GW Supermarket is a large Asian grocery market located in a large plaza with plenty of restaurant and Super A Foods (another grocery store). There's plenty of parking. To the right of the entrance is this huge screen that displays the weekly deals. Walking further in, I'm greeted with the fresh produce and fruits section. Each section was well stocked, clean, and organized. The variety is also immense. For example, there were three different types of cucumbers. Price wise, it's not the cheapest. However, I did find some hidden gems. For instance, I bought a huge bags of baby dill for $2.99 per lb, whereas most places only sell a small amount for the same price. Overall, I think this is a great grocery store for locales to visit. read more

The GW Supermarket in Temple City is much cleaner and nicer than the one in Rowland Heights. I've passed by numerous times but I went in tonight for the first time and was quite impressed with how organized the place was. They sell many items not available at 168 Supermarket and they also offer lower prices. The cashiers speaks English, so that's a huge plus. Highly recommend GW Supermarket! read more

Neighborhood Asian market, I find their selection of Asian vegetables to be better than other stores. Pleased with their produce and fruits' freshness, combined with reasonable pricing! They are a Chinese owned market so expect many products to be from China. If you're looking for sauces or instant noodles this is your place! This GW Supermarket is fairly new and it's CLEAN, doesn't smell nasty and the fruits and veggies are fresh (for now, lol) They tend to deteriorate because Asian markets are known to not keep their place sanitize and clean like American markets. The important thing is their prices are pretty good when they are on sale. The veggies and fruits are fresh here and prices are lower than other markets in the SGV. The meat and fish prices are standard and may be on the higher side if there are no promotions. Example: the same kind of fish is $2.99 at Global and here is $5.49. This location GW maybe our favorite one to go to for now. Hope they keep up the good work! read more

I've been here several times and think it's about time I drop a review. The location is convenient, the parking lot is big, as it's shared with other businesses of a large plaza, and the interior is sizable for an Asian market. For what we get, the selections are plentiful. Doesn't matter what I go there to get, I always leave with some sort of snacks and junk food. On weekends, you may see a couple of sample stations. The cashiers are pleasant, haven't come across any rude ones like some other Asian markets. It's brightly lit and aisles and aisles of imported snacks. I'm only gripe is the music they play. It can be downright annoying. Usually I'm able to block out background music but some of the tunes here just invade your brain and make it hurt, but I'll be back again. read more

Love their produce section - lots of leafy greens! Meats section is clean and nicely organized too. In comparison, I'd say it's at par with 99 Ranch and seems a bit nicer than 168 and Good Fortune. Price level is pretty good too. Now, most of the cashiers in Asian markets are super fast - hey, what do you expect from cultures that invented abacus and Kumon Math+, right? Parking is my only complaint on a Sunday. Some rows only had one parking spot but at times two vehicles on either side can be gunning for that one and not notice someone else on the other side. I was actually impressed by the cleanliness of the store and fresh produce available. This store is large and host a variety of food and beverage. There's a large selection of various Asian produce in here. A lot from mainland China, but some from other countries as well. The place is well lit, tidy, and even the seafood section was so clean I didn't even sense a fishy odor anywhere. This is by far the CLEANEST Great Wall supermarket I've been to and I guess it's because they've been open not too long. It's also very HUGE with lots of variety. The meat and seafood area look pretty fresh too. Great prices and not too dirty vegetables like you'd find in other Asian supermarkets. They are also usually pretty stocked in their inventory so that's great too. Lots of parking since it's in a huge plaza. I'd recommend doing your grocery shopping here. read more

I really like this market. Not just because it's newer but, there's plenty of parking, the staff is very helpful when I had questions. They have a larger selection than their other location. I got a really good deal on some of their proteins. And I was so happy that they were checking their produce often. I finally arrived at the new Great Wall market on a Saturday afternoon in early April, my brother drove my sister and I here and found parking closer to the East West Bank. Inside was full of shoppers and they had very good grand opening deals in the fruit and vegetables area. I also like their plastic bags of good quality as I placed some oranges .55 cents lb in the bag. The aisles are clean and fully stocked with lots of food samples along the opened aisles. This is a new Chinese market that took over the space K-Mart occupied. Since they're new, the shopping carts, shelves, and everything is clean. It's pretty big inside and they have a lot of variety. There is a small toy shop, travel agency, clothing store, and jerky store inside as well. Some of their items in different flavors were not stocked together which I thought was inconvenient. Some items did not have price labels and one of the items I purchased did not match the label when the cashier rang it up. Speaking of the cashier, she seemed pretty out of it. No greeting, was very slow, and rang up one of my items incorrectly. I purchased a porcelain plate and she did not provide anything to wrap it (other markets do). She didn't slide the products across the scanner but rather tossed them after scanning. She gave us a free recycle bag and as we walked out, however, we noticed other customers received multiple. We had a cart full of items that wouldn't fit in just one bag so we wondered why we only received one. On the way out, I asked the lady at customer service what the minimum spend was to receive one bag. She said $20. I showed her my receipt and said I spent $60, can I get two more? Other people got multiple. She then said it's one per person. I said we have two people. Then she went on a tangent and said these aren't even good bags, they don't look nice, etc. I didn't want to argue over a bag so I said okay and left. This is not a good impression to leave on guests during the grand opening period. read more

This is by my work so I came here a total of 3 times already and every single time the line at the cashier has been horrendous as in one lane open with 10 people waiting. They are stocked with so many items throughout the store. They had some really good deals on the noodles, hot sauce, and seafood. Other than that, some of the prices of the things they sell are more expensive than other GW locations. The place is nice and clean. It was really crowded inside. They had a lot of registers open on the weekend. No lines when I went. If you spend a certain amount, you get a free gift by showing your receipt. Plenty of parking. read more

This is the 2nd GW supermarket I visited. I was able to came here twice this year and found out there were more items in this location. I shop at the location in West Covina for Chinese groceries once every few months including Jasmine rice, noodles, soy sauce, Japanese pumpkin, Yam, silk chicken, frozen wheat buns from Taiwan. The store is clean and well-organized and the service is great! There is a very nice female cashier working in the store and a nice customer service rep who is always helpful. read more

Even though they post the sales price, they didn't honor it at check out because the cashier said it was the correct item number entered and it is what it is. She even saw the prices with her own eyes as the item was directly in front of her view. Also, I'm iffy with the quality of their products. Like previous yelpers, the quality wasn't there. I will post an example of bananas that I bought that was prepackaged. The top looked great but the bottom was damaged. That's tricky and not nice. read more

Horrible! I had an extremely disappointing experience with the fish department on July 16, 2023. I asked the worker, an older guy, to get me a live tilapia from the tank. He seemed to have gotten one from there. Then he immediately took it to the processing counter and hit it's head with a hammer before weighing it. I was suspicious but gave him the benefit of the doubt. I realized I had been duped after I steamed the fish. The pectoral fins did not rise up as they should with a fresh, live fish. The meat was mushy and unappetizing. It's clear that I was sold a dead fish, disguised as live, which is incredibly dishonest and unacceptable. This kind of deceitful practice is disappointing and makes me lose trust in the quality and integrity of this market. I urge others to be cautious when buying fish here and hope the management takes steps to rectify this issue. I won't be returning to GW for my seafood needs. read more
