This is a review solely for Keisha in the deli. She was so pleasant, felt so bad for a guy who was skipped. Then helping me I got a slice of the turkey I ordered and told her I was starving and hadn't eaten yet (1:30 pm). I laughed and said I needed to eat before shopping. Parking here is great - but that's it! I stopped to pick up one item as I was passing through the area. The store smelled like SH*T! I thought maybe I had passed someone who let out gas but NO - IT WAS FOUL SMELLING in the entire store! Maybe the toilet exploded, I don't know! I love this place the service is great I love the fresh seafood over the counter in meat department in the back of store by the breads. I drive to this Ralphs just for it and it's much cleaner than the one near me. I love the self check out so convenient if ur in a rush. The Armenian lady in the front of self check out is so unbelievably nice she is always smiling. Parking can be a bit of a CRUNCH though. They also have a inside Starbucks which again I love. This is my favorite Ralphs because it's open 24-7! I hate waiting in lines and traffic so I come here late at night and do my shopping. Even at night there is always staff to help me find what I need, multiple registers open so no lines. The parking lot is always lit up and has a security guard. Staff is cool too, always the same dude working the register with a positive attitude! read more

Service is hit or miss here but just wanted to mention a new employee Ahmad (I think) who works in the self checkout. Gerardo (worked at 1am 8/16/16) should not be allowed to work with the public. He FLIPPED out on me when I tried to get cash back on a large grocery purchase. He spent what felt like 10 minutes yelling at me and embarrassing me in front of a line of people, scolding me for attempting to get cash back at a later hour and claiming he didn't have be money in his register. He told me that I don't have common sense and that I had created a "big problem" for him. I repeatedly asked if I could just pay for my groceries and leave and at one point I finally told him that he was being extremely rude. Instead of apologizing he denied being rude and kept repeating that I should have known better and that I had caused him a big inconvenience because he didn't have the money. Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect by an employee of a store I am spending money at. The best part is, after making me feel like absolute crap while a crowd looked on, he ended up having the cash that I had requested. If customers are not able to get cash back after a certain hour in a 24 hour store, perhaps some sort of signage is necessary. I hope that this review is seen by management and that action is taken against this employee for hugely crossing the line with a patron. read more

This is not my favorite Ralph's location...first of all, it's in a ghetto area and I see some questionable people in the parking lot every so often. It's definitely run down and not the nicest looking grocery store. I live almost exactly between this location and the one located on Coldwater/Ventura, and I prefer to go to that location over this one because it is nicer and I feel safer there. I feel like this location is possibly smaller than the Coldwater location, but maybe that's just me. TIP: Sign up for a Ralphs card to get discounts on your groceries! April 13 at 1:08 pm I was at self check out and the woman who was working was forcefully offering me a bag I work at another Ralph's so I know what it's like to work at a self check out and how to respectfully offer help to customers this woman got in my boyfriends face asking if we wanted a bag after I had already said no then proceeded to roll her eyes and say " my god " out loud to another customer. I wish I got this woman's name so management can speak to her and teach her how to properly talk to customers. read more

You need negative stars. Had enough and went to Ralph's on Ventura. It's GONE. So this Ralph's can just treat customers even worse!!! Tried to leave and door is locked!!! Sign says they will be locking that door at 9 p.m. IT IS 8PM!!!! This is the worst grocery store I have been to in my life. Loved it when it was Hughes. It is a nightmare now. They are doing you a favor by allowing you to purchase they overpriced groceries. I complained about the door being locked and the lady with enormous painted eyebrows said that they ordered a new sign but it didn't arrive!! Then follow what your sign says! Horrible customer service. The other day there were only 2 registers open. Three people were just talking away at the managers area. The line was winding through the store. I've been avoiding writing this because SOME employees are sweet. But on a few occasions I've walked out completely bewildered by the lack of customer service here, mainly by the deli/bakery people. When the salad bar is missing items & request it I get an attitude. I opened the lower cabinet looking for dressing cups & containers & a few employees walked by totally ignoring me, none offered to help or get the items to put in the empty bar area. Today I waited in line for my turn to purchase a baked potato & I brought a container that I put on top of the deli. The lady put my my baked potato in a standing up container which defeated the purpose of the baked potato since everything fell off of it. Before I can even ask to pay for it she walks away and starts helping the next customer. I try to get her attention & ask if she can ring me up she replies & tells me she's assisting other customers & id have to wait in line (there's like 4 people in line at this point). I said I had been waiting in line and was here before everyone else so why would I wait all over. She gave me the dirtiest look & I simply just walked away before I really lost it. There isn't much I like coming to Ralphs for. As most people can see from my other Ralphs reviews, I pretty much steer clear of them. This location is 24 hours though. So when I have to have a late night snack or am cooking and have forgotten something, I know I can come here and stock up. My biggest problem here is that in the afternoon this place is packed. In the late night or early morning hours the rows are filled with inventory and people and working like crazy to restock. I have on more than one trip dodged a flying inventory box and run over by stock people not looking at where they are going. But this is a pretty big store and they do have a large salad bar, and hot food station. As far as the bakery goes, I only like their line of soft top cookies. read more

Ralph's is Ralph's. It's a supermarket and they're always fully stocked on the items you need. Ralph's has always been my go-to market because their prices are fair and their selection is good. I can't give this particular location a 5 star rating though because there's always people in front asking for money and donations. And while I don't mind donating whenever I have cash in my pocket it's just a little bit annoying that there's ALWAYS people in front. I think the manager should regulate on the amount of solicitors at his store front. read more

This place has undergone a MAJOR change in the past year that I have lived here. Before I was annoyed when I had to go in there before 9PM and scared to go in after. The lines were always long, there wasn't enough choices in groceries and there were some pretty unsavory characters floating about. It was a last resort stop. I am guessing someone walked in to that store late one night and said "Oh HELL no". Thank goodness for whatever upper-management decided to clean house. Now when I go in I am either greeted by the sweetest young guy or the sweetest old gentleman. There is fresh produce and flowers in abundance. The organic foods have been expanded exponentially. They even have the good sense to put in a Coffee Bean. (IMHO much better than Starbucks) And to make things that much better they have expanded the alcohol section to include premiums liquors, a variety of wines and sakes! There is currently a Horin Geikkekan Junmai Daiginjo on sale for only 12.00 (trust me on this, if you like sake pick up this bottle, you will taste a vast difference) It's pretty hard to find any kind selection of sake much less something of that quality. Bonus Taco! (for me anyway) There is "check yourself out" line. No, it's not a line of full-length mirrors but your own checkstand to ring, bag, and take off in a mere matter of moments. See? I too could be a checkout girl! Look how fast I scan! It's still a little on the expensive side for standard groceries (you can run down to Farm Boy around the corner and get a portabello mushroom for a dollar and Ralphs charges 2.50-3.00) and the late nights still need a bit of help (hence the 4 stars) but it's definitely no longer "scary Ralphs". read more

Today I had the misfortune of buying what Ralphs' styles "Orange Chicken." What a colossal mistake! Where to begin? The chicken is dry and flavorless, the rice is over-cooked and the vegetables--what there are of them--are virtually inedible This is a dish to be scrupulously avoided. Very friendly and helpful, when there are enough people on the floor to help you. The parking can be tough, but what market worthy of themselves isn't? This is LA after all. Have good deals, and good products, my only current complaint would be that they don't update their inventory throughout the day, so You come to find shelves empty of product. But I've found this to be an issue with Ralph's markets in general, not just this store. Follow the Ads for the best deals, and check the ingredients on Kroger or discounted products to save money versus the brand names. read more

It's a Ralphs and its open 24/7. That right there is a lot to love because I am a night owl and the options open to those of us who tend to live mostly in the hours between 10pm and sunrise are woefully limited. The fact that this is actually a pretty decent Ralphs with a good selection is just icing on the metaphorical convenience cake. The people who work here are generally pretty friendly, they have a pretty good cheese selection, fresh meat and produce, etc. They have moved things around a bit so that all of the hard liquor is now at the very front of the store on the wrong side of the cashiers inside locked cabinets, so if you're looking to purchase a bottle of whiskey or something it can end up being a bit of a process. I try to avoid buying booze here anymore because the last time I did it took like 15 minutes because the cashier had to find someone with the key, needed me to come over and point out which bottle I wanted because (bless her) she didn't know what a fifth of Jack Daniels is, and then the door to the case wouldn't shut right and she ended up struggling with it for several minutes before she finally gave up and i was able to pay and get out of there. Also of note, in the middle of the night there are often some very... interesting folks here. I've never had anyone try to start trouble with me or anything but if you are the type who gets really sketched out when you see some twitchy person talking to themselves then you probably would not like this place late at night. I haaaate grocery shopping in general. I also haaaate that I can't find a grocery store in Van Nuys that doesn't completely aggravate me. This one is the best so far (sad, isn't it?). I love that they remodeled, but I guess they just passed the cost on to the customer. Like, all of it and then some. I hate that they rarely have more than one regular lane and one express lane open whenever I'm there. I also hate that there are 10 people working at the deli counter, yet there is always a a ridiculous wait even though there are only 2 people in front of you. Do the math. That.does.not.make.sense.people!! Not to mention that those deli employees show zero interest in at least sort of hurrying to complete your order. It took me 20 minutes to have get one pound of lunch meat and 1/2 pound of cheese. There was ONE person being served in front of me. WTF?? I love this Ralph's. I live equidistant from the Ralph's on Ventura Boulevard and the Ralph's on Burbank, and I CHOOSE to go to the Burbank location. Since the remodel, I've found that there are TONS of deals to be had. Store-wide. My last trip, I overfilled 5 bags of groceries, spent $118 and left with almost $30 in savings. I have ordered custom cakes from the bakery and find the people who work behind the counter to be kind and helpful. I love Pete the doorguy who is always there to help me out to my car if I need it (which I never take him up on, but it's good to know he's there). Unlike the bulk of you, I LOVE this Ralph's. And the only reason I even felt compelled to post anything about it was because - while I was searching for their phone number to order some Halloween cupcakes - I saw your awful reviews. We all need to start looking for the GOOD in people and places. I think if you walk into a place with a happy heart, you'll see that things look a little sunnier on the other side. read more

Never enough employees scheduled, ridiculously long check out lines, they never enforce the 15 items or less line so people buy 5893 things and they somehow always have the most disgusting restrooms. Does anyone actually clean it? You sell food here, and your employees also use that restroom. Get your sanitation situation sorted. FILL UP YOUR SOAPS AND CLEAN UP THE FECES. This store has a starbucks inside (there is also one across the street!) A pharmacy and many self check out lanes..and it's open 24 hours! The fact that it's open 24 hours is the main reason I come here. This store is always clean. Everyone is friendly enough and they carry weetabix. For this I am one happy girl! read more

I think Ralph's is underrated...especially by all those Trader Joe's and Whole Foods people. I know those stores have great stuff...no denying it! But, Ralph's, at least this location, had done everything they can to compete. In fact, I've found a few items here that are carried at Whole Foods. On top of it, I think it's impossible to do all your shopping at those other places. They don't carry all the stuff you need like at an old fashioned super market so, you're gonna end up at Ralph's anyway. I'm all about convenience and if Ralph's does that for me, why complain. One stop shopping! Besides, if you live in the area, then you know VERY WELL what an ordeal it is to shop at those other stores. Parking blows and you have to play shopping cart war in the tiny aisles. Ralph's wins! Don't get me wrong, I'll stop by the other places for their novelty items (if I have the where with all to put up with the stress) a few times a year. I shop at this Ralph's at least twice a week and I must say that out of all different stores I've been to in the surrounding area, this particular location is one of the best. Although the exterior area of the store may not be the most appealing, (there is a recycling center in the same parking lot that attracts a lot of people and sometimes creates congestion) the inside is always clean and the employees are very helpful. If I ever have trouble finding an item, I can always count on someone being available to assist me. The parking lot can get full at peak hours and exiting on the surrounding streets (Burbank/Van Nuys) can also be tricky, so just be aware before you take the journey to this location! read more

This is down the street from my house so I come here often. The pros are that in the hundreds of times I've shopped here only one time did the cashier mess up and be rude about it, but the manager put her in check and instantly fixed my problem, their customer service is excellent. They have pretty much everything I need, and restock pretty often. They have a redbox outside and an amazing staff at Starbucks inside (used to be a coffee bean) Cons: this is the third time in two years that I bought food that went on sale at Ralph's (extremely low prices that I almost can't believe on things like meat or otherwise expensive items... And 4-5 days later there's a major nationwide recall on those exact items, it JUST happened again on my foster farms chicken) super suspicious and hardly a coincidence. Kind of on the pricey side. There are always bums or beggars in front of this store, because of this I hate coming alone, I feel extremely uncomfortable and wish the store would have a stricter policy, this is the main reason I avoid this location. Dreadful experience today in Ralphs at Burbank and Van Nuys. Man wasn't wearing mask in the produce section (it's the law in Los angeles.) He became hostile when I asked twice, and the nearby employee just walked away. When I approached her at the bakery she said, "What do you want, he was drinking coffee!" I said I wanted her to tell him to please wear a mask, it's required in Los Angeles. She nastily replied, "who says?". When I called customer service to complain, the customer service rep hung up on me. 20+ year customer because it's convenient to me, and I will never go back. The Staff tries hard... prices are so-so (higher since their remodel, probably to make up for the expense) and their double coupon banner should be taken down (but they BOLTED it to the facade) because they don't offer them as advertised. DO NOT USE RALPHS CLICKLIST! When they first started a year ago, they were great and I sang their praises. Now, they have these lackluster "managers" Christi and A.J. who do the bare minimum ar best They tell you they don't carry an item that you just bought at THAT store a couple of weeks ago. They substitute items for GENERIC kroger items when you clearly select NO SUBSTITUTIONS! They give you items like nail polish and krazy glue one week, now they're saying THOSE items are IN STORE ONLY. If you're going to do this portion of your business so poorly, I'll go back to shopping across town in the nicer area and leave this HEADACHE for other ppl to deal with. ACTUALLY! They NEED TO GET RID OF Clicklist at this location altogether! Poor service, even WORSE customer service! Oh, I didn't even tell you about the time this other guy was there to pick up his order of 3 Items Early, and he was nearly cussed out by the workers and told you just have to wait until your slotted time. And there was only one other car besides me there. I even told the person since I have so much and he was waiting therw before me for 3 items, they can go ahead and help him. They maintained, NO HE HAS TO WAIT. smh If I could've given ZERO stars, I would've. BRING BACK CRAIG! He was the manager when it started who SEEMED to care about providing Excellent service. RACIAL PROFILING A white manager felt the need to ask me if I paid for my groceries because of the way I dressed. A couple weeks ago there was an incident with one of their managing staff. It's 45 degrees at night and I'm wearing shorts and a hoodie. after purchasing my groceries I proceeded to exit the store. a bag of bulk nuts ripped so I rebagged my nuts. as I was leaving the parking lot a white manager said to me hey man do you have a receipt for that stuff. to which I replied yes I paid for my stuff do you want to come check. I was undoubtably angry at the time and must have scared the man because I was wearing a hoodie at the time. the manager went back inside and didn't say a word. I shop here all the time he should at least say "excuse me sir" all semantics aside the manager was obviously racist and I can no longer support his business. Luckily where I work there is a Sprouts farmers market just down the street I will be shopping there more often. I have never had a problem with this Ralph's staff until now and it makes me someone sad that I have to write a bad review. I still feel strongly and will demand an apology the next time I see the guy. It's this kind of fear and racial profiling. that gets black men like me killed every day. read more

Ralphs was my primary store, particularly after the Pavilions in Ventura Blvd were closed. Indeed, It is not going to be anymore not for me nor my family! Ugh, it's close to my house and I've been shopping there for so long that I can get in/out more quickly because I know where to find most of my stuff. But I've been making an effort to shop elsewhere. This Ralph's is consistently overcrowded, you get assaulted by panhandlers when you walk in, they never have enough employees working the checkout lines... come to think of it, back in the day, I remember when grocery stores had an employee walking around JUST so customers could ask him/her where to find stuff. Haha, how cool would that be? This store just has too many people shopping here, to the point where the shelves get decimated so quickly that they need to be restocked during the day. That restocking gets in the way of shoppers. I can't see what's behind the huge pallets. One of the worst things about this store is the smell at the berry area. The little open refrigerator where they keep all of the blueberries and raspberries... it smells like urine. I've complained about it numerous times, and it continues to smell like urine. You have to wonder 1) WHAT would cause it to smell like urine? Did someone actually pee on it? Ok, maybe it was someone's dog. 2) What would cause the smell to linger after months and months? I mean, doesn't urine eventually stop smelling like urine? Is someone peeing in the same area repeatedly? I know a lot of people bring their dogs in the store, but there are also a lot of homeless people there. Regarding the homeless people - the removal of the recycling center seems to have made a lot of them go away, but there are still a lot there. This intersection is a place where homeless people congregate. Again, I am trying to shop elsewhere. The Ralph's on Ventura Blvd is just too big. Gelson's is too small. Trader Joe's doesn't have everything I need. I'm hopeful that when the new Pavilion's is finished, it will be my go-to place. read more

Ive been coming here since i moved here going on 4 years! I actually dont mind this place at all... 1st off its open 24 hours, parking is huge, never seen it dirty & the security guard is the best. Cleanliness id give it a 7! Always feels clean & the staff is always nice! Full stock of stuff all the time ive been there and everything ive bought never had any mold on it. I actually purchased some bread from quote on quote "Whole Foods" and the bread was super molded! I was very surprised... Fruits here are clean and the hot food section is on point too.
