I frequent this Raleys location because of it's safety and cleanliness. I am always shopping here at least 2-3 times a week. However this experience was great. The deli department is always busy but with the team of Jesse & Daniel, they were able to knock out the line quickly. I had ordered 5 sandwiches which Daniel had made and once Jesse was finished with his customer he immediately stepped in to help finish up my sandwich order. That's teamwork! Also my Favorite cashier is always Pat. She's always bubbly, joyful, kind & respectful. My children, mother & I always wait to go into her line because she makes us feel comfortable like "family". Also our bagger of the day was Riley. A tall quiet gentleman who actually packs all my groceries very well. In the 10 years I have been coming to Raleys. He makes sure to pack it well and not to stuff everything, where the bah rips. I always ask for paper bags and he's the only one who has done it well. Even something this simple makes a big difference when taking my groceries from the store into my home with ease. This store always exceeds my expectations. I love it here and will always support this Raleys location. I also wanted to thank the manager at this location he helped resolved and issue I had awhile back with a solicitor who cursed me out for not signing a petition. Checker lori has to be the worst checker I've ever had. Extremely rude, no customer service, SLOW, and could care less that her line was almost 30 minutes long. Don't go in her lane. As for the rest of the workers up front, slow baggers, smashed all my soft foods and the floor manager could care less about the lines also as she eats an icecream bar. read more

Remodeled few months ago, and the new store looks nice! Looks super new, well-stocked, clean inside, great customer service. Lines aren't long. Inside, there's a tricounties bank, POST OFFICE, peets coffee and coin star for your convenience. One stop stop. I do my grocery shopping here ( or Safeway down the street), bc there's a good drycleaners, shell gas station etc in the shopping center too. Raleys isn't known for cheap prices, but it's good when they they have sales. read more

I'm one of Raley's regular customers preferably for the café area. I've been coming around quite often to get a drink that was suggested to me awhile back to my friends and I but no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I've been craving it for some months now ! The sweet employee that suggest it no longer works there I'm guessing since I haven't seen her, she's short with glasses and I believe she's latina or filipino. We went to different stores in hope she transferred but nothing came up. We hope she's doing OK and hope to see her soon because this craving won't go away no matter how much I try and also almost every employee has an attitude when I try and describe the drink so we won't be coming back. read more

My sister and I went today to get some fish. I wanted fried fish for dinner. Phil in the meat/seafood department really helped us. Although they didn't have what I wanted, he did point us in a good direction. He even walked us over to aisle 16 to get the fish fry batter we wanted. I haven't had an experience here where i came home and didnt ended up finding something ALREADY expired. Seriously? I generally check expiration dates, but shouldn't have to worry about checking every item nor fear it is already expired and no tag stating so. I am so beyond upset. This used to be a nice and clean store with happy employees but now when I go in the "fresh service deli" food cases are dirty, the sandwich bar isn't clean and when I go to check out I see a little girl wearing a employees apron with a name tag that says "Nicolette" putting bags away, and walking with I'm assuming her mother around the check stands. I wasn't aware Raleys allows underage children to be working there. On top of that the people working there were more focused on their phones than the customers. It's sad how much this store has gone downhill. read more

I've shopped at Raley's on Natomas Blvd. for years. I understand the pandemic may cause issues with inventory, but the customer service has gone down hill. There doesn't seem to be a time where the line to the cashier isn't halfway down the aisle. And, in the past they would call backup cashiers, guess Raley's is watching there staffing and overhead, rather than caring about their customer service. Absolutely ridiculous to wait in line for 10-15 minutes, or more, just to checkout. read more

Clerk "Jai" made me feel very uncomfortable! I removed my bank card too soon and the machine locked up. He came around the check stand and took my bank card OUT OF MY HAND WITHOUT ASKING AND CARRIED IT BACK AROUND THE CHECK STAND! I told him to give it back. I shop here pretty often but the cashiers are less than friendly. I seldom get a greeting when I walk up to the register. The lines also move really slow for some reason. Thank you to the cashier Liz at North Natomas Raleys! My wife and I were talking with Liz as she rung up our groceries and the customer behind us very rudely told her to "be quite and hurry up!" I couldnt believe it. She only had 4 or 5 things in her cart and could have very easily went through self check out if she was in such a rush. You shouldn't talk to people like that no matter what's going on but especially now we need to appreciate people who are continuing to work and serve the community. So I love Raleys but there is this one cashier by the name of Joanne who is definitely either depressed or she hates her job. She is always very warm and cheerful with customers who are the same race as her, but I've sat and watched her engage with people of color and she has a flat affect and snarky attitude. It's unfortunate that she is a cashier, she should definitely be in the back stocking shelves or cleaning the toilets. read more

I go into this store several times a month. I have left 100% of those times with a negative experience. The only reason this is getting two stars is because the manager was understanding and helpful with one of my complaints. However, overall this store is run like crap. It looks nice but the staff is rude, the wifi at Petes is basically non existent, the list goes on. Save yourself the irritation and just go somewhere else. I've been having groceries delivered from Safeway and that's been far superior. Edit- I bummed up my star rating to three because I appreciate them taking the time to acknowledge my frustration. I'll say every negative experience with Raley's, they at least seem to care. That's a lot more than I can say about other organizations these days. To me that's worth the extra star. read more

I'm actually downgrading my previous review. I went in today to look for some beef for dinner tonight. EVERYTHING (Yes, LITERALLY the entire beef section) I looked at was bad and/or recolored. Good meat should NOT be bright fire engine red or brown. One of the butchers was bringing out freshly recolored meat and putting it on the shelf. He stuck a few discount stickers on packages that only looked fit for a dumpster also. Left without any meat, and am doing chicken from my own fridge tonight instead. I'd give them zero but you have to choose a star rating. We go in looking for cupcakes for a retirement but no one is there to frost the cupcakes, there were cupcakes already out but they were sideways and messed up. So we grab a cake and ask them if they can write on it, they say of course. We tell her what to write and come back later to get it. The attached picture is what we got. We showed the manager and all he said was "oh,I wonder whose working back there?" And that's all he said. He didn't care AT ALL or offer a discount on the bad cake. read more

This is for the experience I had at the deli counter today. I usually buy shredded chicken breast by the pound for my dog. Today, I came in and asked for 1 pound of shredded chicken breast (they usually shred it from the rotisserie chicken they have available daily). A lady was preparing it for me and when she handed it to me I noticed it wasn't even shredded and it was huge chunks. Ok, not a big deal since I can shred it myself. Once I paid for it in the self-checkout area, I noticed a large pink area on the chicken, so I opened the countainer and realized the chicken wasn't cooked all the way and there were tons of uncooked spots on the chicken. NOT ACCEPTABLE! So I take it back to the lady who prepared it for me at the deli counter and asked her to prepare me a new one as the one I was given was uncooked. She starts preparing it again, but I noticed instead of throwing out the entire chicken originally given to me, she was just swapping out certain uncooked pieces... THIS IS A BIG NO NO. THIS IS HOW PEOPLE GET SALMONELLA AND CAN GET REALLY SICK. I told the lady she needs to throw it all out and that I wanted a new one prepared for me that was cooked fully. She didn't seem to understand what I was saying so I said forget it, got a refund and left. Don't get me wrong, errors happen from time to time, but maybe staff need more training on safe handling of food. The lady who gave me the chicken should have inspected what she was giving me in the first place because if I had not seen that, my dog would have gotten really sick. I mentioned this to the lady who provided me a refund at he self-checkout area and she said she would discuss this with staff... I hope she does or whoever the manager is. read more

At one time, Raley's was by far one of the best grocers in California, if not the U.S. Then Tom Raley passed the reigns to his Daughter, Joyce Teel, and her husband, and it has gone downhill ever since. The latest Raley boondoggle is eliminating brand choices, and replacing many items with Raley's-only options. Yeap, that is right, the chain is making a concerted effort to replace certain brands with Raley's brands. Now I don't have a problem with a business trying to increase its profit margin, and many of Raley's branded products are good quality and perfectly fine. But many are not. Reducing my options is not the best way to go for my business Raley's. Also, Tom Raley made a name selling the freshest, best quality local produce. Anyone who would call the produce that Raley's currently sells top quality and local needs a lobotomy. Most of the produce is shipped from over seas. And, much of the stuff on display in the produce aisle is well past its shelf life. I loved Bel Air in Natomas, but constant problems with "fresh" products there caused me to switch and try Raley's itself. Too bad, those problems don't seem to be single store-related. It seems its a company wide issue. The "problem" of which I speak is not only the fact that Raley's is eliminating competition by replacing different products with the Raley's brand, its the fact that the produce people don't seem to keep very good track of how long things have been on the shelf. I have now had to return items each of the last three trips I made to Raley's. All were produce. Some looked fine at purchase, only to be rotten inside when we cut into them. Others looked fine the day of purchase, but after only one day, became noticeably rotten or moldy. That's right, after one day. Bell peppers and apples typically last longer than one day, unless they have been on the shelf forever. I am sorry Raley's, this was the last straw. Too bad, you have been an institution in my family forever, and I really hate to switch. With Safeway my only other close by option, I have no choice but to start driving to Nugget. My mom told me that this Raley's is the busiest of all the Raley's in the land of Raley's. Always friendly service, everything is super spread out and they have my favorite cheese and sometimes you can find a decent price on their alcohol if there is a special on something. Can someone please explain why there is so much produce growing around this area - as in, I can walk outside and drive .5 mile in any direction and see a field of crops - but conventional tomatoes are $4/lb? Also, the self-checkout is deceivingly simple. It lures you in with the promise of expedited departure from the torture that is weekly shopping, and traps you with protocol: "please enter the code again..." "please put your goods on the checkout area..." etc.. Raley's is the prime choice in Natomas if you're shopping for pre-baked goods, wine and flowers. Additionally, they have the second best selection of cheese in the area (second only to Beverages and More). On the other hand, their produce leaves much to be desired. In fact, I can never find fresh basil or dill at this supermarket and often all trays of fresh herbs contain parsley despite the different labels. Cilantro is hit and miss here, although they do sell the processed herbs in a squeeze tube. Gross! Bogel wines are hit and miss as well, but are often on sale when they do appear. Despite its shortcomings, I shop here because the parking lot is bigger than Safeway, the ailse are bigger than Safeway and it is closer than Safeway. One last complaint is that they don't have stalls to return the carts. The baggers are supposed to help you out and then return the cart to the store. But who wants to make even more awkward conversation while loading the groceries? I say even more because at this Raleys, you are bound to be questioned or teased about your purchases. Lots of frozen food: "Ah, I see you like to eat healthy." Beer, wine and cheese: "You're having a party? Can I come." Finally, you have purchased some item that they feel a personal connection to, such as a card: "I bought this card for my daughter. Speaking of which, she just sang in a play and people actually clapped. I mean I was proud but I was surprised how good people thought she was. I started clapping then I noticed other people clapping...." I can only take so much small talk. Thus, I always decline the assistance and then have to find an empty stall to leave my cart. Shop here for the staples and long term groceries. Hit up Safeway for the daily needs of produce. read more

Always a pleasant experience... I am leaving the store with a few bags of groceries. Yes, I did actually pay for my groceries, for those of you like Josh and David O. whom would sarcastically comment otherwise! One of the baggers then decided to throw a small foam airplane in the middle of the store. It was a disaster!! I then yelled out "FAIL!" with complete disregard to my surroundings or consideration to the feelings of the thrower. I come here to grab a sandwich sometimes and I will say that they make some pretty mean sandwiches here. They use fresh rotisserie chicken as the meat, cheese and condiments from their deli and produce sections, and bread from their bakery. They have a nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches, my favorite being the El Dorado which is a chicken, chipotle, and cheese grilled panini. It is nice to grab a few items to go with your lunch here as well (huge selection of chips and drinks because it is a grocery store). You can eat in the Petes which is inside the store, or take the sandwich to go. Either way, you win. Friendly staff and fair prices. No complaints, except the sandwich is saucy. read more

I tried to buy one box of cupcakes and was directed from pillar to post because only some areas in the store had cash registers. If this desire to stick to old processes and make customers run around continues I'm not sure if people are going to keep coming. Not bad for a larger grocery store. The workers all seem happy and are very congenial. The Peets coffee people are really friendly. And the sandwiches are super good too, but the line can get big. My biggest complaint is the produce section. The last couple times I've gone, the veggies and fruit have have been really crappy. Bruised onions, mushy Alvacados, and rotten tomatoes and bell peppers. Come on Raley's, what is this, Walmart? Great grocery store, but buy produce elsewhere. read more

This store's produce selection is awful, and their organic produce section in particular is an absolute joke for a store that tries to portray itself as being more upscale than places like Safeway. Oh, and I love how they put fake "wood" flooring at the organic/health foods section of their store to give you the illusion that the higher prices in that section are justified. Honestly, if I wanted to spend that kind of money on good produce and health food or alternative food items, I would simply just drive to the Sacramento or Davis Co-Ops and splurge there instead of wasting my time at Raley's. (Nothing wrong with a chain supermarket, but that's what Safeway is for - at least you don't get the upscale prices and pretense there.) read more

I usually have the worst luck in your floral department. I wont even go into detail about my horrible experiences... On this occassion.. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren. I needed 3 dozen balloons for a baby shower I was hosting. This young lady was truly a breath of fresh air. She took all of the balloons I purchased from another location. Suggested how I should put the colors together. Recommended the strings and ribbons that would look the best. She recommended bagging the bouquets so they didnt get tangled in the car. She was able to multi task and help other customers AND get me out of the store in a timely manner. I truly love and appreciate great customer service. Huge store. My goodness. I've gotten lost the first few times I was there. VERY friendly staff and I've actually have gotten help from the store manager himself.
