My first time going to this Raleys, I just went to pick up a couple things and I went through the self checkout lane. Definitely a mistake, it was busy but wasn't busy enough to get thrown an attitude from an employee. Drezenaka, her name tag stated she was the Customer Service Lead which seems very strange because she didn't provide good customer service at all. I understand we all get overwhelmed but as someone who works in customer service as well you have to keep yourself calm under pressure and thats never an excuse to be rude. 1st. i had to wait for her to come back to the station to approve the bag i took which messed up the scale which is completely fine but when i looked back at her to see if she cleared it, she was talking to someone else. So i wait a couple more minutes, looked back again and she just stared at me and said "it should be fine". Then, my pin pad froze when I attempted to pay so I had to wait again for approval, when she comes to help she sounds irritated already and states" you must've tried sliding your card multiple times" I responded No because all I did was insert the chip as stated then the machine froze. and she proceeded to suspend my transaction and do it on her register. She gave me an attitude again when i walked up to finally checkout. Didn't say thank you, didn't apologize for any inconvenience, didn't really even look at me just handed me the receipt and turned her head. Considering also that this is a higher end grocery store the customer service is supposed to be at a higher standard. I don't think I'll be stopping at this one again anytime soon which is unfortunate because it is very close to very I just moved. read more

Came here today for a birthday cake, asked the girl in the bakery to write on it for me. (Happy Birthday Brian). First off the cake is black, red, and white she used a very light color orange for the writing! She did not dot or cross the T's either. I did not know this because I did not see the cake after I had her write on it as she taped the box. I was am pissed because I NEED THE CAKE NOW for a birthday. Oh well when they ask where I got the cake I will make sure to say Raleys on Madison ave. When I called the head clerk that answered was like "so what do you want me to do about it" I told her I just wanted to let her know what happened as nothing can rly be done at this point. She didnt care. I used to work for Bel-Air/Raleys when I was in college and boy oh boy has it gone down hill. read more

Great quality, clean and neighborhood friendly. We've shopped at this Raley's for 15 years now. Never an argument or attitude. I forgot my "extras" coupon in the mail, and May said, "no problem", took it off the top with no questions. That was 8 dollars worth of service! You get what you pay for. Great store. read more

Love this store but be careful when getting cash back! The cashiers are NOTORIOUS for forgetting to give you the cash back.

After shopping at this Raley's for decades, I'm done. The prices have steadily increased as Raley's has tried to be similar to Whole Foods and Nugget. That's fine, I know to shop only the sale items. What really has caused me to leave are the employees. More than once a head cashier has spent the bulk of my transaction talking with their fellow workers or giving instructions to another cashier. I don't need their undivided attention but it's like they can't be bothered to acknowledge the customer who is buying something. This has happened numerous times over the past few years but the attitude of two head cashiers today when I "interrupted" them to ask a question was the last straw. No thanks. read more

Raley's is the best grocery store: great selection of just about everything, excellent service (always above and beyond); really it's their higher standard quality that sets them apart. As for Bel Air, I've been less impressed with their store in comparison but still prefer it to other grocery chains around. read more

This is my favorite grocery store. Perfect in variety of brands to choose from. Always find what I need without a hassle. They have an excellent bakery and deli, and the employees are refreshingly friendlier, and more helpful than most grocery stores. They have a lovely floral department also. I love that they have a health food section with vitamins and herbs as well. They always carry quality fruits, vegetables, and meat. read more

I have been shopping at Rayleys most of my life and have always had great experiences shopping there. I came in on Thanksgiving (hazel location) and brought my small dog in which usually they don't say anything about and I do here and there but I know it's usually frowned upon because of all of the food in the store. He is technically registered as an emotional support dog too, but not a "service dog". Anyway I was checking out and one of the managers- she was on the short side with dark hair, I didn't catch her name but she really hurt my feelings. After all it was Thanksgiving too! She started saying how I can't have my dog in at the store and she wasn't kind at all about it, and basically rolled her eyes and made me feel like I was human trash. I definitely didn't deserve that treatment after all I responded appropriately and was cool about it. She made a huge deal and she kept repeating it over and over making me feel even worse and rushing me through the checkout process even though she wasn't the one checking me out since she was obviously a manager. I usually don't get super sensitive when people are rude to me but this was a unique experience. I feel sort of bad for the employees that work under her because she seems to be someone with little empathy and an angry person in general. I do not believe she should really be a manager if she has those unfavorable personality traits for the customers and employees sake. Rayleys is a great company and I hope they eliminate poor management because I've never been treated that poorly before by any Rayleys employee ever! read more

I have been to many grocery store, but I consistently come back to this one even if it is out of my way. First off the employees are always helpful especially in the produce and butcher departments. The have a better selection of fresh fish than some of the other store near by. I have never had to stand in a line with more than 2 people in front of me without someone oping up another register. read more

Very disappointed in the produce. Third time I've purchased produce and it was not good. The organic cuties are not organic...there are no seeds and they are dried out inside. I don't have a bunch of money and Raleys is on the expensive side so i have to pick n choose what i buy. So disappointed. read more

Raleys Bakery: I went in today and wanted to buy the Italian Rum Cake. A very classy, beautifully designed cake with fluffy white icing with a nice soft cake and white filing. Well it would've been lovely to know that it now has changed. The cake is half the original size, overpriced, and absolutely disgusting tasting. When I served it to 4 people they didn't even want to finish it. It puts the name "Italian Rum" to shame. The brown layer of what basically tastes like poop, was added to this cake and it's just awful. I used to boast about going to Raley's to get all cakes done for anything but it looks like I don't even need to shop there anymore. read more

I shop Raleys when i can't get to Sprouts for organic fruits and vegetables. I can't afford to buy cart loads of food because i don't make a lot on my job. I am working on eating only real foods. Raleys is pricey so i stretch containers intended for one/two serving into three servings. I like Raleys but many of the customers are snooty, walk right into me as if i were invisible....the cashiers are super friendly as is the produce guy. read more

I went here with my daughter to pick up a six pack for a barbecue we were having, The lines were kind of long in the regular check out, and I did see some attendants at the self check out kiosk that can help with alcohol. I walked up to self check out, there were three attendants chatting about their weekend and gossiping, when I asked if they could please check us out with our beer. I was greeted with a "are you next in line?!", obviously as state California laws mandate you cannot use self-serving kiosks at self check out for alcohol purchases, which is why I went to the attendant for her to check me out. After she aggressively asked for my ID and I obliged, she ripped my receipt from the printer did not look at me handed it to me and said "I can help the next person in line!" Which is odd because as I explained earlier when I walked up there was a line and they didn't care about anybody who was next in line as they we're gossiping about their weekend and what they were going to eat/drink. This is exactly why I stay away from Raleys, the customer service is absolute junk. This cashiers number 7112 is the most rude person I have ever encountered in a grocery store, my advice to the general manager is to remove said person from dealing with the general public and shove them in the back where they can count boxes. read more

I often shop at this store and enjoy my experience because the store is clean, well organized and the staff is great. I've never had a negative experience. On Monday, September 10, I visited the store checked out at the cashier lane being operated by May Lu. The first thing I noticed was how efficient she was at managing the register. She quickly processed items and at the same time engaged in in a very friendly manner with the customers. Just from watching her, you could tell that she had done this work for very long time. When I got to the register, she made a couple of recommendations of products that were on sale. I was very grateful for this as it did save me money in the end. I highly recommend this store! There's a real sense of community here to. They have a nice bulletin board near the restrooms with things that are happening in the Fair Oaks area. read more

If you want the best grocery shopping experience in Fair Oaks this is the grocery store to come to. This store understands good customer service and What it means to appreciate people and customers. They are so helpful and the store is always stocked, has fresh produce, a great deli and bake goods. They keep the store clean and well merchandised. There is a drug store and post office and bank right in the store. The best part is that when you get to the checkout not only will they take your groceries out of the cart for you but they do it with a smile and I never have to wait in a line. My dad has been shopping here for years and found this gem of a store with great people. And while all the employees are helpful and nice there are two that I must mention because they go above and beyond they are Julie and May. These two ladies are well..... simply put AMAZING!!!!! Every time I go into the store they are hard at work a rare quality these days. These two ladies go out of their way to greet customers, smile and help others and it doesn't stop there. I have personally seen them helping others while trying to buy their own groceries after a long day at work and they do it still with a smile and a positive attitude. I mention these ladies because it makes for a priceless experience when you find people so passionate and genuine. These ladies deserve to be acknowledged for all they do everyday they have made me and my dad a customer for life we won't shop anywhere else. read more

I love this store! I have a very busy schedule, so I order online and pick up on my way home. This is the perfect service for me. My personal shopper has gotten to know me and when I accidentally leave something off of my list that is normally there, I receive a call to ask if it was missed or that I did not want the item. I can't tell you how many times they have saved me when I have either forgotten to put something on the list or there was the same product different size but better deal. They are always looking out for me. I have shopped at other grocery stores, but no store compares to the quality and service that I always receive at Raley's. read more

This store is Perfect and has Everything I need! The Wells Fargo inside is open 7 days a week. There are 3 additional WF ATM machines inside. They have Self Check Out registers. I have mailed boxes and had them dry clean clothing. Lastly, I just ordered items online. It was pretty easy. There is a Live Chat option that I used since I had additional questions. The cashiers & baggers are always pleasant. You just need to remember to bring your own bags to avoid the bag charges that they just implemented. read more

Employees are friendly, and the store always looks well kept up. My reason for the low rating is over the years I've bought food there that was moldy, tortillas, hummus, and others. They seem to ignore their own 'sell by dates'. Add to that, as is normally my experience at least, when I return stuff (with reciept showing I bought stuff today, or yesterday) they hand over the cash without even a 'Gee, I'm sorry that bread was moldy'. So, I can recommend it but be careful. Oh, and make sure they put ALL your groceries into your bags, because sometimes I get home without all the products shown on my cash register receipt. read more

This store is clean and really doing their part in keeping the corona Virus curve down. Unfortunately the floral manager didn't get the memo that we Americans are being kinder to eachother, looking out for eachother and supporting eachother during this hard time. Late last night just before closing 10ish PM my husband purchased balloons for my daughter's 5th birthday today. Her party had to be cancelled of course but we figured balloons could brighten the day. Unfortunately by 9am this morning they were a sad deflated sight, hanging way below my 5 foot height. My husband brought them back to Raley's thinking they would want to fix the problem and asked what could be done. Sadly the floral manager was dismissive and flippant in her answer that they would not make good on the deflated balloons that did not last the 12 hour guarantee. To me a 12 hour guarantee means the ballons stay inflated fully for 12 hours. At Raley's a 12 hour guarantee means they have 12 hours to go from inflated to the floor. Had the managers approach and attitude been kinder we very likley would have just repurchased the ballons from Raley's. Instead we gave our business to Safeway who were more than happy to help us. During this difficult time Safeway still managed to give great, kind and friendly service. read more
