Had friends staying in town and this was down the street from their hotel making it a really easy dinner spot. We had many different ramens and the trio bowl which was slices of fish over rice. Honestly everything was solid. The spicy ramen is pretty spicy with a late kick to it. And the miso broth is spot on, thick and rich. The only thing is it felt like the wait staff was over it. Our waiter seemed annoyed when we asked questions. The place is nice for a family sit down, but the high tops by the door, the bench seating is quite uncomfortable. This has been a staple in Pacific Beach for years. We decided to try some where new and ended up here. The decor is amazing, they even have a male Transformer like statue made of metal(check out the pic!). I ordered the Mayu Tamago Ramen. The roasted garlic was black and made the entire dish taste burnt. It was not edible. My companion ordered the Spicy Ramen and added the roasted garlic and again destroyed the flavor of the dish. We tried the salmon loves lemon roll. It was good but I must say the salmon on top of the roll was paper thin. The best best part of this place is the service! Staff kind and accommodating. I love their chicken karaage here - I think they use thigh meat and it's always so tender. The fire cracker roll has been my favorite roll thus far. The fried CA roll is always a hit - it is best eaten right away. Takoyaki used to be light and delicious but this past delivery order, it felt dense. The trio bowl is a nice mini poke bowl. I never write reviews but this place was amazing! My daughter and I walked up right from the beach and staff was so welcoming. Food was AMAZING. I live 2.5 hours away but will definitely eat here again once in the area. SO FLAVORFUL. You can even SEE the flavor. They even gave my daughter "trainers" for her chopsticks. We've been to many ramen spots, even lived in Japan, and have never seen such thing. 100% recommend! I ordered the spicy ramen with miso broth. I'll start by saying our waitress was the best. We all loved her. My 6-year-old daughter told her how nice she was. The place has a great look and feel. They have a cool giant samurai transformer (which has an interesting male feature). Then there was the food. The salmon lemon roll only had a sliver of salmon. For the price, other places are more generous. We came for the ramen. The ramen tasted burned. Never experienced this in the hundreds of ramen places I've been to. We returned them. First off the service was par excellence! Standard Japanese greeting upon entering any reputable ramen shop. I'll say it now... I'm biased towards shoyu ramen and this place delivers. Normally when in town we DoorDash it.... But since we were in PB this time we walked right up. Being from the SGV it's very difficult to find shoyu ramen. Everyone is making tonkotsu. We ordered the G Spot Roll, a classic ramen, and a chashu bowl. The G Spot Roll was solid. I liked it and the special sauce was flavorful, though a bit heavy. The ramen, unfortunately, was not what I expected. The broth tasted more like a beef stew than a miso base. It reminded me of caldo de res, which is good in its own way but not what I want in ramen. The chashu bowl was also just okay. The pork tasted more charred than braised and lacked the tender, rich flavor I usually look for. The rice was actually really good, and I ended up dipping it into the broth since it gave off those beef stew vibes. On the bright side, the interior here is amazing. I really love the decor. Ordered pick up from here the other day and it was waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up 15 minutes after I ordered it. Despite it being very busy in the restaurant I was tended to only a minute after I arrived. The food was hot by the time we opened it 20 minutes later. The ramen itself was good, nothing remarkable compared to what I have had. I ate most of the miso ramen, which was on the saltier side but had good flavor. When the bowl was a quarter full of broth, however, there was a think paste of what I think is miso that was unappetizing. The pork belly appetizer was good had good flavor. It was missing an element of crunch since the lettuce on it was wilted, so it was more soggy than anything. The lava salmon is something I definitely would never order again from here. $14 for the small dish that it was felt like robbery. read more

What a lovely and happy experience we had here... Despite the business we got a seat quickly and got to order quickly too. Our waitress was so nice and helpful! The decor inside is beautiful and overall the place feels spirited and genuine. I love their mural explaining the high quality of their ramen. The ramen noodles were definitely high quality, and the shoyu broth was very rich and flavorful, almost like beef au jus. I had a rice bowl with some excellent salmon. I liked that I could add on generous amounts of seaweed salad, avocado, and masago. The cost of everything, for the standards of San Diego, was very affordable. The music they played was nice and the volume level in the restaurant was comfortable. The cocktails were quite yummy! Excellent meat in the ramen and generous, fresh bean sprout and green onion. Stumbled across this place when we qere trying to find a late night eat and we came out pretty satisfied. We went to their PB location around 8:45pm. My one thing I noticed is that parking may be a challenge depending on what time you go. We got lucky and a street spot opened up right in front of the restaurant so we snagged it. Also depending on time, you will have to pay the meter for parking. We also noticed on the next street over that there is a lot, but you may have to pay for that as well so that can be up to your judgement if its pricey or not. Service was great! I enjoyed being greeted by literally everyone the second we walked in. Staff was very patient with us and did a great job at explaining how there menu works. (You pick the type of ramen that you want and then you decide from their choices of broth what you want to add to it). They were constantly checking on us to make sure we were fine, and not in an overwhelming way so that was an A+ for service! The place itself was super cute! It gave a modern japanese vibe with the cherry blossoms and the way the lighting was. There was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors so that shouldn't be an issue at all. And overall , the place was super clean and well kept. For appetizers, we had the takoyaki and karaage. The karaage was huge! But I really liked it. There's places where karaage is majority breading and sometimes too greasy but this one was really good. It was really flavorful, not too heavily breaded and really juicy as well. My boyfriend devoured the takoyaki. We enjoyed knowing that it was freshly made and not some frozen instant one they pop in the fryers. I had the corn ramen with miso broth which I really enjoyed! The miso broth was flavorful and not too overwhelmingly salty. The pork was just the right amount of tenderness. The noodles, something was a little off to me, nothing to bad but there was something that could've been better to it. My boyfriend had the deluxe ramen and that thing was huge. Definitely lived up to the deluxe title. He felt like his broth could've complimented his broth a bit more. Overall, we enjoyed this find. Ambiance- in my opinion is quite loud, the background music is high where you can't hardly hear yourself or if you're with someone it's difficult to hear each other. The place needs a renovation as it looks and smells old. This place use to be Jinya Ramen ( which is also our favorite) Food verdict- Deluxe Ramen is good. Broth is flavorful and we choose the miso based. Thick noodles and has that crunch. Highly recommend! The meat melts in your mouth and has a thick cut. I opt out on scallions and bean sprouts. I just wished there's some kind of garlic oil in it, otherwise I loved it. G Spot Sushi- good heaven this is so so good. It truly gave me that " I will return vibe!" My go to for late nite ramen cravings. Taste exactly the same as the other location up in Portland that I had a chance to try.

The decor and the service are five star and I just want to make sure that is noted before I write about anything else. The price was great for what you were getting and the right amount of food. If you consider this a location in Pacific Beach it is worth a visit if you want to get your sushi fix and get some pork fix. I will say, even though it is called Ramen Ryoma the Ramen was about 3 1/2 stars. The soup is more light and the style is a different type of broth. So if you are looking for a thicker broth, then I would try a different location. The sushi was great for around $11-$13 for rolls and they were actually really great. The appetizer of the chicken skewers were also really good and the pork over rice was great. For the environment and the price and the service it's a great place to go to. Solid 4 stars. read more

Thank goodness the seaweed salad was great and the chili garlic edamame we're awesome. But guys you really need to figure out how to do a meatless Ramen broth. Your broth is boring fairly flavorless and then why Brussels sprouts? Why not corn or cabbage or any other number of fantastic vegetables that exist? First off, the gyoza wasn't pan fried, it was boiled at best. The tayoyaki was good but there wasn't enough octopus in the middle, the salmon loves lemon and spicy tuna roll were mid and didn't have much to them. The tiger roll and g spot were good but the kimchi was bad. The staff was nice but the service was soooooo frustrating. Our waiter took 20-30 mins to check on us after he handed us the bill and during the times before he barley came around to the point where we had to ask other servers for their help and I had to go in and tell him we were ready to pay. While paying the tipping option wasn't working and kept trying to charge me $113 extra dollars which was frustrating as is. Anyways, I don't recommend going there if you want a relaxed dinner.
