New Raley's on Freeport: Similar layout as old store but more condensed and efficient. Well stocked as of 4/21, plenty of plant-based options, meats, full-bakery, deli and salad bar to come. Non-food aisles had basic (tp, paper towels, laundry soap) popular brands and a few good bargains. Staffed adequately (someone in each Dept.), friendly cashier and clerks. Organized checkout for SD so you don't wait in lines. Best to enter from side street near Mahoroba vs. the Freeport light. Soon to be "regular". read more

This Raley's is way too big for a grocery store, and a bit disorganized. Probably 60 aisles (or more)... if you miss something, you have to walk a ways to get back. Normal grocery stores are 20-30 aisles. Bad architectural design. In terms of disorganization, the Club Soda isn't on the soda aisle, it's on the entire other end of the store near the liquor. Maybe split the supply and have it in both areas? read more

Raley's is one of those grocery stores that has some good sales, but isn't the cheapest overall. Their produce is decent/good, often with local offerings. Beer and booze selection is pretty grocery store good (as opposed to Total Wine good). By that I mean they carry what I want, which may not be what youwant. They have Aunt Sally by Lagunitas, Budweiser, and Old Forester bourbon (best value bourbon). I wish they'd bring back the handles of Old Forester bourbon. Their 6 bottles for cheap deals are good for parties. Yes, that's it. I am having a party. Raley's also has bulk things, tasty bubble water, local yellow nectarines, cheap diet ginger ale, large tubs of baby spinach, Adell's mango habanero sausage, and nice looking chili peppers. That's pretty much what I get there. Not avocados though. Sprouts is way cheaper for that, but Sprouts doesn't have bourbon or 2 liters of diet ginger ale. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. All because of one clerk. Raley's needs to hire people that want to work. We had to wait for this woman to finish flirting with a co-worker and move out of our way to walk into the store. Then upon leaving, there were no clear signs that stated where to leave a hand basket so it would be sanitized. When I attempted to hand it to the same woman employee, while letting her know it needed to be sanitized, she responded very childishly with "Well what do you want ME to do with it?" The 2 stars are for customer service. I had purchased a meat selection earlier in the day, and later found I'd need more. I began calling to see if there was any more left in the counter. I called NONSTOP for 40 minutes, no answer at the meat department. Finally get to speak to someone (not in the meat dept), and was told they were probably cleaning. I told him what I needed, he went and checked... nope, all out. I get that they run out, but inexcusable that no one answers for 40 minutes. Not the type to really write reviews bc really don't have time to today is the day I went in to Raleys on the day of Mother's Day trying to pick out a bouquet of flowers and needing help ran into a worker named either Luna or Lulu can't remember just remember her being blonde and wore a mask she completely ignored me and even when helping me out she wasn't very helpful just kinda brushed me off and kinda negative attitude while asking questions about certain flowers so ultimately didn't end up getting flowers and went somewhere wouldn't buy flowers from her. read more

This is a review of Raleys new facility on Freeport. High prices and LONG lines. I refuse to wait in a line with 15 people in front of me, and not even at peak hours, it might be expected at 4-5pm when people drop in after work. But not at mid morning-early afternoon. I have been so frustrated with the lines that SEVERAL times I have just deserted my cart, with items in it ( not perishables I put those back) and walked out. I don't know why they spent $20 million on this new store if this is how it's going to be. And truth be told, the interior set up of the store is not a whole lot better than the old one, nor is the parking lot. I have shopped the Freeport locations for many many years. But I'm done, guess I'll try the Safeway close by now. read more

Unfortunately, there aren't many other grocery stores nearby so I find myself at Raleys more than I want to and only when I have to. I'm a bargain shopper when I can be so Raleys wouldn't be my go-to store. I can, however, depend on Raleys to have most items I need (for cooking mostly) without having to run some where else for just one item. There's usually plenty of stock on the shelves and occasional good deals. The store is clean but outdated with poor lighting in some areas. This Raleys is big, length wise but lacks depth. No worries on the parking either, lots of it here. On some mornings I'd come in and grab some fresh donuts and misc. baked goodies and for lazy dinners I'd grab fried chicken and sides from the deli. I like the idea of the international aisle which include authentic/traditional spices and some foods. Lots of beer and alcohol choices here too. Btw, the balloons and flowers should be rotated to stay flated or fresh. Most times Ive came for balloon and/or flowers they're dull or damn near touching the floor. Also a bit pricey for the smaller foil balloons ($1.99-$2.99) when you can just go to the neighboring discount store and get 'em for a $1. Like I said I'm a bargain shopper. :D Anyhow, if you're enrolled in the rewards program for Raleys, you can load coupons directly onto your card. So when you check out make sure to enter or scan your card and the coupon will be applied. Also every year you'll get a choice of either a coupon for a certain amount off a birthday cake or free cupcakes (or something like that). read more

I only live around the corner from this store. It's ok. Customer Service SUCKS! There are too many personal conversations between the cashiers that they take forever to ring up my items. When I go here with my husband, we avoid the lines, pray we only need 15-20 items or less so we can do self check. Raley's advertises that they have great quality meats, but it's not really great. They also say that about their produce, but it's only average. My only favorite thing here is the dutch crunch french bread. read more

Upon selecting the delivery feature, my order was sent to Freeport - a store further away. Upon delivery only 2 items of my $52.12 order were in the bags and the driver ran away! The store was most unhelpful about my stolen order. They finally relented to "fill my order again". I said I never got my first full order. Horrible service and I will never use any Belaire or Raleys eCart ever again! Somebody stole my filet mignon steaks and the store doesn't care! read more

No required masks, no disinfected carts, and the staff seemed to be inconvenienced and rude if I asked them a question. The Land Park-area Raley's is my go-to store for grocery items. This location has been in place for 57 years, so it has a good rapport with the community and many regulars consider Raley's as a great neighbor. They always have high-quality items at decent prices. Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful when needed. I really enjoy their deli, where I purchase freshly cut lunch meat and cheese vs. the pre-packaged stuff. This location has been cobbled together over the years and is made of three separate buildings, so it is pretty wide. You'll find all your household paper towels, laundry detergent, greeting cards, and magazines on one end and the deli and bakery on the opposite side. This Raley's is the busiest of all their locations, so there are times when there are longer lines, but they do offer both self-service and full-service check out. Stay tuned for a brand new Raley's in 2018 at the former Capital Nursery site one block away that will replace this location. The new Raley's will also be joined by a variety of restaurants and other businesses. read more

This is one of my favorite stores! I shopped with my mother at the old location when I was a little girl and continued shopping there and now here as an adult. This location is clean and the staff is always friendly. I'm always finding new things to buy on my visits. The plant section is also pretty cool! One of the the things that I absolutely love is the nod to capital nursery that use to be located in this lot; it was the first thing I noticed upon entering on the grand opening last year. keep up the great work! read more

10 stars for Josh's outstanding above and beyond customer service and follow up. I was searching for Odwalla, he was stocking dairy section, I had asked 2 employees previously and they blew me off. So I kept searching, saw Josh, he left what he was doing guided me to the area it typically is and it was gone. I said "No big deal I will get something else" He said he was going to find out what's up. I proceeded to check out. A few minutes later he came and found me across the store to let me know the status of the product according to the store manager and research they did. He could have blown me off like the two girls chatting on the floor but he went above and beyond. Excellent customer service like this needs to be called out. I've been shopping at the Freeport location for over 15 years, and the new location is nice, more eco friendly, and has a nice modern feel. However they advertise with a bait and switch concept which I never saw at the old location across the street. I purchased 2 bags of salad that were apart of the "buy more save more mix match" and when I arrived to the front, I let the cashier know and she told me that I was wrong. I told her that they're the same brand and next to each other. She got an attitude when I told her why is it advertised like this, and she said "you're making a bigger deal about it than what it is". Sorry but what's that supposed to mean when YOUR store has it advertised like that!? Honestly I paid more than I wanted considering I drove there passing Safeway. But honestly being treated like that and having that small argument with her even after showing her the photos below, I was over it. To me and many others that's a bait and switch. Raley's Bakery did a fantastic job on our little league end-of-the-season baseball half sheet cake. Orders require at least 24 hours. They have the licensed major league baseball logos (e,g., RED SOX) available. It costs a little more for the professional sports team logo. I appreciate how the staff made suggestions and asked if I wanted to add the red border and any writing on the cake. There were no additional charges for that like at some bakeries. Also, there are lots of choices for the type of cake-marble, chocolate, etc., and types of filling. Again, there no additional charges. And with the cake sale the day I ordered, it was a greater deal! The order was ready as promised. The cake held up perfectly outside at the pool party. It was fresh, moist and delicious. Beautiful! Nice neighborhood grocery store with sweet workers (mostly in high school) willing to help take and load groceries into your car! Although Raley's isn't as cheap as Wal-Mart, Foods Co, WinCo., etc. they always have FRESH fruits, vegetables, and bakery items in stock! Even better, they created $5 Monday sales where selected groceries/junk foods/etc. go on sale! There's also a pharmacy at this location so patrons are able kill two birds with one stone. Like most Raley's, they also offer hot/cold foods including fried chicken, Chinese food (i.e. chow mein, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, fried chicken, broccoli beef, egg rolls, potstickers), potato salads, deli meats and dressings, freshly baked cakes/cookies/donuts, fresh flowers, an entire area dedicated to various home grown nuts, artisan coffee beans, spices, etc., and, best of all, there's a Peet's coffee stand inside! If you're in a hurry this location has a self-checkout area as well so patrons can get in and out in less than five minutes!! There's also a lot of parking available and it's open LATE!! (Until 11PM most nights!) Raley's also offers a "Something Extra" rewards card (It's FREE) giving customers extra savings on items they commonly purchase. This is the closest and least janky grocery store in my mother's neighborhood. Prices aren't too bad and their products are usually very fresh. I especially enjoy the deli, Chinese and Japanese food area. They made me very happy when they started offering healthier alternatives and sushi; however, I wish they were open twenty four hours and that they would have what I am looking for. Many times I've come here around 10pm and they are out of shelves of the products. I've noticed that they also tend to be short staffed, but I don't end up waiting an unreasonably long time to get out of there and I'm always able to park relatively close. My mother loves that they are a grocery store that will still carry the groceries out for you. But they seem to forget how to pack groceries. Even if you hand them the items in order they manage to mix it up a bit. We've had more than one experience where we've found our raw meats have spoiled because they put them in the bags with items that don't need to be refrigerated. When this happens they are quick to fix the problem for you. read more

I tried going shopping here. I could not find anything! Then, while ordering at the drink counter, I noticed how it seems - very cold, and unwelcoming. Finally, and this is why I wont be back, the parking lot is so small, that I feel its a danger to drive in it as it is. I will go out if my way to have the space in a parking lot. I go here because of the location and it's conveniently close to my house. Prices no, customer service definitely no, and their layout is pretty bad. My most recent trip here though was to pick up a box of wine and I had just gotten off work and had my service dog with me, a small Chihuahua / Jack Russell mix. Unfortunately I didn't have the service license with me but I had never been asked for it at raleys and the staff generally enjoyed seeing my pet as I carried him. However on this trip I was confronted at the door by this woman who was possibly a manager at the self check-out line. She told me in a rude manner, "pets aren't allowed in our store, you'll have to leave." I said, he's been in here before without an issue as he's an emotional service animal. I'm sorry I don't have his license with me at this time. She replied "Nope, we can get fined it doesn't matter." So I chose to leave and probably won't return. Was it worth it Raleys? This isn't the first time I've been treated by someone acting like a shot working at your store. Some of your baggers like to make comments on items you purchase, even if they are rude. Same with your checkers. Seems like most of your store needs an attitude adjustment. And if I do come back with my dog, there won't be a damn thing you can do about it. :) read more

They have a wonderful deli they make sandwiches they have rotisserie chickens they have a beautiful vegetable and fruit section a lot of pre-made items wonderful cookies just a delightful store it may seem that the lines are long but they're not they at least always have five checkers so you're in and out pretty quick very clean store nice staff and great selection I highly recommend plus the parking is easy read more

I like some of the selection here, but the experience I had was a little awkward with the cashier. The person before me had her stuff bagged from one of the employees. My turn comes and the bagger just walks off. After that, I thought the guy was gonna come back and bag my stuff up, but the cashier gave me a cold look like as if he wanted me to do the job. I decided to help out, but eventually at the end he bagged up the rest of it and I believe he said in a demanding tone that I help out with grabbing the rest bags. The food I got so far was good, but the employees don't seem happy and don't seem very polite or helpful. Raleys is sully a great grocery store chain with high quality food and good customer service. You'd think that the fact that the corporate head of Raleys sits about a mile away would ensure this particular store was top notch. Sadly this isn't the case. The store is short on shopping carts due to theft (a frequent complaint on Nextdoor), and about 75% of the patrons are pretty frightening people. I was in law enforcement for more than a decade and I assure you that the rap sheet game is strong with most of these folks- many of whom are hauling piles of dirty luggage throughout the store or talking loudly to themselves and appear to be under the influence of drugs. There's a security guard who has a vest labeled "off duty police" (even as a former cop I'm not sure quite what they're going for there). Regardless, he didn't seem to have the authority or corporate backing to deal with these problems. Several women wearing spandex body suits (who obviously ply their trade up and down the boulevard and local motels) cut in front of my 4 year old, my 1 year old and myself both at the bakery and the self check out. It took us 10 min to pay for a cake waiting behind them while they had friends continue walking items up to the register while we waited and they kept choosing the wrong benefits cards for the wrong county. The bakery was out of the style of cake advertised on the website but we found another one that would do easily with the help of a staff member who was very nice. They appeared to be short handed and the day of my daughter's birthday party I got a call saying the cake decorator had called out and they didn't have enough help to do the cake on time and were out of several ingredients we had selected a week before when we wrote up the order with their help. Luckily the cake was done not too long after the pick up time and still delicious and beautifully decorated how ever it was missing a special order item (sprinkles) that we had to pay more for. I felt we should have been offered some compensation for the late cake, the fact that no one made sure the proper supplies were in stock, and that the quality control didn't catch the issue of the sprinkles my daughter really wanted. At the party a couple other moms reported the same experience at this Raleys with party platters and cakes. Seems like a management issue. I do feel for the employees as dealing with people out of their minds on drugs daily has got to make it hard to come to work. Regardless, this Raleys feels extremely unsafe and I was downright worried about my kid's safety and health by the time we left. Even as someone who knows I could defend myself and them, I know a dangerous situation when I see one and I was really concerned we were going to get robbed in the parking lot while I buckled my kids in. There were also homeless people using drugs and loitering around the exits to the store which felt intimidating. I would highly suggest the corporate office back management to call the police and serve people causing issues (like openly using drugs 10' from the store's front door) with notices of trespass to ban them from the property. Finally, I'll note that some of this isn't on the management there as much as it is the voters fault in passing propositions that raised the dollar amount for a felony over $950 (or more than a shopping cart is worth) and essentially decriminalized shoplifting at a business (459.5 PC) and eliminated petty theft with priors (666 PC). Regardless, this was a really disappointing experience to say the least and I will not be back. read more

Came in to the Freeport location very quickly grab some things to make mother's day special before my wife wakes up. Selected some flowers, nice cards, balloons, etc., only to find just one single register open. Huge line. Had no choice but to use self checkout because I was in a hurry. I hate self checkout. If I hadn't had to use self checkout I wouldn't have left my balloons that I paid for behind, and I wouldn't have had my flower pots spill muddy soil all over my brand new mother's day cards because checkers are there to help prevent those things from happening. Cards are ruined, and my daughters (ages 2 and 4) are all upset because it is super important to them to give mommy a balloon. I know these things are ultimately my fault but when I'm in a hurry these things are typical for me which why I HATE self checkout! There should always be enough registers open. read more

I would give this Raley's branch a zero if I could. It does not enforce the mask mandate. I notified a manager this morning at approximately 930am that a customer was not wearing a mask, and the manager said she could give the person a mask but not make them wear it. I will not shop at a store that does not enforce the mask mandate. The Nugget down in he Pocket area does enforce the mask mandate. read more

This is the worst Raley's! Even though they have WIC stickers to guide you through to get items but, some stickers placed next to it aren't correct. I always follow by the shopping guide list. As listed in the shopping guide, Quaker oatmeal squares cereal brown sugar and also in cinnamon flavor are listed in the shopping guide booklet. Raley's have the stickers "WIC" next to each one of them. When the cashier ring it up became non wic item. I tried to explain to her that I try to follow the guidelines and the sticker was next to it also. She kept correcting me that is showing non wic item. Obviously someone who is in charge of inventory didn't put it in the system. Doesn't make any sense to have the sticker next to the UPC code but in the system is found as "Non Wic" I will post a picture of the guideline shopping list that it is a WIC item. So they went to grab me another brown sugar. Next baby food. Two issues. First, Gerber 2 pk 4 oz "All Natural" Mango. Came up as non wic item! I'm like WTF at that point I'm getting frustrated. Maybe cause it's new so they didn't have it in the system? Again she corrected me and said some baby food doesn't allow it? I'm saying it's all natural, one fruit, 2pk 4 oz each! Same as the apple banana or mixed berries. No added sugar, artificial flavor, etc. As stated in the shopping guide! She said she know how it is cause she used to shop WIC for her mom. Well, I don't know how long ago was that but, WIC shopping guide always change and when the store carries new baby food item sometime they have to input it in the system or else it will come up as non wic item. What the point of carrying it if it doesn't come up as wic item? Okay next one is Tippy Toes! Dammit they have all fruits! No veggies. Again referring to the guidelines, baby infant fruit 2.5-4 oz single or 2 pk one, two or more flavor is acceptable. No added sugar, no artificial flavor. Again it ring up as non wic item. Now I'm getting pissed off and try to stay calm. It took me a long time to pick out the stuff cause I'm reading off the guidelines what I can and cannot buy. Tippy toe is 2pk 4 oz the flavor was apple berry as 2 flavors I also picked out apple just 1 flavor. No added stuff. Reading the ingredients just water and fruit(s) I never have a problem shopping at any Raley's with the baby food and it's not my first time either. If one Raley's store accepts baby food item and another Raley's store doesn't then someone is fucking up with this WIC guidelines and rules. As I can see this Freeport location is fucking up real bad. As I mentioned to the clerk that is not my first time and another Raley's store accept these baby food. I will show another picture. Raley's is a grocery store that prides itself on quality and selection and has both covered well. It isn't the most affordable, but it's still better than Whole Foods and some of the more high end specialty stores. This location isn't the best example of the Raley's brand but it still has a lot to offer. I've come here numerous times for numerous reasons: a full-on stock-up on groceries, grabbing odds and ends and, on my latest visit, buying twelve twenty pound bags of ice for a party. They have a better than average deli and I've always enjoyed their beer selection, which features beers I haven't been able to find at other grocers, including the prestigious Corti Brothers in East Sacramento. The employees are usually friendly and the clientele is an eclectic mix ranging from young gangbangers to old ladies from Land Park who are holding on to the time when you'd dress up to go out, even if it was to the store. If I could think of one improvement it would be more consistent staffing at peak hours. I've come in to multiple registers open with an almost empty store versus two lines open when the place was at its busiest. read more
