We were with a large party and I get it it's slower with a big group but it took 50 minutes to get water. The two kids that ordered pasta didn't receive until everyone else was more than half done eating. They are woefully understaffed to the point that it took us 2 1/2 hours for lunch. Stopped in to pick up a to go order. One order of the creole Mac and cheese. I called it in so I didn't have to wait long. I was told 15-25 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later to pick up my food. Right away, the bartender checked on my food and said it should be right out. 10 minutes past and nothing. Another 10 minutes past and still nothing. Finally, a manager came out to talk to someone by me. I asked her about my food. She disappeared and then 5 minutes later it came out. It's ridiculous to make people picking up food to make them wait 40 minutes, especially when it's called in ahead of time. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Rainforest Café is a rainforest-themed chain for American fare and cocktails amid jungle flora and animatronic animals. It's located on inside of Ontario Mills. The atmosphere of this place is so fun. If you get inside of this place, you will enjoy the atmosphere and the sound of a unique jungle. Kids will love this place. I guess this place is crowded most of the time, so you have to wait for a while to get your seat (average waiting time is 20 - 25 minutes). We ordered RASTA PASTA and LEMONADE. The food was good. Firstly, the service was amazing. Our server, I can't remember her name but when I do I'll edit this, was absolutely amazing. She was quick, efficient and very friendly. Secondly the food was very delicious. My husband had the pulled pork and had no complaints, only wanting more sauce, personal preference. I had the fish tacos based off our wonderful server's recommendations and absolutely loved it, also personally prefer more sauce. The fish were huge pieces, cooked to perfection. The cabbage filling with the jalapeño dressing was full of flavor with the pico on top. Our daughter had the cheese pizza and only had one slice left because she was full, so definitely a good sign. Our drinks were fantastic and definitely worth the $14 to get a souvenir glass afterwards. Ambiance however is why this isn't a 5star review, and if it weren't for the staff, would have gotten a 2star. Inside the restaurant was very muggy, made the table sticky even though it was clean, and almost made it uncomfortable to eat and stay in. We were seated by the water feature with the giant gold man statue and the water was filthy. You can see a solution on top as well as sugar packets and other trash that were thrown in. And the tables were a little too close to the other tables. I understand space is needed for safe and accessible walks ways. Maybe rearranging the tables can open up the restaurant and a new walk through plan can be made so servers and guests are happy. Food was like gas station food. I ordered beef nachos and received dried beans and tiny dry pieces of beef on chips, maybe a tablespoon of beef. Service was super slow. Took an hour and a half to get our food. The kids were very hungry. I didn't see any managers walking around. They did have distractions, people walking around making balloon animals for tips. And luckily they have all the decorations to entertain kids as well. We waited long for the check to come. Wish we would've asked for a discount. While waiting for my husband to pay the bill I walked my 4 year old twins and 2 year old around. It was taking very long for the server to pick up our check so I went back and told my husband to just leave cash, as I told my husband that a predator tried to walk out with my 2 year old son. It's very dark in there and was really busy. I was holding my 4 year olds hands. And it took 2 seconds to look back at my husband for them to try and grab my son. Police were called but there were no cameras in the section where it happened. Rain forest cafe you need to do better, this place is dark and filled with children and distractions, you should have more cameras and management walking around. Beware when coming here and watch your small kids like hawks. And if service is slow and the server doesn't come, look for a manager asap, don't wait around like I did. read more

I grew up going to rainforest cafe as a kid at the downtown Disney location, so sad they closed down so I had to come here, took my boyfriend with me for his first time! And my first time coming as an adult! We came as a walk in Monday afternoon, only waited barely 15mins and enjoyed the Photo Booth during our wait unfortunately it charged me twice tho..): We really enjoyed our food, was so good! He got the raspberry glazed salmon, I got the taste of the islands plate. I'd rate both an 8/10, really good, just lil things that coulda made it a 10 but still enjoyed it! My strawberry lemonade was like any other. His fusion margarita wasn't too great, we wouldn't get again. It contains cazadores which was too overpowering over the flavors it's supposed to have, just in our opinion. We really just wanted the cups haha which you take home after enjoying your drink! Such a steal! His margarita was $14, my lemonade was $10. Ambiance was very fun, service was alright. Little slow and could never find our server. We came here yesterday, and it was such a nice time. We had a reservation at 3 and were seated right away. Our server (I wish I caught her name) was very nice and attentive to us and brought everything out in a timely manner. We got the spinach and artichoke dip, which was delicious. For our mains, we got the shrimp sampler and bourbon barbecue salmon with coconut shrimp. Both dishes were delicious, and the star of the dishes was the coconut shrimp. Rainforest Cafe is as charming as I remember, but I only miss the fish in the water tank at the entrance. We came to Rainforest Cafe because our daughter had a great experience at the location Downtown Disney and wanted to have another lunch visit. Boy were we in for a surprise when we decided to visit this Ontario location. Keeping in mind that we knew from other Yelp reviewers that this location has been around for over 15 years and has lost some of its luster. Also most guests come because of a children's event or they have a strong desire to save the rainforest, they don't come here for the sophisticated and upscale dishes, which are non-existent at the Rainforest Cafe. The first concern was the truly outdated animatronics that not only showed signs of wear and tear but the fact that they just were not properly maintained and so they showed missing parts or just didn't function. We also immediate noticed that the fish tanks were completely empty, which is sad because that is the main focal point when you walk in to make your table reservations. Thankfully my daughter didn't notice or just ignored all these small details for the bigger picture of having lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. We did appreciate the "storms". They included thunder and flickering lights to mimic lightning. The reason for the single star was the lack of service. We arrived a little after 1p to a mostly empty Rainforest Cafe. The staff seated us promptly which is always a great start to any meal. Once seated, we waited and finally started to time our interactions with the staff due to the noticeable wait times. It took a twelve minute wait before the first waiter arrived to take our drink order. Regardless, we understood that perhaps they were busy (even though the restaurant was noticeably near empty) so we just entertained ourselves with games until the next waitress arrived an additional fifteen minutes later to take our food order. We placed the order without a hitch, and the waitress was actually friendly and helpful. Then began the longer wait. Our drinks didn't arrive until another twenty minutes after the second waiter took our order, we were quite surprised since it was only Icee's and water that were ordered. Not too short after the drinks arrived, our waitress disappeared for the greater part of the evening. An additional twenty minutes later (now over half an hour) our order of a kids plain hamburger and our orders of a cheeseburger and fish and chips arrived. We had to flag down a staff member for condiments and that was it, our table was never again visited by any the staff the rest of our visit. Towards the end of our visit, we waited for our waitress to ask for our bill, but she never arrived. Anxiety from our daughter started to kick in after a while so we flagged down the first staff member we found to ask for the bill which felt like an inconvenience. Really is unfortunate because outside of this unfortunate visit, we have always known the purpose of the Rainforest Cafe is to promote awareness and preservation, but yet we felt like we were being encouraged never return by the staff. read more

This place cannot get it together. We came 15 minutes after opening (at 11:45 AM). After standing in line, we were told we were in the wrong line and needed to go elsewhere to make a reservation. No signage indicating a separate reservation line. After putting our names on the wait list, we were told it would be 20 to 30 minutes and that they would text us. It's been over a week and we still have not heard about our table (we knew this was going to happen and had lunch elsewhere). Please don't waste your hard earned money on this place. There are much better dining options in the area. It's no wonder other Rain Forest Cafe's are shutting down across the country and it won't be a surprise that this one in Ontario will bite the dust. read more

It wasn't good. The rainforest gimmick was fun for the kids for the first half hour or so, but if you want to hear the person sitting next to you, this isn't the place. The waiter was nice but forgot one of the orders (which was comped), and the food didn't arrive until everyone else was pretty much done. After the food arrived, my half of the table didn't see the waiter again until the meal was over (no drink refills). I'm actually not blaming the waiter at all, because the poor guy was literally running between tables. All of the staff seemed to be doing the same. At those prices, maybe hire enough staff to cover the restaurant? The ribs and burgers were fine, if overpriced. The steak was inedible. Several in my group ordered the sirloin and received chunks of something that had clearly been prepared in the fires of Mount Doom. Drier than the Sahara, and one of them was literally black and had a crust of charcoal. I never send food back but would have with this if my waiter hadn't been too busy running marathons between tables to check in. At $35 a plate, the highlight of this place shouldn't have been the lady offering to make balloon animals for the kids. read more

When we arrived the dinning/seating area was sparse with only a few tables taken but was told a 30 min. wait. No worries! short staffed among other things totally understandable. We decided on the bar since you can seat yourself. Again, not super busy but a couple tables. We had been there long enough that we got drinks, appetizers and lunch all ordered in one go. Drinks were good not skimpy at all. Then the food came out, not I typically always get the same thing but something was lacking? it was good, don't get me wrong but it didn't have the pizzazz it once had. The restaurant was clean and very inviting. I recommend making a reservation before going because it does get busy. My son loved the animals and the gift shop. The adult beverages are delicious. Now the food was terrible!!! I recommend getting the most basic thing on the menu. Maybe a burger or nachos. It was cold and taste like it was heated up in a microwave. Prices were not to bad for the experience, but the food did not warrant the price. I still recommend this place for kids and families, but don't look for your taste buds to be satisfied. We were seated in a corner with broken couches and very tight table space! If this is a good chain as they claim they are, they should have regular checks if their chairs and tables are still at par. We had reservations last night and we had to up the guest list amount last minute. The hostess was very accommodating and helpful and sat us quickly. Our waitress was Justine and she was AMAZING! She was attentive and courteous with my party. She kept checking on us EVERY time she past us even going to another table. The management even came over to our table and said hello and asked how the service was. He noticed that my dad was a veteran and immediately said that he would apply a discount to our bill for his service. The food was incredible. The portions was huge. A Perfect Evening Turned Sour If you've been here before you know very well that nobody comes for the food. The atmosphere here is what makes it so special. We had an hour and a half wait for 3 people but it was so much fun to explore the gift shop and letting my son pick out some toys. It was his first time here so we tried out the photo booth and everything. Every single detail was magic to him. HOWEVER One sour interaction really put a damper on this night for us. My son (Charlie, 6 years old) was amazed that his menu had a scavenger hunt. He got a tip for where to find Tracy the Tree from one of the waitresses and headed into the retail shop to find her. While there, he found some rocks on the floor and put them in his pockets because he literally collects everything. Apparently he was confronted by a shift supervisor there, Doreen. She had him empty his pockets and took the rocks back. Frightened, he ran back to our table where she followed him and blew up on me calling him a shoplifter and a thief. She said he's been digging through all of the shelves and stealing. He wouldn't eat his food. He wouldn't play games. And he was on the verge of tears. I understand being upset, but this was just out of control. Confront the child and direct him to put the rocks back. Don't traumatize him. That's just not a strangers job. I didn't have it in me to ruin our night by making a big deal out of this but from my experience: EVERY single employee here was an absolute blessing (especially our waitress Evelyn), except for one.
