Kroger brand is always the best bargain because it's the parent company of Ralphs. With everything in my digital shopping cart, I checkout and order pickup for free the next day. An employee at this Ralphs finds everything for me and bags it up. They bring it to designated parking spots on the lower level. I very much appreciate this personal shopping service. In the app, make sure to select this Ralphs location for the greatest selection, as it is one of the best in Sherman Oaks. Your shopping Items are kept in a special refrigerated section, so it stays fresh until you arrive to pickup (according to the employee who brought me my groceries last time). If you do end up going inside this Ralphs to shop for yourself, it's one of the nicest ones I've been to in the Valley. Thank you to all employees who make this Ralphs excellent.

But don't worry, I could go pick them up at some random time tomorrow (I work an office job, that doesn't work for me) so instead of guessing when I might get groceries, I contacted customer service to help me cancel. Well only the store can cancel the order, so I got to waste 45 minutes with them only to have to go in and deal with this myself. Why have a customer service line if they literally can't do anything?

I was warned service would be slow, but it was snail pace. 30 mins later we left the market with 2 sandwiches (add avocado) with a side of fruit each. $15 a sandwich was a bit steep. Looking for forks was a feast in its own. They were at the salad bar. Luckily an employee pointed me in the right direction. I really do miss the almond flan. If they still had that option, I might have been more forgiving that one 1 person was working the deli counter.

Parking is super easy and convenient. You just drive up the ramp, go through the gate (it opens automatically), and there's no ticket needed. You even get one hour free, which is a huge plus. There's plenty of parking both underground and at street level in the Citrus Commons complex. I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's in general and shop here every week. What makes this store special is the selection -- you can find so many unique products that you won't see in other grocery chains, including a lot of European-style foods. Some of our favorites are eggplant spread, sauerkraut, frozen sweet cheese pancakes (blinchiki), pork dumplings, and many other great items. Prices are reasonable (around average), especially considering the quality and uniqueness of the products. The staff here is incredibly friendly -- honestly, one of the nicest teams I've seen in any grocery store. The atmosphere is always welcoming, clean, and easy to navigate. Another great bonus: there are actually two Trader Joe's stores right across the street from each other on Riverside Drive. This newer location is bigger, brighter, and has even more variety. And if one store is out of something, you can simply check the other -- so convenient! Highly recommend this location -- we're lucky to have it here in Sherman Oaks!

I picked up a few items tonight, and one item missed the mark. * The Bad -- Hard Rice: The pickled pear baked salmon onigiri had a tough, dry texture. * Food : The package label showed the rice ball was already three days old. * High Price: It cost nearly $7 for stale food that I could not finish. Their prices are high. Head to the Valley's Japanese grocery store like Mitsuwa in Northridge for sushi or a Korean grocery store like Greenland Market in Van Nuys for prepared food made the same day at lower prices. The Good: * The spam musubi was made the same day and tasted fresh. * The butter mochi was delicious. Final Thoughts: I expected fresh food made that morning. Selling three-day-old rice balls at this price is unacceptable. I will not return because they sell items past their prime. I would not buy their sushi based on my experience as it might be old as well.

Mom waits in line at customer service, but they are too busy to actually help her. Finally, they took a moment and addressed her. She showed them the loaf, they told her to go exchange it. They didn't refund the cost of the bread or offer a store credit or anything for the inconvenience of driving all the way back to the store. At the bakery, Mom chose a replacement loaf and asked a bakery employee to open it and check to make sure it didn't have a hole. They looked at one slice. She asked them to check the entire loaf since the bad loaf also had a few good slices and they gave her attitude. This is Pavilions' problem. You sold a bad loaf of bread. It was not deliberate. But it is your problem to resolve. So make some attempt at customer service to encourage us to come back to your store. Driving all the way back to the store and waiting in line at customer service and simply getting what we paid for the first time is not resolution. Make an effort. Do better.

After about seven minutes, I asked how much longer it would take and was told they had run out downstairs and someone had to go upstairs to storage. I ended up waiting around 10 minutes total. While I was waiting, another customer approached and one employee abruptly told me, "Can you move? I need to take care of the customer." I moved immediately. When the carriers finally arrived, the employee handed/tossed them toward me and did not offer any help opening one or placing the three drinks inside. I calmly said that it would be helpful for the department to keep carriers available before completely running out because customers may be in a hurry and smoothies can start melting while they wait. Instead of simply acknowledging the comment, one employee responded sarcastically, "Haha, whatever you say." The employees then started laughing and making sarcastic comments among themselves. I asked directly whether they were laughing about what I had said. They looked at each other and sarcastically responded along the lines of, "Noooo, how would we do that? Never," while continuing to laugh. At that point I asked for a manager. I explained what happened and specifically requested that she review the camera footage so there would be an objective record of the interaction. Running out of supplies happens. Having to wait occasionally happens. My complaint is about employees mocking a customer, responding sarcastically, and treating a normal customer-service concern like a joke. I was not yelling, insulting anyone, or behaving disrespectfully. I simply expected basic professionalism. I hope management reviews the footage and addresses this with the team because this is not the level of customer service I expect from Whole Foods.

Like these are one way aisles pretty much unless you are a California size -1. I'm old fat and cranky so parking is the biggest concern of mine and I actually googled which is the Erewhon with the least hassle free parking and this one came up and it's true. There is 90 minute free parking and it's not exactly simple. You have to get a ticket and then you may be double parking someone inside and you have to give some people your keys so if they have to move your car you can't they can. They held onto my keys but did not move my car so I didn't tip them. I wasn't expecting to tip when I went to a grocery store. There's more than one business in the plaza so I think they're employed by them so just be prepared with that and have cash on hand. I did not get the Hailey Bieber smoothie although I was tempted. I've heard mixed reviews and I know it's very expensive and I did not want to spend that kind of money on a smoothie. I didn't like. I did end up getting a bottled peanut butter smoothie and that one cost $14 and it was really delicious. It tasted healthy, but it was really good. I also got some vanilla chai crisps that are in the back corner by the freezer section and those are delicious as well. Those were $6.99 for a bag and honestly, I thought that was reasonable. I did get a strawberry cream dessert. It's all natural and I think vegan or something or other. I don't know. It was really good, from the few bites I had I was going to save it and it melted in my car so hopefully it will taste good tomorrow even if it's not in the shape originally was. I also got some Keylime and Meyer lemon tarts. I tried the lemon one they should be refrigerated which I did not know until I tried to eat them. The lemon one was good. I have not tried the lime one yet. I ended up spending $44 on five items. I just went there to say I've gone there. Would I go there regularly if there was one available to me probably not but I would go occasionally. It just seems now that it's a lot of content creators or people who want to see content creators, or people we're just going there is a tourist. I can't imagine anyone doing their weekly shopping here.

This store is above & beyond great in every way on every level. It is very nicely organized, full of stuff to buy from alcohol, to ready made salads, to the deli, all the way to chips, pastry, candy, meat, dairy, can food, pet food, fresh fruits and vegetables, and you get the point. A lot of good things. Prices are reasonable and very affordable. Easy to navigate all the aisles without bumping in to each other. So close to my home, and so many times I have made a contribution/donation to the food pantry to the Little Brown Church that is right across from M&M Liquor/market store. They really have everything. Conveniently located at the corner of Moorpark & Coldwater Canyon. Go check them out. You will LOVE this mini market. Shelves are always full! Products nicely facing the customers. It really is a convenient store without the hustle and the bustle. Excellent customer service by all the employees. The store is always nicely curated, clean and it has a restroom that you can use only if they allow you to. Plenty of parking spaces.

This review is about to make me seem like an insane person. I'm not denying that I am a bit odd, but here goes ....I have a nemesis at this Ralph's. She's angered me to the point that I have had to go far away from her and whisper-yell obscenities at my roommate. For set-up: There are a few little nice things that I do regularly to make my home feel like a beloved space. I always make my bed, never leave dishes in the sink, and always have fresh flowers in a vase on the kitchen table. Every Sunday we make our way to Ralph's for our weekly grocery trip. Yes, the lines are stupidly long and people are meandering slowly through the aisles like they just learned to walk. But the selection is usually good. The prices are average. I like that they're taking steps toward using biodegradable packaging for their pre-cut vegetables. I hope to see more of that.However, lets get back to the matter at hand.I was doing my weekly flower-buying decision-making. What is normally a joyous part of my week was turned into something ugly. I pulled out a bouquet of flowers I hadn't seen before and as I was turning to my roommate to say "I wonder what type of flowers--" the monster working in the floral department came barreling at me, pulled the flowers out of my hand, put them back, and said, "Can I help you?" Completely startled, I said, "Just looking for flowers."I ended up being so completely jarred by the experience that I just didn't buy flowers that week.The next week I asked my roommate to take me to the other Ralph's nearby because I didn't want another run-in. We don't like that Ralph's as much, but I wasn't going to risk another flower-free week.The following week we returned. I found a lovely fall bouquet that would look great on our table and pulled it out of it's holder. Guess who came swooping in like a lunatic, snarling at me "You need to put those in a flower bag!" Which, I informed her, I was about to do. The thing is, I get that she's trying to look out for the safety of the other customers. We don't want water leaking on the floor. However, there is a much gentler way to convey that message. Anyway, now I have this twisted fantasy about coming into this Ralph's an grabbing all of the bouquets out of their holders and throwing them all on the floor and stomping on them. Beware of Contaminated Wild Salmon I recently had a deeply unsatisfactory experience at Ralph's Supermarket that I feel compelled to share. My purchase of wild salmon turned out to be a complete nightmare, as the fish was infested with parasitic worms. Needless to say, this has left a lasting negative impression. Upon bringing the salmon home, I noticed something suspicious while preparing it for dinner. To my shock and disgust, I discovered numerous wriggling worms throughout the flesh. It was a truly repulsive sight that I never expected to encounter when purchasing fish from a reputable supermarket like Ralph's. This incident raises serious concerns about the quality control and freshness of Ralph's seafood department. As a customer, I trust that the products I purchase are safe and of high quality. However, the presence of such parasites in the wild salmon suggests a severe lapse in hygiene and thoroughness in handling and inspecting their seafood products. Not only did this unfortunate discovery ruin my meal plans, but it also raised health concerns. Parasitic worms can pose a risk to consumers, potentially causing gastrointestinal discomfort and other health issues. It is deeply alarming that Ralph's Supermarket would allow such contaminated products to reach the shelves, jeopardizing the well-being of their customers. Tony's Tyranny: Banned by Ralph's, Blessed by Pavilions. Rating: Zero Stars (If Possible) Let me be unequivocally clear: every single negative review you've read about Ralph's is 100% accurate. And at the heart of this festering pit of incompetence is a man named Tony. Tony, you are a walking, talking disaster. My scheduled 8 PM delivery? A complete and utter failure. No staff, no order, just the stark realization that Tony's 'management' consists of hiding in his office and ignoring his responsibilities. The employees, clearly demoralized and exhausted by Tony's ineptitude, openly admitted their disdain. They practically begged me to join the chorus of complaints against him. They are sick of having to apologize for Tony. But Tony's incompetence doesn't stop at simple negligence. Oh no, he's vindictive too. After I dared to complain about his abysmal service, he had the audacity to BLOCK MY ACCOUNT! That's right, Ralph's, 1.2 miles from my home, has banned me. I'm now forced to drive 2.4 miles to Pavilions, and guess what? It's STILL faster. Twice now I've ordered from Pavilions, and each time, it's been a flawless, efficient experience. Ten times faster than the Ralph's debacle. And while we're at it, let's not forget the other managerial 'gems' at Ralph's: Victor, Marvin, and Roy. You're all complicit in this culture of incompetence. But Tony, you are the ringleader of this circus of failure. I'm done. Done with the excuses, done with the empty apologies, done with Tony's tyrannical reign. Ralph's, you've lost a loyal customer. Pavilions, you've gained one. Your/Our Ralph's supermarket @ Van Nuys and Burbank Friday evening. Where's the city or county or state health inspectors? Do we have them anymore??? This keep s getting worse and worse. I have talked with the manager(s) about this on 3 separate occasions - I guess we'll start shopping somewhere else. Please make note this a larger and more serious problem ... the homeless situation grows as there is no funding for shelters and the homeless use these restrooms to clean up - I've been there and seen it. They have no where to go. If you ever walk that direction you will see these folks sleeping and camping out wherever they can. SAD for our community:( It's still no excuse for Ralph's not to maintain to minimal standards especially around food supplies! No wonder crime increases ... Don't me me wrong we like Ralph's - in general - it is specifically that store only! We love the Ventura Hazeltine Ralph's as well. However we really enjoy walking from our home around Woodman and Burbank to the Ralph's on Van Nuys and Burbank via Chandler and Burbank. We've been going to that location for over 15+ years. It has greatly decade over the last year or 2 and is getting worse. As far as using the bathroom when you walk and you got to go ... you got to go ... AND just out of curiosity I've checked other Ralph's bathrooms as well as other markets in very distressed areas - nothing not one - not even gas station bathroom matches the total disgusting filthy mess @ Ventura and Burbank. Consider this food is being handled and hopefully that is not how the staff there keeps the rest of the market and services .... think about that ... read more

I am so upset. I have just been sitting here crying after how I was treated at your store today. I am an older woman with a disability and recently moved here to Van Nuys. I went with my granddaughter to do some shopping and we went through the part where you scan the groceries yourself. I usually don't go near those but the other lines were so long that we used that. I had trouble with my card. The machine said it couldn't read it so I asked the woman there and she was so rude. She was standing along the wall talking to another employee and seemed so irritated that she had to help me! I wasn't rude, but I did have to get her attention because she wasn't noticing that me and another customer needed help and that seemed to annoy her. I even tried to apologized to her as she helped me and she took my card out of my hand and swiped it threw and then yelled at me that I had been swiping it wrong! I was speechless. She was so annoyed to help me i couldn't believe it! When she was done, she walked back to the other employee without even saying have a nice day or whatever. She was a taller woman with dark hair and she was wearing a mask. Her name tag said Penny. My granddaughter encouraged me to sign up for yalp and make this review so others can know how an older disabled woman was treated in your store. I am just so embarrassed that my granddaughter had to see her grandmother treated this way, I'm still shaking. WARMS This is absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable! I bought this smoked fish expecting a quality product, only to be horrified by what I found. I ate one piece without realizing, and then as I started eating the second, I saw something revolting - worms! And it wasn't just a single incident; I found another worm in yet another piece! How could something like this even make it to the store shelves? Such negligence! Now, I'm left wondering what impact this could have on my health, as I've already unknowingly consumed part of this so-called 'delicacy.' I will never buy anything from this brand again, and I would advise others to avoid it at all costs. If you care about your health, stay far away from this 'food'! This entire experience has been a nightmare, and I am seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the relevant authorities. This store doesn't even deserve a star , however I previously worked there for less than a month and they are extremely unprofessional . I only worked in the Starbucks which was Hell ! The manager in Starbucks Tanya needs to get fired asap ! She is a horrible manager and has questionable work ethics . She also lets her coworkers gossip all day and lets them play their music on the bluetooth and lets just say thug music shouldn't be played on your shift .I worked at the Ralph's on Ventura blvd and Hazeltine for 1 1/2 years and it was decent but when they transferred me to this store on Van Nuys and Burbank Blvd it was the most horrible experience ! I advise no one to work for Ralph's ! Its not even worth it .... Also as a former customer , at 12 midnight there is only 1 guy at the register when there is 15 people in line and he's slow but it's not entirely his fault and it takes like 15 mins for someone in the back to help him by opening up another register read more

I was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, so I have been shopping at this location even before it became Ralph's (circa the Hughes' grocery era). This place has seen me at all stages of life from a little girl getting her birthday cakes to a university student down with the flu needing cough syrup at 4am to now. Ralph's always has my back 24/7. I am almost here daily, even for the smallest thing. And, being a vegetarian like me, you know you are a frequent shopper for organic vegetables. The manager Danny always asks how I am doing and lends a hand doing the checkout. It's great to see a down to Earth manager who greets me when he sees me and helps his team keep the store running. Also, Shantay, she's the best, because since I am a big couponer she reminds me about my coupons while at checkout. PENNY IS A JOKE! Ralphs, your girl in the front needs to go. Customer service ain't her thing obvi! She's the tall one with dark hair waring a mask and working the customer registers. She always stands along the front wall hanging with the rentacop and gets pissed if you need her for anything. It's your job, yo! This ain't the first time either. Awhile back she was YELLING at people when i was there, something about digital coupons and getting shitty with old people! But she always seems pissed off when she has to help people. 03/05/2022 An employee who works self check out in early evenings. Beware, bad attitude and will cuss out female customers. He is about 5'6, Hispanic, thin build with glasses. Wears a navy blue jacket. Asked him to do an exchange and got an attitude with me said was not his job and told me to wait in a regular line. As I was leaving, I gave him a dirty look and he decided to call me a FUCKING BITCH. Called manager, but didn't really seemed to care. Scummy store! I was just in there less than an hour ago, drove home, and on the receipt I see that on 2 of my items, the cashier rang them up twice when I only had one (1) of each! Both items cost $3.99! I made several attempts to call the store and speak with a manager, NO ANSWER! The bogus phone number just rings and rings! In this economy, that's how they are making their money, by overcharging their customers and avoiding them. Total losers! This is the worst managed Ralph's in the south San Fernando valley. The lines are always long to check out, the bathrooms are filthy, their selection is poor, they never have baggers and the aisles are so narrow it's difficult to navigate. Every time I come here I always vow never to come back. Currently waiting in line... They do have Clicklist but inevitably at least three things I asked for are wrong or missing; plus last time there was a meth head standing right by the Clicklist pick up yelling white supremacist slurs at people entering the store. read more

I can't stand this Ralph's. The customer service and security here are TERRIBLE. I understand the work they have to do to stop theft but you should be able to distinguish between LOYAL PAYING CUSTOMERS vs. suspicious characters. I used to come here all the time but the energy is off every time. Theres an older short lady with a short cut that works the cashier that has the WORST attitude and terrible at her job. Hiring personal HERMAS RIVAS needs to get fired. Showed up 2 hours late to perform an interview only to have him blow off the interviewee within 1 minute of starting said interview. The produce section is certainly lacking. No bananas? No grapes? But a whole display of cranberries AFTER the holidays? We did end up in a conversation with Rudy in produce who helped us pick out some watermelon and nice apples. My family eats a lot of fruit, so I hope they sort out their produce or we'll have to go somewhere else. Rudy is the best thing going for this location! Personable and friendly. read more

Security guards, wife doesn't love him or something every time you take a cart out of the store and it passes the front door the wheels stop working because of a sensor problem. I go and tell the guard the guy looks at me and says push. It looks at me like I'm crazy. Only come to this Ralph's if you want your blood pressure to be through the roof. read more

I found the soda I wanted and also got some gum. Before checking out, I saw where they kept more beverage in a open refrigerator so I went to look at the options there. I saw a coconut water brand that I like so I got that instead of a Cherry coke. The price for the coconut bottle was way higher. After I got my coconut water I went to checkout with a cashier. This store also have self checkout too but since they were not busy inside, the cashier didn't have a line.

They also sell milk past its due date (like Bruguière's) and require you to bring a receipt just to get your milk bottle deposit back. They're allegedly part of the group of businesses that built a wall to block small businesses from being seen or using the parking lot. They reportedly wanted at least one of those small businesses to start paying $100k a year instead of $60k. Which is wild because they just spent a bunch of money remodeling.

It is fully stocked with international foods, refrigerated drinks, fresh produce, a huge selection of hot cases, ready-made salads, soups, baked goods, marinated meats/seafood and a whole lot more. On today's visit I bought: apples, bread, cookies, salt, oranges, drinks of different kinds, 4 onions, a box of teabags, deli products, and a few ready-made salads. The employees are great, helpful and will even offer to take your groceries to your car. Their cheese turnovers are very delicious. They also have dairy and deli departments. You absolutely can not overlook the famous red tower façade. To the left of this, sits a small shopping strip and in this shopping strip: you will see Monte Market. The signage font looks like it employed the same branding graphic designer as whomever is behind retailers REI or Patagonia, complete with mountain images; but this is no sporting goods store pampering the hiking and granola crowd. Rather, Monte Market is an ethnic market (predominately Armenian, Russian-Armenian) and being European (100% Hungarian) means that I ADORE ethnic stores and therefore I made a beeline for the Monte Market entrance like a moth to a flame. Monte Market is a relatively small space but they fit a large variety of goods into the square footage. You will find everything from dried fruits, nuts, candies/chocolates, teas, beverages, cookies, fruit syrups for seltzers (us Hungarians love these) lavash breads, and other dried goods; to fresh produce, refrigerated items and a deli and meat counter. You can find a little bit of everything at Monte Market on your list plus can order meats for your events (or just your dinner). The great thing about Monte Market is that in typical ethnic market fashion, you will find imported goodies that you don't see in our standard grocery stores even if from brands we are used to for example: Oreo and Twix cookies we don't have at Ralphs, tea inside matroyshka nesting dolls, etc. Also favorably, I've found that items tend to be expired at ethnic stores and covered in a layer of dust but that didn't seem to be the case at Monte Market. Another highlight of Monte Market? I was expecting crazy, overpriced items due to imports and being a specialty market and I was happily surprised to find that prices were VERY fair and even less than prices at a Ralphs! Even eggs which are in hot demand at the time of this review were cheaper than most other stores including Walmart. Very impressive, Monte Market! My only complaint with Monte Market is that I felt very out of place. Everyone from the employees to other customers were starting at me. Did they know I'm not Armenian? Was it because I was dressed up in a sexy outfit and heels? Even the girl behind the register whom I tried to start small talk with cause were were both wearing cropped black leather jackets; asked if I needed help in a way that was obvious she thought I was trying to steal or be shady. Relax honey, I'm not stealing ethnic foods and simply browsing. Other than that slight hiccup; Monte Market is quite nice with a desirable selection of goods that is much better than the other Armenian markets in the adjacent area (which, for the record, also always give me weird looks as well so maybe it is because I'm not Armenian. Meh). I suggest Monte Market up their customer service game. Despite this, I still recommend this market for your Middle Eastern goodies or to browse after your thrift store adventure.
