Love that this goes light on the mayo and that it has some mentaiko which I don't commonly see. They actually put in a decent amount of avocado too. The value is great. These are larger than the usual rolls. Tastes even better with a bit of wasabi and soy sauce. Maki: 8.5/10. Various Maki options. All good and fresh and good value. There are two ways to buy fish here - rolls that are made fresh and in the fridge, or the fish market where you can buy fish by the lb. I didn't buy the fish straight from the market, but I would definitely do that in the future. The market also sells a lot of other things that you'd normally find in Japan or Hawaii. It's next to Carl's Jr. Parking lot is easy to miss but that's okay because there are two ways to enter and lots of street parking. Free parking either way. No tables to sit at but that's okay.

I have been to this Asian market a few times and am actually surprised that the price of produce is really cheap. But you do have to be aware that the fruits may not last as long as maybe going to another market like Smart & Final or Stater Bro's. Also there have been times when I have seen produce starting to mold/ have spots. During cherry season, I was surprised to find that this market sold rainier cherries (I actually love these more than the red ones) for $1.98 per pound where as other places are selling them for anywhere from $5 to $7 per pound. It is very busy when some of their produce like that is very cheap (because you know you just aren't the only one who thinks that is a good deal). The rest of the market itself has a similar layout as what you would expect at other Asian markets. And on our past visits, the market has been clean and did not have that familiar odor that may be associated with Asian markets. One thing I thought was interesting though about this market is that you need to have a minimum purchase of at least $5 for credit card transactions. I have only seen a small number of markets that have a minimum for credit card transactions and just wanted to bring that up for those that don't normally carry cash but wish to grocery shop here.

Especially when it comes to returns or asking team members about checking stock on items/help finding items. Then there's the issue of nothing ever being in stock. I'm not talking about discontinued items either, I'm talking about basic, staple items: milk, pasta noodles, frozen items. I went in with a list of 10 items only for 3 items to be out of stock, on a weekday. That's pretty bad. Does Trader Joe's really expect people to be able to come ink the same store multiple times in one week just to buy basics? This is starting to become a place that's not worthwhile to visit, as it's not very functional.

The staff told me that the item needed to be taken back to the original location because they cannot take the return. That didn't sound right to me so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager actually told me the same thing. I explained how wrong this was and the manager finally said to hold on for a minute so that he can call the other store and try to work out a solution. I'm the end, they made a correction in their system to manually enter the corrected price and yield the correct total refund. It took a while but I was happy 8 didn't have to make a trip out to the other store.

Soy sauces, chili oils, preserved items, can goods, etc. Not too many choices to choose from, but it's fine. The store basically has a little of everything for your needs. It's quite clean and well lit inside. They don't seems too busy, and the workers don't look stressed. I guess it's fine. Overall, I like this place. I won't make a special trip to come here unless I workout next door. There's no comparison to other Asian markets, as those are usually more busy and well stocked with many choices. I hate Ralphs especially the one in Temple City on Las Tunas.I worked for the company faithfully for many years and was a hard worker who never called in sick and was great with customers and employees.That all changed in Sept 2009 when I got hurt on the job all my many years of service meant nothing the company turned on me and later fired me.Mainly due to 3 indivisuals their Andrea Ventura,Victor Pintado and the Store Director Rosie.They harassed and discriminated against me due to my injury.I worked for the company over 10 years and as soon as I got hurt I was worthless with tons of complaints how conveiniant.My family, close friends and myself will never ever shop at any Ralphs or Kroger company again.We will not contribute 1 penny to the success of such a corrupt company with poor management.Why do you think they got sued for 50 million during the 2004 strike and now with the overcharging they are accused of. I worked their I know how sleazy and dishonest they are and how employees get treated like outcasts as soon as you get hurt or stop kissing up to the bigwigs.The closing manager Victor is racist against gypsys and asians. I'm grateful to their employees who put themselves at risk to serve us during this time. I like most of the employees that work here. Thank you for all the hard work. Now they have the Covid-19 public and employee safety set up, in place and working. As everyone knows, Kroger is making a mint during the pandemic. They are raking in huge profits. It's disappointing that this is not being passed on to consumers. As has been documented, grocery prices are soaring. And Kroger, the country's largest supermarket chain, revoked its $2 per hour increase, hazard pay, for frontline workers. Kroger employees throughout the U.S. continue to die of COVID-19. After public outcry, Kroger agreed to give an extra bonus to employees, paid in two installments. A $200 to $400 bonus. Yet Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen and other top Kroger executives, who are working safely at home, just received multi-million dollar payouts. So much for "trickle-down economics". It's more like trickle-up. The ultra-rich are getting richer. Just to add, it's sort of creepy to me that this Ralphs market is carrying "The Epoch Times", which dabbles in far-right conspiracy theories and pays for ads to promote President Trump. They are constantly pushing Trump. Facebook barred The Epic Times from taking out more ads because they were trying to evade its advertising transparency rules. I don't know why Ralphs market would be carrying this shady paper. read more

Prosecution should be saved for the courtroom for lawyers, not cashiers at the market. Not only do I have to pay attention to what time I go shopping, but also to who's line I get into. I find it heartbreaking and disgusting the incident I witnessed in line a couple weeks ago. Rather than act professional and tell this older woman, who had an accent, that she did not put in her phone number, the cashier Lorena just simply yells, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!" Over and over. Just flat out rude!! Not to mention causing a scene, where one should not be even taking place. It's sad to see the decline in customer service in an area that lacks American Markets, and practically unfathomable that this type of behavior is tolerated in a company that has such high regard for itself. A company that essentially says it stands by their employees, even when belittling the very people they make their profits from. But what do they care, as long as the chicken is fried fresh and the floors are dry, the company, pardon my French, doesn't give a shit. read more

This market is normally quite average, a solid 3 out of 5 stars. This review concerns only my visit on November 10th 2015. Did you know that now the 30% discount on wine only applies to 750 milliliter bottles? Well neither did I, it used to be 750 ml or greater. The cashier today, Mildred, assured me that it had always been only for 750ml bottles. I told her that in my experience shopping here for years it was always 750ml or greater. We got a manager who confirmed that it was only changed 2 weeks ago to 750ml bottles exclusively. I don't like being called a liar or lied to, it's bad for business. Don't know if I'll be buying any more wine at this place in the future. BTW...the men's room is pretty hideous. They need security in and outside of their store on a permanent basis. It's unfair to traumatize your patrons and employees by allowing...yes ALLOWING transients to roam around inside the store harassing shoppers and begging in the parking lot. It's bad enough that it happens at all, but you've got seniors barely getting around that are vulnerable targets and kids spending their money in your store!! Our purchases pay your wages!!! Remodeling won't change a thing! Put your money into hiring security guards or fix the situation that is getting more dangerous by the day!! read more

I have experienced bigotry at this and other RALPHS stores. I am African American and have been followed by security throughout several stores. I was recently told by a Caucasian checker that I could not get plastic bags with EBT purchases . This was an obvious lie for I have always received plastic bags without issue in the past. After speaking manager it was confirmed. I have experienced this type of behavior from both Hispanic and Caucasian employees at RALPHS stores and have decided to discontinue patronage as a result. I was with my autistic client gettign his meals for the week and we went to check out and the black manager though it was a good idea to raise his voice to be understood,because that is logical with a autistic adult, the asian manager stood by and did nothing except work on paperwork, i explained that he was autistic and that was unprofessional, behavior, and he started asking me what my qualifications were, i explained them, and he quickly rang us up. this is discriminatory against the disabled, and i think they should be fired. dot not shop here read more

Im not sure why it didnt go through. It is very annoying when I can't get my discounts for a membership that I paid for. The pharmacy is always busy, but theyre nice and will help when they can.

Prices are at par with Ralph's, Albertsons or Vons. Parking is plentiful. I did not venture out into the other departments other than the pictures that I have posted here just to get a lay of the land. Will likely return to shop here. It's clean, well organized & somewhat stocked (no fresh corn on the cob!). I understand that the supply chain can be fickle. Good overall experience.

I've seen the staff drop everything to ask customers how they're doing, the cashiers always give stickers to babies and kids and I personally have experienced a manager going above and beyond to make sure that I left the store happy and satisfied. My personal thoughts outside the stellar service: great location, never too busy, parking is solid and I know if there's something wrong with something I bought I know the customer service will go out of their way to make sure they can make it right. What more can you ask for from a grocery store?

However, I had taken a photo showing the updated price label from just about 2 weeks ago, which made the situation even more confusing and frustrating--why lie? Also disappointed that the watermelon I bought was bad when I opened it at home but it looked and had all the great indicators it was a good watermelon Meat section prices are pretty competitive and looks fresh. I originally wanted to give a better rating because the employees were nice, but I removed another star due to the misleading pricing, which is a HUGE issue. I hope the new ownership gets things together soon because this place still has a long way to go.
