What has happened to the good employees???!!!! I have been going to this Ralph's for over 10 years. The employees I have always delt with have been nothing but wonderful. Today, I encountered the rudest register clerk . At the register,I placed the item i had in question in the very front of my groceries so I could ask her to check if the product was on sale (was I wrong to ask that? ). I wanted to be sure this product was on sale before I purchased since I am watching my budget. She ignores me and continues to ring up the rest of my groceries. I repeated my question (now she was halfway through scanning the rest of my groceries). She lifts both her hands in the air yelling "WHAT?". I was taken aback and shocked! I have been always been used to professionalism and friendliness in this store.. what happened??? Did I provoked such discourtesy by asking her to check if a product was on sale? This one employee made my blood boil to the point I walked out saying to myself I would never shop at this location ever again. If she is so unhappy working at Ralph's to the point she acts so unprofessionally to customers who are complete strangers, work somewhere else!!!!! So disappointed.. read more

Cleaner and fresher looking than some of the other groceries. I like their set up more than some other groceries but, I have to say they are definitely more expensive than the other stores. In the end when I get the same fruits and veggies just in a less desirable presentation I'm not sure if that's worth the extra money to have a snazzy presentation of the same product. read more

After waiting at the meat counter for about 2 minutes looking at two employees only talking amongst themselves, I piped in and said "hi" so they would acknowledge me, and one of the employees looked at me and said were closed. I have avoided this place for the past year until my finances forced me back. FREAK SHOW. There is a strange hispanic guy that always talks to himself and says random weird stuff. At one time there was a black girl with a Mohawk that was weird as hell. It just seems like this place tends to hire rejects. But the prices for groceries are the best in town. OH!!! and this middle aged Caucasian woman that works in the deli cannot seal a Ziploc bag to save her life. It is freakin comedic. Feeling home sick I decided to make a meal that I used to make when I lived in Philly I couldn't find a whole cut up chicken and a gentleman by the name of Mark was able to since he found a butcher that was able to cut up the meat for me Danny took my chicken in the back and cut it up for me. Usually I avoid Ralphs because they tend to emit a dingy, gross vibe (usually because they are dingy and gross). Today I was on a quest for tea and waltzed in here and was reaaalllly surprised at how nice it was. I grabbed my boxes of soon-to-be beverages and went on my merry way. Nothing overly special about this particular Ralphs, but I do like to come here sometimes just to mix things up when I get bored with Vons. My biggest complaint is that they need to open up more check out lanes with actual, physical PEOPLE at them. I hate self check out. read more

Like all other grocery stores I am on the fence about their review. They have everything a grocery store has. The new remodel added a ritzy look to the store with lots of overpriced fancy kitchen stuff. The produce is always good looking but not the cheapest in the area. Seafood is hit and miss. First time to this particular Ralphs. The beauty about the store is that it is very similar to other Ralphs. So you could find just about everything you want to get. We spend July in San Diego and between this Ralph's location and Costco (for a few huge size food items) we are set. Love the wide aisles, cleanliness and selection. Use our Kroger card for big savings. The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. Even vendors working in the store will help you locate an item or the right person to help. I think the bakery is fantastic and the prices competitive. Easy to get to and love the location in case I need to stop at Target or Home Depot next door. Best in the SD area. I like this Ralphs. I really do. Far cry from the Ralphs downrown which presents all kind of issuues. parking/homeless people/ cleanliness/etrc.etc. First thing that stands out is how clean the store is. (far cry from the Vons about a quarter mile away). Also what sets this Ralphs away from their competitors is how easy the self checkout is. Nice clean store in Pt. Five stars purely for the lady working the bakery. I think her name was Serena. Other then that, it does have a creepy feel to it but there is a lot to choose from. Deli department has always reached high expectations of quality items quality service with a smile. Timely and professional associates behind the counter. As for the self checkout service assistance we checked out with a sushi plate that was miss priced as higher and the service rep assisted by voiding and offering free item due to the inconvenience. Surprising but awesome and thankful. There is a reason to shop at Ralph's compared to other competitors in the area. Keep up the great work Ralph's. read more

I don't shop there often but I love this place. I forgot my rewards cards a few times and they still approved it. The signs on an add we're confusing and they still honored the sale price even though I really didn't deserve it. There's always plenty of cashiers there. Keep it up Ralph's!!!! read more

Just tossed out a near full 1/2 gallon of Southern Style Potato Salad because the Potatoes were hard and not fully cooked. In the store many items were not prices and sales associates were not able easily to get prices for several items. Fresh meat selection is poor and pricey. Ground beef selection was particularly lame. Two brands of premade burger patties were not priced. The store is huge, but selection focused more on accessories, prepared and convenience and impulse items rather than the quality choices of foundation ingredients. This Ralph's Grocery Store on Sports Arena is the best! Me and my husband have been shopping at this Ralph's for 5 years and it's fantastic! We recently moved to Tierra Santa and will continue to do our grocery shopping at this Ralph's Store. Their customer service has always been outstanding and awesome especially with Richard, Celso, Charles in the Deli Department, Cashiers: Araceli, Dean G*, and Kristy, their Night Manager Kevin, their Store Managers Jack and Joe. The meat section is pretty poor. The inside feels somewhat more modern than other ralphs. The produce section was a bit small. I did self check out and the machine got tripped up by an onion which forced me to wait for an employee to come help. The attendant was slow, had a bad attitude and, not very helpful or friendly. Maybe I just got a bad seed out of the bunch but I would say look for a different ralphs to shop at. read more

The remodel is nice, but I observed a homeless man opening a bottle of booze in the booze aisle and putting it in one of his crumpled shopping bags. When he left the store, the alarm went off. I alerted the nearest employee who happened to be a produce clerk. He said, "Oh once they leave the store it is our policy not to go after them." OK so purpose of door alarm is? Perhaps explains the high prices as we all have to pay for stolen booze. And similar to many Ralphs' locations, you can stand at the deli for a good long time while 3 clerks work at the tables behind the counter and ignore you. I have recently started shopping here after I had shopped at the vons down the street for years. I can't even tell you how much better the customer service and the quality of food is at Ralph compared to vons. Yes, the cost might be slightly higher at Ralph,, but I would definitely pay more for the better quality you get. The meat is amazingly fresh and you get more choices at Ralph. The people are ALWAYS friendly and there to assist you if needed. Even my 8 year old son said as we were leaving "Wow mommy, they are so nice here" I will never go back to Vons. My husband and I shop here almost every weekend. The employees are usually very friendly and we can find almost all of the items on our shopping list. The gripe we have is with the grocery baggers, or maybe it is with the management that doesn't train them properly. We can't understand why anyone would put the fruit (bananas, peaches, etc.) in the bottom of the bag and the cans or heavy stuff on top. Every shopping trip we have to rearrange all the bags once we get out to the car to ensure that items aren't crushed. Please train your baggers or we will try another grocery store. read more
