wonderful at helping us choose menu items for our table that specifically we would love. After taking our appetizer and drink selections, he arrived back and helped us choose entrées with the different rundown of sides. Which all looked delicious. Andrew was really cool. He kept bringing us bread because it was so yummy. You have to get the sourdough it's warm and with the butter it hits a spot! I definitely recommend dipping the bread in the clam chowder soup, which was unbelievable. At the end, Angel brought us a slice of Keylime pie to wish me happy birthday. Angel you are amazing thank you very much for a really fun experience at the restaurant.. We love King's Fish House. There are a few of them, but this one is our favorite and we go every time we are in Long Beach. It is just the best of everything, from their service to the seafood and their beautiful location. It is never crowded when we go, but we tend to stick to off hours. I would suggest a reservation for evenings. The place is large so it can hold a lot of people, but it is also very popular. I consider this a fine dinning place although I see lots of people in shorts and tees. But, whatever. It is pricey so I consider it a special place to go. The prices are worth it and not out of line with other great seafood houses. This is not a place for a vegan or vegetarian, but they do have great salads. All of the food is great. We love their fish and chips and all of their entrees are great. They have the best halibut in town. The place is so pretty. It is comfortable and has nice lighting and cute décor. There is not a bad seat in the house. The service is excellent. The staff will take great care of you and they are super nice. Their desserts are also good, especially, their key lime pie. We attended a private birthday lunch for my husband's grandmother (3/14/26). It was our first time here and found the restaurant to be very upscale, yet, relaxing enough to come in with a pair of shorts. We were greeted promptly as we arrived. My husband asked about the Hubb parking discount QR. They quickly showed it to receive the discounted parking rate (it didn't apply in our case since the celebration lasted over 2.5 hours). The private dining room was located in the back between the male and female restrooms. Our server Shauna was absolutely super. She was warm, friendly and catered to the adults and the kids. She even offered to have the kids choose their entrees first so they wouldn't be fussy. Very thoughtful gesture. She showed them kindness and respect during the entire service. She even entertained them with fun tattoos. The kids menu activity also kept them busy. Our cups were never empty and she always made sure everything was made and served to our liking. When it was time to package things up, she also took the time to make sure everyone's to go order was divvied up in the correct bags. She provided a fantastic meal service with a warm smile throughout. We really appreciated her. The clam chowder was good. The garden salad was fresh and the vinegarette dressing was perfect. The calamari was nicely battered. Dips were good. Artichokes were cooked well. Crabs cakes looked nice but we didn't eat them. Warm sourdough bread was served with nice soft butter. The sirloin steaks was cooked to our request and the sides of mash and spinach/ rainbow carrots were good. Kids cheeseburger on point. Kids chicken tenders were fancy. We had a cousin who is strict vegan and the manager came to speak with her directly to create a personalized entree. It came out beautiful and tasted great per her report. After we enjoyed our lunch, it was time for dessert. I chose the key like pie and my husband chose the chocolate cake. Key lime pie was double the regular slice and we had to take it to go. Very tart with a nice crust. Chocolate cake was rich. After the meal was finished, the kids went out the back doors which lead to an outdoor patio area for the hubb. The four grandkids had a blast running around outside. We had a great experience. We greatly enjoyed the food, and Shauna made the experience even better with her phenomenal hospitality. A Friday night at the end of Jan; after arriving to LA we checked in to our hotel (Hotel Royal) and strolled down the street to find dinner. We thought there might not be seating available on a Friday night but the host was able to fit us in! The host, our server, the bartender, and other staff we encountered while here were so friendly and engaging. We felt like we were regulars! We ordered our usually drink of choice - a classic Negroni. Yum! The first food item we ordered was the oyster sampler. Man, was this amazing!!!! It was such a great selection. There were 6 different varieties that allowed you to taste some saltier ones, some sweeter, some much smaller, and some oysters that were large! It was fantastic being able to try the different kinds. There were two of each of the 6 varieties so it worked perfectly for us. We decided our favorites were: Hama Hama, Kumamoto, James River, Barcat, and Rappahannock. Which I guess means we didn't prefer the Rincon de Ballenas as much as the others!!! Although they were still good we just wouldn't order a dozen of them. They were served with freshly grated horseradish, habanero relish, mignonette, and cocktail sauce. I may have got the relish wrong, it might have been jalapeño, either way it wasn't too spicy and it was very tasty with a hint of sweetness. While enjoying our meal a lady from the marketing team came up and asked if we'd like a free drink. It was their new cocktail which was not on the menu yet. They were taking photos of it for the website and she said she didn't want to waste it so she let us try it out! Sooo good!!! Very refreshing and light. It was called Pure Intention. Next our main course came out. We ordered the Cioppino and the Live Wild Dungeness Crab. The cioppino was fantastic. I was excited ordering this because my boyfriend didn't know what cioppino was and I love it! It was just as expected - fantastic!!!!! I was also very excited about the Dungeness crab but unfortunately that was a bit of a disappointment. It looked fantastic when it arrived at the table. Great presentation on the plate, but upon cracking into it I was greeted with a dry almost grainy texture to the meat. I've eaten a lot of Dungeness crab in my lifetime especially when I was living in Northern California and we were trapping them during season so I was very disappointed that the crab at dinner was not reminiscent of those crab days. It was overcooked or it had been frozen, or both(even though the menu says Live). It did not pull out of the shell easily and really just felt dry. I didn't want to complain to the server because I had a really incredible time and everything else was spectacular but my boyfriend insisted saying that it would inform the kitchen so the next person ordering it wouldn't have the same issue. The most important thing is the seafood, of course, and that definitely lived up to the expectation of royalty. Over the past two months, my family and I have eaten at King's Fish House on Pine three times. We keep coming back because our first visit was such a great experience, and the food was amazing. We consistently order the buffalo wings as an appetizer, and they're a solid 8 out of 10. I love that they bring out a steel bowl for the bones...such a simple but thoughtful touch. My mom is a big fan of the blue cheese dressing, and I have to agree, it's pretty good. The clam chowder also deserves a shout-out. We'd give it a 9 out of 10. It has a great balance of clams and potatoes, the consistency is perfect, and it's not fishy at all...just the right depth of flavor. As for the entrées, they've been a bit hit or miss, which is disappointing in terms of consistency. My dad has ordered the trout three times. The first time it was perfectly cooked, but the second and third times it came out overly dry. The mashed potatoes followed a similar pattern....amazing and extra creamy the first time, but colder and with a different texture on the last two visits. That said, we do plan to continue coming back. It was early in the evening, so the restaurant wasn't busy, and we were greeted and seated right away. For entrées, we ordered the blackened ono sandwich, which came with a nice thick piece of fish and really good flavor. Though I would say I tasted way more pickled onion more than fish. We also tried the shrimp and scallop plate. The sides, cauliflower and mashed potatoes, were delicious, well seasoned, and cooked well. The main seafood portion, however, was just okay. The shrimp were slightly overcooked, and both the shrimp and scallops had that "heavily seasoned cover up" taste. The seasoning itself was tasty, but it made the seafood seem less fresh than we expected. The prices were also steep considering the quality and portion size. I was full after, but I feel like I was just filling up on the carbs from the mash potato and fries. My tacos were just average - so why does King's fish house deserve 4.5 stars? Let me explain... for starters, I have eaten there before and this is the first time my meal was just "ok". Not only was Kylee incredibly attentive and enthusiastic but she was also very helpful with recommendations. I truly appreciate any server who is willing to give honest feedback and advice on the menu and help you make a selection that is perfectly aligned with what you're in the mood for. Back to my tacos. The biggest complaint was that the sea bass was slightly "fishy" and not the mild flavor that I typically love and associate with a good sea bass. Otherwise the tacos were "good" but not necessarily memorable. The restaurant is also very loud - which is not a problem for me but was for some people at my table. Sat in the open seating portion of the bar for a late lunch. It wasn't very busy so can't tell if it's typical like this or if it was because it was the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend. We watched the race from 2 of the 4 TVs they have in the bar area. This is very disheartening that I need to leave a review like I'm about to do. Which is very scathing. Upon entering this restaurant which was not even full. I tell the rude Hostess that I have a reservation she asked if I'd like to be seated in the bar with my husband and when I said no I prefer a booth and looked towards the dining part of the restaurant, we were then guided to a booth way off in the corner of the bar below the tv. The server by the name of Kylie comes to the table. I should have known when she referred to us as some servers do that this was going to be a miserable experience. While she was waiting to take our drink order she came and basically threw some bread and butter on the table without even looking in our direction. She then takes the drink order and proceeds to help every table around us. Now, there was maybe about four people at the bar. The bartender was too busy laughing and cutting up and talking to patrons rather than mixing the drinks that were ordered. While everybody around us received their drinks, even the gentleman who came in by himself and was seated after us and ordered drinks after us as well as an appetizer received his appetizer and drinks while the waitress decides to go and deal with a four top to laugh and cut up and disappear with their dirty dishes rather than checking on us or checking on the bar to see where our drinks were. It was at that point that my husband decided that we were going to abort this miserable mistake of stepping foot in this restaurant. All of this was a 30-minute wait after being seated for drinks to be made and brought to the table from the bar, which was not even a hundred feet away from where we were seated. We got up to leave I don't know what was said with the hostess but she was rude when she asked my husband why we were leaving. I could be just about anybody or should I say we could have just about been anybody from high roller to the lowly Long Beach ghetto citizen walking into your restaurant with a credit card ready to order very expensive dishes that are not worth half the price that you have them priced at on the menu. If anybody reading this would like to have some really good food and really great service and fast service too go to Simzys in Belmont Shore. Not only did that waiter understand our plight, he explained to us that the corporation that owns Kings also owns 555 and a few other restaurants that are swanky. I have no intention of stepping foot back in this location or any other location of Kings ever again. The food that we ordered at Simzy's was amazing the drinks were amazing and we didn't even spend near as much as I intended to spend in this restaurant. As a Google influencer I plan on spreading this homosexual discrimination across all the airwaves that I can, because we were the only homosexual couple that was seated in that restaurant and the only homosexual couple that was ignored by a rude waitress and a dumb bartender that probably couldn't mix a drink to save his life. So if you're gay and you're celebrating Pride don't celebrate with King's Fish House you'll just receive some of the same miserable service that we got. Which is a very far stretch to even say, because service is the one thing that we never received from this server or from the bartender or from the rude Hostess who more than likely was the one who picked up the phone when my husband called to complain he asked to talk to the manager and very rudely was put on hold when the hostess said okay gotcha. So as an influencer and someone who does Google reviews and Yelp reviews for every single restaurant that I step into, mark my words this review is scathing and every word of it is true. If you don't believe me, as a patron go in there and see for yourself I guarantee you you'll walk out and if you don't walk out you're a fool because some of these reviews that I'm reading on this place I'm glad that I walked out. There's nothing like reading reviews that said that the crab cakes were small and appeared to be previously frozen. So restaurant manager, I can't wait for you to come back at this and try and make it up to me cuz there's not a damn thing that you can do to make it up to me other than don't bother trying to keep my business and I will make sure everybody I know here where I live in San Pedro and where I formally lived in Long Beach stay the hell of your restaurant and spend there harder money somewhere else where they're going to get more bang for their buck and excellent service. read more

I have dined here a few times in Long Beach but was also a frequent flyer in Laguna Hills. Kings is one of the BEST SEAFOOD restaurants in SoCA. I love love all of the fresh oysters, raw seafood, halibut, and specials of the month ( items in season). The initial bread basket- delicious. Cocktails superb! My personal fave is : To If By Sea. Extensive quality wine list. I like the Infamous Goose if I'm dining with a friend. Weekly/ Monthly specials are so refreshing vs. a menu that never changes. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Kings Fish House on Christmas Eve. Our server Jason was really great, but truly the entire staff was amazing, and y'all deserve a shout out. We were out with our 4 year old son, who is on the spectrum, and going out to eat can often be stressful for our family, but from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. When our son became overstimulated and started running around, instead of scolding us or making us feel uncomfortable, the hostess spoke to him kindly and treated him with respect. She even gave him a stress ball as a Christmas gift, which made me tear up, and calmed him down enough for us to finish our meal in relative peace. What could have been a very stressful situation turned into a breath of fresh air -- it honestly felt like a warm Christmas hug. I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first bite out of my Miso Yaki Chilean Sea Bass. It was flavorful with a mild sweetness and flaky. I really enjoyed the mushrooms and bok choy that also contained the sweet mild sauce. They provided a small cup of rice which was a nice combination but not necessary. I asked the bartender to make a whiskey smash for me that wasn't on the menu and he did an amazing job. He definitely knew how to substitute and make it taste better than what I was used to. He also made me a second drink that was his special concoction. I was truly pleased and will definitely go back for the food and the bartender, Steve's, drinks. I can't believe it but I almost forgot to mention their superb clam chowder. Oh it tasted so fresh and not something from a can and the best part was it didn't contain sand. The clams were expertly cleaned and so tender. I ended up ordering another cub to take home. I was there during lunch. It wasn't packed. There were a few business people there for lunch, so it was a nice and quiet place to dine. I liked our booth by the window. It was very spacious and we were able to people watch Pine Street. We had a really sweet waitress. I wish I could remember her name, but the other bartender who waited on other tables was also attentive and filled my request when our waitress stepped away.
