Decided to check this place out after seeing it promoted on Instagram. The decor and ambience is very nice, it has an upscale southwestern vibe. We ordered drinks and the corn elote style dip for an appetizer and it was really good, but the portion size is a bit tiny. For entrees we had the birria tacos, Chile relleno, and the flautas de papa which were all pretty good, food overall was around 8.5/10 and portions on the entrees were perfect or even a little on the large size. The service was not bad, the servers that assisted us were pleasant but everything took a very long time. Long time to order, long time for drinks, long time to get our bill and pay. We weren't in a hurry so no biggie but they need to speed it up a bit. They just reopened so I'm sure they are still working it out. Overall a good choice and we will be back! read more

My family and I used to come here often back in the day before they revamped the whole place. Liked the open space and the southwestern Mexican decor. The salsa that came with the chips was yummy. We ordered the pollo burrito (I added green chile sauce to the top) and the pork carnitas. Both were delicious and the portions were big. We're always on the hunt for a good horchata and theirs is great. Service was fast and friendly. Lastly, their tres leches is beautiful and delicious. Saw a great review on tik tok and wanted to try, food looked awesome, but left rather disappointed. On the bright side, it has ample seating, lovely urban Mexican aesthetic, and friendly staff. If you are Mexican, the food isn't bad but really has no flavor. Husband and I split the carne asada and fish tacos. The carne asada was cooked alright (a little over but not a deal breaker) but it just didn't have much seasoning. You really need the guac and jalapeño to shine and bring the flavor profile. The rice and beans are good. Calabacitas fine but also could be seasoned a little more. Also important to note the calabacitas are not creamy like the traditional side dish in case that matters to you. Fish tacos- grilled. Plenty of fish in the taco for an adequate portion. Good, nothing that stood out. Could've benefited from slightly more seasoning but overall no complaints. Comes with a splice of avocado, small portion of l/t/o on the side if you choose to top with this (not a traditional slaw). Margarita was good! read more

Met friends for dinner at Casa Ramos. It was the first time for all of us. I loved the decor and ambiance. We were seated right away, and chips and salsa were brought to our table almost immediately. The chips were warm and really good. The salsa was just ok, I've had better. I ordered the lavender margarita, which was delicious. I don't normally order margaritas but would definitely order the lavender margarita again. For dinner, I had the green enchiladas with rice and calabasitas. The enchiladas were very tasty. I enjoyed the rice, but the calabasitas were a bit overcooked. The service was amazing. Our server checked on us often and was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Casa Ramos. We just enjoyed an amazing meal - and a special evening - at Casa Ramos Redux, comida casera desde Jalisco con amor. The first impression: Attentive, happy staff. The host, then the greeter, then the waitress were pleasant, personable, and kindly and gladly helpful. The menu was great! House specialties, regional offerings, and well-loved standards were available. But with a twist: Everything our party of 4 ordered was Incredible. We enjoyed the Hongos Al Ajo and Street Corn Dip as starters. The mushroom medley was accentuated with avocado and cotija and accompanied by a spicy butter and garlic sauce. The street corn dip was balanced with creamy cotija and chile powder, a grainy and smooth combination that was satisfying and slightly sweet. Our mains stole the show. My sister ordered Mariscos - wild jumbo prawns in the best chipotle creama I've ever tasted. The balance between tender mushrooms, sauted onion, and the chipotle cream saturated the prawns with a subtle creamy spice. Truly unique and memorable. My brother enjoyed shrimp enchiladas in a red brandy bell pepper sauce. He passed bites around the table so it could be enjoyed by all. His wife ordered the pollo asada. She commented on the marinade and the tenderness of the chicken. And me? I ordered what I had come to enjoy: their chicken mole enchiladas. The thick sweet and spicy sauce did not disappoint. It was particularly rich and served with a generous hand. And the sides! They serve poblano rice, laced with the chile and kernels of corn. Their refried beans were smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. But the true star of the evening was the restaurant itself. The environment and the attention and generosity of the staff was noteworthy. An example: my sister-in-law cannot eat corn and so could not share our pleasure in the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa - until our waitress, Kendra, made some flour tortilla chips for her. We were so excited to see this place reopen. My hubby grew up near here and wanted to stop and check it out. Upon entering, it is extremely inviting. We were so excited to see Casa Ramos back, but this place is different. My husband and I, and our 8-year-old paid $70 for our meal (no alcohol) and left hungry because my and my daughter's meals were inedible. I got the fish tacos off their family specials menu section. The fish was salty and fishy, and they were made with flour tortillas and garnished with the thinnest slice of avocado I've ever seen. My husband got the carnitas and they came with store-bought (Mission?) tortillas. We just ordered a side of beans and rice for my daughter, and the beans were so salty she couldn't eat them. The horchata was terrible too. No cinnamon flavor at all! It's the only dining experience of my life that I wished we had complained about and didn't pay for. It's a shame that Yelp let them keep the reviews from before they revamped, because they give a false impression of what you will get. read more

I have to say the food was good! Actually, the food was very good! We had a party of five and they had a live musician who was good, but a little bit loud with the acoustics of the restaurant. Was hard to have a conversation with my friends and family. One very surprising fact that cost them one and a half stars when we received our bill after the meal there was a 20% large party charge for five people. We were all kind of shocked by that! Be aware if you're going to have two dinners and drinks with their large party charge you will spend well over $110. read more

I would love to give 3.5 stars because of the service received, but I can't due to the amount of time spent waiting and the lack of preparedness. The owner had AZ instagram food influencers come out and do promos for the restaurant. Despite doing this, he said that they weren't prepared for the influx of people this caused. This would be my 3 star review bc that statement didn't make sense and caused issues this past weekend. However, I'm giving them the benefit. Service: The service was great when available (See comment above). The bartenders were personable and really nice. The bar did go unmanned several times and for a long period at one point. We were also informed that seating was taking so long because of the lack of workers in the restaurant. 2 serving staff, two cooks, one disappearing bartender, one host and all were doing overlapping jobs (pouring drinks, serving food, seating people). Food: I had the Chile relleno and it was pretty decent. It was filled with cheese and corn; the corn tended to overpower the chile and the cheese at points. Birria tacos were dry according to family. The fit: we were informed this place had previously burnt down but it was lovely and modern. The bar chairs were a little too soft, which caused us to sink below bar height. If there was a chair or foot railing on the bar, it would have made it more comfortable only because of where the rails were on the chair itself (really high or really low). Because of the lack of workers, there were a lot of empty tables. It's a shame because it looks really nice. I'm hoping our experience was a bump in the road and the next time we come they've planned accordingly. read more

When a restaurant wins my approval from an order To Go, that's huge. They won me today and few more clients for sure! The flautas de papa from the appetizer menu are exquisite both in taste and texture. Beautiful blue thin corn tortillas (handmade!) a fluffy potato filling and the savoy cheese on top- I could make a meal out of them and be happy. We had the Carne en su jugo, which I learned that it has the love and secrets of someone Mum's recipe- this is what I needed today. And the enchiladas de mole (little bit of spicy and a kiss of sweet sprinkled with ajonjolí). Their poblano rice is fluffy and tastes homemade, as well as their beans. The food was impeccably packed, when we picked up the food the restaurant is not only pretty but super clean. The outside makes no justice for the jewel that is inside. Their customer service is attentive to detail and oh so friendly and professional. Next time I will be dining in, for sure! Absolutely recommended!!! This is the ONLY restaurant we will go to (twice a week) because of food quality & cleanliness! Their food is top notch and they won't sell out for low quality.
