Dare I say we were spoiled by the best on our first go?? Laura makes all her syrups herself from real fruit. I was told by the owner this is how shave ice is supposed to look like. Being born and raised in Hawaii, I know what shave ice should look like, or in this case, what it's NOT supposed to look like. I got to try Rainbow Shave Ice Kauai and it did not disappoint! The brightly colored truck is nicely tucked in the corner of the Ohana Hale Marketplace Kahuku, right by Ride & Grind Cafe and Tina's. When you look at the overall food trucks that are occupying the spaces, it fits perfectly well and adds variety with the already existing options. I ordered the Kahuku Sunset and it was good and refreshing! It's sweet but not over-whelming. The flavor is rich and natural because their syrups are homemade and organic--so don't expect this to be your typical shaved ice experience.
