Ramen Setagaya was one of my favorite ramen restaurants in nyc. Unfortunately the location close to me in st marks closed shortly after covid. I got the spicy miso ramen which was very tasty and not too salty. The portions are very large here too ! The service is great and the inside is very spacious. It wasn't packed on a Saturday night for dinner. Also , they have 18 dollar all you can drink sake/ beer special after 8 pm which I have to try next time.

I was walking around Williamsburg and decided to stop in. They were so happy and friendly and I was taken care of immediately. I ordered the gyoza and the curry and omg, everything was so good. The curry was thick, savory, and flavorful, the crispy chicken was wonderful. The gyoza's were great, nothing special but complemented the meal perfectly. The space is small but cozy, it was great to sit there as it was calm. The music was perfect, they played a bunch of The Smiths and so I enjoyed my meal while I got to listen to one of my favorites and people watch

came in solo on a friday night and the place wasn't too busy. the service was very welcoming and i was able to get seated right away. the inside is clean with low lights, which makes for a cute date night location. they also have a sign saying you can leave your phone at the counter to charge! thought the food was really tasty too - i got the black garlic tonkotsu and the ume spritzer. the tonkatsu broth was incredibly rich and garlicky, it wasn't as heavy as some tonkotsu ramens tend to feel which was great. ramen was the perfect texture too. absolutely loved the ume spritzer, which is a cocktail with umeshu aka plum wine, super light a with a fruity sweetness

We went for lunch on a Sunday and enjoyed our meals. There wasn't much of a wait since we got there around 12:30 and the restaurant opens at noon. We were seated right away and the staff were really friendly. The interior was clean and aesthetic. I normally order the clear veggie broth based ramen but I wanted to try something different so I went with the vegan cashew tantanmen. It was very creamy and it was nice to try a different set of flavors, but I think just personally I prefer the clear broth

Had after dinner meal here a few days ago. I've been to a few other Setagaya locations before and they weren't such a great experiences. I think it has been already some 4-5 years since last at Setagaya. It's my first visit at this location since a few other Setagayas had closed. Ramens itself surprisingly improved very much with great smell and taste with Tonkotsu soup. Also Tsukemen's dipping sauce was excellent, They now cooked right for the noodle firmness. We ordered three kinds but couldn't eat more since we were already after dinner that night. I am eager to comeback soon to try more selection and I need to come this time hungry.

Tonkotsu tsukemen - don't get. Soft and soggy noodles, diluted sauce

The ramen's average, not particularly good but okay. The portion's small, I think I need two bowls! The tsukemen was horrible though, the dipping sauce was sourish and very diluted. The noodles of the tsukemen were very soft and soggy.

came for lunch at 12 on a sunday and it was empty! got the brooklyn jiro which was exactly what jiro ramen should be - fatty, garlicky, umami-ey. love cabbage with garlic, the tempura flakes, and bean sprouts but noodles couldve been a bit firmer for my tastes. the inside was dimmer than expected but nice for creatures of the dark like me.

This was a pretty good ramen spot! Nice sized portions with wonderful flavors. The fried gyoza was a nice little appetizer and the ramen was good. In a neighborhood full of ramen spots it's certainly on the good end of the list. Service was great and the ambiance was cozy.

The portions are insane here like yall, I couldn't even finish my bowl. I had the brooklyn ramen which was tasty!

This spot was pretty decent. The service was great and very attentive, and the decor is nice on the eyes without being too disruptive. Looking at the food, we ordered the karaage to share and two bowls of ramen. Karaage was nice and crispy with good flavor, definitely juicy and well marinated. The ramen, tho, could have been a bit more flavorful. I primarily got the saltiness, without much umami depth to it. The eggs also weren't marinaded, which made me a little sad, although not a reason to knock off points. Overall, a pretty good eating spot in Brooklyn if you're in the area, but not a mind-blowing bowl of noodles

When I think of ramen this is the place I want to go. The broth is always savory, the noodles springy, and the contents.... plentiful. The staff is cordial, efficient, and friendly. They'll answer any question you have regarding the menu and will make concessions if possible. The space is clean, simple, yet trendy, and pretty close to what I assume is traditional Japanese ramen dining etiquette (seating arrangements, table settings, etc.) I love the spicy seafood ramen here, and my dining companions enjoyed their selections as well. I know I'll be back!

My friend and I were on a mission to find ramen to satisfy a craving after given a long wait time estimate at another ramen restaurant. We walked by here and were happy to find that they would be able to seat us right away on a Friday night. The ramen was ok and did the job to satisfy my craving. Their noodles are thinner (which I prefer) but the broth was salty and lacked some depth. Other than that it was exactly what I was needing. They also offer tsukemen and some izakaya style menu options for those who may be wanting something other than ramen.

Surprised I haven't been to this ramen spot earlier since it seems to be a pretty popular…read morerestaurant and staple in the Park Slope neighborhood. It's quite busy but the turnover rate is quick. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables and counter seating. But I've got to say I am disappointed by my overall experience based on how popular this spot is. You order from a menu you can write on, which allows you to customize your ramen selections (noodle thickness, broth, add-ons, etc). I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with spicy added. While the broth is pretty good, I think the overall ramen is a bit lacking compared to other ramen spots. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

The base price of the Ramen is $20 (protein is not included in the price), then they charge for egg and 1 slice of pork ($5 each), so you could really be paying an upwards of $30-$35...God forbid I want 2 slices of pork!! This is a HUGE turn off for me, especially considering the competition.
