I wish I knew his name but one of the workers was very helpful trying to help us find the playing cards in the store and they couldn't find them so we left. I had stopped shopping at this Ralph's after a few issues with the staff. Some inattentive others just rude. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give it another try. I was having trouble at the self check out and a young lady by the name of, Jackie saw me struggling and came to help. She was an absolute gem. She walked me through the process and answered throughly all of my questions. I've since returned a few more times and have had very pleasant experiences. I like to purchase fruit and veggies that don't look like it was dug out of the dumpster. This Ralphs is located in an affluent area. You would think the produce would look much better than it does. They really need to clean staff of management and employees cause customer service sucks here. This location offers good , polite help, a clean store and a vast variety of merchandise. The wine selection is on point along with the meat department. There are guide lines for store to follow. This store started off good but it appears they became lazy. The lines to pay for your groceries are very long witch makes you stay in line for 20-30 minutes. This is one of few grocery stores in the area. I was pleasantly surprised at their craft beer selection. They have a nice assortment of bombers including but not limited to Stone, Strand, Firestone, and Lagunitas IPAs. Its good to see the community expanding culturally outside of hard liquor and spirits. No Dogfish or Russian River yet but we'll get there. Outside of adult beverages, I really like this new organic push by Ralph's with their Simple Truth foods. Their granola and salad mixes are really good with fair prices. read more

I too am shocked at some of the negative reviews on this store. I think some people just like to blow off steam. For starters, while the traffic can be a bit of a pain to get into this shopping center, once in, the Ralph's parking area is enormous. So there's never a problem parking here. This Ralphs is one of the largest and best kept supermarkets in town. It's just gone through major remodeling in all depts and it's kept clean and organized as can be. I rarely go to the Deli so I can't speak for its service, but it does look immaculate every time I go by it. I do frequent the meat and seafood counters and they are always busy, with multiple employees always cheerfully serving up very happy customers and there's always an awesome looking selection of fresh seafood that makes my mouth water. But my favorite aspect of this store is not its awesome selection and cleanliness. It's the night Manager (or one of them) who's name I believe is Laree. I met Larre because one night I tried to use some manufacturer coupons for Frank's Red Hot Wings Sauce. The coupons were awesome and basically gave us the hot sauce for free, good for up to 4 bottles. There was a computer glitch that didn't process the coupons properly and the checker wasn't sure how to proceed. Luckily Laree was on duty and she came over and worked her magic with complete politeness, professionalism, and no hassles whatsoever. On another occasion I came at night to exchange several bottles of Pepsi that I realized I was charged full price on instead of the sales price. Again Larre to the rescue with a quick, cheerful, hassle free correction. So at this point I try my best to do all my grocery shopping at this Ralphs, at night. I love to shop at Ralphs in general Have been going to this store for my whole entire life. Today I walked into the store and I needed help on the self-service checkout and an employee named Phyllis was apparently on her break but was in the lobby. When I approached her, she mentioned, " honey I'm on break I can't help!!! you call that guy!!!! Wow!!!!. I know by law in California that you do need a break which is perfectly fine but there is plenty of ways for you to act on that experience. Just to let you know Phyllis, perception is a key. customer does not know that you were on break. So your rudeness and your attitude was not necessary. I believe you need to go to training on how to deliver great customer experience or better yet don't work in a retail store where customers or customer service is a number one priority. So Phyllis take a look into that and if you're having a bad day it's okay but don't put it in your customers. read more

BUSINESS: GROCERY CHAIN FARE: PRODUCE So i'm going to Ralphs at the Ladera center. This Ralphs is different because its the only full service grocery store with a 2 mile radius in a heavily laden apartment community. With this in mind, a lot of people actually dress up to shop. It will be late and people look like they're going to a club using their dam EBT card. Me, im usually in sweats, t-shirt, and some old dunks. So I'm walking in and these girls who work there are looking in my direction. I'm thinking why? well, i was right... "Oooh, girl, there he go...were Richard , he s'posed to be doing security, Where he be?!....oh, Welcome to Ralphs." Thanks...I guess. I walk in and I'm hungry, so i figure, go to the deli for freshness right? I'm not going to lie, when Ralphs makes the hot wings fresh, they are very good. Actually, they are just Tyson Wings baked. But they are much better than the fried variety. What i saw look like they took the remains of the Pet Cemetery movie and nuked it, then threw the leftovers into an Aluminum cannister and said "Bon Apetit" The chicken offerings were all sitting in a pool of oil gel, that had turned a yellow discoloraion. "Um, when were the chicken wings made?" An older lady with a hari net tha looked like it doubled as her shower cap turned around. "I don't know baby, saw bout' earl this mornin". They still fresh, just like everything else here. How men pounds you want?" "Uh, i just want a sample?" as i glanced at my watch displaying a 12.30pm time. "Baby, now dont' tell me u ain't neva tasted the hot wings before? hold on, i got a paying cusma ova here, i be with ya in a minute..." I then gandered over the offerings one more time, and realized what the hell am i doin?The food wasn't getting any fresher and by the time grandma Ethel finish with the customers, i would have starved. As I walked out, Richard the security guard had come in...carrying two slabs of ribs. "See girl, I told you, i thought he was taking magazines but they looked to bulky girl,....and dem ribs ain't even on sale, girl, that's full price... By far the worst Ralph's I've ever been to. I've tried a lot of hot meals at Ralph's in the past in which I enjoy. But today I got the worst of them all. They didn't give me my exact change because they didn't have any so they kept 36 cents. Their potato salad first of all smelled and tasted disgusting. Saturday morning grocery shopping used to be the time to hit up Ralphs at La Dera Center to beat the crowds. Not true any longer. I arrived at 9:30 with my list and coupons in hand for my weekly shopping. It took me about half an hour to get what I needed and went to get in line. The four self-check lines were open (I'm not ok using them with my coupons, etc), two 15 items or less lines were open, and ONE regular register was open. There were 8 carts full to the brim with groceries in each of them. I had just seen the store manager in the produce dept and went to go find him to let him know how long the one line was for full sized orders. He called up a couple cashiers and had one extra line opened. Great right? Yes, it was ok that he opened another line but why should I have to tell him. It is Saturday morning for crying out loud! Super busy! Lots of full carts! Come on, it's not a news flash that this is a busy store. Schedule more cashiers! You know you're busy. At 10:18 I finally made it to the front of Stella's line. She opened a third register and pulled me to her line first. She was wonderful. Fast. Courteous. Efficient. Helpful. Understanding. You need more cashiers like Stella. I'm pretty sure she came back from her lunch or break early to help me out. It sure shouldn't take as long to shop for 56 items as it does to stand on line and get rung up. Wish I could rate zero stars. Made ceviche two times in a row. Day one: shopped at the Ralph's on Sepulveda in Westchester. Came out delicious! Day two: went to the Ralph's on La Cienega/ Ladera Center since it was on the way back from work. I do not like going there because there is always so much traffic to get out but I thought it would still save me more time. OMG. I could not find a single fresh red onion! They were all moldy and looked like they had all gone bad. None of the avocados were ripe. But most importantly, they're shrimp was gross! Not fresh at all! I took one taste of my finished ceviche we were so excited to eat and it was disgusting. I made sure to drink a beer after just to wash it down so that I wouldn't get food poisoning. Not to mention the customer service in the seafood area was horrible. It looked like those two dudes did not want to be working there. Maybe because they know the stuff they're serving is not fresh. This Ralphs store, although stocked nicely and has friendly floor staff, seems to suffer from very poor management. The lines are always long... No matter how many people are in the store there's always 7 to 10 people in line. they only open maybe half of the registers ever. This is something that will have to change to improve their rating. I placed a pick up order for toilet paper since it was out everyplace else. I came to pick it up and there was no signage indicating where to go. I finally went in the store and was told they cancelled all orders and sent an email to everyone. They expressed shock that I didn't receive an email - like I'd real come out of the house sick in the damp air all the way from Playa Del Rey for an item I knew they took my money for but didn't gave. The manager on duty made a lot of excuses about being new and said I'd have to call customer service who would take 48 hrs to issue a refund - but they're closed on the weekends! Told me to wait 10 minutes even though all lines were full with shoppers with excessive baskets ! This store you're never greeted by employees. Today I was searching for an item and since the remodeling I've been twisted around. I must've passed the manager 3 times. On my last time passing him I looked at his name badge and I saw it said Rick or Rickie...any rate, he never acknowledged me, he never once asked could he help me. This was around 10ish this morning and hardly no one was in the store so he can't blame it on being busy.
