Even though the prices are a little higher than the standard grocery stores (Safeway, Save Mart, etc) I always thought that the extra customer service was worth the price difference .UNTIL TODAY. Not only was it IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to help me find an item (actually 2 of them), but when it was time to check out, my husband was going through the check out line (I use a walker and was waiting for him on the other side of the line) the checker, who was roughly our age - 30/40ish was so incredibly rude, she grabbed the "line closed" barrier, secured it behind my husband to avert any other unfortunate shoppers from her line with a scowl and a generally appalling attitude. While she rang up my husbands one item (we could only find one of the two items that we were looking for), she literally rolled her eyes, not even pretending to show any type of courtesy or human consideration. After he slid his card for an ATM transaction she immediately snapped back "are you going to hit the green button or what?". Is this is the type of customer service that we paid extra for. I guess it must be... I am still trying to figure out WHY we paid extra for the attitude...that must be what we paid extra for, right? The product could have been purchased for 85 cents less at Safeway. (the one of two items that we could find). Needless to say I am (and my husband) won't be shopping at Raley's again, no matter that they are THE closest store to our home. I will take the opportunity to save some money, save on the bad attitude of the employees, drive (or walk) a little further an have a better experience somewhere else. read more

I usually go to Wal-Mart because of the cost. Raley's is more expensive but the food here is fresher and the customer service is much better. I only shop here when I have a few items to get. Clean store with good customer service. Keep up the good work here Raleys. read more

I went into Raley's last night to get a few things for lunches & went to get turkey slices and the package I picked up said it expired on November 18, 2018! It was expired for almost 2 months! So then I couldn't wait & had to use the bathroom so i went into the bathroom and it smelt like a outhouse at a camp ground. I went into the disabled stall and there was a log of poop on the floor near the back wall! It looked like it had been there for a while! I am so disgusted with the whole store!! read more

I was completely baffled at how terribly I was treated at the deli this morning. The deli employees are absolutely incompetent. I asked for a "Bidwell breakfast burrito" with clear signage at the deli and list of ingredients. The man who made my food was rude, and instead of making my burrito as ordered, slipped together some sausage and egg and threw in a few green flecks of bell pepper. He hands me my unwrapped burrito and hands me a ziplock bag with sauce packets inside. I asked him if it included everything on the ingredients list. He said "yes". After inspection, to my dismay, all I saw was the three ingredients above. I gave the burrito back and left. This is NOT ok. The customer appreciation week at Raleys should include, at minimum, some level of customer service. read more

I have shopped at this Raleys since it opened about 20 years ,so much of a turn over and now most of the clerks are very subdued or tired, something is just not right,I have been shopping at the Bel Air Raleys on E.Bidwell in Broadstone,they are so sweet there, customer service is the best, the customers needs come first...Plus I'm hooked on the water in the Glacier machines,so affordable.Everyone here is so friendly. read more

Wow! I usually come here to get my prescription but I just went grabbed a drink paid for my 2 items and walked out. Got in my car and a man came up to me and said he was security for the store and said they thought I stole! I gave him my receipt and showed him I obviously didn't, I didn't even have a purse or bag or anything on me so I'm not sure how they got the idea that I was a theif.. Then he just realized he was wrong and walked away.. I can understand you're doing your job but you might want to look into it a little more before you go around accusing people of stealing, and then being rude about it. This store is one of the worst Raley's and Bel-Air's in the area. It is run down, I actually though product placement was kinda weird, and I had a horrible experience with one of the cashiers. She was not friendly, she was slow, and they have longer lines than most other stores. Plus, they don't have self checkout. Usually, I am not pro self checkout... But when the employees aren't extra nice and helpful I don't mind a lifeless machine as a checkout! If you can go to Bel-Air down the road... Much nicer store and staff! read more

We have been there before and never experienced something like this. So the lady at the register started off with saying would u like to donate 10 dollars to the Twin Lakes food bank and we said no thank you. Then we show a $5.00 certificate reward and she right away says " You can't use that", in a very loud rude way. So we said why and she said it has to be over $5 and she mentioned again in a rudest voice u should donate to the twin lakes food bank. Then we got some tic tacs and it went to 5.15 so then said "now u owe me 15 cents", in another RUDE voice. So we gave her the 15 cents and went on walking out the store. I forgot her name but. That was the worst experience EVER. She also tried to turn it on us, trying to say we were rude. That was horrible. She was sooo RUDE. Never want to go to her as a register lady again. read more

I have such mixed reviews about this place, especially since they are in such a dead area I feel bad. This grocery store used to be "poppin" now they are over priced, not much variety, and there are usually two checkers working ALWAYS so there's a line even if the store isn't busy. The cashiers are generally nice so that is a plus and there's never bad parking, I would definitely travel the extra mile though for another grocery store:/ read more

Good food, clean store, cordial employees. What more can you ask for? I have been a customer here (and other Raleys) for more than a decade and it's always worked for me. Prices aren't my favorite, which is why I don't really come here anymore but it will always do in a pinch. Used to love to get Chinese food at this particular store for a quick weeknight dinner, but sadly it is gone now. That was probably why I stopped coming here frequently- without the Chinese food luring me in, I could not be bothered to be distracted by the other pricy products beckoning me from the aisles. read more

Great store, always clean and well stocked. I have shopped at this store since 2000 and have had nothing but positive experiences. Friendly employees, I never have a problem ordering a product that they don't have in. Example-last year they advertised a veggie roast for Thanksgiving that looked delicious. I have vegetarian friends and wanted to try it. The manager went out of her way to get make sure my veg roast came in on time for the holiday. Just had a very bad experience at Raleys on the corner of Blue Ravine and Natomas. They had 12 packs of soda on sale. Buy 2 and get 2 free. and it said mix and match. We bought 4 12 packs and upon arriving home found that they did not apply the 2 free ones. I took the receipt back and they said 7up was not part of the program even though it was right beside the other 12 packs. They then suggested I go home again and bring back the 7up anbd pick out another qualifying 12 pack. I am retired from retail and trailing retailers and Raley's should have solved the issue right on the spot. They blamed the manufacturer and said it was their program and their hands were tied. Bottom line, they charged my $6 a 12 pack (much less in other stores) and refused to do a refund on the spot. Also, they rang us some red grapes as a keg of Budweiser (they corrected that one). Their pricing policy is designed to confuse people. They need to take a lesson from Costco and Walmart. Update: Went back in today and met with Tara. She fixed the problem with a refund. This is one of the Raleys and Bel Air that actually has a postal service side to them. I went to the one in Sacramento on Freeport and they got rid of theirs so I decided to try this one since it was around my work place. The person who postmarked all my mail was pretty nice and friendly and apologized about the wait. Also this bel air has free wifi. Overall, this raleys seems much nicer and newer than other ones in the Sacramento area and the staff is as friendly as ever. read more

This is a good Raley's. It is really, really close to my home and usually has late hours so it's incredibly convenient. I am there a few times a week and have NEVER been passed by an employee without them stopping to ask me if I'm ok or if I need help finding anything. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I'm glad they have a rewards program- I definitely like taking advantage of that, obviously. Their produce is always fresh, in fact I always prefer to go here for produce regardless of the convenience of the location I also prefer it opposed to the discount stores that definitely don't have as fresh of produce at least consistently. I only buy high quality meat and sometimes vegetables from Raleys.

I can get my grocery shopping done in half of the time it takes at the other Raleys location in Folsom, and go out of my way to go to this store even though it's not the closest grocery store for me. This location has a break in the middle of the aisles clear across the store, so you don't have to walk all the way down aisles you don't need anything in, making shopping very efficient. The aisles are also organized logically so it's not hard to guess where things are here either--no olives in the TP aisle here! There are almost always helpful store employees scattered throughout the store asking whether there is any help I need locating anything, and they're more than willing to go run in the back to ask if you have a question they don't know the answer to. The produce and meat is usually of very good quality, better than the other local grocery stores I sometimes shop at, and on the rare occasion I've gotten a bad apple, they've been happy to refund or replace the poor quality item. The bakery staff is happy to give out cookie samples to the kids which makes for a much more pleasant shopping experience for the whole family. The cashiers are friendly and polite and all speak English well, and seem well trained. The deli sandwiches they make to order are deli quality and I enjoy getting those too. And the birthday cake we ordered from the bakery was both beautiful and tasty. read more

I don't live near this store and it's way out of my way to shop at, but Kacey in the meat dept. is excellent! She's very helpful, friendly and really knows what she's talking about. The case is always nicely arranged and they always have what I'm looking for. She will special order items as well, that's definitely a huge bonus. read more

I needed 3 deli trays made for an event the same day I called bc I didn't have time to put them together myself. I called the deli and the manager said of course we will have them ready for you in a couple of hours. Amazing! She also told me there was a flower promotion if you bought 2 trays you recieve $19 worth of flowers. Great! They were so helpful and friendly I would go back anytime. This store is hit and miss. For having the basics, two stars. Same ol' organic items, does not matter what time of the year. They get one star for having organic (barely), but when organic Asperagus is in season? Yes it is, but there will be none. No Asperagus for you! Organic apples in fall? Welp, the one, maybe if you are lucky two kinds to choose from in a bag look very unappealing. When it's corn season, will they ever have organic corn?? NOPE, nope and nope. Same exact limited items 365 days a year. Not very natural. They do not have the same selection as the other Raley's on Blue Ravine. I tried to pick up some additional coconut breaded shrimp the day before Thanksgiving which I had originally bought at the other store, and when I asked the Butcher who is the one that does the ordering, he did not even know how to order it (his words). I had to tell him which brand carried it, and he even said that other customers had been asking for it. They often get a product you like, then discontinue it or don't maintain it (very expired stuff on the shelf), like Prezzels, the Everything flavor is amazing. Went to buy another bag and there were 3 bags left; 2 out dated by a month, and one outdated even longer. TWICE I brought the bags up to the front to give to the cashier, letting them know they were outdated. I returned a week or two later, and all 3 expired bags still sat there on the shelf. TWICE. Does anyone there care? It's tiring. Another time, I was standing in line with 10 other people in my line, and about the same number of people in the only other register open. BOTH registers had a problem with the customer using their Something Extra Card. BOTH cashiers repeatedly called the manager to come to the front for help. The baggers were standing around because they had nothing to do since the line was NOT moving. The manager got intercepted on his way to the front by a customer asking where an item was. Instead of delegating this to a bagger, while 20 people stood in line, the manager turned around and walked away. Many people in line shook their heads and mumbled under their breath, and you could see the irritation on the cashiers face. Rightly so. Utter incompetence. The manager had gotten close enough to the registers to be able to see the baggers doing nothing, and the customers growing more irritated. These are only a few examples of the poor customer service that really gets them them 2 stars less. The other Raley's employees at the Blue Ravine location, smile, want to help you, greet you and are pleasant to deal with. This store has had deplorable customer service for years now. There is one cashier in particular who is extremely slow, and inept. And they always seem to put her on the Quick Checkout. Oh, the irony. I even mentioned that to another cashier recently, who laughed and then said they could not understand why the manager does it either. The manager is no more polite than the employees, so it's obvious where the problem is: Leadership. If you try to get coffee from their Peet's counter, not only do they make the drinks wrong (yes, you need to steam milk and put the froth on a cold latte..guess what? They do it at the BR Raley's store...), but the employees act like you are bothering them if you ring the bell to get coffee service--even if you greet them with a smile and say hello. Same schtick in the deli department making sandwiches---I absolutely go to the deli at the other store if I want a sandwich, because I prefer mine without rotten attitude tainting my lunch. Man, I could go on. This review has been a long time coming. They have already closed the pharmacy in this store, and it seems this store is barely staying open. Kinda sad, given how long it's been in this town, and if/when it closes, there will only be discount stores and wanna-be grocery stores in this end of town. But when it's being managed into the ground...what do you expect? Go to the Blue Ravine Raley's if you want good customer service. AND!! They have self checkout for when you need a couple of things quickly. read more

Great selection, a little more than what you'll pay at Safeway. I enjoy shopping at other Raley's and Bel Air's. This particular location has been a real turn off. One female checker provided awful service. As a minority male, I watched standing in line while she smiled and greeted all of the white patrons ahead of me in line. When it was my turn, she refused to look up or say anything. She muttered my total, handed me my receipt after I paid, didn't say thank you after I left. The next time I went to the store, I purposefully went to her line. This time she spotted me before it was my turn. Over the phone line she requested additional checkers for service and asked a checker that was about to open to take me. Needless to say, I won't be going back there. From now on, I'll be going to Safeway, Trader Joe's, or Whole Foods. That type of behavior is unacceptable. read more

They have a problem keeping their shelves stocked adequately. When you asked them about missing items they tell you they'll be done on a certain date, and they never arrived. Younger workers are more friendly and helpful older workers could care less. They think they're doing you a favor by being there as opposed to we are the customer and we are paying their wages. They don't call you when items on a rain check are available. Expensive store with a lot of attitude but not a lot of customer service. read more

The florist. at this location was unfriendly and seems too busy to even asked if I needed any help. When I asked if she can put a ribbon around my plant, she wanted to charge me $2.99 to put a ribbon on a $7.99 plant. What a rip off! I can buy a whole roll of ribbon for less than that! My husband buys me flowers all the time at BelAir and never once did they charge him for a piece of ribbon. The BelAir staff is always nicer and much more helpful. Will never go back to this location again! read more

I can't say enough great things about this store. It's always clean, well managed and staffed with the best employees. The term Courtesy Clerk is alive and well here. The most courtesy of any grocer I've been to in Folsom! The department that really stands out though is the Food Service Department (Deli, Bakery, prepared foods, etc.) The Food Service Manager Kara, and her amazing crew including Mandie and Bobbi just to name a few are always so nice and willing to help with any size order, even if it means working through the night. That's the type of customer service you just don't see much anymore but the type consistently provided here. If you want the best store with that home town feel and customer service from yesteryear this is the store for you. read more

Clean wide aisles, great selection, reasonable prices and a genuinely friendly staff. We've been going to Raley's on Bidwell since it opened 20-25 years ago. It's our store. I'm not a big supermarket fan, but I always volunteer to go with my wife when she goes. They stock pretty much everything you need and have these little orange cheat sheets at the entrance that tell you where everything is. And there fruits and vegetables are always very fresh and tasty. Gotta love this store! read more
